Astr observations 《4》
Disclaimer: I am not an astrologer. This post is only for entertainment purposes, so whatever I have mentioned, if it is reasonates, well and good, and if it doesn't, then please take it with a grain of salt. Thankyou.
🛖 Aries in 3rd house may have a very reckless yet mature behind the scenes relationship with their siblings. They also fight a lot with their siblings for no reason. Surprisingly, this usually goes physical more than verbal. Very playful relationship. There is always a strong urge to hit the other person and irritate them to death. It gives them pleasure. When injured, you might immediately stop the fight no matter how serious it is and take care of each other. Oh, and if someone else dares to trouble any of you, hell would break loose. They can't hear anything bad about each other. In certain cases, this could also apply to mars in 3rd house.
🪵 Dirty mind, Dirty mind, Dirty, Dirty, Dirty mind~ Heard the song? Yeah it's made for those who have their personal planets or ascendant conjuct asteroid Prevert. Trust me, the dumb way to die is by sneaking a glance in their minds. You will be traumatized for the rest of your life and will never look at them the same way again. At any given moment their thoughts are always in gutter. Yeah I am calling myself out at this one. Do I care? No.
🛖 Mars in 10th house folks are really good at dancing. They dance so well.... like you can see the passion in their steps. Dancing can be one of the hobbies in their lives. These people can also be known for dancing professionally and being captivating as hell on social media.
🪵 Lilith in 7th house could indiacte having seen a lot of failed marriages in their life. This could be in their immediate family or even include their own parents. Hence these people have a really different mindset when it comes to marriages. They might even resent the idea of getting married and often question, what's the point?
🛖 Moon in 1st house are babies. Literally babies. Like they look so damn cute and adorable that I just can't help myself but give them a huge hug. They are the most genuine type of people I think because its rarely when what's on their mind is not on their faces. They look so innocent and naive (even if they are legit not.) People just wanna protect them at all costs. They bring out the maternal instinct for them from the other person naturally. But no matter what their warmth is the best comfort zone and their arms are home <3
🪵 Mars in 5th house would definitely be that uncle/aunt/cousin/sibling who spoiled small kids to death and taught them to do weird stunts and create a headache for other family members.
🛖 Transit Saturn in 1st house is really frustrating. It feels like you are doing nothing progressive for yourself and just wasting time. Your efforts go in vain and its really hard to maintain consistency. Sometimes you also realize what mistakes you are making but you find it difficult to correct them. Mental state is always fluctuating and self-confidence is very down. This mainly goes on until the very end when you realize that now you gotta be serious. But when you really do hardwork and break the cycle of laziness, it pays off. Its like an immature, careless kid suddenly becoming a responsible and serious person. Remember, our beloved saturn plays mind games with you. Its either you break free from this if you want the prize or pay the price.
🪵 The people that I have seen to be most likely get cornered, misunderstood and targeted are people having chiron in their 1st house. Its really concerning and hurtful. Because of other idiots these babies get hurt on a very deep and subconscious level. They occasionally have identity crisis and depression is their bestfriend. They try to be happy but life always seems to push something in their way.
For example, I have this relative of mine and she lost her brother a year before she got married. She thought if she starts fresh, it would help. But unfortunately turned out her in-laws were not good people. She was gravely misunderstood by everyone. Even if people knew that it was not her fault, they took great pleasure in gossiping about her, blaming her and literally named her a psycho. Which she is not ofcourse. She was just mentally fragile and instead of understanding her, supporting her, they made her more unstable for no reason.
🛖 Leo venus folks love Cats. They are an animal lover by heart and soul. They are someone who might stop their car in the middle of the road because they saw a really cute cat walking on the sidewalk. Just to go their and mingle with it while thinking, If only I could take it home....
🪵 Cancer moons in 3rd house, please, please stop imitating that baby voice just to butter me up and get your work done. You might think its cute but no, I can see through everything and its so annoying plus immature. Ofc now it doesn't apply to everyone out there but those who do, please take my advice and stop it. Usually I have noticed only underdeveloped people do this but until they realize, its too late and others already find them so annoying. Honestly Cancer moons are so smart yet sometimes they.....*sighs*
🛖 Nessus aspecting Mercury could mean that you often end up hurting people through your words or the way you communicate even when you genuinely don't mean it. These people are really misunderstood a lot of times. Also this works the other way too. For example, you get easily hurt or offended when people speak ill about you. They might just share their opinion on your new home decor but instead you would feel insulted when in reality that's not the case. Not that you would hold a grudge, it depends person to person but you will definitely not overlook that. It would just sting a lot for no reason. You will always wonder, why did she say that?
For positive aspects, this could work out well too, for instance they know exactly what to say and what not to. They can be great negotiators, entrepreneurs and social influencers. They also know how to handle people embodying nessus qualities like a troll or opposition hell bent on creating trouble. Hard aspect people will slowly learn to overcome their problems in communication with time and experience.
🪵 Mars opposite MC screams suppressed anger. The thick tension between their anger and self-image is unbelievable. They don't like to get angry in public. They often gulp down their anger to the last extent because they don't want their reputation to get spoiled because of it. Sometimes its automatic they wanna get angry at someone but end up swallowing it anyway. But please don't test their patience. They might just explode unexpected at any time like a nuclear bomb and destroy everything within their range, not caring about their public image whatsoever.
🛖 Lilith in first house/Conjuct Ascendant are the infamous bad examples of the family while Lilith opposite Ascendant are the good examples with secrets darker than nightsky- always holding their sanity with a single string. Ironically, both are siblings, two sides of the same coin.
🪵 Remember, in one of my posts, I said that I don't relate with Aquarius rising and their unique fashion sense? Well, guys, I finally cracked the mystery! It's not our fashion sense that's unique. It's us. We are the aliens. Ok, that was a bad joke. But really, for example, a few months back, I wore a very pretty dress at my cousin's wedding. And istg people were looking at me like I was an alien, like I wore something totally out of the blue. As if It was not something improper or overdressed but very different than what everyone was wearing, which, of course, was not the case.
Now the funny thing is, if it was someone else wearing the same dress, I don't think anyone would've said anything about it. And voila! It happened. A few days back, I attended a family function, and I saw a girl wearing the same dress in different color and design. And fr nobody uttered a word. Those same people overlooked her as if it was totally normal. As if they didn't just make me talk of the town for a whole week because of that dress. So yeah, finally figured out, it's me, I am the problem.
🛖 Its not always true when they say Earth Mars people are calm and collected. I mean they are but suppose you have a virgo mars but you also have a Leo or Aries or Sagittarius stelium, your Virgo mars will be crying in the corner while that fire stellium will create a havoc and burn down the whole world in matter of some seconds.
🪵 North node in 11th house people are so likable. They are that one friend who knows the entire school and vice versa. So many connections and so many new friends. They just keep making connections left and right no matter where they go. People like to be in their contact. This gives me 'popular girl' vibe.
🛖 You sneaky little thing, you think no one knows how much you love reading smut? Yeah you, I am talking to you, Scorpio Jupiter/3rd house. Look me in the eye, I dare you to deny this.
🪵 Mercury conjuct Mars.... man, they literally spit fire when they talk. Can't win any argument against them. Ngl, I told my friend that I would leave her if she doesn't keep her hands off me special mention to her love language that is playfully hitting me at any possible situation. She just laughed and said, "Go, nobody would take you." Me: Cries silently. Her: I know baby truth hurts. Lemme give you a hug.
🛖 If you have no positive aspect to sun in your natal chart, it might be possible that people don't like your personality much. They think you are too egoistical or full of yourself. They might also backbitch about you a lot. Now this is just what I have observed so far. So it may not reasonate with everyone.
🪵 People with Sun conjuct Ascendant make very great leaders. They have a king/queen Aura surrounding them. And when they speak or share their opinion, people actually listen and take them seriously. When they walk in a room, they make sure everyone knows who has the authority.

The Issue with Eden Polycule
So I wanted to articulate my thoughts on a relationship that ive seen in fandom spaces and lots of fan art or fanfiction. I don’t have any opinions or problems with Adam/Eve/Lucifer/Lilith, but I feel like there are some implications and tropes that we should be more careful about when it comes to Eve/Lucifer/Lilith or even just Eve/Lucifer. Before getting into it though, just a disclaimer: this post is not about polycules in general. It’s not my cup of tea personally, but ship whatever you please! This post is just me rambling about my own thoughts. Feel free to have your own interpretations. ALSO! None of this justifies Adam’s behavior. He is responsible for his decisions, including his cruelty towards people, language, and his decision to essentially wage mass genocide each year. And this post isn’t to say that this relationship drama is the sole reason why he ended up doing exterminations.
1. I don’t really like portrayals that have Lucifer/Lilith (L/L) sleeping with Eve and having her cheat on Adam, especially when it takes place in Eden. I’m afraid Vivzie might have this narrative take place in HH, but doing so does a real disservice to Eve’s (and Lucifer’s if he acted alone) character by having her be willing to cheat, and also does a disservice to Adam by having him be cheated on for reasons that are probably not entirely his fault. Not to mention a lot of media where this happens often has the tone of just “haha let’s cuck Adam twice,” which comes off to me as petty and unfair. Not only is it not a funny joke, but it essentially reinforces and justifies Adam’s misogynistic tendencies later. Especially the ideas that women are promiscuous, always willing to cheat and be unfaithful. The narrative would do nothing to disprove this if BOTH of Adam’s wives did in fact cheat on him.
2. Another thing about Eden. Lilith was Adam’s first wife, literally created for the purpose of being his partner. This is also pre-Apple, meaning that Adam has no concept of right vs wrong. The way he acts, if he truly was controlling and mean and the story book wasn’t exaggerating (which I doubt), is entirely the programming of the angels and the way they tolerate or enable his behavior. Assuming we went with the theory that Adam never ate the apple, it’s the same situation with Eve if she left him and/or cheated with L/L. The way I see it, Lilith’s cheating on Adam is not justified, even if she disagreed with Adam on certain things.
3. I also want to note that cheating on one’s partner is not a justifiable punishment for Adam’s behavior. Whether pre or post apple (now assuming he did eat it), I see it as fighting fire with fire, and all it usually does is create even more hostility and problems than if the person just clearly broke off the relationship first. L/L/E runs the risk of inadvertently encouraging unfaithfulness in relationships and marriages as solutions to a problem, but this is rarely the case. As stated earlier, it only makes Adam justified in acting the way he does. And with that justification, is he really in the wrong for how he treats women? What reason does he have to change his behavior if he is right about them? I could probably accept both wives leaving him if the purpose is to justify Adam’s behavior and not just mock him, to show how morality is not just black and white and the villains sometimes have justifiable reasons for thinking the way they do. But it still seems very shallow on Lilith and Eve’s parts.
4. This part is just my opinion on L/L/E, but I don’t find the idea of Eve getting with the people who caused her to lose Eden very convincing. L/L are the reasons her and Adam were cast out of the garden and made to live for centuries laboring to survive, farming cursed ground and painfully delivering several children. Not to mention the bringing of sin and death into the world, losing Abel at the hands of his brother and Cain being cast away to wander the Earth. All the suffering she faced in life and the suffering of all of her descendants, all of humanity. Her sleeping with Lucifer makes no sense to me unless he seduced her (when she was more naive, maybe even pre-apple) intentionally, either for the purpose of hurting Adam or if he did just love her also, which makes him complicit in ruining someone’s marriage. None of this fits with Lucifer’s character, a malewife who adores his Tall Queen and comes off to me as being very loyal. The idea of open marriage is better, but Adam does not seem like the type of guy who likes to share anything, and his marriage is very clearly between Adam and Eve. That controlling personality indicated by the story book leads me to see him as likely having some jealousy and possessiveness (though not in extreme ways).
5. The only other option is Lucifer sleeping with Eve after her death and if she goes to hell, since we know Adam and Eve lived a thousand years married together on Earth, starting humanity. But I don’t see any reason for this. We need much much more information about Adam and Eve’s relationship and all four of their relationships’ to each other in general first before we can talk more about this. But until then, I don’t see any reason to break up Adam and Eve unless there’s some importance to it in the narrative. For me, I see Adam’s womanizing in heaven as a sign that Eve is probably not in heaven. And thinking that he’ll never see her again because “Hell is forever,” he eventually becomes bitter and jaded over thousands of years and decides that his relationship with Eve must be over then. Possibly the same case with Eve in hell, somehow leading up to sleeping with Lucifer. But considering she’s no where to be found with L/L and Lucifer only references her once, there seems to be zero indication of anything between them.
6. To briefly touch on the idea that once in heaven, Eve eventually left Adam because of his horrible personality and womanizing. This is still possible, but it seems like WAY too big of a personality shift to go from married and raising a family for a thousand years to suddenly being a massive asshole and a philanderer. Something must have happened that magnified all the worst aspects of his personality. There’s no way he is the same today as he was in Eden or on Earth. If he is, that’s just shitty lazy writing on Vivzie’s part and Adam is nothing but a one dimensional villain with no depth at all. Massive waste of a character with huge potential.
Tl;dr This post is already too long so I’ll just summarize everything. Although I agree that Adam is definitely an arrogant and annoying villain, Lilith and Eve cheating on adam is unjustified imo, there is no reason for Eve to cheat on Adam or leave him at all from what we can tell now, and her having any relationship with Lucifer also makes no sense considering what his choices turned her life into. But let me know your thoughts on all this, if there’s some point you want to make or a disagreement on something else!

𓂃 𝗠𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗡𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 ✧
𓈒 ◌ a general reading for what the month of november looks like.
notes/disclaimer: for this reading, i pulled two cards for each pile. i get all the general definitions of each tarot card off of thetarotguide so people who may not be familiar with tarot can understand the general messages every card is portraying. this is a general reading for what your november may look like. take what resonates and what doesn't! usually i'd post these general how will your month go? on the first of the month, but i decided i wanted to create this blog just yesterday! it's still the first week of november, so i thought 'why not?'.
⎯⎯ 𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬
the star & the fool. both cards embody potential.
what can the star ☆ mean? : it can mean hope, inspiration, creativity, calm, contentment, renewal, serenity, spirituality, healing, and positivity.
what can the fool mean? : it can mean innocence, freedom, originality, adventure, travel, foolishness, carelessness, idealism, youth, spontaneity, lack of commitment, and new beginnings.
to put it shortly, the month of november for you is smooth sailing. if your life wasn’t so kind to you in the earlier months of the year, in november, it’ll all turn around. the star signifies both healing and positivity in one’s life while the fool can signify to childish innocence and freedom. i have to say i also think that both the star and the fool may represent you and your personality as a whole. you may be a very bright person, but simply dimmed down because of the struggles you've had this year already. i think all this time has passed and you're still afraid of expressing the person that you want to be. you want to just revert back into being a child; having no stress on your plate and just playing the whole time. growing up is hard, and it's been very overwhelming for you.
i believe that this month is a month for you to break free of whatever has been weighing down on you. i have a feeling that to do that, you might need to dabble in creative ways to express yourself. such art forms you might feel connected to is fashion, sketching, or music (whether playing or listening to it). indulge in childish activities like playing outside or playing pretend with stuffed animals and friends in your life. the childlike wonder is something not everyone retains, but something everyone yearns for yet again.
with that, i believe the creative side of your identity may have been pushed down because of circumstances in your life before such as not having any time to do it or not feeling motivated enough to indulge in such activities. but november is the time where you should connect to creative ways of expressing yourself as most of the time, art is our being. both the star and the fool shows inspiration flowing through these days of november and new beginnings whether that is to bring new people into your life or indulge in new hobbies that will bring you light. both these major arcana cards will bring in positive energy and changes to your character and overall life in the month of november, but only you can bring such change into your life. forget about your stress and the dismissive ways which you were stuck in. break free of that and november may as well be one of the happiest months this year.
⎯⎯ 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬
justice & the hierophant. both cards embody balance.
what can justice mean? : it can mean justice, karmic justice, consequences, legal disputes, law, truth, honesty, integrity, cause and effect, and life lessons.
what can the hierophant mean? : it can mean traditional institutions, traditional values, conventional, conformity, marriage, commitment, religion, beliefs, and knowledge sharing.
i fully believe when it comes to the month of november, there will be a lot of subjects that are unfamiliar to you and opportunities will open up to learning a lot of new things. i don't think this is a bad thing as long as the stress that can come from daily life doesn't weigh you down. i think you're going to actually be connecting more to yourself and society around you. a lot of crucial events are happening right now in the world and you staying educated within this month is very important (plugging in: please remember your daily click to help palestine at https://arab.org/click-to-help/palestine and make sure you don't stress yourself out too much about the results of the american election).
situations that will come into your life during this month are only going to make you stronger and teach you lifelong lessons that will be helpful later on. along with this, expect this month to be focused on balance and upholding your principles even while other people challenge your morals. align your actions with your beliefs and make sure to navigate this month with honesty, education, and clarity that can be structured out. along with this, actions or decisions that you've made in the past months might bring fruit now and reveal that your hard work before was very worth it. make sure not to be too overwhelmed with your feelings during this month because that will cloud how you go on with this month. as well as this, don't be afraid to call people out or speak your truth on situations.
either way, i think this month is really a learning experience for you where a lot of words will be passed in your life and you'll learn from a lot of people. the hierophant can also signify that there might be a mentor coming into your life to aid you with whatever situations you're going through whether emotional, educational, and more.
⎯⎯ 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬
three of swords & ace of swords. both cards embody insight.
what can the three of swords mean? : it can mean heartbreak, betrayal, loneliness, removal, absence, division, depression, separation, sadness, heartache, unhappiness, upheaval, grief, sorrow, upset, disorder, confusion, alienation, loss, distraction, ill-health, conflict, disillusion, trauma, serious misunderstandings, and tears.
what can the ace of swords mean? : it can mean new ideas, new plans, intellectual ability, victory, success, mental clarity, clear thinking, breakthroughs, ability to concentrate, communication, realizing the truth, vision, force, focus, intensity, stimulating people and environments, new beginnings, new projects, justice, assertiveness, authority, and making the correct decision.
when it comes to emotional situations in the month of november, i definitely see some struggles in there and a bit of division when it comes to any sort of relationship, whether that is romantic or platonic. i do believe there are a lot of negative energies around you and that might be affecting your own energy that is making you so upset as well along with this. i have a feeling that past traumas are going to be brought up during this month because the three of swords was shuffled and that is what’s going to bring you that negative energy around you.
i fear there will be a lot of miscommunication and i can already sense unhappiness and tears within this month. however, i do think you should not be pessimistic about this month still, i am just warning you about what may happen. i think pulling the ace of swords means that throughout the month there will be small victories for you and change will happen along with personal growth. with any sorts of growth, there will always be clarity and new ways of seeing situations.
i feel like maybe you have gone through such negative emotions like this before and that actually might be why you might be feeling that in november as well. you might be lingering on some of these negative feelings and that is obviously not good for you. i think the ace of swords can also represent that, and it can also say that throughout the end of this month, you will break free of lingering on your depressed state of mind. there might also be a person or people that pushed you into such a state where you cannot break free from your emotions, but in november, you'll be able to thinking clearly again and assert yourself back into your life.
final notes about this reading: i think that this month may be very crucial for you, especially because four major arcana cards were pulled through the possibility and integrity pile. nonetheless, i'm hoping the best for all of you in november!

DISCLAIMER. I AM NOT AN “ANTI”. I THINK BOTH SIDES OF THE ANTI AND PROSHIP DISCOURSE HAVE ISSUES AND I DONT WANT TO ASSOCIATE WITH THAT SHIT.
been thinking abt this lately but I think a lot of ppl need to hear that u can be anti censorship/harassment/purity culture and still not be comfortable with proshippers. I’ve gotten asks before being like “you can’t hate proshippers AND censorship. You being for free speech and uncensored media and kink expression shit means you’re proship” and… no?? There’s a difference between me not wanting books burned and children harassed off of the internet and me blocking a 30 year old white woman who draws noncon incest nsfw of children from a cartoon aimed at 10 year olds?? like, your childxadult abuse kink bluey fanfiction out there for any random kid to stumble across is not some revolutionary empowering “art disturbs the comfortable” shit, it’s just kinda gross (and probably against the law) and I think I have the right to want to block you. It probably hurts all the causes you say you’re so supportive of, too. Most of that “uncomfortable art” proshippers rally around does NOT glorify dark shit, which is the difference between what proshippers create and what dark fiction usually is. Also, don’t kill me for saying this but it’s not a good coping mechanism, either. You’re putting yourself and others in danger and rationalizing your abuse. I genuinely hope you get better and overcome your trauma but making proship content will only set you back. Ask anyone.
TLDR no matter how much you preach that “proship” only means anti harassment and the support of media that makes others uncomfortable, it won’t change the fact that nasty people use it as a label to gather around and do nasty things. I wish that wasn’t the case, but sadly it is.
anyways end ramble. idk I was just thinkin. I’m probably gonna get deranged anon hate for this but whatever, just my opinion. feel free to disagree and/or block. DONT FUCKING TRY TO DEBATE ME THOUGH. I don’t want to hear your asinine takes on why incest and pedophillia are okay as long as they’re fictional. As proshippers like to say, don’t like don’t engage.
#actual sugar post#I’m gonna get awful anons in my inbox for this I can feel it#so just saying I’m a minor and don’t know anything#this is just brain vomit#anti proship#dni proship#proship dni#rambles#blabbering#Kevin speaks#sugars opinions#anti censorship#anti harassment#anti purity culture#pro kink#idk

an excruciatingly long ramble about the '03 turtles and the enneagram 🐢 pt1
i’ve been working on this ‘project’ on/off for a year, and i need to get it out of my system. this is me posting the first part to force myself to stop fidgeting and hit the ground running.
i love the enneagram. i think it’s a useful tool not only for self-growth but also for character-writing and understanding. since 'typing' the boys, i've referred back to this tool while writing them or rewatching the series, and it's infuriating how much sense certain things start to make. to me, anyway!
as a heads up? this is going to be a big analysis over a series of posts. i have a lot to say fldjsfkl (i'm so sorry). i will try to keep it organized and understandable.
consider this the introductory post! posts will be linked below as i finish them. [ raph ], [ leo ], [ don ], [ mikey ]
some small disclaimers before we get started:
this is concerning the 2k3 incarnations of the boys only, and seasons 1-4 are given the most weight.
i don’t take “”birth order”” into consideration. no one--not even them--knows the order they were born/hatched in. i won’t be referring to leo as ‘the oldest child’ nor mikey as ‘the youngest’, etc. when it comes to ‘filling a role’, sure, they do that just fine, but i tend to avoid referring to them in an actual birth order or approaching them from a birth order mindset. they step into roles rather than there being an established order. the 03 boys will frequently ‘switch roles’ depending on their circumstances and company.
these are also, obviously, my own thoughts/observations, and i’m not any sort of professional. I’ve just done reading and research and thinking. whether you agree or not is up to you, i’m not your mom, go--do whatever you want, it’s fine it’s good, i don’t care, blah blah blah, etc.
OKAY. an introduction and briefing:
we’ll start with some ground-work since the enneagram seems to be unfamiliar territory to a lot of folks i’ve spoken to. feel free to skip over the next two paragraphs if you’re already in the know. i’m not going to spend too long on it, but i feel like i need to spend some time or everything else that follows might get muddy.
while there were a few books i read in preparation for this, it was careless and neglectful of me not to mention the two i referenced and heavily pulled from in the more enneagram-focused sections of this project (the parts where the enneagram itself is explained rather than how it applies to the turtles) to aid in creating a baseline. i went into this excited to analyze and discuss the turtles specifically, but i should have treated both the sources and my own posting with more respect. i apologize for that massive oversight. i feel pretty damn stupid since i usually consider myself good at that sort of thing, but i'll continue trying to do better! the two books i referred from were:
the wisdom of the enneagram by don richard riso & russ hudson
the road back to you by ian morgan cron & suzanne stabile
and i recommend them if you have any interest in exploring the enneagram further!
the enneagram is a tool used to develop self-knowledge, self-understanding, and to grow beyond self-defeating aspects of our personalities, as well as improve the relationships with those around us and to grow in compassion.
one of my books uses colors to illustrate how the nine enneagram types work: there are an infinite number of variations of the color ‘red’, but they are all still variations of the same hue. similarly, there are an infinite number of ways a person may express their enneagram type. another thing to keep in mind: your number is not determined by how you behave, moreso why you behave. It’s less reliant on traits and focuses more on the motivation that drives you.
i also feel it’d be a breach in etiquette if i didn't say the enneagram should be used to type yourself, not others. these are fictional characters; please don’t go trying to type the people around you. don’t use it to justify your own questionable behavior, and please don't feel the need to adopt a more rigid personality if you see yourself in a type. again: this is a tool, not a rule book.
if you want my opinions immediately, and without further exploration or analysis, here they are:
Raph is an 8 and has a 7 wing Leo is a 1 and has a 2 wing Don is a 5 and has a 4 wing Mikey is a 7 and has a 6 wing
but if you want more details (including what the heck a ‘wing’ is), come along with me while i do some giant ass posts on the boys and how they align with their core numbers.
i'm especially excited to talk about "City at War" from the perspectives of an 8 and a 1, how mikey is a complicated combination of a lotta moving parts and almost stupidly self-aware, as well as "Same as it Never Was" and don's 5 and the fact this boy never talks about his goddamn horrors. like i warned: these are gonna be quite lengthy, but i’ll be breaking it up as neatly and in the most digestible way possible. as well as keep the meme-ing to a minimum. …but i make no promises.
stay tuned. i have an order i'm going in, and raph's up first.

Ziggy's Beginner Oil Painting Tips (Part 1)
Despite being far from a master oil painter, I'd like to do what I can to try and make this amazing medium easier to access for all artists in the wake of AI, NFTs and the current culture of art being seen as "content" rather than something timeless.
I'm far from a spiritual person in any sense, but there is something completely unique about holding an oil painting you created in your own hands. I've yet to be lucky enough to see any of the old master's paintings in person so all I've seen are my own but despite my inexperience there's a depth to my oil paintings that my digital art can't begin to compare with.
Disclaimer: I take a very relaxed approach to oil painting and have never sold a painting before nor do I have any intention to start selling them any time soon so if you want to create museum quality pieces this is not the guide for you.
This is a guide to help people start experimenting with oil paints and putting paint to paper/canvas.
Contents:
Paints
Gesso
Mediums
Paints
I'm primarily a portrait painter so the palletes I recommend will mostly be useful for painting people.
My favourite pallete:
Titanium white
Yellow ochre
Dusty pink (optional, I just got it for quickly mixing skin tones but burnt sienna and white will do the same; provide a base which you can then cool down/darken/hue shift as you want
Vermillion hue
Burnt sienna
Burnt umber
ultramarine blue
Basically it's the Zorn pallete with a bit of customization, but that means if you want some tips for painting with this pallete you can just search "painting with the zorn pallete" and find a lot of helpful resources.
(Note: You may note there is no lamp black or Ivory black, that is because I prefer to mix burnt umber and ultramarine blue. This dries faster in my experience and also lets me cool it down or warm it up as I want.)
Budget pallete:
Titanium white
Yellow ochre
Vermillion hue
Alizarin crimson
Viridian hue
(Note: in this pallete alizarin crimson and viridian hue can be used to mix a grey/black)
Gesso
Despite my laziness in nearly all aspects of life I do like to gesso my painting surfaces even when they are pre-primed (if you are using a surface that hasn't been primed already such as paper priming is very important).
Usually I buy packs of cheap canvases for around $6 AUD so I feel as though the least I can do is add a few extra layers of gesso to them to help stop the paint from sinking right in and beginning to look dull and matte.
Honestly I don't have a brand to recommend, I have used the liquitex gesso and it's good but despite paying a lot for it I only had enough for a few canvases so for the most part I use the type you can get at craft stores for less than $10, so I say go for whatever is within your budget.
Mediums
I avoid solvents completely in my painting, sacrificing my health any more than I already do by leading the Sedentary Artist Life (tm) isn't worth it in my opinion.
I use Liquin primarily but I also enjoyed using Gamlin's solvent free fluid until I stopped being able to open the cap...
Linseed oil is probably the best medium but you will wait weeks for your painting to dry between layers verses the day, maybe 2 days you will wait using Liquin.
Brushes
There's really no reason to buy super expensive brushes, at least not for me, I paint in a way that's very loose so they don't have the longest life span. I still use brushes that have lost their shape for loose hairs and interesting textures though.
You'll note there's usually "oil painting" brushes in art supply stores, these are good for starting a painting and scrubbing paint onto the canvas when you are trying to work lean over fat (as in layers with more oil on top as they dry slower, this helps the painting to not end up looking cracked).
However, water colour paint brushes serve me well for details as well as acrylic painting brushes.
It's all up to experimentation on you, the artist's part.
As for washing your brushes, as long as you don't leave them lying around with paint on them for so long that it drys completely using a bar of soap will do, or if you can afford it buying some brush cleaner/ restorer is great, solvents like turpentine are not necessary at all.
#art#oil painting#artists resources#painting#tips#resources#painting on a budget#expert oil painters will probably disagree with all of this but this is advice from someone with adhd and not a lot of money haha#just trying to have fun here yo

Okay, so thoughts on the Legend of Zelda and religion, inspired by gameplay and seeing how people incorporate the multiple goddesses and such into their fics.
Usual disclaimer applies: these are only my random thoughts, which are open to change, and Legend of Zelda canon is deliberately inconsistent and definitely apt to change. Everyone is free to interpret it however they want with whatever headcanons they want, as no one can ever be truly correct because no solid LoZ canon exists.
Now, onto really random thoughts, most occurring in the shower or before bedtime:
In some Zelda games, no gods are mentioned at all. Others, they're very vague. Others say some deities and then another provides a different deity and some others reference that this being was perhaps a deity but has fallen and this one might STILL be a deity so good luck.
I like to say that they're all fucking deities. Maybe some more powerful than others, but they're all deities. Some divine, some profane, some really interested in carrot soup, but all are deities.
Demise? A deity. Earth-based, unholy, so full of rage and spite that he's willing to guarantee an eternal foe as long as it means that foe is dragged into this mess with him, aka, the Cycle of Hatred. Strange affection for mortal Gerudo men, whether these guys like it or not.
The Triad: Farore, Nayru, and Din. They created Hyrule, created the Triforce, still have a Presence connected to their Creation as shown by the oracles and spirits and such which have popped up over the centuries. Definitely separate, though. Loves their Creation in a divine, untouched manner. Set up a lesser Goddess to protect their Creation and the Triforce they left behind, which leads us to...
Hylia. Before it was Hyrule, it was the Land of Hylia. Divine. A little too Divine. Needed mortal weapons and mortal Heroes to kill the Earth-based deity Demise. Here are my headcanons on her based on the ever-erratic canon and the Skyward Sword manga: she realized she couldn't win alone and needed a mortal Hero. Again, a little too heavenly to tackle an earth-based deity like Demise. I like imagining her falling for the original Hero, which was one of the factors which led her to having the Fallen Hero reincarnated as the Hero in Skyward Sword. They were supposed to live a mortal lifetime together, albeit one where Hylia used him to fight Demise for the Greater Good, as deities like to do, only for Demise to say "Fuck that, here's the Cycle of Hatred." From then on, she loses her Mortal Love, as the Cycle of Hatred says "the Spirit of the Hero and the Bloodline of the Goddess" (paraphrased). When SS!Zelda dies, Hylia returns to the Heavens, her bloodline continues to carry her blood, and she gets separated because the Spirit of the Hero is now trapped by the Curse. (I like angst, dammit, and that type of eternal separation, especially multiple carriers of the Hero's Spirit are unfamiliar with Hylia, is amazing.)
Other deities pop up in the games. I say they're all deities. These games literally occur over hundreds of thousands of years. Hyrule has risen and fallen and risen and fallen multiple times. It literally exists only due to divine intervention. Hyrule and its people have no idea of their own history and myths. The ones we see in the games are the ones popular in that current era.
There's also the fact that we tend to see everything through Link's perspective, and he seems far more interested in shiny objects and, I dunno, riding/taming/bargaining with the spirits than finding out their histories.
In one era, we don't see mention of the Triad? That generation lost sight of them, but they're reminded a couple generations down the line. Hylia isn't mentioned? She'll come up again soon enough. There's also no indication that any of these deities demand worship. They can be responsive to prayers, but the connection to the deities waver over time, too. Like, how does a human's connection compare to a Hylian's? Humans and Hylians are different species and can generally be recognized by the ears, with the ears of the Hylians supposedly shaped that way to better hear the deities.
Link can hear and respond to the deities, but it's arguable that it's connected to his role as Hero. They need mortal hands to get things done, and he is damned good at getting shit done and not likely to be distracted by, I dunno, a literal god asking him to do shit. Yes, yes, that deity gave him a request. He heard. He understood. It still needs to wait until he found all of these cuccos and returned them home.
More headcanon: it's known that the Royal Family has divine blood and rule by Divine Right. The meaning of this changes depending on the era. For some, it just means Princess Zelda is magical and wise. For others, she is a literal incarnation of the Goddess. The one most likely to speak with the deities and spirits -- Link -- is probably never going to clarify to anyone how it is. Hell, he's probably never going to care enough to ask.
Most eras have no idea about the Spirit of the Hero. Link's either a random hero who just popped up or a strange traveler. Sometimes he is a Prophesied Hero. Sometimes he is a Divine Weapon. Beyond his ability to be a fucking godslayer when necessary, I think it's easy for him to be dismissed. It's made easier when Link's like, "I'm out. I'll leave you guys to fix this rubble. Oh, what happened here? Hell if I know. Good luck." Connecting him to a Spirit which is literally older than Hyrule? Not happening. In OoT, he's recognized as Special and a Hero by a very rare few; otherwise, Link's just a traveler or that weird kid. In BotW, it's pretty clear that King Rhoam views him as just a holy weapon. In BotW, there's no indication that he even really speaks or looks at Link at all until he's a fucking ghost and unliving with regret. No elevation. Barely any notice. Just Link or Nameless Traveler.
In a land as old as Hyrule where deities like to traverse and poke, it's easy to imagine many deities calling it home at least for a period of time. Hell, maybe they don't even call it home but mess with the local deities at some point or another. Also considering how many apocalypses this land has experienced, it's easy to imagine that they can't have a consistent mythology or religion. It changes each era based on texts and art which survived the last round of destruction. Hell, even their major secret-keepers, the Sheikah, regularly struggle with attempted genocide. It's amazing anything survives with any sort of consistency, nonetheless knowledge about a war which existed before Hyrule itself did.
#legend of zelda#meta#showerthoughts#bedtime thoughts#i have a lot of feels about this okay?#and far more thoughts#than this post can show#i would like to one day#due a full meta on religion and loz#but i have to get my thoughts straight first#which is an epic accomplishment

Welcome to a special astrological chart reading for Yunho since it’s his birthday.
✦ Disclaimer I do not know him personally, no harm intended, others may interpret differently. I’ve been studying astrology for six years, and I take this seriously and try my best. Feel free to ask any questions you have! This is not a full chart reading, just a couple of interesting things for his birthday.
✦ Sun conjunct Jupiter in Aries (Fifth House) Sun and Jupiter love to be here, as it’s the house associated with creativity, talent, and activity. It’s what makes us feel alive. Definitely the type of person who thrives on performance and needs somewhere to channel all of that energy. It’s part of his purpose. Very playful but still a hard worker and likes to try a little bit of everything just to become better at it. Competitive. Optimistic yet realistic. Why keep doing something one way when you could do it better? He has a lot of faith that things will go well, and even if they don’t, he’ll just brush it off, learn his lesson, and move on; he takes a philosophical approach to his failures.
✦ Moon in Gemini (Eighth House) He’s sort of everywhere all at once, that Sun in 5H combined with the Gemini Moon makes him so willing to try new things just for fun. Why not? This emphasizes that playful energy, the need for banter. He’s probably good at hiding how he feels, though all emotions and thoughts will eventually surface whether he wants them to or not (as with all 8H placements), so best to be direct and honest with those (even if being direct is not his strong suit). Mimicking others comes easily to him for sure. Hm, he probably does remember that thing someone did twelve years ago that everyone else forgot about… Forgive? Sure. Forget? Never.
✦ Mars Rx in Scorpio (Twelfth House) This placement idealizes strength. People who have Mars in 12H or Mars-Neptune contacts tend to be the type who don’t complain about their problems, or if they do, it’s with the caveat that it does not make them weak. ’Tis but a scratch. Great placement for anyone involved in physical activities such as sports. Charismatic and compassionate. The retrograde is interesting because that directs a lot of the energy inward… He’s not necessarily a pushover by any means, but he is cool with just going with the flow and seeing where that takes him—but it has to be his choice. That Pluto in 1H needs control and mastery over the self. Mars in 12H tends to be fairly passive-aggressive and indirect… “I won’t do this myself, but I will help you do this.” Not a leader nor a follower but a secret third thing.
Mars square Uranus in Aquarius, he’s decisive and willful, action-oriented. He’s not the type to laze around waiting for an answer when he could easily find it out for himself. Yes, there are a lot of contradictions… Adds flavor.
Mars semisquare Pluto is interesting because it’s very much an aspect associated with extreme endurance or survival, good for (surprise!) dancers. His tolerance level is crazy high, both physically and mentally. I wouldn’t say he’s patient by any means, but it would take a lot to reach his limit.
✦ Venus-Mars-Neptune T-Square I would associate this aspect with the Prince Charming type—the ideal man, both in how others view him and what he seeks in others. Venus-Mars contacts are often found in dancers (beauty and action). More charm, more creativity. He needs to do something worthy to give to others.
✦ Pluto in Sagittarius (First House) This, along with Mars, is his chart ruler and the most important planet in his chart after the Sun and the Moon. He’s really an all or nothing type of guy, willing to push past usual boundaries in order to create a new side of himself. Very dedicated to whatever he devotes himself to. He finds the release of this pent up energy and power within himself through creative outlets (fifth house) that he gets to share with others (Jupiter).
✦ Final thoughts Overall, his chart reflects his person: playful and energetic with an intense passion. Such a nice balance because when there’s something too idealistic in his brain, he has another planet to bring him back to reality…
He’s really born to be a performer. I expected nothing less. I do think he’s fairly self-critical more than critical of others, and I hope he knows that we love his dedication and appreciate his hard work.
Thank you for reading! You can check out my other chart readings on my blog or on Twitter.

Just wanna say the coloring of ur gifs are absolutely beautiful, what all do you do if you dont mind sharing :0?
ah thank you! that's very kind of you <3 step-by-step under the cut:
get my clip
i open it in microsoft clipchamp (has a paid and free version, i use the free one. nothing fancy, it came with my laptop) and cut as needed (i cut when there's a new gif, or when i'm putting a new subtitle on one gif—so some gifs will be multiple clips, some will be just one)
under filters: i choose 35mm and keep it at the automatic intensity
i take the contrast down to about here. i keep it similar between gifs by trying to line the slider up with the "n" in saturation
it's going to look really weird. that will be fixed in a moment. i export one clip as a 1080p video. not as a gif. exporting as gif will kill the quality
i create a video in canva, which if youre unfamiliar is a browser program with a paid and free version, iirc i have the paid version but i dont use any paid features in creating these i dont think? i should probably cancel my subscription tbh i dont use the paid features that often. and it has ai now which sucks :///
i upload my clip to canva. i usually drag and drop it into the timeline rather than onto the page, because it takes the right placement to get it to fill the whole page if you do it that way, while it will be the right size automatically if you put it in the timeline
go to "edit video" in the top left, then go to "adjust" and set these values: Brightness: 10 Contrast: 20 Highlights: 100 Shadows: -100
to add subtitles, go to text — body text. i usually just use the default, but a lot of fonts work well
set the font size to 40 (or whatever works best for the font youre using) and make it bold and italicized. use whatever colour you want as long as it shows up. lighter colours are almost always going to look better.
then go to effects — outline. set it to 80 and the colour to black. in the past ive made the outline a darker colour of whatever colour the subtitles are, but ive switched over to always using black because i think it looks better. ymmv
share — download — gif. you can download multiple clips as one gif, which is what i do when a gif has multiple subtitles or a lead-up to subtitles. so, for example: clip one: gif one clip two: gif two clip three: gif two download clip one as one gif, then select both clip two and clip three for the second.
a lot of the time it's larger than 10mb. when that happens, i upload to giphy and redownload from there and that usually fixes it. it probably reduces the quality and it's convoluted, i know. no idea how people keep their gifs under 10mb. witchcraft, maybe.
hopefully this is semi-coherent? can you tell i dont know how to write a tutorial lmao. disclaimer that if it wasn't glaringly obvious by the free programs and weird, clunky process, i'm not...super passionate about gifs? i like it when i can make them look nice, but mostly they serve as visual aids for my yapping. there are other, more talented people out there who have put out better tutorials using better programs like PS. sorry if this was a disappointing tutorial!
a note: both clipchamp and canva have AI features. i wish they didn't, and i don't use them. i went hunting for a similar free program that didn't have them, but everything just seems to be saturated with ai now ://
#SORRY this is such a bad tutorial#and a bad process#i dont have PS im making do with free programs </3#i used to know how to use davinci resolve but the knowledge is gone from my head now#asks

What makes a golem a golem? I see a lot of media that calls any sort of construct or manmade being a golem but I feel like that’s not right? I see a lot of people see Frankenstein’s monster is a golem for example.
Great question that I'm probably going to end up answering in like four different directions!
Also, sorry for the delay, I saw this, thought wow, this deserves a thoughtful response, and then got busy for two weeks with travel and family stuff!
Okay, so usual disclaimers that I am not the holder of the One True Jewish Opinion and that folklore can be wibbly, but here's my basic take on what makes a golem a golem.
There are a few positions I'm going to explore here on "what is a Golem" -
The most literal/traditional definition from pre-20th century writings.
The most inclusive - Every Constructed Man Is A Golem and/or if someone calls it a Golem it must be one.
The appropriation-observation - That Mech Isn't A Golem, But It's A Problem That It's Pretending To Be.
Also: Full Disclosure: My personal opinion is definitely somewhere in the "Golem means a specific thing, but it gets misappropriated a lot and that's bad" range.
In the most literal & traditional sense, a Golem is a formerly inanimate anthropomorphic shaped clump of Something (most traditionally clay or dirt or rock) brought to life by the magic of the Hebrew alphabet. Golems also lack free will - whatever you tell them to do, they do, and generally they are portrayed as very literal in how they interpret instructions. They are also, in the earliest examples, mute.
Golem folklore goes back into at least Talmudic times (first centuries common era), with examples of Rabbi such-and-such making golems using Hebrew names or the word for truth in middle ages. Our modern conceptions are also typically heavily grounded in the writings of the Maharal of Prague (Judah Loew ben Bezalel), who lived and wrote in the 16th century. Although relatively recent, the Maharal and his golem he deactivated so it wouldn't have to work on Shabbos are the most famous at this point.
Many of these stories understood golems as both general household help and as potential protectors of the Jewish community. The Maharal in particular engaged with the latter angle.
I do not think that the most exclusive interpretation of what we call golems, at least alone is helpful for modern discourse. Having a base understanding is useful though.
Roughly, tradition tells us that a golem is a traditionally clay-based constructed humanoid figure brought to life by the power of the written Hebrew language and operates without free will and usually without speech. They are not evil, just literal AF, and need to be handled with care - both with respect to their behavior and by some accounts, how the golem itself is treated.
This is a fairly restrictive definition. The opposite view is that anything that looks like, is called as, or vibes like a golem counts. In my observation, this is usually in the interest of calling out misappropriated golems.
I basically see three problems with the "everything is a Golem" camp:
It's NOT a one-to-one, but there are other manmade alive-but-not figures that fill similar roles outside of Jewish folklore. I'm not saying that a Talon (Greek) or Shabti (Egyptian) Tupilaq (Inuit) are exact equivalent to Golems, I'm saying that if a creator from a background with a constructed person-like entity as part of their traditions creates media with constructed person-like entity we should hear the contextual horses not zebras.
If something is a golem, we need something to not be. If we wanted to be very expansive, one could even argue that household robots like Rosie from The Jetsons are Golem analogues, which would be fun to argue, but one would be wrong. Basically, I oppose "anything is this specific thing" definitions.
There are lots of pieces of media that misappropriate golems (and other Jewish folklore, but that's a song for another time), but it's important to me that we save that label for Actual Problematic Appropriation, not literally anything that could possibly count because of vibes or whatever.
I do think we should be immediately suspicious of that which is labeled by creators as Golems when the creators are not Jewish. Why is gentile creator insisting this is a thing from a community they are not part of???
I sympathize with the assessment that misappropriated golems and golem analogues abound, because they do. This brings me to my own view.
For me - I think the best ways to determine if x is a Golem or Golem-analogue, misappropriated or otherwise, is to explore the following three questions:
Does it line up to the traditional description?
Do the creators insist that it is a Golem and/or do we have reason to believe they were influenced by Golem stories?
Is there a community consensus from the culture of origin - Jewish - that this piece of media is a Golem or Golem analogue? [by far the trickiest to determine].
I think there are basically three answers you could land on: definitely a Golem, definitely not a Golem, and some middle ground of inspiration from the thing.
Since the example given was Frankenstein, I'll run that as a sample:
Eh. I see where people are coming from on this one, I do, but I don't think the evidence is damning here. We could nitpick on the physically different aspects - the lack of Hebrew inscription, people instead of dirt/clay, the electricity bringing to life, but I actually think the thematic differences are more relevant. Golems are explicitly under the control of their creator, have a (relatively) easy on/off switch, are generally intended for good purposes (household help, self-defense), and regarded as part of the household (most narratives have Golems not working on Shabbat). Although I wouldn't say Frankenstein's Monster is evil, there's a very different relationship and operation that is much more horror-y than folklore-y at the end of the day.
Shelley never straight-up said the monster was a Golem. Although Golem narratives go back much earlier, their debut to the wider world was in 1808 through the Brothers Grimm's submission to a literary journal, Journal of Hermits. In 1808 and 1812 we see clear departures from traditional Jewish narratives in the write-up's from the Grimm brothers. It's perfectly plausible she interacted with Golem or Golem-esque ideas through her intellectual circles in this way.
There is not community consensus that Frankenstein's Monster = Golem. There are definitely Jews who hold this position, but it's not a community consensus by any means.
In this case, at least for Shelley's 1816 publication (not getting into later stuff or movies), inspiration from the Brother's Grimm bastardization is probable, but ultimately I'd say not a Golem.
As per usual, OP (or anyone else) is welcome to follow-up, other Jews welcome to add stuff, goyim welcome to reblog!

Headcanon: Adrien Agreste is Trans? (Part 5)
Part 5 let’s gooooo!
Wow, so, as I’m going through my own trans journey, I was inspired by some to write another part of this headcanon. I was somehow able to connect Adrien’s character to parts of my own journey. It’s pretty cool!
Here are the other parts of this headcanon if you’d like to read those: part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4
Usual disclaimer: this is just for fun! Obviously cis boys can have these same qualities and traits. Don’t take it too seriously. These are all just things I’ve noticed. Also please keep in mind I haven't watched anything beyond Migration as I’m writing this (I’m using the material I have so far).
CW: mentions of transphobia and abuse
The struggle to envision his future
Trans people can struggle to envision their life in the future due to not having older trans people to look up to. Or they feel so depressed from gender dysphoria or judgement for being trans that it makes it hard for them to see what their future will be like.
We see in Wishmaker, Adrien doesn’t have much of an idea as to what he wants for his future. He told Luka and Marinette that his head feels empty. And, additionally, he said to Ladybug he never had any childhood dreams.
When he’s hit by Wishmaker, he turns into who he is now. I mentioned in part 2 of this headcanon that there’s trauma behind that, and Adrien is trying to be this perfect young man for his parents. However, I want to look at it from a different perspective-
Consider, he turns into himself now - not even an older version of himself with no differences whatsoever, meaning he possibly might not see anything beyond the person he is now. Or (TW here) he didn’t see (or could barely see) a future for himself as a kid because he was so depressed and dysphoric. It’s not uncommon for trans kids to feel like they won’t live to transition. Especially with Adrien, if he is trans, I can only imagine how terrifying it would be for him trying to come out to his parents.
Or, if he was at first confused by his dysphoria and trying to figure out his identity as a child, that confusion could’ve clouded his vision for his future. He couldn’t completely understand who he is and why he was feeling the way that he was.
Not fully understanding yourself and who you are - even within your gender identity - can cloud how you see yourself now and in your future.
The “I just want to be a son!” line
The line Adrien said in Risk: “I just want to be a son!” stands out to me a lot.
I know he mainly meant it in a way of saying that he wants to be treated like a regular kid by his own father, not like a model. But, - listen, I’ll take whatever crumbs I can get - there’s a strong emphasis on this line and making sure he specifies “son.”
Having this strong desire to no longer model (which is in fact one of my other signs I listed in part 4 of my headcanon) and saying he wants to be a son just gives me vibes that he’s so dehumanized by his own father. His father barely treats him like he’s his kid and uses him as marketing for his designs. And referring to another part of this headcanon (part 1), him and his father have this unexplainable disconnect, even though Adrien is such a good son. I had mentioned maybe it’s because Adrien is trans and his father barely accepts this.
So, if it is true that this disconnect is caused (or at least partially caused) by Adrien being trans, he wants to make it clear he’s at least his son, not his daughter.
The dehumanization
Speaking of that unexplainable disconnect and dehumanization I had just mentioned, I want to get into more detail about that.
Gabriel continues to care so little about his own son, and at this point in the series, we see he’s barely even treated like a human anymore. Gabriel’s behavior has worsened. Gabriel had the audacity to free Adrien of his modeling career by creating a fake AI version of him.
That is absolutely dehumanizing. Like, is it good that Adrien is no longer a model? Yes. But is it good that there’s a duplicate of him saying things and making expressions that aren’t real? Things he never said and did himself?
It’s incredibly slimy behavior to see your son as a marketing tool and way to reach your own stingy goals. And that begs the question: why does Gabriel see his son as just these things? How could a father treat his son with such little love and apathy?
This reminds me a lot of transphobic people because they don’t think of trans people as real people. They say and treat them as if they aren’t humans. They’re willing to threaten them, spit on them, possibly unalive them, insult the daylights out of them, etc as if they don’t have human emotions and lives. And, these transphobes are typically hateful, evil people, just like Mr. Gabriel Agreste.
One could argue that Gabriel has just gone absolutely insane and he showed some compassion for Adrien in earlier parts of the series. But, I don’t feel this is true. Referring to Wishmaker (again lol), it’s shown his parents have had expectations of him his whole life. Their love for him was conditional starting from his early childhood, and we’re not given reason as to why this is - it’s just been suspected to be abuse.
And, if we knock out my first section about Adrien not realizing his future, maybe he did know since childhood that he’s trans. And perhaps he defied his parents (like he did when he ran away to the school) and started taking steps to transition (as many steps as he could before needing his parents to weigh in and be somewhat accepting). That’s why Gabriel neglects Adrien and dehumanizes him, and him just going crazy showed more of his true colors - colors that have existed within him all along.
The relationship & physical affection discomfort
In Adrien’s first relationship, he was so uncomfortable with Kagami despite how long they were friends prior to. Understandably, this was his first relationship, Kagami made a lot of assumptions about him as a person, and came on really strong. But, despite liking her, he was still so uncomfortable and never really got over that.
You’d think he would’ve been okay with kissing her and more physical touch since he seemingly had a bit of a crush on her for quite some time. But he hardly was. And he showed a bit of disappointment when she made wrong assumptions about who he really is.
If Adrien has gender dysphoria, he’s not going to feel very comfortable with physical affection, especially with someone who has the wrong idea of him as a person; someone who doesn’t know he’s trans (at least not yet). Notice how he also backs away at times when Ladybug actually tries to be physically affectionate with him (particularly the Fake Ladybug in Puppeteer 2).
Adrien only seems okay with physical affection if he initiates it. If someone else tries to initiate that first move when he’s not completely comfortable with them, he gets uncomfortable. It has to be by his terms. This could be him having to gain that bit of trust since he’s used to that dismissive attachment style from his father who neglects him - it reflects itself in romantic relationships. But it could also be bodily gender dysphoria and the fact that no one would know he’s trans (aside from his own family).

(Usual disclaimer, feel free to leave this if you're too busy) Could you share your favorite warding methods?
Thanks for asking!
I haven't worked much with this, which is surprising because I am certainly someone who needs to use warding spells and methods. At its core, warding is all about protecting your boundaries and maintaining self respect. There is a lot of intention and commitment involved so it can take years to get into the habit and rhythm.
My first line of defense is often jewelry. I have an evil eye necklace that I brought back with me from Greece a few years ago and that seems to help. I also have a mirror necklace which is also effective. And of course my favorite, Cernunnos. I often wear lockets with loved one's pictures in them because I feel like they're with me that way.
I don’t have much knowledge of incantations and spell craft, but reciting meaningful poetry has often helped me. It keeps me alert and comforted. And I think that incantations and spell craft is similar.
Apotropaic magic, or protective magic, has been in use in many cultures for thousands of years. So I've always done things like knocking on wood (and touching wood, the British tradition) which is often called a superstition.
Creating barriers for bacteria, illness, and pests is a valid, if more scientific approach, to warding. Cutting off trails left in your home by ants, guiding mice outside your home by leaving no-kill bait that forces them to go outside in search of water, removing dust that can be harmful to your lungs and that can be a breeding ground for pests in general, etc. Cleanliness is a kind of banishing.
Visualization is also very powerful. Find or create a safe space in nature or in your home. Close your eyes and envision physically blocking or fighting manifestations of negative energy. You can even create a magic wand to help you as well.
Plants are often said to absorb negative energy if they are cared for by a witch. According to some, if a plant in your home (or even outside your home) is doing poorly it means that it is taking the negative attack instead of its human. On a more scientific note, some plants can be wonderful air purifiers.
Witch marks on buildings are good if want to focus on home protection. Read more here. Conversely they can be used to ward off witches when we were associated with evil practices, but if you're a witch yourself you can simply use it to ward off negative forces. These marks can be whatever you want them to be.
I've been reading a little about house guardians recently. Aside from deities on altars, people use figures, often two at a time outside the home to guard against various negative forces. This is common for people who aren't even witches: lions, griffins, sphinxes, angels, and saints are used all the time to guard the front steps of many homes across the world.
Salt circles are great, especially during meditation and tarot reading. Needless to say, this doesn't work so well on carpet but you can use a circle of gems and stones to have the same effect.
I work with fire magic a lot, so lighting candles and bonfires is important for me and burning things that you need to let go of like paper, sigils, or dried plant offerings - there's an association with cleansing and bacteria removal too.
TL;DR: Maintenance is something that you have to keep doing regularly like cleaning. Protecting your energy with regular spells and rituals is key. Blessings to you!

hii! i found your blog by accident and i'm mesmerized. i used to play rp on twitter and i really wanted to start doing the same here but idk where to start. could you please give me some tips?
oh hey, thank you so much for reaching out! :D i'll admit i'm not as active on this blog as on others, but it makes me happy to have reached you nonetheless. <3
i'd be delighted to give you some tips to start out! it's definitely a process that feels a bit alien at first, but over time you get a feel for it. :>
i am soooo sorry in advance, this is going to be super long — you picked a wordy bitch to ask 😂 but i'll try to format this in a way that's easier to read!
take your time to go through stuff & no need to read or absorb it all right away. feel free to keep this post bookmarked to look back on whenever you need it as well.
💖 welcome to raine's stupidly-long guide to starting tumblr rp! 💖 qualification: i've had this blog for 11 years. fml disclaimer: still all just from my perspective, i'm just one gal with opinions hehe
start out by making a new blog for your character. (i wouldn't recommend starting out with a sideblog personally, since you can't send asks from them). choose a url that feels relevant. i'm always a fan of the ol "smush two words together that sound nice" technique — ie, my other blogs are huntershowl and icarusplunged — which never seems to fully go out of style. really you can do whatever feels right to you :)
the most important part of setting up an rp blog is creating a rules page and, if you're writing an OC, an about page. the rules set up your boundaries, your wants and don't wants, anything you want someone to know before they follow you. the about page should give new partners everything they need to know about your character personality, appearance, setting/lore, any backstory you want to display publicly.
feel free to look around at different rpers' rules pages and use them as inspiration! as long as nothing is copypasted and everything is your own original content, which brings me to etiquette.
etiquette!
'tis largely an Unspoken Thing in the rpc (rp community), and breaching it can def make people feel uncomfortable (even though that's something that Should be in rules pages, most of us forget haha). here are the things i can think of off the top of my head:
the way to reach out to new people is simply to follow them. that's all you gotta do! if they don't follow back, don't push, just unfollow them after a few weeks and move on. it's almost never personal!
in that vein, if someone's blog is private/selective/mutuals-only, wait to interact until they follow back.
once they do, it's up to you how you want to move forward — usually i'll wait until they post some sort of interaction call for you to like. a starter call, a plotting call, orrrr if they reblog an ask meme (which is like a list of sentence prompts! you can choose one from the list and send it as an ask, which they can use as an rp starter.) you can also just IM them though :)
don't reblog non-rp content (ask memes, quotes/imagery, etc) directly from another rp blog, it clogs up their notifications! just reblog from the original post instead.
don't interact with other people's threads (liking or reblogging, but feel free to read them and talk about them ooc!), and only respond to a starter if it's labeled as open — otherwise it was probably written for another rper specifically.
try not to prod people too hard if they haven't responded in a while. some folks are okay with being reminded about a forgotten thread a few weeks after replies stall out.
always tag nsft (not safe for tumblr, the other acronym gets flagged/hidden) and very upsetting content — gore, SA or abuse mentions, etc. i've seen some people starting to use "dead dove do not eat" as a catch-all for super dark content, but honestly that phrase gives me the heebiest of jeebies so i prefer to go with individual tags
general platformless rp etiquette rules apply: don't steal other people's content, don't assume or control the other character's actions/thoughts/etc.
be kind to each other, most of all. communicate when you have a problem with someone, rather than making a vague/callout post about them. that being said, i'm a proponent of the block button — blocking people is okay! it's not a big deal. this is a hobby space and no one is entitled to you. advocate for yourself!!
okay that was a long section, whew! lil break. take a sip of water. have a snack mayhaps.
now: RP STRUCTURE (the fun part)
we don't really do "script" style rp on tumblr — it'll usually, if not always, be in prose/paragraph form. formatting is a fun touch, but not necessary. as you can see, i'm using small text here with some little chunks of text in bold/italic or regular size text to add some visual interest. again, not necessary! experiment, figure out what you like!
lots of people will use icons of different sizes — 100x100 is the most common, but they really do vary. i would suggest going smaller rather than bigger (like don't use full post-width gifs or icons, try to keep them under half the size of the post? that's the most common vibe at least.)
icons can be used to "illustrate" your character's expression among a bunch of text, if you want Visual Spice. but they are soooo not necessary! totally up to you.
here are some examples of my icon styling!
there are lots of rp resources out here for cool coloring psd's and graphic templates for ya blog. create something fun and pretty that you like! <3
to reply to a thread, reblog it and add your post.
important: i highly recommend downloading and installing XKIT in your browser. it's an extension that lets you trim posts to the last two reblogs (common around here), customize your blog experience, and just makes it a lot easier to exist on tumblr haha.
ummmm i think that's it actually! you're finally free of my rambling. i really hope this helped!! please let me know if you have any questions, and gimme a follow when you start up a blog — i'd be happy to help you out however i can.
#* OUT.#* NOTE.#* ANSWERED.#{ seriously don't be shy to ask any more q's! }#{ also if any of my mutuals want to leave replies with more tips pls feel free <3 }

how do you come up with your character backstories? they're all so detailed and well thought out and you always seem to have an abundance of fun and interesting trivia for all your characters as well. would you be willing to give tips to someone who has a hard time coming up with anything beyond like. the basics lol 😔👉👈
WAH THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS 🥺 i always feel a little embarrassed talking abt my ocs because i tend to start and never stop lol, and theyre all very special to me so its a sort of vulnerable extension of myself in a way. even if im only sharing with them with the lovely ppl who live in my phone its always a little stressful, so i really appreciate that they left a good impression!!
as for tips, i just wanna say as a disclaimer that i am very chronically online. ive also had multiple periods of extended free time in which ive been able to really hyperfocus on certain media and the characters i want to create within them. ALSO, a lot of my ocs ive had in development for several years and theyve just evolved naturally. ashara, for example, i made when i was 19, and im 26 now lol. ik this is cliche to hear, but i rly do think its important to go at your own pace when developing characters and do whatever makes YOU happy, before looking to anybody elses ocs , because we all have different lifestyles and creative processes and whatnot ❤️
that being said, i can def share a few things that helped me! firstly, i always start developing characters based solely on vibes and sensory stimuli, so i'd highly recommend making a pinterest moodboard for them and/or a music playlist! pinterest esp, since its such a great way to start brainstorming and getting a visual idea of what you want your character to look like/embody/represent. its a great place for inspiration in general.
secondly, one of the most important steps in developing any character is motivation. what does your oc WANT? why? what would they do to get it? should they get it? would would happen if they got it vs if they didnt? do they ACTUALLY want it or just think they do? answer those questions and you've already got a pretty solid foundation to work with. another really useful piece of advice a friend gave me several years ago was this: "what is something your character believes in at the start of their journey, that they no longer believe by the end of it?" for example, my warden oc elspeth believes in traditional heroics and black-and-white morality. by the end of dao she does not. theres a LOT to explore between point A and point B.
lastly, when i make ocs its very important to me personally that they feel inextricably TIED to the media they belong to. this is completely optional ofc, bc lots of people enjoy characters they can drag and drop into different stories, which is fine! for me though, i like taking cues from the world around them. it makes them feel natural to the plot, the setting, the canon characters, etc, because it helps me pin down some of their more hyperspecific quirks. there are a few ways to go about this.
the easiest way imo is to look at any major Core Issues within whatever media you're working with. like real life, people have OPINIONS about ISSUES and POLITICS lol, and those opinions are usually influenced by their own lived experience or personal belief system. so if you can identify a few key figures, factions or events in your story, and give your character an Opinion or Reaction to those things, it can pretty naturally be evolved into a unique and interesting backstory. to use elspeth as an example again: "elspeth dislikes orlais". thats a political opinion about a faction. and then to expand on why? "because her family/country fought in the occupation and she loves her family/country". from there we learn she's nationalistic and places value of lineage. then you could say — "she enjoys history and geography because it allows her to better appreciate her country. she cares deeply about all ferelden peoples, and has studied techniques from avaar and chasind communities". and you can keep branching out and expanding from there. and once you've exhausted that thread, move on to a diff one! "elspeth is nervous around mages". why? "because her religion tells her to and shes never thought to question it." why? etc etc etc.
alternatively, i find it really helpful to find an overlining theme in the type of media im working with/creating. sometimes its easy (baldurs gate 3 has a confirmed theme of autonomy vs authority, da4 will have a confirmed theme of regret, etc) but if its not as clear cut or your designing your own original world, its fine and great to take your own creative interpretation of things and run with it. for example, origins for me is very reminiscent of loss of innocence and war. inquisition is, to me, about personhood and losing it to your own mythology. once you've got a theme it can really help help translate into a cohesive story you want to tell and a character you want as an outlet. and since the character will be thematiclly relevant, you might also find it easier for them to connect to the cast/setting/story etc.
sorry this is so long, but i hope you gained something out of all this word salad lmao. one more thing i want to mention — its also fine to NOT do any of this. sometimes i get overwhelmed feeling like i have to come up with a unique/multi-faceted character every time i go into characterization, and virtually 100% of the time its Never that deep. if you find yourself getting stressed or overwhelmed, remind yourself that its perfectly fine to dream up a simple and straightforward character who makes you happy, and let the rest come to you as your character goes forth into the story. sometimes simplicity is best because you arent held down by the restrictions you've placed on them yet.
sending love, i hope this helped !!!!!! if you have any more questions or just want to chat, feel free to send another ask or slide into my dms ! ❤️❤️❤️
#i hope this is coherent lol i wrote half of this late last night and the rest early this morning#always good to remember that writing characters is the equivalent of playing with dolls and unless your a professional writer#you should always prioritize having fun and experimenting with them in a lab lol#everything else comes second !!!

i am about to make everyone so regretful you followed me ...
tmi history thoughts confession time... sometimes i wonder if pants being associated with men and some kind of skirt being associated with women, unless both sexes wear skirts... is because in the past women were just going out and squatting to pee. Outside or over a chamber pot or something similar. And yeah it's easier in a skirt. Not impossible in pants or shorts at all, but there is still always that piss on your clothes risk unless you step all the way out.
it seems trivial at first but then you go to live your life day in day out without bathroom facilities and it suddenly becomes an issue enough to totally re-design your clothes around it
For certain kinds of dresses/skirts especially I think it for sure was about it being a patriarchal culture where women were meant to look like they were more decorative if they wanted to look richer/more womanly/feminine... but so many lower class women DID work. And worked manual labor too, plenty of times more or equal to the men. From paintings I can see they did shit like tie up their skirts up the middle to make pants effectively, but still wore skirts. Maybe it was just about ease of peeing while female, without modern bathroom set ups.
I have no idea what they were wearing under the skirts though. If it involved undergarment shorts or something then that blows up my theory. Only for women in the real early days of sex-differentiated clothing though -- once something gets going for a practical purpose, it can really easily spin out to be a cultural thing to emphasize difference between the sexes to emphasize different cultural ideas about them, social roles, and that kind of thing.
big argument against what i just said is that i can imagine a garment where it's like pants, but unbuttons like those pjs with the flaps (u know what i mean hopefully) giving free access to squat pee without risk with a simple unbuttoning process. Perhaps the ancestors didn't go for that without covering it up with a skirt, though, because it looks so fucking stupid. Universal truth. So skirt as solution to the issue for women still wins out.
disclaimer: i never went to college and I don't really know what i am talking about with history or sociology or whatever this is
i am just a humble lesbian feminist who kept trying to find records of some culture out there without any sexism
sometimes i think on our own planet, with our own species, patriarchy was just too old. it probably developed while other hominids were still around. before we were even homo sapien maybe ourselves.
and the ability and motive for men to create it over and over was just too high because of how human pregnancies are so risky and debilitating.... and because it is just so easy to look at the one who gives birth as having more to do with raising the children. And its also easy to look at rate of death and pain in childbirth, pain with menstruation and say, hm maybe women are cursed somehow. I don't think it's right but I see why people kept drawing the conclusions they did.
so any "matriarchy" is at best a patriarchy that swung egalitarian but still have cultural artifacts from some far older patriarchy... and still has separated roles for men and women where the women do usually get the "child care" end of the deal
it gets difficult to even say what we mean when we say matriarchy
i might measure matriarchy with the following
level of woman-positive stories/beliefs common to the people, and lack of woman-negative stories
possible presence of negative stories/beliefs warning against men taking power over women, promoting men acting right
leadership is either all-woman or culturally understood to be typically a woman thing. leadership means making decisions, having property ownership in her name if any and bloodlines traced through her, and access (possibly exclusive access) to the right to use violence and means to use violence, with women in these roles directly or as the order-giver
women get to have whatever role they want. men maybe can have whatever role they want but maybe are expected to do something specific like fish or something i don't know... basically it still counts as a matriarchy to me even if they have some amount of sexism (gender) in roles as long as the penalty of lost role-mobility/flexibility is paid by the men, not women
Ok update i forgot about some factors such as horses and also about togas. see notes for more confusion by me.
