╭⋅Ok so, Ushijima’s first reaction to hearing the news of the pregnancy would be one of quiet shock, we know he's not someone who shows his emotions easily, but his stoic nature would briefly falter. ╭⋅And his immediate response wouldn’t be anger or frustration, but rather a cold, calculating silence as he processes the situation, quickly shifting into a mindset based on logic and practicality. ╭⋅His approach would be very solution-driven, focusing more on what he sees as the "right" decision rather than his or your emotional considerations. ╭⋅His face during the whole encounter would remain neutral, almost distant, as if he’s separated himself from the emotional aspect of the decision. ╭⋅He really loves you but it's really hard for him to come to terms with the pregnancy, so he makes the harsh decision to break up with you right away. ╭⋅Even with all of this going on he still cares about you, so he decides to trust in Tendou’s ability to be a supportive figure, resulting on Ushijima sending him to check on you. ╭⋅He would ask him not to mention it was his idea, but deep down, he wishes you notice it was beacuse of him and hopes that Tendou’s visits could somehow make up for his own absence. ╭⋅He wouldn’t ask Tendou to say anything specific, but he’d want to make sure you were okay, even if he couldn’t be the one to do so.

You and Ushijima Wakatoshi had been together for over a year, your love growing slowly yet deeply. But everything changed one rainy afternoon when you found out you were pregnant.
The revelation hit you like a tidal wave, and as you tried to process it, a part of you hoped he would be there to comfort you. But when you told him, his response was not what you expected. Ushijima, in his usual calm and collected manner, looked at you with a distant expression. His voice was firm, unwavering.
“We’re only in our third year of high school,” he said, the words falling from his lips like heavy stones. “This will interfere with both of our futures. I don’t think it’s the right time for us to keep this child.”
His words stung, and the silence that followed felt suffocating. You knew he valued his future—his volleyball career, his ambitions—but you had hoped that he would see beyond that. His lack of emotion made it worse; it felt as though he had already made up his mind without considering your feelings.
“I’m sorry,” he said softly, his eyes not meeting yours. “I think it’s best for us to end things here.”
Your heart shattered at his words. You had never imagined he would be the one to break up with you over something like this. As you nodded through your tears, the weight of his decision crashed down on you. The breakup was abrupt, leaving no room for discussion. And just like that, Ushijima was gone.
The weeks that followed were brutal. You tried to keep things normal, but everything felt different. The halls of school seemed emptier without him by your side. The emotional toll of the breakup combined with the pregnancy made everything seem like an impossible burden.
But then something strange started happening. Every lunch, Tendou Satori—Ushijima’s teammate and your former acquaintance—would show up at your table, bringing you lunch. At first, you didn’t understand why he was doing this. You weren’t close friends, and you never had much of a relationship outside of knowing each other through Ushijima. His presence at your lunch table was odd, almost invasive.
Tendou, with his usual playful grin, would sit down across from you, handing you the lunch he'd brought. “Hey, thought you might like some company,” he’d say casually. “How’s your day going?”
It was strange, to say the least. You couldn’t figure out why he was doing this. You weren’t sure if it was out of friendship or some other reason. But as the days passed and Tendou continued to show up, you began to notice something—he seemed genuinely concerned for you, his usual teasing demeanor softened whenever he talked to you.
It made you wonder—did Ushijima ask him to check on you? You couldn't bring yourself to ask, and Tendou never mentioned anything about it. You tried to push the thought out of your mind, but the nagging feeling remained. Despite the oddity of the situation, you couldn’t help but appreciate his presence. At least someone was there, even if it was awkward.
The lunches with Tendou weren’t easy, though. Between his jokes and attempts to lighten the mood, there was always the heavy weight of your breakup with Ushijima that lingered in the air. You could tell that Tendou wasn’t trying to fix anything, he was just trying to keep things normal for you. But it wasn’t normal. It was just a reminder of everything that had happened.
You missed Ushijima—his stoic nature, his quiet support, the way he always seemed so sure of everything. It hurt to think that he had made his decision so easily, without considering you. And yet, here you were, stuck with his teammate trying to fill the silence he left behind.
Each day, you fought with the conflicting emotions swirling inside you. You wanted to be strong for yourself, but you also longed for the support you thought you would get from the person who mattered most—Ushijima.
But for now, Tendou’s little lunchtime visits were the closest you had to a connection with him. And even though it was strange and awkward, you couldn’t help but hold on to the small hope that one day, Ushijima would find the courage to face you again.

Tumblr media
contains: 3k+ words (lmao don't even know I can write this long). no warnings for now except for: mentions of illness and death, classism, ushjima's pov
summary: Ushjima had a feeling that this would be, if not, one of the best days of his life, because he's finally going to ask the princess to finally quit being a knight. But soon enough, those came crumbling as the royal physician had news — you don't have much time to live.
end note: idfk how I manage to write 3k+ words of this supposed to be word dump from here but eh, knight ushi my beloved <3 also I posted this on ao3 as well if you prefer to read there

Tumblr media
Becoming a knight was never Ushijima’s dream nor was it something he thoroughly enjoyed. Sure, serving the royal family and protecting the common folks had its benefices: hefty pay, the recognition and utmost respect but in truth, it doesn't hold a candle to what he actually dreamt of when he was younger.
To become a farmer faraway from the feuds of varying countries that happen almost every week, faraway from the gossips that sweeps the entire land, most importantly faraway from his relatives that would always degrade his entire being even now that he has became one of the respectable knight of the entire country.
Ushjima shakes off that thought, none of that would matter after this, they would no longer bother him and he would finally achieve his lifelong dream after his conversation with the princess. He stole a glance to the window on the side, various carriages entering the palace, shouts of guards and maids to check the cargos.
Ah, that's right, the spring festival is coming. In a few days, the grandest of events would be held in the capital: street performers would crowd the streets along with carts with various trinkets, foods and clothes, and of course the highlight of the event was the fireworks show, oh how he missed those festivities, a time when he wasn't a slave of the battlefield.
The festivities don't end there though, it's a week-long celebration that coincides with the founding of the country so naturally it'll be more grandeur than the common festival. And at the end of the week, a ball would be held at the palace of the king and queen for the nobilities.
Ushijima looks forward to the upcoming event, this time he'd finally got the chance to enjoy the events in the capital without being held up by another declaration of war from some country he isn't even aware of. Finally he could also enjoy the ball without being restricted to his armor and guarding the royal family, furthermore he would be free now to interact with the nobles his age that he had befriended over the years.
He would thoroughly enjoy the spring festival this year but for now he must make his way to your room to put his plan into action.
The walk towards the princess’ room was long since she lived in a completely different wing as the other members of the royal family (he doesn't know why though but that knowledge is completely beneath him).
His mind was suddenly bombarded with the thoughts of his journey when he was starting to become a knight. It truly wasn't a dream of his when he was still a child. Picking up a sword and decapitating the nation's enemy doesn't really thrill him as much as harvesting the wheat he worked so hard to grow, the wheat which he read books how to properly take care of.
Ushijima used to hear his relatives and the other kids call him strange, strange for wanting something simple, something only plebeians would enjoy, instead of aspiring greater things like his cousin who is on his way to become a professor in the royal academy. Strange for not using the authority he has, he isn't a common folk, he's the son of a count, therefore he should act like those prim and perfect nobles he always saw during the spring ball.
In all honesty, Ushijima thought about it once, while he was still studying in the royal academy. His friend, Tendou, had asked him before if he would want to assume his position as the count, rule his designated area and then get married to one of the daughters of the aristocrats.
It is a common occurrence, a cyclical outcome for sons and daughters born from nobility. Ushijima could say for certain that choosing that route would be the most stable out of the others. You'd never fear being starved or being one of those poor beggars in the street or worse, be subjected to discrimination because of your occupation or social status.
Yet, as fascinating as it sounds, Ushijima only answered that it wasn't a lifestyle he would see himself in the long run. Sure, nobility had it easy in terms of extravagance and respect but underneath it all, there is the unavoidable situation in which you must shake hands and bump shoulders with the other aristocrats.
And those nobles aren't opponents he would like to face, ever. In contrast to what he's used to during the war: clashes of swords upon swords, cannons from either side ringing in your ears and by the end of it the soldiers who remain standing upon the piles of dead bodies, will be declared the victor.
This battle however, is one where you would face death agonizingly slow, it's a battle of insults laced into sickeningly sweet smiles, selfish schemes in the guise of friendly companionship it's a tedious, methodological war that only leaves you something worse than death — public humiliation.
Being casted like an insignificant pebble on the side of the road, with death you can escape the contempt from a thousand of people but with this kind of punishment it strips you off your morale and wrings you dry of life from the inside out.
Aside from that, you would always be subjected to constantly watching your back — enemies from different sides of the country, threatening you to hand over all your possessions — and even if he was as strong as he is now, a person can only take so many threats before he breaks and will inevitably lead to his demise.
Tendou said he was being a pessimist, obviously he doesn't know much about the workings of nobilities as well as how awful socializing with them actually is, if that was his reply. Nothing is worth romanticizing the rich when they're just like the common folks: same people, different classes, same jewels, different sparkle.
Speaking of his friend, after he's been relieved from his post he would visit him, talk about the past, if Tendou had ever managed to court that lady he would so fondly tell him about or if his pastry business is doing well these days. Perhaps he could even tell him about what he's been doing since the last time they met, the nations he visited (if only for knightly duties), and he might as well share stories about the princess he's serving.
It felt ethically wrong to share information about your employer though, but it's not like Tendou would tell anyone, he's capable of keeping secrets and he's actually kind (if he wasn't teasing him most of the time). Besides, it's not like the princess has any private details that would ruin her reputation if leaked out and most especially, it's not like she has any respectable reputation to begin with.
Ah, why did that do something to his chest though?
Does he actually feel bad for thinking that?
Maybe.
It's not like the princess is a bad employer or a bad person overall.
So why does it seem like he dislikes her?
Well, Ushijima remembers the root of it very clearly. Before he became a knight and all, he always believed that royalties had this certain atmosphere surrounding them: the everlasting countenance of complete authorization, regal and graceful, a picture-perfect leader ruling his subjects. He admires the way they hold themselves, completely different from most nobles. Ushijima could even understand why most commoners perceive them as Gods and Goddesses, it's in the way they carry themselves truly.
But all of a sudden, when he finally acquired the position of becoming a royal member’s guard, the princess' personal knight, his beliefs had been crushed ever so cruelly by his employer nonetheless.
She's so unlike the king and queen he greeted a few hours prior. Here in her personal garden, the princess has her head hung low as if she's afraid of him, as if she's the one who has been recently knighted, cowering behind her-what seems to be-head maid. To make matters worse, he spotted dirt in the hem of his gown, dirt that looks like the soil from the garden, dirt that looks like you would only get that when you run through the field like some naive little child.
Oh, how unrefined, so undignified.
For that, for ruining his belief, Ushijima decides at that moment that he doesn't like you.
Then again, besides his perfect logic about royalty that was disintegrated by you, it's not like the princess is a bad employer or generally a bad person.
Contrary to rumors and accusations, the princess gave him full autonomy of her side of the palace, let him say or do what he wants to without having her status threatened to use on him. Unlike most of the nobility employers he heard from his fellow knight, the princess doesn't throw things towards him—throw expensive vases and cost them injury, even worse their life, she doesn't insult him and put him down because of his stature and by God, she doesn't use him for sexual purposes like most lady in power does.
She's
a rare gem honestly. Diamond in the rough sort of thing.
When her father is a cunning and calculating leader, she's an intelligent but still a bit naive princess.
When her mother is a strong-willed schemer, she's a timid, ‘can't-hurt-a-single-animal’ kind of soul.
When her brothers are active and strong fighters, she's a nonchalant mediator, the one who prefers a soothing cup of tea in solving national disputes.
If not for his initial beliefs about royalty and the disaster first meeting, he thinks that you are actually suited for your role as a princess. Despite thinking that you could solve battles with a submissive facade and hot tea, Ushjima admits that you actually make excellent plans and are able to twist the situation in your favor (which is a really great feat now that he thinks about it.)
Apart from that, he actually enjoys your company, if he's not letting his unfavorable opinion of you get the best of him, that is.
Ushijima remembered a time when the wheel of the carriage broke while you're on the way home after a visit from the boutique. He was actually having a mental conversation with himself about the purpose of this, because if he remembers correctly, there's a royal tailor that they can call to the palace so they don't have to go outside. But alas, he resigned to his fate, one of your childish whims he supposed.
The driver told you that it'll take a while, instead of threatening him to be removed from his position (just like your second brother did before) you just smiled and told him that you'll be fine, you can entertain yourself from the meantime.
It's strange and it's oddly admirable. So unbefitting of your title.
It never fails to make him curious if you really are your father's and mother's daughter when you don't even act remotely to them. Even more so when you're now headed to the field of flowers across the road, from your head maid, he learned that you love flowers and the garden where you receive your guests is what you tend to personally.
Again, strange but oddly admirable.
You, uncaring of your very expensive, very glamorous gown, sat on the ground with so much grace that it actually feels out of place. Ushijima offered you to stand up so he could take off his coat and you could sit on it instead but again, just like you did with the driver, you smiled and rejected his offer, then you turned your attention to the flower beside you and talk to it like it magically has the ability to converse with you.
If anyone can read his mind they would've imprisoned him for lese-majeste because all he's thinking about is why in the actual hell do you have to sit on a dirty field just to talk to some flowers who aren't even capable of replying to you?
Are you actually an imbecile pretending to be wise when there is someone who's in power in front of you?
This is honestly another reason why he doesn't like you, even if your second brother is rash and kind of childish sometimes, he wouldn't do stupid things like this. Your brother would much rather die than sit or lie in the ground full of dirt and things he doesn't even know where it came from.
And then all of a sudden his internal turmoil had halted, you were calling out to him, in that soft, silvery voice. He can practically remember the words you uttered clearly: “I know you are thinking that I am quite strange” quite is an understatement, he would like to tell you that in fact you are absolutely, without a doubt, strange.
“I get that a lot. To everyone else, when you are in a position such as mine, doing things like this
” you plucked the flower you were holding before, twisting it side by side “Is unbecoming and inappropriate. That is why most nobles tend to hide what they truly wanted” you lift the flower to your nose, closing your eyes to enjoy its scent.
Ushjima knew what you meant. It usually happens for most nobles. For instance, he remembered his old friend at the academy, Semi. He's a future viscount, sent to the academy to hopefully assume his father's position when he comes of age.
Semi admitted that he doesn't want to be a viscount, he wants to pursue his passion in music, he doesn't want to be caged in a life of farce pleasantries. He wants to be liberated, be like those musicians in the street who perform not out of money but because they want to share their passion for the art and to bring joy to the people who would stop to listen.
Although it was an absolutely excellent dream, Semi said that it wasn't realistic, his father and mother even put down his ambition like it's some type of taboo, even running away isn't an option because his family can still use their money to bring him back.
Ushijima admires Semi for that, and even if deep inside he knows that the advice he gave wasn't reassuring and even comforting, he hoped that eventually he could achieve his dream.
All of this to say is that nobles look down on you the more you act like the commoners, more like the people beneath their feet. They would scoff at you when you showed them even a hint of what you truly desire to do, they would tell you that ‘you're of power why waste yourself into something so insignificant?’ As he said before, socializing and breathing in the same air with the nobles is enduring a long-standing battle of toxicity.
You opened your eyes now, caressing the petals of the flower, smiling to yourself “But to me, it is even strange not doing what you want”
That hit Ushijima the most. He remembers being the odd one out from the rest of his family, their passion is gaining power and his was to be a simple farmer. Even if it's truly something he finds joy in doing, his relatives would always tell him it's a strange thing to dream of, because he's the son of a count. But now, he's trying to fulfill his lifelong dream even if he's one of the country's respected knights. It is very strange.
Huh. he realized, you're right.
For the first time since he met you, Ushijima might just understand your ways of acting and thinking.
His recollection of the past came to a screeching halt the moment he became face to face to the door of your room. There was a man's voice inside, a voice that doesn't belong to you or to the other knights that are under you, it was the voice of the royal physician.
What was he doing here?
As someone who's the knight of the very person who owns this room, he shouldn't be standing in front of the door and most importantly, he shouldn't be eavesdropping on your evidently private conversation. But the voice of the royal physician cut him off before he could even process how unethical this is.
“I’m really sorry princess, I will try my best to find a cure-”
Cure? What does that mean?
Why will he find a cure? Is the princess sick?
“Do not worry yourself about me, I am simply well aware that my time in this world wouldn't be for long
” he heard someone sniffle “...And please do not cry. I am very thankful that you are willing to go to such lengths but I do not want to burden you with piling work from my family.”
Ushijima can imagine the smile you usually wear when you are conversing with someone, the indifference in your voice and especially the way you still prioritize your family above your own well-being — it's making him mad, hands curling into a fist as he dig his nail deeper into his palm.
Why is he mad though?
Why would he be mad?
He doesn't even like you, why would he feel such things?
“I do not care if I'll die, no one wants me to live anyways” You said it quietly that the doctor wouldn't hear you but to him, to Ushijima he heard it loud and clear, so distinct that he wishes he didn't have to hear it in the first place.
He stumbled backwards, he understands now, perhaps the reason why he is feeling angry is because you can speak about your impending death without an ounce of emotion.
That it's like you had embraced the idea of succumbing to your illness, instead of threatening or breaking down or to beg them to find a cure, like a normal person would. And yet, you just speak so lightly of your situation, smiled and welcomed your miserable future.
And then there's this miniscule voice inside his head, one that flashes him the memory of you and him in the field of flowers, every now and then, it tells him that perhaps the real reason why Ushijima felt this way is because he can no longer serve and protect the lady who have stolen his heart without him even knowing.

Tumblr media
The car ride back home is quiet...too quiet for Ushijima's liking, the air is so condescendingly heavy that it is hard to inhale in.
Ushijima is thinking, he taps his fingers on his thighs when he is thinking, the two of you were coming back home from Tendou's birthday party.
A particular question from Tendou had stuck a nerve to Ushijima.
"Hey Y/n, do you think Ushijima is hard to love?" he had asked and you had done nothing, but laugh as he looked at you with hopeful eyes that you would say something.
It wasn't really your fault, you were kind of drunk at that time, barely registering the words, but Ushijima was there; sober enough and now he was driving while you were curled up in the back-seat, passed out.
Ushijima is confident when is comes to most things he is stoic and reserved and oftentimes too perfect to be human.
But Ushijima Wakatoshi has no clue what to do, when it come to you. Oh boy, Ushijima thinks you are something too good to be true, the way you stick around even after his half-hearted replies makes him think that you are some sort of angel you descended from heaven.
When the car comes to a hault, Ushijima picks you up easily, his build making you feel like barely anything, he smiles softly as he sees you involuntarily huddling close to his chest.
He put you on the bed and leaves to freshen up.
Within twenty minutes your eyes open, mind still hazy from that hangover, you look around to find Ushijima, light peaks from the door, you get up and follow it and end up in the living room with Ushijima watching the T.V
"You are still up?" you whisper groggily.
Ushijima looks at your for a second and then looks back at the screen, "yeah...I couldn't sleep."
You frown at his statement, he is very adamant about his sleep schedule, "is something wrong?" You whisper sitting on the couch and draping the blanket over you as well.
"It's nothing," he answers.
"It must be something," you hum while resting you head on his chest, closing your eyes at the comforting sound of his breathing.
"Y/N...am I hard to love?" he asks breaking the ice which causes you to look up to him.
"Of course not, what makes you think that?" you ask as your eyebrows knit in confusion.
He sighed and rubbed his eyes, "It's just that...y'know what, forget it."
You sat up straight and cradled his face in your palms, "'Toshi, talk to me."
"When Tendou said I am unlovable...you didn't say otherwise, I don't blame you."
The gears in your mind turned and a bulb lit up when you got what he was saying.
"Aww Toshi, I am sorry, I was too drunk to answer that time," you whispered while climbing onto his lap.
You stared at his caramel eyes, "Toshi you are the best s/o one can wish for, you take care of me and others," you planted a kiss on his nose giggling when you saw a very small smile crack through for a millisecond.
"You are so strong and buff, extremely handsome and so incredibly sexy," you wiggled your eyebrows suggestively, "I would nom you up if I could," you said and kissed his cheek.
He buried his face in the crook of your neck, a low rumble of his voice sending shivers down your spine, " 'M sorry...I just...I can't help overthink, what if we end up like my parents?"
You held his face, up from your neck and kissed him, his large hands cradling the small of your back.
" 'Toshi, one thing I can assure you, I am not going to leave you in a million years. You have nothing to be insecure of, in fact, I should be the insecure one here, a volleyball player with thousands of fans settled for someone like me, I cherish every moment with you, Mr Ushiwaka."
His bottom lip quivered a little and he buried his head in your neck again, "I love you."
"Love you too, my big teddy bear, now let's get you to sleep or else you will be all pouty when you miss your work-out time."

pov: you want your daughters to be on the same team, they don’t even go to the same school
Tumblr media
“She’s very small,” Ushijima said as he stared down at Keina, your newborns small form.
“She’s half an hour old,” you reminded him from the hospital bed.
“Yes, but was Airi this small?”
“No, but who knows, she might end up being taller than her big sister.”
“Maybe,” he agreed, then looked back down at Keina and began to memorize the details on her face. “She’s beautiful.”
“Yeah, she is.”
“She looks like you.”
“Right now, not sure if that’s a good thing.”
“You look as beautiful as ever,” he promised and you laughed.
“Whatever you say.” He walked over with your child and sat down at the edge of the bed. “What time did you say Satori is coming with Airi?”
“At three.”
“Good. I’m excited for you to meet your sister, Keina,” you sang.
“Do you think they’ll be close?”
“I think they’ll be best friends.”
“Me too.”
***
“Leave me alone, Airi!” Keina screamed and tried to go into her room to escape her sister only for her to follow.
“Why are you doing this!”
“Why do you care!”
“Because-” Airi stopped mid-sentence and looked around to see her room was once again filled with volleyball posters. ‘How long have those been there?’ “You planned this?”
“What are you talking about?” Airi only pointed to the poster of the Niiyama team after they made it to nationals last year and the many other Olympic players that came from the school. “Did you think I just selected it out of the blue?”
“You picked the school that beat us in nationals last year!”
“They beat you because you don’t know the correct timing for a risky move.”
“You did that on purpose.”
“What? I actually chose the team that went to nationals? What a surprise! Who wouldn’t? Not everything is about you Airi.”
“This obviously is. And you’re such a liar too! You said volleyball isn’t fun anymore but now you’re about to play on the team of our rivals just to spite me. I mean what kind of sister are you!”
“Really?” she said coldly. “Airi you don’t even fucking like me.”
“Wha-”
“I know you think I’m annoying and that you laugh at me with your friends when you think I’ve gone upstairs. I’m not as stupid as you think I am.”
“Kei, I didn’t-”
“I don’t care,” she cut her off. “I’m kinda done with this whole sister thing anyways.”
“What?”
“Oh and since you brought it up, when I said volleyball wasn’t fun anymore, I meant it wasn’t fun with you.”

I couldn’t have forgotten pt.2  (Ushijima imagine)
Warnings: slight swearing, slight ushjima timeskip spoilers!
Pairing: Ushijima & fem! reader, mentions of bokuto and hinata
Genre: angst to fluff
Part 1
You got your keys and almost headed out without anyone seeing you when bokuto noticed and stood up.
“Wait y/n” he shouted as he went outside
Ushijima was to engrossed to the match on the screen he didn’t even notice you until he saw hinata blushing. That’s when he turned to see you and he was speechless, the way your hair just fell perfectly on your shoulder, the way the dress seemed to hug your curves just right.
You didn’t even bother to look at him as bokuto came back in and gave you the teams’ presents.
She looks amazing but why is she dressed up? Presents? Why would bokuto have presents? Wait shit, no don’t tell me, shit I couldn’t have forgotten, ushijima thought
“Happy birthday y/n, these are all from us” he said as he gave you a bunch of neatly wrapped presents. They all rushed to give you hugs and congratulations. You thanked them all and took your gifts into the bedroom with ushijima hot on your heels. He saw you put the gifts on the bed and was thinking of how he could make it up to you but the words couldn’t come out of his mouth.
“I’m going out with my friends and I don’t know if I’ll come home tonight so don’t wait up for me” you sighed with your back to ushijima “you aren’t going to say anything? do you even love me anymore?” He didn’t say anything, he was tongue tied, of course he loves you and he wanted to shout it out but he just couldn’t. He couldn’t find the right words since he never knew how to express his feelings. You didn’t want to face him and the possible disappointment, you just didn’t want to accept that he might leave you. You took the silence as an answer. “okay, um my friend is waiting outside, I’ll come back in the morning to pack my things.” You left on the verge of tears but you were tired of crying and feeling sad, you deserved to have fun.
You bid your farewells to the boys in your living room and got into your friends’ car.  Turning off your phone, you headed to what you seemed like every club in town. Loud edm music rang through you ears as you danced with your friends, pushing away any creep who wanted to grind against you. Your friends had bought bottle service and all the attention was on you. You felt like you were on top of the world and no one could stop you.  But a whole lot of birthday shots later you blacked out, the next day you found yourself in your friend’s house. It was about 7 am and you had a horrible hangover and you noticed some pills on the counter that your friend had left for you, you thanked her mentally and hopped into the shower.
The water that hit your skin felt like heaven but then a heavy weight appeared on your shoulders. Ushijima. Shit. You leaned against the cold tile as you sighed, remembering last nights fight. You gathered your things and headed to your shared home. You stood at the door not wanting to open the door and face him but you have to rip the bandage while you can. You walked in and you were tackled to the floor into the biggest hug ushijima had ever given you.
“I’m so sorry y/n, yes I forgot your birthday and yes I said things I didn’t really mean, but please forgive me” “you are the most important person in my life and I cannot lose you, I was an asshole yesterday but please don’t leave me” “when you left yesterday I made the guys leave and I was alone and realized I had been ignoring you these past weeks, this is exactly how my parents started to act toward each other before the divorce and I can’t lose you, please” he said into your chest, his arms wrapped tightly around your waist, he held on as if you were going to disappear. You were confused ushijima was never this loving, you began to feel a wet spot on your chest as he looked up to you with small tears in his eyes.
“Baby no, please don’t cry, look yes I was mad and you did say some really mean things but hey look at me” you held his face “we are not your parents, I love you and I’m sorry for not staying and trying to fix things, it was childish” you began to feel guilty
“Just please let me fix this” ushijima begged
“Okay” you kissed his forehead as he helped you get up from the floor. He led you into the dining room. You smelled an amazing aroma, pancakes. Roses and balloons decorated your place. You sat down and he began to bring out the amazing breakfast he had spent all morning making. A few tears fell from your eyes
“y/n, love is everything okay? Do you not like it?” ushijima’s voice coated in worry
“No, it’s not that it’s just” you sniffled “thank you toshi” you pulled him into a passionate kiss but he pulled away nervously “let’s eat first before the food gets cold” he stated.
After the amazing breakfast he had made you, you guys were cuddling. He seemed a bit nervous and fidgety. “Are you okay toshi?” you questioned him
“actually, I wanted to ask you if um” he scratched the back of his neck nervously. He was never one to be nervous which just made you wonder. You felt a pit in your stomach. Was he going to break up? Weren’t we okay? Maybe he realized he doesn’t feel the same wa- “come with me to our next tournament” ushijima said while snapping you from your train of thought
“I just want you to be close to me, and you waiting here for me just doesn’t seem right. I want you to be with me if I lose or win no matter what, I need you by my side so will you come?”
“OF COURSE!!!” you basically yelped as you hugged him. You were excited to be able to see the world with the love of your life. “Thank you, and I promise to always be by your side “He sighed in relief as he smiled into your neck, his body less tense than before knowing soon you will be his forever and that the little black velvet box, he has hidden away in his drawer is proof of that promise.

Abysmal [Ushijima Wakatoshi x Reader]
Old works being dusted from the Google Drive Archives.
CW: Angst, canon!UshiWaka? (pretty sure)
Tumblr media
It was hard to tellïżœïżœalways has been—when it came to feelings from Ushijima. He was a very stoic person, especially for someone his age, but you understood as much as you can knowing his childhood. That was just the way he was built, and you were okay with that. For the most part...
On those personally gloomy days, you wished Ushjima could pick up on the hints you quietly put out, hoping he would give you the reassurance you needed. It wasn’t something that most people worried about; unfaithfulness. For you, it was more whether he could do better or not.
For Ushijima, love was measured in frequency. You were able to measure the things he loved by the amount of time he did something. Volleyball, for instance, was one of his loves. He practiced day in and day out. Watched all the tournaments and games, went to every training camp offered and never once skipped a club meeting, not even when he had a cooling pad stuck to his forehead and a tissue stuffed up his nose.
There’s this cafe in the city he loved. It was a place he often went to all the time as well. He would try a new cafe if you offered, but if he were to pick, this would be the one; his go-to. It was attached to a little family-owned market with a delicious bakery that his favourite pastries came from. He never got tired of his usual order, and he always picked the same spot to sit at, if available. If not, he’d idly wait at the counter until his spot was cleared or he wouldn’t sit in the cafe otherwise.
So if you think about it, why was it so hard to tell if he loved you? You were a frequent person he saw almost daily. Being the silent type he is, even after two years of dating, you found it hard to pick out the signs that clearly flashed, “I LOVE YOU!” from him. You would think after all this time, he would at least hold your hand in public, but he didn’t. Sometimes, you worried that he was actually ashamed of being seen with you in public, but that couldn’t be it as he was often the one who asked if you wanted to go see a movie at the theatre or to grab a snack from the aforementioned cafe.
You’ve even considered the possibility that it was just hard for him to say those three words, but again, on a gloomy day like this, it was simply something you needed to hear.
Were you boring? Was he pitying you? Or was he simply just trying to keep himself occupied with you?
Looking across the table at Ushijima who was busy revising for a test, you were just unable to read him. You closed your eyes and sighed, picking up your assignments and shuffling them into your bag.
“I’m gonna head home,” you smiled half-heartedly.
Ushijima watched you stand up, giving a curt nod before returning his gaze back to his work. You waited a bit, hoping he would at least bid you goodbye, knowing an offer to walk you home was way too much to expect.
Nothing.
He said nothing, so you walked off, weaving between people and bookshelves as you looked for the library exit.

"SERVICE ACE! From Japan's Canon, Ushijima Wakatoshi!" You pumped a fist while watching your beloved boyfriend from the enormous screen few feet away from you. The entire sports bar cheered with joy when he snatched a point from their opponent. You sighed before downing the entire glass of drink you've ordered.
You've been dating Wakatoshi since he was a third year in Shiratorizawa. You didn't expect him to confess to you before the interhigh qualifiers. He bluntly told you what he felt whenever he sees you. Coach Washijo told you that he doesn't mind if their Ace dates you, as long as you won't distract Wakatoshi from his traning.
"Y/N-chan," Satori called before sitting on the empty stool next to you. "Did Wakatoshi-kun call you yet?" he asked to which you shook your head. "Eh? But he said he'd be calling you soon. It's like he has something to tell you." Your lips quivered while watching the droplets on the glass as it cascades. "O-Oi, what's the matter?"
"His manager called me," you began. You glanced at Satori before forcing a smile. "I think I'll have to let him go soon. I. . ." You sobbed before immediately brushing the tears from your cheeks. ". . .I don't want to hold him back."
"Y/N-chan, try to talk to him before you do anything you'll regret." He placed his elbows on the top of the counter before leaning his chin on the top of his hands. "You see, Wakatoshi-kun is not that good with expressing himself. That's why when he told me about what he feels whenever you're around, I thought 'ah, maybe Y/N-chan could help Wakatoshi-kun.'" Then, he smiled. "And you did help him. He smiles more often and he's able to express himself a lot better than before."
You sobbed. "I. . . I haven't been able to call him for almost a month now."
"Ha? How about emails or messages?"
You shook your head. "None at all. S-Sometimes. . . no, lately. . . i-it feels like I'm nothing more than a fan of his." You wiped the tears on your cheeks. "Everytime I see him on the news or on livestreams like this, my heart hurts. I wanted to see him upclose. I wanted to feel his warmth again." You pursed your lips before looking at the red-hair next to you. "I understood that he's been doing all this to improve himself. . . to achieve his dreams, his father's dream. I understood what I signed up for. . . but. . ."
Satori gently caressed your back. "Have you told him about what you feel? Before your communication stopped."
"We were fine, Satori. We're fine. . ."
'I apologize, Y/N. Mother and grandmother wanted me to stay in Miyagi during my breaks. I've tried to visit you in Tokyo during our trainings, but I couldn't just leave our training center.'
". . .we're fine. . ."
'I'm sorry, Y/N. I've overslept. I've been spending more time improving my skills. The other day, a kid told me that volleyball is not entertaining.'
". . . I think. . ."
'I'm sorry, Miss L/N. Mr. Ushijima is currently not available. You could leave a message and I will just relay it to him.'
". . . I guess."
'Please leave a message after the beep.'
Satori sighed. "If your decision's final, there's an upcoming match between MSBY and Schweiden. It'll be held in Sendai."
"I. . . I know." You smiled bitterly. "I bought a ticket for that day," you've added before asking for another glass of beer. "This is painful as fuck."
Satori lowered his head. "I'm not sure if this will make you feel better, but I apologize for my bestfriend's actions." You smiled.
"MISS L/N, Mr. Ushijima still has to speak with several reporters and people. Are you willing to wait for him?" his manager asked. You nodded your head before looking at your shaking hands.
You were hoping that you'll receive a phone call from him when they arrive in Japan. Just like what he does during his first few years in the national team. But he didn’t.
You've greeted some of the people who recognized you. Some of them attended Shirtorizawa, others were from the university you used to attend. An hour later, you finally saw him. He stood still from where he was as he stare at you. He excused himself from his teammates before walking towards you.
You forced smile, but it immediately faltered. Tears began to spill from your eyes. "Y/N, what's wrong?"
"Toshi. . . I. . . I can't keep on waiting for you. . ." you sobbed. "I'm sorry. . . I know I've promised to always support you with your dreams, but what we have. . . what we have right now. . . it's something I wasn't anticipating."
"Oh. I. . . Understand."
For the last time you looked at his beautiful olive eyes. "I love you, Toshi," you said, almost a whisper before you turn your back from him. Your tears staining your cheeks.
Maybe you weren't ready for the kind of life he has right now. Maybe now's not the right time. Or maybe. . . Maybe you weren't the one meant for him.

Beautiful
Please can I have a emergency request ? Can I request Ushijima seing his s/o having a meltdown because his s/o is insecure about her body and reassure her female s/o please) - Anon (Emergency Request)
Pairing: Ushjima Wakatoshi x Fem!Reader
Warnings: ANGST!
A/N: I apologize on my behalf of not including emergency asks in my rules. I will do that soon after posting this. And I will not ever IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM deny an emergency request. I want you to know, whoever you are, that I know. I know the pain and the hurt you can get by looking at yourself. But, I want you to know. Don’t. You. Are. Beautiful. You. Are. Worth. It. As someone who has suffered these sort of thoughts, I want you to know I am here. I.AM. HERE. For anyone, man, girl, non-binary. I am here if you want to talk. I am here for you. So please. Stop. You are worth it. You are amazing. (Side note this is unedited because I felt the need to quickly need this in. I’ll review it later)
Tumblr media
It was hard, looking in the mirror. Looking at yourself. It hurt so much. You touched your body, groping at the parts you deemed ugly. Poking at your stomach and grabbing your thighs you let out a sigh. Tears formed in your eyes as you continued to stare at your reflection. You were embarrassed. You were ashamed. Ashamed of your body. Ashamed of your personality. Ashamed about everything. You tried, you tried so hard to see what other people saw.
“You’re beautiful.“
Where?
“You’re so smart?“
Is that why I almost failed my last test.
“You’re so nice.“
Then why do people not like me?
“Get over it.“
I’m trying.
“Stop complaining you’re making people feel bad about themselves!”
I’m sorry.
“Do you only care about what others think?“
I’m sorry.
Tears flowed down cheeks as your hands flopped to your sides. It hurt. Every goddamn day. It hurt. You weren’t looking for attention. You didn’t want it. But, why then. Why did you do this? Everyday. Everyday god ridden day.
Tears flowed down harshly, as you rubbed your cheeks with your arm. You weren’t beautiful. You weren’t smart. You weren’t anything. You were merely there. It made you question, why your boyfriend of 3 years stayed with you. By your side. It made no sense. He could have left her, for someone better. Someone prettier. Someone smarter. You were nothing. You could give him nothing. So why.
Sobs creeped out of your throat. “Why.” you hissed, “Why does it hurt so much!” You couldn’t even bare to look at yourself. Not at what you deemed ugly. Imperfect. Useless. No. You thought you were nothing. You were —
“Y/N?” you stopped, covering your bare body with your hands as Ushijima’s soft voice meet your ears. You knew you weren’t fast enough. Not to hide your tears. Or even fake a smile. You couldn’t do it anymore. It hurt too much.
“In here“ your voice was hoarse, to your ears. You let out a low laugh, even your voice was ugly.
“Y/N, baby?“ he whispered as he looked into the semi-dark room “What are you doing here.“ His eyes skimmed over your body, taking in every curve and every line.
“You’re naked.“ he stated, averting his eyes politely. There was a jab to your heart. Your own boyfriend couldn’t even look at you.
“We need to talk.“ you whispered, “Right now.“
“Would you like to put some clothes on?“ he suggested, motioning for the pile of clothes behind.
“Am I that...ugly.“ you looked up to him, fresh tears clung to your lashes. “Am I that ugly, you can’t see me naked?”
“Y/N — “
“I know that, Wakatoshi. I know.“ Oh gods she knew. “I know I’m not like other girls. I’m not thin. I’m not pretty. I’m not smart. I’m not — “
“Y/N.” he firmly said, walking up to, and grasping your shoulder, “Breathe.“
But, you didn’t want to. You couldn’t. Words raced in your head and heart, bringing itself to your mouth. Your heart bleed freely, as you saw the agitated look on his face.
“Y/N, count with me.“ He helped you. Counting each breath. One. Two. Three. One. Two. Three. One. Two. Three.
“Are you calm now.“ you liked that question. You were calm yes, your bleeding heart was slowly closing. But, were you okay. No. You weren’t.
“What do you want to talk about.“ he asked, motioning you to sit on the bed. He joined you.
“Why are you still with me?“ Ushjimia frowned at that question. It was uncanny to him. The real question was how could he not love you. He stared into your eyes, grasping your shoulder and placing your lips on his.
“I love you,“ he said, breathily onto your lips, “because I can’t not.“ You could tell he was struggling with his words.
“I love you because you are brave. And beautiful. And empathetic. I love you, Y/N,“ he took a deep breath resting your forehead on his, “I love you because, without you, I could not feel. Not the way you make me feel.“
It was a short and sweet explanation. Not in any way, shape, or form simplifying his love for you. No the love he felt for you was indescribable. Words were useless here. You sighed, leaning into his chest, as softer tears flowed down your cheeks.
You were not perfect.
That’s okay.
You were not happy, not all the time.
That’s okay.
You were not okay.
And that’s okay.
Because without the rain, how can we get rainbows? You can not have colors without black. You can’t have flowers until it rains. No one said, no one except yourself, you had to be okay. No. You were not okay. But, you were getting there. Because you knew, deep down in your heart, however bleeding and roughened it might be, that he loved you. And you loved him. And that was all you needed.
You curled into him, head basking into the slight warmth he provided.
You weren’t okay. But you were getting there. And you would do this together.

This misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and false accusations of Ushijima Wakatoshi
Hi howdy, not fanfic but a character essay I wrote for fun. Twitter wanted me to post it so I’m just gonna put it on here.
...... A popular question that comes up in the Haikyuu fandom is what character do you not like? Many will reply with answers on a copy-paste that everyone has seen before. Yamaguchi’s bullies, Tendou’s bullies, Bokuto’s middle school teammates, and well some deserved Terushimas. One character that also floats around in the comments and polls is that of Ushijima. Being a Shiratorizawa stan you could call me biased but I am more than aware of his flaws. People have valid reasons but, I also feel he is still blamed for unfair claims. The series has developed and blossomed very much but at one point Ushijima was horribly despised. The fandom doesn’t hold many grudges moving on from what he was, but that past tense still irks me in people’s words. That irking past tense leads to an in-depth analysis of Ushijima’s character looking at what the fandom still mentions about him. In other words, talking disproving, and explaining the misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and false accusations of Ushijima Wakatoshi.
The most common misinterpretations of Usihijima start the moment you lay eyes on him and really meet his character, his first appearance isn’t the brightest and either is his actual appearance. Ushijima isn’t the softest boy in the series clearly. A 6’2.6 (189.5 cm) giant with a blank stare and a flat expression. Some tend to get rubbed the wrong way just from seeing him and the first appearance of a character does mean a lot. The start of taking his looks the wrong way is the classic idea of judging a book by its cover. The thing about Ushijima’s cover though, is that the pages of his book aren’t the most pleasing either. Compare Ushijima to someone with his similar issue of Tanaka or even Tendou. The first thoughts seeing them are that they stand out negatively almost, the baldy with shark teeth and the dead-eyed redhead. The thing these two characters carry though vs Ushijima is stand out positive personality. They may look frighting but are truly delightful angels were it counts. Ushijima though looks fearful and his personality doesn’t help disprove this theory. He can be said to be judge filled and outright rude from his character interactions. These views have evidence to back them up, but they’re a view that doesn’t match up with what people say. Ushijima views himself above others but this is not carried with intentional rudeness. He knows his strengths and what he is good at, an overabundance of confidence is clear but isn’t always horrible. Interacting with Hinata and Kageyama for the first time is an example. He knows he has the ability to take the two on this isn’t something negative. Ushijima is just not denying his strengths and has evidence that he is powerful enough. Back to a book metaphor Usijima’s cover and contents don’t seem the best, but that comes from mindful skimming of what you may see. Don’t interpret the snippets for his entire being look and actually read before your final conclusion.
Misunderstandings and misinterpretations may be similar words in meanings and even synonyms but regarding this situation, they can be two different things. People will misinterpret Ushijima’s appearance and misinterpret what his actions really mean. People misunderstand the drive behind his actions and why he acts the way he does. Ushijima is a plain and simple boy he is in no way the most complex character but there is a layer of depth. He may like plain rice and not have a current concern but why is he like that? There is not exactly a given reason behind his personality but look at his past and it’s not the best. A mother who didn’t like the way he was trying to force change until his dad stepped in. That stepping in along with some love and inspiration helped Ushijima, but with a nasty divorce that didn’t last the longest. His father across the seas and gone from his life was still a sour topic for Toshi at 18, leaving it up to the imagination that it may still haunt him. Even if not the most dramatic it’s a shame if this doesn’t drive the smallest bit of sympathy from one learning this. One of the most believed and theorized headcanons that exist for his character involves him being autistic. This is in no way true but many admit they see autistic coding in his character and viewing him in this light, would make sense. The poor social behavior, bluntness, hyper fixation, and not liking things he doesn’t know of. Looking at him with this understanding changes things. Other characters that sometimes act this way are Atsumu and Kita from Inarizaki who share similar autistic-like attributes of Ushijima. All are blunt, sometimes rude, and social messes. But with all three of these characters adding this headcanon can help understand them a bit better. It gives them excused reasons for why they’re like this, but it’s not true. Overall this headcanon just helps give light, but a thing in canon that all these characters share isn’t the best past. Lack of parents for two and cruel people for another. Understanding them and what they’ve come from and maybe in a different view, truly can help maybe explain how they are and the way they act.
Lastly with Ushijima comes the false accusations of his character that are linked to the fandom’s misinterpretations and misunderstandings. We’ve all seen the joke. The overplayed and oh it was funny for four seconds joke of Usijima being Oikawa’s stalker. It’s one of the farthest things from the truth. It was funny but then got so carried away. The interaction and the saying, “you should have come to Shiratorizawa” can haunt dreams. No one fully belives it but some still take it wrongly or twist it for angst. Ushijima with blunt behavior as normal simply commented on skills. He was actually giving a complicated compliment in this. He was simply saying Oikawa had the skills to join and be part of his team. A team that was the powerhouse of the time who only allowed those in with strict scholarships. It was in no way stalking behavior. Praise the fandom for no Ushioi killing stalking crossovers just for the poor taste of the joke. Another false claim is he’s sort of an empty robotic character. Volleyball or nothing. He does slightly follow this claim but he can show to have relationships and have some other interests. He has friends of his team that he talks to and associates with outside of practice. Tendou is the main example. A complete opposite that he has seemed to have clicked with. They’ve shared depth filled talks and Tendou tries to get him into hobbies. Related to updated chapters as adults his old teammates even seem to keep in touch with him. They can playfully pick at him and he’s not just gonna critique them. Shirtoizawa has a vice-captain you’ve probably never heard of him but his name is Jin. He’s in no way a regular, but that means Ushijima still had some sort of connection to choose him. Perfection, skill, and other things mean a lot to Ushijima but he’s still human. A human character that has no sinister stalker intentions behind people who spark his interest.
I am a proud and passionate Ushjima Wakatoshi stan who can admit, when joining the fandom I didn’ have the best view of Ushijima either. I fell into the depths of rumors and things said about him, also he is a tad scary to look at. But, diving into it and taking a better glance. I’ve come to love him so much. Everything I’ve said is a personal view of the things I’ve seen in the hidden layers of the fandom. Ushijima grew the smallest bit thankfully and so did many people’s opinions. He wasn’t put in as a character to hate thankfully which is saddening when some still do. Before making a statement of hating Ushijima I just hope that people can read and start to understand that the boy, has many misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and false accusations.
Also, I did not mention the farmer headcanon or claim because it’s funny and is still loved but he isn’t one sadly.

i wholeheartedly believe that Ushijima will wake your lesbian daughter Keina up at 12am on the first day of pride month. it doesn't matter if it's a school night or if she has a big game in the morning or how long she's been out. every year without fail he will drag her out of bed just to remind her that he will always love her because it would break his heart if even for a second she forgot
Tumblr media
based on Team
a/n I feel like he's really big on buying her flag pins for her volleyball bag and even buys a matching set so Keina can give one of ishiko
happy pride month lovelies <3

Genre: angst to fluff

Part 2
❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀⑅*❀
Wakatoshi Ushijima.
He is a simple man and not a very affectionate boyfriend but you knew that before you started your year long relationship. You loved him nonetheless. He had been busy for about two weeks with practice, being in the japan national team was difficult, but you’d expected him to remember your birthday, right? Well, you had woken up at around 8 a.m., your boyfriend long gone. Practice, you thought. You got up, made your bed and made some breakfast. While you were dancing around happily enjoying this amazing day by yourself, your phone rang.
“Hello?”
“Y/n, the guys from the team will be coming over later to study the match for next week, is that okay?”
You were shocked, had he forgotten? Or maybe he was going to surprise you? “yeah, sure”
“Great, we’ll buy food so you won’t have to cook, see you later”
He hung up and you were left confused, you stared down at your now soggy pancakes, sigh what a great way to start the day.
A few hours later
You had finally finished cleaning the house and you sat down exhausted on the couch. You had to distract yourself from the fact that your boyfriend had forgotten your birthday. You got numerous calls from friends and family throughout the day, you even got messages from ushijima’s teammates. They kept saying that maybe he wanted to surprise you and he just didn’t want to tell anyone or he was using them as a decoy to an actual surprise. Thanks to those messages you began to have hope. Maybe your boyfriend was a secret romantic. You got off the couch and headed to take a shower. Rhythmic music rang through your bathroom as you rinsed the soap of your body. Your body was wrapped in a towel when you heard the front door open.
Your smile dropped when you heard his teammates voices in the living room. Hope wasn’t dead though, maybe he wanted a surprise party, but Ushijima wasn’t the type to do that. He entered your shared bedroom.
“Hello love” he said while looking for his notebook, not even giving you a glance
“Hey, um, babe did your teammates come over?”
“Yes, I called this morning to ask if it was okay” he looked at you with a confused glare
“Oh well I just thought we might have some alone time, you know, today being sp-”
“Really?” he pinched the bridge of his nose “Look y/n I told you this morning so this wouldn’t happen, if you didn’t want the guys to come over you should have just told me. What do you want me to do now? Huh? Kick them out?” he questioned
This is not what you had pictured when it came to your birthday. “It is not my fault that I want to spend some quality time with you, you have been busy this whole week and i-”
“You are being selfish y/n, I can’t spend my entire life joined to the hip by you, you know that volleyball was important in my life way before you came. God you are so clingy, if I had known this what our relationship was going to be like” he paused “nothing never mind” he said as he left the room.
You just stood there with tears threatening to spill, you had a lump in your throat. You were frozen. Clingy, he just called you clingy and selfish. You had always thought you gave more than you received in relationships and him calling you that just confirmed that insecurity. This added to the fact that he rarely showed you any type of affection. You were worried this might be the end, he had been distant. You barely got to see him and got used to waking up alone. Perhaps he had grown tired of you and you were just too naïve to notice.
His teammates had heard everything and they just awkwardly stood and looked at each other. They had thought that ushijima had made them come over for a dinner party or something, they even brought gifts (which they had left in their cars since they didn’t want you to see it once they walked in). When ushijima came into the living room, they didn’t say anything and sat down, too scared to mention the fact that it was your birthday.
“Sorry for the wait, should we start” ushijima said
They all mumbled out a yes
Meanwhile you were in your room, in the same place he left you, sobbing into your hands. The sound of the phone ringing snapped you out of your zone. You saw that it was your friend and picked it up.
“HEY GIRL” your friend screamed into your ear as you sniffled “wait do not tell me you are crying, y/n why are you crying on your birthday?”
“I had a fight with toshi and i-i”
“No, no you are not going to let that man ruin YOUR day” your friend emphasized “c’mon, go into take a shower, get dolled up and let’s go clubbing”
“I already took a shower but I don’t know if it’s a good idea” you said in a quiet voice
“Yes, it is, I don’t want you crying on your day, I’ll pick you up in an hour”
“Fine” you groaned
You look at your now puffy eyes and realized you do need to celebrate because you deserve it and no man will make you feel like you are less than. Considering he didn’t think you were nearly as important as volleyball. You began to put your makeup on while thinking about what outfit to wear. You decided on red, off the shoulder, bodycon dress with black heels. You were definitely feeling yourself. “I’m outside” your friend texted you. You applied the last of your lipstick and perfume and headed out to your living room.
You got your keys and almost headed out without anyone seeing you when bokuto noticed and quickly stood up.
