Steb can't talk like everyone else in the show, his words come out as like a trilling sound. So he typically stays silent because no one can understand him. No one but Maddie, when they first met and she heard it, she immediately made it her mission to learn how to understand him. After all, Maddie didn't think it was fair that Steb couldn't voice his thoughts due to no one understanding him. So when Steb lets out a trilling noise to voice his displeasure about something, Maddie immediately starts giggling at the language he uses. Such as "You moronic buffoon, that's not how it works, you're dumber than a rock without any damn brains you absolute fucking idiot".

This causes Steb to realize Maddie could understand him or at least has a general understanding of what he's saying. So obviously they become friends, after all, Maddie is the only person to make the effort to try and understand what he's saying. Obviously Steb takes it upon himself to figure out how to make it easier for Maddie to understand him. Mainly due to his trilling being more based on how his voice sounds and since he speaks more monotone and very rarely with emotion, it makes it much harder to understand him. So when he finally knows enough sign language to be confident in his ability in it, he goes to Maddie to tell her. Maddie is obviously excited because she understands sign language, one of her family members uses it so she has to know it. But the idea of having a friend learn it for her, is heartwarming.

So due to all of this, the two are close. They're always seen together because of the fact that they bothered to learn something for each other and only each other. It created a bond that couldn't really break. It's why when Maddie set out to go find Vi, Steb went along with her. He couldn't risk losing the only person who bothered to try and understand his words.

Overall thoughts: holy SHIT!!! I genuinely didn't think Dragons Rising would keep my interest like it has. I've watched this fuckass show since I was like 11, and by GOD they're keeping it real. The fight scenes are beautifully animated, they're keeping the characterization as close to normal as possible (of course there will be differences, no one can deny it). The story is enthralling and I really, REALLY love it.

my past abuser who gave me PTSD had BPD. my past situationship treated me like shit, and then became besties with my past abuser (knowing what they did), had BPD. my most recent ex girlfriend who cheated on me throughout the relationship and also abused me had BPD. all of them have used their BPD as justification for their actions and refused to take accountability for what they did to me. it makes me feel like fucking screaming jesus christ.

i hate to say it but my experiences are tainting my view of ALL people who have BPD. im starting to view it as an abusive disorder that weak people use as an excuse so they dont have to face the reality of their actions and behaviors. so they dont have to face the reality that theyre actually bad people incapable of holding relationships or treating someone with half a shred of decency.

i really would not like to get flamed in the notes for this. im confessing this here because A) i know im wrong, and B) if i told this to anyone IRL they would just think im ignorant and a bad person.

i have done countless hours of research on BPD for these two people. just to understand, both retrospectively and in the moment. and i sort of understood. i understand the trauma aspect, all of the mental pain and whatnot they go through, the massive mood shifts, the mania and depressive states, etc. i have researched every aspect of the mental illness that is available on the internet.

but still, i perceive people with BPD to be selfish and uncaring. inherently abusive. i dont know if there is anything i can do to dispel this incorrect belief without just meeting and forming a healthy relationship with someone who has BPD. but that seems like an impossible challenge.

some background on myself: teenager with OCD, PTSD, and Anxiety (some others, but im just stating the three that effect me the most because i think that listing off a bunch of mental health issues in quick succession sounds tacky and is giving "your honor im neurodivergent and a minor". idk. dont cancel for me that as well. i am probably very unlikeable in this confession)

i would love to not feel this way. if anyone has any advice for me, or would like to challenge this, please dont hesitate to. i want to make it clear that i would never EVER express this to anyone with BPD. i would treat them exactly how i treat everyone else, which is what i have been doing. but i may be more wary of them or hesitant to form a close connection because i just dont want to get hurt again.

Being really cold. Hes not dead or half dead or undead hes just.. a little fucked up. 💀 Hes been exposed to so much radiation hes like become one with it, with the decay and mutation. It Should've killed him, absolutely, but somehow it just. Didn't. And so here he is. Radiation creature undeadish mutated killjoy. He doesn't have any special powers or anything aside from like. Having met the witch once or twice. Maybe he can see ghosts or something because hes walking that line between life and death. I think the witch absolutely hates him because shes like man youre half in my realm but youre too alive for me to take your soul get the fuck outta here. Also i think he can go like a couple weeks without eating or drinking but he does still need to eventually or he gets really weak. Also hes actually yet to discover anything that Can actually kill him for good. Like because dies he technially die every time his heart doesnt beat? But yeah as far as he can tell he cant die, like hes been stabbed and shot and in situations where he should've bled out but he lived, even when he lost like a concerning amount of blood, the amount to where a normal person wouldve passed out or died, but he was fine. Hes been caught in explosions, probably a few other things. But nothing works.

Mr Sandman is in a similar boat of half undeadishness but where Ghouls just.. Ghoul. And is Like That cause of radiation and desert things. The usual. Sandmans more of a literal supernatural creature. Like he's just a revenant Benze brought him back from the dead once no biggie. But now he just Keeps coming back. On his own. Hes something Else now. Im playing with a few things for him ones like. Hes possessed by something or like harbors something within him, and its like the soul of the city itself? Or like Destroya or something. Or well not posessed like hes still himself but hes like.. an avatar of this thing. Its his saint and it grants him, well i guess its technically immortality since he keeps coming back. And probably some other wacky little powers.

Another idea i have for his undeadness is yknow classic vampire. Of course. But i could also throw a spin on it with him being an energy vampire as in life force, he feeds of the life force of those around him instead of blood. And i could also take it a step Furthur and its a soul stealing situation and hes going around the city stealing souls to feed on or do something else with. He probably has weird powers like superhuman speed and strength and hes like one woth the shadows, like literally you see this guy and swear he teleports from shadowed corner to corner, he just melts into the darkness. Also maybe he has telepathy or something like it, like he thinks he just so close to his friends theyre such great freinds that he just Understand them but it turns out hes literally reading their minds. But turns out they Are such great friends because he has to be really close to someone for their mental barriers to come down for him. So the only reason he can read their minds is literally because they let him. I'm not emotional about this at all(*through tears* theyre best friends your honor). Anyway he also has some like Jedi mind judo where he cant read anyone elses minds, but he can sorta hypnotize them and influence them to say or do or think something.

Soo yeah. Sandman and Ghoul. Besties in being strange and offputting. You stab one in the heart and he looks down at your knife and goes "that was rude." He pulls it out and boasts about adding it to his collection while just spurting blood all over the fucking place, but hes not being affected by it in the slightest. He shoots you and walks off still bleeding everywhere like its just another Wednesday. It is. You stab the other one in the heart and he DOES die, he is most certainly deceased. So you leave the crime scene but five minutes later you see him again, and there isn't a scratch on him and he is undoubtedly, most certaintly Not Dead somehow. He smiles and his teeth are a little too sharp to be normal and also hes marching towards you with a spiked baseball bat.

thinking abt how inu-oh and tomoari's pokemon teams would look, so. enjoy some ramblings lol

inu-oh would have a primarina, rockruff, and a baile style oricorio! he met them as follows:

primarina - was a gift from tomoari, as a popplio. it'd been following tomoari since dan-no-ura, but never let itself be caught or befriended until it met inu-oh. it provides backup singing whenever they perform.

rockruff - one of the stray puppies inu-oh grew up with. it was always the closest to him and stayed by his side even after his curse started lifting. its never shown an interest in evolving. basically theyre both besties and sort-of brothers

oricorio - his newest pokemon, it was drawn to he and tomoari's first big performance. it enjoyed the show so much it practically demanded that inu-oh let it join his team. it provides backup dancing and some showy fire type attacks to add to the spectacle.

now for tomoari, his team is a dhelmise, veluza, and flapple! heres how he met his team:

dhelmise - his first pokemon. he met it on his very first dive with his father as a child, and kept seeing it on subsequent dives. eventually it followed tomoari home and just stayed. dhelmise helped tomoari keep in touch with his father after he passed, and acts as a communicator between him and the heike spirits when necessary.

veluza - originally his father's pokemon, veluza practically helped raise tomoari. when his father passed, he vowed to care for it in his memory. its remarkably loyal and protective of him. veluza uses its psychic powers for various things during performances, from added visual flair to amplifying tomoari's music to make it louder.

flapple - sorry im a sucker for this trope. inu-oh found an applin when they were kids and gave it to tomoari as a thank-you gift for the popplio. it was only once they became adults that they realized the significance of the gesture. gay married your honor

honestly im still a tad disappointed that shadow cant enter the shatterspaces, tho. i would've KILLED to see him and sonic go through them together. the fights, the character interactions, THE POTENTIAL. all lost, im afraid.

this is all so chaotic but just. in conclusion i hope nine and sonic can find a middle ground not just for the sake of the universe, but my heart :[ i cant wait for more shadow, as well, and crossovers between the different shatterverses. this has all been a massive step up from season 1 (which was already super solid) and i just cant wait to see what happens next !! i wonder if the grim is really as empty as nine believes.....

hi!! i am in fact awake!!! i wanted to write more for my exchange fic bc ive just started recovering from been sick the past few days and havent rlly had the chance. but i ended up putting it off until like 12am LOL. under the cut again i talk . a lot.

its fun you mentioned sabolaw because. the 'pair' in question for the au is actually ichiji/sabo/law. no i dont know why my brain latched onto this. yes im still kind of obsessed with it. the social media aspect of my shipfic is a lot about ichiji & the transition from being a child star (alongside his siblings) to a more casual internet ministardom. theres court drama bullshit. theres fangirl law. all three of them are transfem. its really special to me.

also YEAH EXACTLY!!! to your rarepair thoughts. in every fandom im in im a huge sucker for rarepairs that seem like complete nonsense. throw those characters whove never met into a room and LOCK IT! not always romantically yeah but honestly its a lot easier to like . find content of niche pairs through ship names than just trying to sift through a million posts in their maintags. tumblr wise, at least. i actually have a sideblog thats been since sort of abandoned dedicated to finding as much niche rarepair content for two characters (not always with each other, just those two in general).

a fun thought exercise ive done a few times also is getting a nice randomizer of characters im familiar with for a fandom and using it to pick out a few ships to figure out how theyd interact/if i could make a shipfic out of them. sometimes they click sometimes they dont but its a fun way to explore characters imo

whats ur fav lawship nowadays if you dont mind :3? i like a looot for him ill admit but im not particularly committed to any. as with the multishipper way. and thats fair (on the sabolaw bit)... first ships dont always last super long. they sure are fun to think back too tho ^_^

my favorite aus for fic... oh god thats a tough one. i already mentioned modern aus and this ones sort of a tangent off niche topic focus's BUT. fics that are set in a specific career (especially doctor aus & lawyer aus but genuinely i just rlly like looking at niche little details of someones career.) see also hobby focused aus! like uhh. gymnastics. ice skating. just stuff like that idk. and aus that are focused around like.. movie tropes/genres. crime noir detective aus, slasher horror aus.. especially fun when theres a spin on the original tropes but when you can see how much love someone has for the og concept is when it rlly shines.

none of those are super specific tho. um. i have a soft spot for superhero aus even when theyre really bad. fantasy aus are trickier but when they hit they hit rlly nice. (trying really hard to think ummm) thats about all i can think of rn? but it is pretty late so im for sure forgetting some.

NOW. as for acesabo specifically.. first off if you have any fic ud especially recommend id love to read them regardless of the tropes/ships/whatever. but. acesabo aus.. ohhhgh. i dont know!! ive read a lot of really cute modern aus with them. and im not USUALLY into soulmate aus flat out but i could really love a good acesabo soulmate au. it just suits them. theyre both characters i enjoy seeing as cute girls quite a bit. its kind of unfortunate im not really a fan of either of them as trans guys bc there is SO MUCH transmasc ace stuff out there. sorry my guy you have my name i cant live like that. all respects to people who do like that tho! i like them nonbinary multigendering it up . sometimes transfem sometimes just.. trans. sorry this is not the point.
