https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ad4l4gHqIoM Would you eat Yoshikage Kira's sandwich? (Minus holding it with a severed hand of course)
youtube
That looks yum, I had to skip a bit since I'm in a hurry so there may be a nightmare bit going on in there that I missed but if not, looks tasty.
Hopped over to the YT page
0:00 Start 0:02 This time it's the cutlet sandwich from St. Germain's that Kira Yoshikage bought in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4. 0:10 But the problem is this 0:14 The sauce coagulates as if it has stopped time 0:19 Ordinary sauce is not enough, so I decided to make my own. 0:31 So I made a Shaliapin-style Worcestershire sauce. 0:38 Chop the onions as finely as possible. 0:44 And then color the onions as much as possible. 0:50 Next we heat the sugar to caramelize it. 1:13 Add vegetable juice 1:21 Once the caramelized sugar is melted, add the onions, grated apples, and onions. 1:35 And then the spices. 1:42 Then simmer over low heat for about 30 minutes and refrigerate for 2 days. 1:59 then degas for 45 minutes (1270g) 2:16 Roll up with the slippery side out and let stand for 20 minutes 2:27 Roll out the dough into a rectangle with the down side up 2:45 Fold the rectangle into 3 pieces. 2:53 Close the mouth and weave in both sides again 3:15 Then fold closed side down 3:21 And flatten it out 3:32 Now the second fermentation starts. The required temperature is 35 degrees Celsius, and the current temperature is 12 degrees Celsius. 3:37 So I'm trying to get by with an outdoor electric blanket 3:50 The dough seems to be expanding a little, but it's far from doubled in size. 3:55 The dough is left to rise again while I make pork cutlets. 4:50 Spread milk on the surface and bake in an outdoor toaster oven. 4:57 First, the surface is baked at 1000W. Once browned, it is covered with aluminum foil and baked some more. 5:45 Meat for pork cutlets is surprisingly difficult to identify. 5:52 It looks a little early, but the color of the batter is limited, so I'm going to use the child heat to cook it 6:07 I managed to get it to look like that. 7:41 The cutlets in this cutlet sandwich are also freshly fried and crispy. 7:49 Can't break through the plastic wrap? 7:54 Cat grass! Is it defending itself? 8:10 It's not sticking at all. 8:20 Oh, no! I've broken through the plastic wrap and let the sauce seep out. 8:28 оооооооо 8:39 This sandwich with a hole in it 8:50 Now let's eat! 9:13 Bread with this much flavor may be hard to find, even from a bakery. 9:19 And the aroma of freshly baked bread. 9:25 This alone is worth making it yourself. 9:30 The sauce is like a spicy chuno sauce. 9:42 If it is not this intense flavor, it will be defeated by the bun. 9:48 And the cutlet is the least present. 9:53 If the bread was more puffy, it could hold more cutlets. 9:58 It's hard to encourage the bread to rise outdoors on a rainy winter day. _____________________

The only April Fool here this year is me, because I made the Soup of March, Carolinian Clam Chowder, on the 27th, and then I didn't make a post for the rest of the month.
I'll get ahead of this - Ohio is not a seabound state. We have Lake Erie and the Ohio River, and majestic though they may be, there is a dearth of fresh seafood in the cornfield regions of the state. So, in classic pig American tradition, this is a "dump a bunch of cans of crap into a pot" recipe. I would maybe go as far as to say that this is Ohioan Carolinian Clam Chowder, as not to get beat with hammers when I go to the Outer Banks. This would undoubtedly be better with fresh ingredients, but as the French say, "sail a V" or something.
For the recipe, click on the readmore below!
First things first, what makes this Carolinian Clam Chowder? Imagine a Punnet square, with the axes being "cream/no cream" and "tomato/no tomato". New England Clam Chowder is cream, no tomato. Manhattan Clam Chowder is cream and tomato. Carolinian Clam Chowder is no cream, tomato. What chowder lies in the no cream, no tomato quadrant? Who nose.......
INGREDIENTS
- 1/3 rib of celery - 1 medium carrot - 1/2 medium onion - 1 tbsp butter - 1 medium can of diced tomatoes (low sodium, if possible) - 1 medium can of diced potatoes - 1 small can of corn - 10 oz can of whole baby clams - 8 oz clam juice - 1 tbsp black pepper - 1 tsp red pepper flakes - 1 cube chicken stock - 1 1/2 cups water
DIRECTIONS
Melt your butter in your pot (most recipes I saw called for bacon fat instead, much like the česnečka recipe from January. I was too tired to go through that work, but seeing how this turned out -maybe consider doing that! It would make for a thicker, richer broth). Coarsely chop your celery. Mince your onion. Cut your carrot in half lengthwise and chop each half into 1/2-inch thick chunks. Put the vegetables in the pot and let cook until the onions begin to clear and the mixture is aromatic.
Add the clam juice, the can of clams (with their juice), the can of tomatoes (with their juice), the can of potatoes (drained) and the can of corn (drained). Add spices, stock, and water. As an aside - if I was making this with more effort, I would have gotten real potatoes and actually diced them and cooked them with the vegetables in step one.
Let cook until the broth has reduced by at least 1/2 cup and the celery is tender and has lost its crunchiness - this should take 35 minutes, with 20 minutes covered and 15 minutes uncovered. Serve hot. IF SO DESRIED: take 4 or 5 Ritz Crackers and coarsely crumble them over the soup for added texture and flavor.
So, at this point, we now engage in the moratorium of the recipe.
This wasn't bad. Well, hold on. I don't know. Like I said, I cut a lot of corners here. I firmly believe this would have been good if I hunkered down and did everything the right way. But, if you can't do it right, do it scared, you know? Don't die wondering!
I don't know. I don't want to make these soup posts double as therapy posts, but March was a really rough month for me, and it got to a point where, genuinely, the main thing keeping me going was the idea of making this soup, because my mom was talking it up for a while. By the time I made it, though, even though it was the main thing I had to look forward to, I just didn't have the wherewithal to fry the bacon, drain part of the fat and reserve the rest, dice the potatoes, cook them beforehand, fry them, deglaze the pot... so, as I said, I engaged in the traditional pig American activity of dumping a bunch of canned stuff in there.
The canned stuff is not bad. I don't know. I don't want to get philosophical, but I feel like this one kind of sums up the month I had. You can't get fresh clams here. You don't have the energy to do it the way the recipes tell you. But, you make do! Wal-Mart sells clam juice! We have a can of diced potatoes! You can substitute butter for lard! Is it what you really wanted, in your heart of hearts? No. But it's a warm meal, and it tastes alright, and that's what keeps you going. This is not the last time you will ever cook. You can do it again, correctly. Later. Now, you do what you can, and you know it's good enough.
All that is to say: soup's fine. The first bowl I had, I hadn't let it reduce properly and didn't add the stock, and I let it get cold and the last few bites just tasted like cold fishwater. It was better after sitting a day and also reducing and seasoning it right. I'd definitely recommend the Ritz Cracker thing, but I know that the clash of textures isn't for everyone

The cutest thing ever, so I don't eat breakfast but I do usually have a tall glass of V-8 (it's like a tomato based vegetable juice for those who don't know) so when I was helping care for my man's grandpa while he had his breakfast (he won't eat unless you are also at the table) I drank my juice.
My mother in law told me after I was off care duty, he started having a glass of V8 with his breakfast because of me and how I kept pushing fruits and vegs into his daily diet.

I can't see a future for myself and that scares me
I haven't taken my meds in over a year I want to be loved for me, not the sedated version of me
Me/Jordyne:

Should morals be dictated by fear of punishment?
They all had opinions of how the serial killer should be killed, and seemed to feel pity for his victims. I felt nothing, once again. I acted like I had a bit of an opinion but I really didn't. It felt the same as hearing what was for breakfast.
Why do you look like you just killed something?
I feel repulsed by my own body which somehow seems to be oozing germs, when there really isn't anything there. I wanna skin myself., claw my skin up and scrub underneath it so I'm clean. This is what it means to be sick, means to be constantly obsessed.
I love books that are
They just don't give out lobotamies like they used to anymore

I've never felt romantically or sexually attracted to anyone before. I don't feel anything, including those things.

You can justify anything if you do it poetically enough.
...You can only subject people to anguish who have a conscience. You can only punish people who have hopes to frustrate or attachments to sever; who worry what you think of them. You can really only punish people who are already a little bit good.
These were good people and they had been good to us and we had therefore had a good time. To conclude otherwise was frightening, raising the specter of some unnameable quantity without which we could not abide, but which we could not summon on demand, least of all by proceeding in virtuous accordance with an established formula.

Why does my throat burn when I drink energy drinks?
If this happens to you, caffeine could be a culprit. "Caffeine relaxes esophageal sphincter, which allows acid to come up in the throat,"
2. You’re peeing orange
Urine that is dark yellow or orange is a telltale sign of dehydration. "Coffee is actually a diuretic that can lead to dehydration by increasing the amount you urinate so you lose too much body fluids," says Amy Gross, MPH, RD, CDN and a clinical dietician at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Caffeine usually doesn’t trigger dehydration until after you’ve had about 500 mg, so you should be safe if you stick to a cup or two of coffee a day.
"They love without measure those whom they will soon hate without reason."
It is not that [the sociopath] fails to grasp the difference between good and bad; it is that the distinction fails to limit their behavior.
Should our morals be dictated by fear of punishment?
I didn't think I'd make it to 12. I'm turning 18 this year.
Hearing words of love sounded like a record on repeat. You loved me, but I didn't love you.
Most days, it feels like I'm eating my own heart
I thought I needed to get worse before I could get better
Mother's often have nowhere to put their rage. More times than not, it gets directed towards their daughters, because they are a clear image of what they could've been. An unmoulded version they could make into something to feel as if they have accomplished something themselves.
111111u
The truth is cruel. The people we love don't really love us back.
I cannot understand this feeling, and there's no way to explain it
Unless you are constantly exposed to a certain amount of pain, you will be afraid of it
Sometimes I wonder if there's something waiting for me in life. If maybe I'll wake up one day and suddenly want to live it.
You can't save me, and I'm afraid I'll drag you down with me
The side of me that was lovely, the side of me that cared about others. It made me sick to think that it was all a lie.
My mother tells me "Don't bleed on my floor," but she's constantly cutting me.
You told me you loved me my whole life, yet I never felt a thing
When the only emotion you ever showed me was anger, I welcomed it with open arms. I wanted you to feel something for me, even if all that was is rage.
In your eyes, what do I look like? Am I as bad as I make myself seem?
I had nowhere to put this sadness, so it turned into anger
A lifetime of sadness turns a person angry
I sat with my sadness long enough, until it became anger
Just because someone has it worse, doesn't mean you don't have it bad
I'm sorry that I broke your heart because I didn't know love

Side Effects of Ajwain & Benefits of Ajwain
While most people consider ajwain (carom seeds) to be harmless when used in excess as a spice or herbal cure, there are a few potential side effects and safety measures to be aware of:
Allergic reactions: Some individuals may be allergic to ajwain seeds. Allergic reactions can range from mild symptoms like itching, rash, or swelling to more severe reactions like difficulty breathing or anaphylaxis in rare cases.
Gastrointestinal problems: Some individuals might suffer from gastrointestinal problems, including nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea, after taking a lot of ajwain seeds or water. If you eat a lot of ajwain or have a sensitive stomach, this is more likely to happen.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: While ajwain has historically been used to help in digestion and reduce gas, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should use caution when consuming excessive amounts of it because its safety during these times is unknown. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is important to speak with a healthcare provider before adding ajwain to your diet.
Blood clotting: Ajwain may have the ability to thin blood, although there is little data to support this theory. Eating high amounts of ajwain may raise the risk of bleeding, so it's best to speak with a healthcare provider if you have a bleeding issue or are on blood thinners.
Are Benefits of Ajwain Safe for People with Diabetes?
People with diabetes can eat ajwain, or carom seeds, in moderation, but they must be aware of the possibility that it may affect their blood sugar levels. Although V-pure ajwain has long been used to help with digestion and may offer some advantages to those with diabetes, it should not be taken in place of a balanced diet, consistent exercise, and prescription medicine from a medical practitioner in order to properly manage diabetes.
Before adding ajwain to their diet, people with diabetes should speak with their doctor or a certified nutritionist. This is especially important if they are taking diabetes medication or are worried about how ajwain may affect their blood sugar levels.
We've covered every potential advantage of Ajwain as well as the drawbacks of the seeds. To experience the Benefits of Ajwain on the body, one should eat them in moderation. Ajwain water can also be harmful to your health; thus, it should be used carefully. Everyone is aware of the advantages, disadvantages, and usage of Ajwain by now. When used lightly, cardamom seeds may exceed medicine or other treatments in the fight against a number of chronic illnesses. One can speak with a nutritionist who is more knowledgeable about the widely available ingredients in the nation to learn more about the advantages of carom seeds.

A balanced breakfast of a least six eggs, sunny side up please, skimpy serving of bacon, undercooked please, and a big glass of juice made from the vegetables rejected from grocers and canners. You really taste the watercress!

oso obviously it’s modern but vastly different *crash of technology, etc* but... - lockwood, drinks coffee/tea in probably outrageous amounts (due to mental illness+sleep problems and go go go keep working mentaility) plus just forgetting overall tbh it’s not like he jots it down mentally or physically -to which i suggest especially when he was on his own it was probably far, far worst (got to work hard to be able to start your own agency, to never be alone at home too long, etc) just in general he likely was not the biggest picture of health and that brings me towards... -him discovering e.nergy drinks *maybe they don’t exist, maybe they do I want to say at least this format does* v-8 ones specifically. perfect for a little boost when dealing with ghosts, has fruit/vegetable juice and light/small, easy to carry on him. most times just one, or two depending on the case/how he is feeling, etc. -of course it lessens some when he’s no longer alone anymore, working on being better in many aspects overall+he is more aware ‘this is my 3rd cup this hour maybe I should just drink some water’ *maybe part of the biscuit pact logic as well aside just being for fairness etc* -that being said I can easily see him cracking a can during one long night of dealing with ghosts and just the ?huh? what is that from lucy+george as he keeps them in his room/they probably haven’t ever paid them mind on store shelves etc and his just .... “Bringing a french press would be impractical, i needed some sort of boost.... should have asked if you guys wanted me to pack spares my apologies.”

According to these Gannon’s Maui patrons
“Happy Hour is great!! Food is delicious, had Brussel Sprouts, crab dip and Wagyu burger. Outside atmosphere and view is unbeatable.” Brad H., February 2023 “Gannon’s was recommended to us. And I’d say it was the best dining experience on our trip, hands down. Fantastic food, great drinks, attentive and friendly staff. And of course the beautiful setting. Definitely coming back.” Chris G., February 2023 “We had a large group that took some time to coordinate and Gannons was not only accommodating but flexible with us as the group increased in size. Everyone was kind and helpful from the first phone call to our last sip of wine as we departed, and you toss in great tasting food, generous portion sizes, a beautiful sunset and a place that welcomed kids, and you have achieved five stars! Thanks especially to Sidney and Cara for all of your help!” Bree L., February 2023 “Excellent sunset dinner with beautiful views of the ocean. This restaurant is located within Wailea Golf Club, which is a beautiful property overall. Friendly and attentive service from our server Cody throughout the evening along with the delicious food made for a nice memorable evening. Food quality and taste were good, as expected for a restaurant of this caliber – bbq pork ribs with slaw & pineapple salsa, Korean marinated strip loin with fried rice and cucumber pineapple salad, classic iceberg wedge salad.  Nice Asian flavors fused into the steak and ribs.  We enjoyed the dinner! Their famous coconut roulade dessert was ok- nice crumb on the cake and cream filling was good, but toasted coconut didn’t come through only plain coconut flavor. Great cocktail menu, very creative selections. Cocktails were excellent, strong, especially Mr.Tuttle and Strawberry Fizz.” Chris D., January 2023 “Gannons is an absolutely beautiful restaurant with incredible views! Perfect place to watch the sunset while you sip on Mai Tais and dine on Ahi Poke. Happy Hour options are awesome and a great price!” Amelia S., January 2023 “The concierge at our villas recommended Gannon’s for a family member’s special birthday dinner. We had delicious appetizers, main dishes, and special drinks to celebrate and enjoyed a fabulous sunset, too. Highly recommend Gannon’s.” Julie C., June 2021 Open daily, Gannon’s Restaurant is the perfect spot in Wailea for those looking for something unique and off-the-beaten-tourist-path. Happy hour at Gannon’s in Wailea takes place from 3pm-5pm Tuesday through Saturday in The Red Bar and features discounted beer, wine, cocktails, and appetizers.

INTRO
Phad Thai is a stir-fried rice noodle dish commonly served as street food and at most restaurants in Thailand as part of the country's cuisine. It is typically made with rice noodles, chicken, beef or tofu, peanuts, a scrambled egg, and bean sprouts, among other vegetables. (Wikipedia)
INGREDIENTS
Tumblr media
LET'S COOK
STEP 1 Prepare the Tamarind Thai Sauce (watch recipe and the video accessible from here below) STEP 2 Prepare the Phad Thai sauce adding the sugar, fish sauce, oyster sauce, vinegar, and paprika into the Tamarind Thai sauce and mixing well STEP 3 Soak the dry noodles in lukewarm or room temperature water while preparing the other ingredients (the noodles should be flexible but not mushy) STEP 4 Cut the tofu into a one-inch long matchstick. You can fry the tofu separately until golden brown and hard or you can fry with other ingredients below STEP 5 Cut the spring onions into one inch long pieces. Set aside a few fresh spring onions for a garnish STEP 6 Rinse the bean sprouts with cold water. Divide them into 3 parts (half to cook with the noodles, ¼ to cook at the end, and ¼ to add fresh as garnish) STEP 7 Prepare the shallots cutting into small pieces (brunoise cut) STEP 8 Place the wok to eat up with a high flame and add the oil STEP 9 Add shallot, prawns, preserved Chinese radish, dried shrimps, tofu and stir them until they start to brown STEP 10 The noodles should be flexible but not expanded at this point. Blanch the noodles in boiling water for a few seconds STEP 11 Add the noodles and the bean sprouts to the wok and stir quickly to keep things from sticking STEP 12 Add the Phad Thai Sauce (the heat should remain high, as you will see a lot of juice in the wok at this point) STEP 13 Make room for the egg by pushing all noodles to the side of the wok. Crack the egg onto the wok and scramble it until it is almost all cooked STEP 14 Fold the egg into the noodles (The noodles should soft and chewy) STEP 15 Taste that the flavor is right balanced between sourness and sweetness. If not add soy sauce or sugar accordingly STEP 16 Then the flavor is right to add the spring onions and the bean sprouts, then mix all the ingredient together for a minute (adjust adding water or stock if is too dry) STEP 18 The noodles should be soft, dry, and very tangled. Pour onto the serving plate and sprinkle peanuts. Serve a wedge of lime on the side, raw onion, and raw bean sprouts on top STEP 19 Traditionally in Thailand, condiments such as sugar, fish sauce, vinegar, chilli flakes, extra bean sprouts, and peanuts are available on the side.

Vardan Sargsyan opened this ongoing cafe under the Westlake condo complex in February 2017. Tables are seated under red umbrellas where seating, and wooden bench chairs enclose the walls with a line of art inside the house. The blackboard menu touches on vegetarian foods and beverages, including nutritious juices that are compiled for ordering. Each Juice Houz (juice) has a stated purpose. To Get Rid of Toxins, simply combine legumes, kale, spinach, red apple, cucumber, parsley, lemon, lime, apple cider vinegar, and ginger. Prefer to Humility? Green apple, aloe vera, cucumber, spinach, lime, and cilantro answers the call. Shot Houz (health photos) preaches Recovery with grass grass of wheatgrass, orange, and blood orange. Do you prefer to increase your Lust? Turn to maca berry powder, hemp milk, acai bow cocoa powder, and cinnamon? Dial to Immunity with camu berry powder, watermelon, and mint. Nina Merced and husband James "kept the juice since 2005" in Venice Beach, and recently expanded to Culver City. Their new cafe includes colorful green, red, and green walls fitted with decorative dreamcatchers and hula-hoops. Organic juices are mixed to order. The Taste of Heaven Taste of Heaven may not pass through the pearly gates, but this frothy orange juice is truly satisfying, made with sweet potatoes, apples, carrots, and ginger, an ingredient that “helps to strengthen the immune system.” Other juices include V-7, riff to V-8, made of tomatoes, succulent vegetable, lemon, bell pepper, carrot, and spinach that would no doubt help to grow any Bloody Mary. Why get a face when you can just drink Skin Cleanser, a mixture of garlic, tomatoes, bell pepper, and an edible vegetable with juicy branches? This is designed for drinking, not a topical solution. “Shorts !!!” available for one ounce or two ounces. Blue algae promises ``strong, anti-aging, high protein." Wheatgrass may be a juice bar cliché, but it has shown resilience "as a detoxifier, high in enzymes." They also crack the coconut to quickly taste the tropics. Claudia Wit opened this Echo Park juice bar that suits hippie and vegan markets with her husband Bartek in 2016. This space includes brown and brick walls, aqua accents, wood veneer shelves, colorful blackboard menus, and striped bench seats. Each juice is made to order and is accompanied by a different chakra, the seven spiritual centers of the human body found in the Hindu culture of India. 3rd Eye (intuition, wisdom, concentration) needs Brain Juice: green apple, tomato, strawberry, chard, kale, chia seeds, and gingko. The Sacral Chakra (lust, art, flow) reminds Buddha Belly: grapefruit, pineapple, lemon, ginger, mint, and longan. Throat Chakra (truth, harmony, choice) inspired Immune Boost: an edible vegetable with succulent branches, watermelon, kale, lemon, ginger, wheatgrass, and chaga mushroom. Organic tonics reach only eight ounces, but it is very strong. Think of Heroine: grapefruit, watermelon, seedling, parsley, turmeric, and rose hips. "Life is a treasure" at Howling Juice, a stylish store that sisters Olivia, acai bow Noemi and Elisabeth Avila have used among car and tire repair shops since April 2017. They offer "natural, handmade juices, freshly made shots, a tonic, nutritious smoothie made from world-class food, nutritious food and snacks. ” Elisabeth Avila emphasized that organic, fruits and vegetables work well together" after 15 years of juice, and juices are "well-designed, like art projects, well thought out." The space has a white counter over the tonic bar and smoothie, a fridge of purely colored juice, a picnic table and protective party chairs, and a fashionable metal wolf that always watches over the bar. Blu may look like Windex, but it tastes good because of the balanced combination of blue spirulina, jicama, pineapple and jalapeño that promote “brain health + and cognitive skills, improved immune function, increased blood circulation, improved + blood cell growth red + white.
