Kanako calls Clover out on their BS.

Throughout the two weeks since Clover and Kanako met, Clover was pretty open with her. Engaging in activities, playing with their new friends, and feeling like they fit in down here. Of course, the cowpoke's not exactly honest with how they feel.

Don't get them wrong! They've enjoyed their stay in the Underground, even if the looming threat of being found out by the Guard, or whatever secrets Chujin has lying beneath the surface, especially hanging out with Kanako.

But the guilt of their vengeance nightmares still bother them. And sometimes they'll see that scared, tear filled face on Kanako's and just... Why do they deserve this? Why do they deserve to be happy if they feel so much guilt over something that never happened? That's why they wear a mask to hide their pain.

But Kanako saw through that illusion.

And Clover... Finally opened up about their life before the Underground. And the person they left behind to bring Justice for the missing children.

It's only a matter of time before Clover tells Kanako about Flowey.

Something about seeing Toriel again in the True Pacifist credits always stings a bit.

Just realising that she would be completely oblivious to Clover’s whole journey and all they went through in the Underground.

All she knows is of the young oddly-dressed child she barely knew who slipped out of her grasp.

All by ‘accident’.

Cursing herself for not getting back in time with the rope.

Time passes and she wonders what became of that child.

More time passes, and eventually through the grape vine, she learns of the inevitable:

Asgore’s gotten another soul. It can’t have been anyone else’s. She didn’t even get to say goodbye.

She hardly knew Clover. She would mourn them just as much anyways.

Again I'm not sure if this counts as spoilers considering I still don't know how I want to tell the story of this AU beyond scattered comics and art LOL but, Dess as the final Pacifist boss, taking up a knight mantle in order to save.. something important to her ;)

I wanted to have her a mix of ice and fire knight, given that her family is associated with winter and ice while I personally associate Dess with fire. She grows antlers and her baseball bat becomes a sword because I think she deserves to look cool

I realised I had to refine Ceroba for my au…

In the cowboy swap au, Ceroba is actually the Sheriff and leader of the Feisty Five. Clover is still the Deputy and goes by “Lucky Star”. He loves hanging around town with his Mama ☺️. I haven’t come up with a cool cowboy name for Ceroba yet, although she probably wouldn’t use one :/

HMM.. there wouldn't be to much changed, Chara still kills everyone as one does after the soulless pacifist route, but near the end Clover would challenge them This does not in fact go well for the fella

Your sacrifice will be in vain.

Clover thought their sacrifice, even if it will be short lived before Flowey loads them back, would've kept Kanako safe. it did not. The poor girl was so devastated, so heartbroken that they died. Even if Ceroba was fond of the child, and Chujin still had his reservations, especially keeping himself from ratting the human child to the Royal Guard, neither of them had the sort of connection Kanako had.

In some ways, she saw Clover more than just a friend. Maybe... Maybe they could've been siblings in another life. But that reality crushed that hope after Clover sacrificed themselves to save her. And she blames herself because she wasn't more careful.

The four-leaf clover was meant to be a gift, something much more than just a mere good luck charm. But now she will never get the chance to give it to them.

She won't get the chance to mourn them either.

The Other Clover talks down to Clover, saying their mindset of blindly jumping in the way and killing themselves isn't going to help anyone. Though they are harsh about it, they are still willing to help Clover.

It's the least they could do, even if they're beyond redemption.

I wonder if Flowey ever just... let Clover stay dead for longer than a few seconds after they died in a fight just to see what happens. I mean, he basically is the master of their fate and would probably get bored of seeing them repeat the same three routes over and over and over again. I feel like in between trying to push Clover to fight Asgore, he'd probably find the time to entertain himself watching other characters react to Clover's death to mix things up a bit.

So whats the main plot of Lcky Clover AU? How does it tie into Undertale's plot (I assume Yellow is still a prequel here?)

Lucky Clover AU does eventually tie into Undertale's canon plot! The events of UTY True Pacifist are still canon in this AU up until the ending, since Clover is very obviously not dead here LOL.

How I've been imagining this AU is that it plays out as a canon-divergent route of Undertale. During Frisk's journey through the Underground, they run into Clover shortly after entering Snowdin, and they quickly identify each other as human! Clover offers to help them out, seeing as they're experienced in navigating the Underground and can understand the dangers it poses to humans like the two of them. Frisk is a little weary, getting the sense that Clover isn't being fully honest with them, but they decide to accept their help.

From there, they travel from Snowdin to the Dunes and the Wild East, and eventually the Steamworks to Hotland! Along the way Frisk meets Clover's adopted family and friends, and learns about their life growing up in the Underground. Frisk and Clover have a lot of bonding and discussions over the topic of justice and morality, the relationship between humans and Monsters. Eventually it would end with Clover sending Frisk on their way, and the ending of Undertale plays out!
