It would take a lot for him to become full on obsessed with you

He’d act less like a boyfriend and more like an overprotective father

Barnaby wants you by his side 24/7, no matter what

If you don’t? Well get ready for a lot of a lot of passive aggressive comments about how he “just wants to protective” and how you’re being stuck up

He shrugs off any legitimate concern you have for the relationship, instead just laughing off all of your kvetching, as he calls it

Don’t forget that Barnaby is 8 feet tall

He’d never hurt you, no he’d never dream of it!

However

I can see him not so subtly reminding you how much larger he is compared to you, how he could easily overpower you if he wanted

If you call his bluff, and you continue to have relationships with others besides him. Or worse, break up with him, he’ll go mad

At first it’s trying to use logic to get you to stay. Then he get’s angry, yelling and throwing things in your direction and threatening to hurt himself. Lastly he’ll collapse to the floor, crying and sobbing until you decide to stay with him again, even for just a bit longer

He’ll repeat this cycle for as long as needed

Howdy Pillar

It starts out as a small crush, then it snowballs into something much, much more sinister 

You know how Barnaby pays for his hotdogs with jokes?

Well for you, you’ll have to do increasingly more and more elaborate things

Howdy does this purely to enjoy your company, even if for just a few minutes longer

It may even get sexual, assuming you two are already in a relationship

He gives you, and only you, ridiculous discounts on items 

Things in the store that you wanted that weren’t in the store are suddenly there now

✦ Perhaps, you were a new neighbor or just a random puppet from the outskirts of the neighborhood— whoever and where ever you are, you were bound to meet Wally some point in your life.

✦ Wally is a curious puppet and loves putting his (imaginary) nose into places he shouldn't be putting, and you caught his eye for some unknown reason. It was fine enough, he was only interested about your life before the neighborhood and what kind of things you like. Eventually, you started asking the same questions back at him and it went on from there.

✦ There was always something that Wally would get interested in someone, no matter how pathetic and boring they look and are. It's up for your own interpretation why he was so intrigued by your person in the first place, maybe it was your personality? Your smile? Your voice? Wally loves it all regardless.

✦ Being the town's local artist, Wally takes most of his inspiration from his surroundings and sooner or later, he began adding bits of you in his paintings. It began when you happened to be one of the many faces he painted to crowd his landscape paintings until he started painting portraits of you, many and many canvases pilling up in the corner, and all of them were of you.

✦ I wouldn't exactly say Wally was embarrassed, but he was coy. He only showed you few of those portraits and gave it you, but most of them are tucked somewhere in his house aka his bedroom. He reasoned was because they're unfinished when in reality, he couldn't properly 'sleep' without having a bit of you near him, even if it's just a painting he made.

✦ Wally loves it when you spend time with his friends too, especially when you get along with Barnaby! The canine puppet was his bestest friend and enjoys spending time with you two at the same time. He couldn't help but fawn over his two favorite people hanging out and actually being friends. Seems like a dream for him, to be honest.

✦ Before you and Wally had made it 'official', everyone assumed the two of you were already a thing. It was confusing, to say the least. It makes sense once you realized how lovey dovey you two had acted around each other.

Upon hearing a knock on your door, you immediately rushed to it and opened it. Though, you were about to open your mouth and blurt out a greeting, you stopped your tracks as you saw Frank holding Wally by his collar. Wally didn't look too happy being held up like a wet, pathetic cat.

"Sorry to disturb you, (Name), but I believe this is yours." Frank began, motioning to the smaller puppet beside them. "Your little boyfriend over here was found stealing few of Howdy's apples again."

You blinked, furrowing your brows in complete and utter confusion. "I— First of all, Boyfriend? And second of all, he was doing what again?"

"He was caught messing with the apples for the 3rd time this week. Eddie's dealing with an angry Howdy right now and we have to deal with your lovebirds' troubles because we're the only other couple here unfortunately." Frank explained, doing various of hand actions.

"I'm sorry, but me and Wally aren't a couple??"

Frank made a sound of confusion and acknowledgement. "Hm, I thought you were one of us. My mistake."

"I- I have no idea if you mean if we're also gay or if we're also in relationship like you and Eddie."

"Are we though?"

"Wally, I swear to god—"

✦ Wally is extremely touch starved, like most residents, and doesn't know what to do when you do give him affection so he goes limp in your arms. It takes him a few seconds to recover once you release him though, maybe stumbling a bit when you settle him back down on the floor or even crashing back into you. The latter would definitely happen and you'd be stuck with him atop you until someone pulls him off or you do.

✦ Whenever Home locks Wally out, you'd offer him to stay in your house. He'd deny a couple of times, but he'd later come with you since he doesn't want to stay out at night. He never really liked the dark anyways.

✦ He was a little nightlight at both yours and his place, and would ask you tell him bedtime stories. He doesn't sleep, yes, but he does enjoy laying down beside you and being used as some sort of stuff animal. He also even closes his eyes, so you'd think he's sleeping. You know he isn't and often call his BS.

"You know, (Name), that was the bestest sleep I had. We should do a sleepover again." Wally sugguested once, enjoying a lovely breakfast with you. He had turned away from his plate to face you for a moment, his pupils shrinking down.

"Wally, you don't sleep." You deadpanned, holding a cup of warm coffee in your hand.

"How would you know that, (Name)?" Wally tilted his head, smiling.

"Chanting 'I am sleeping' with your eyes closed doesn't count as sleeping, Wally."

✦ You're also the first one people would go to if Wally got into trouble. He's always off messing with Howdy's apples, 'borrowing' Julie's hairspray supply, breaking and entering in someone's house, etc... As much as many felonies Wally had committed, you still love him.

✦ You just wish he wasn't so nosy to make up for his lack of a nose.

Bellflower Bat WH Spooky Month AU

EDIT: Added everyone else’s feelings to Bellflower. Here’s Bellflower in another AU by the ever talented and marvelous @night-light-artz This time it’s Spooky Month. And just like their Van Helsing AU this chart shows how my clearly not doing so hot bat feels towards everybody.

Starting with Eddie-As you can see she’s neutral to the guy, even if he IS the reason she no longer has an arm. Yep in this AU Frank and Eddie’s son Freddie takes Streber’s place at running the haunted house, and of course since Eddie is Bob in this AU he’s not gonna hurt his son, but anyone else is fair game in the haunted house. Unlucky for Bellflower she was that game. She did manage to fight him off but still lost her arm and got seriously injured on her left wing too. But she can’t despise Eddie because she’s been keeping Freddie safe for him and Frank and knew them both before she knew who Eddie truly was, so she doesn’t do anything and really with the amount of pain pills she’s on she’s too tired to. Eddie sees her as a friend but he was also a little too knife happy and probably a little hungry too so he was blinded by those feelings when he attacked Bellflower. Not sure how he would feel afterwards learning what he did to Belle, maybe to just avoid her for a while.

Next is Howdy-Her boyfriend, who helps her get through this tough time. Even if he looks tired and done with everything life has thrown at him, when he can get home to Bellflower he turns into a full blown cuddlepillar. He was so scared when Frank frantically called him saying Bellflower was in the hospital and seeing her with a missing arm and learning about her major blood loss and the possibility she’d never fly again really hit him hard and he swore to her unconscious boy that he’d do all he could to make her life as normal as possible. He puts her pain meds in sweet treats even if she’d take them normally but she appreciates the care. She also is accepting of him acting as her “new arm” since he’s got two to spare. She cuddles to him when she can and though suffers nightmares, night terrors( especially when she learns Eddie went to where Howdy works) and phantom limb syndrome at times she loves Howdy and he loves her.

Julie-A dear friend who actually introduced her to Frank, Eddie, and Freddy, the two hang out often, Julie helping Bellflower when Howdy can’t. She helped Bellflower stretch her injured wing so at least Belle can use it though she hasn’t tried fully flying yet she can flap it and whap people with it when they’re being stupid. Julie is also happy to be Bellflower’s second arm and wants to enter them in a three arm competition which Bellflower humors her and is helping her brainstorm ideas for what a three armed competition would entail.

Poppy-Bellflower’s wonderful cousin who, while not the one who patched her up, did visit her after the attack and keep her bandages clean and her meals filled with good fruit, but only when on her own break. Bellflower was so happy that Poppy went into the medical field and even helped her study for her tests. These two get along like sisters more than cousins and Poppy is very happy her Demisexual and Demiromantic cousin found a good Caterpillar as a boyfriend.

Sally- Since she’s a cop Bellflower has a high amount of respect for her and the job she does. She did tell her and Barnaby all that happened with the attack. Sally also hopes to bring justice to all who have been harmed by this serial killer “menace”.

Barnaby-Like with Sally she holds Barnaby with so much respect and in turn he tells her jokes that she tells to Howdy so both can unwind from the day with a good laugh before falling asleep cuddled together.

Wally-A sweet kid Bellflower babysits for Frank, as well as his pumpkin costume wearing best friend, she treats Wally as a younger brother and he sees her as an older sister. Also Freddie sees Bellflower as a sister too and feels terrible his dad did this to Bellflower but is glad she holds no ill will to anyone in his family.

And last is Frank-Frank was introduced to Bellflower by Julie when they were looking for another babysitter and not only did Belle leave a positive impression on Wally but also Freddie and quickly Frank. While their friendship is not as strong as his and Julie’s he does see her as a very good friend and she sees them as someone she can go to even when not called up to babysit or assist Freddie with any of his new projects. Frank does feel immense guilt for what Eddie did to Bellflower and is helping her through her recovery, making sure she’s able to relax even when she’s watching Wally and his friend. Bellflower has to constantly reassure Frank that she does not blame their husband for what happened and is just thankful to be alive so she can still enjoy Frank and Julie’s company. Still, Frank keeps a stock of Belle’s favorite fruits in the fridge.

Illustrated Au, this post was adopted from another account because they are deleting it soo I adopted it with permission of the original author, I did make some changes to adapt it to my writing style! Stablish relationship with Wally and lastly picture was a very closed screenshot but it was made by @clownsuu!

It was well known around the village a certain neighbour could be seen chewing and biting all sorts of things. Of course chewing and biting was pretty normal when eating, it was pretty out of the ordinary when the villagers started to notice bite marks on random objects.

At first they thought a animal of some sort had come in looking for a late night snack but the bite marks didn’t match with any sort of animal. It was only until while Eddie Dear was delivering some mail he noticed M/n gnawing on his pencil while he sat in front of his house sketching.

Usually this wouldn’t have caught his attention as it wasn’t that strange of a thing but they way M/n dug his teeth into it, as if to completely crush it, he started to suspect it had been M/n that left the bite mark on the plastic end of one of Franks bug nets. As Eddie was just stood watching you, it caught Wallys curiosity.

"Hello Eddie, what are you looking at?," Asked Wally while looking with curiosity at Eddie then following his line of sight to M/n which made his smile grow just a tad bigger.

“Oh, hi Wally. Say, is it me or is the way M/n is biting their pencil is a bit aggressive? If you know what I mean," Wally, now that Eddie mentioned it, did thought M/n were really going at it, perhaps the pencil broke while he was sketching. Sometimes that happens to himself so he understands M/n's frustration. Waving goodbye to Eddie when he went on his way to finish delivering mail Wally decided to head over to M/n and see what got him so agitated.

"Hello neighbour, you know if i didnt know any better that pencil seems to be your sworn enemy," Wally jested which made M/n snap up his attention to him.

“Huh..?,” M/n replied confused, having no clue of what Wally meant until he noticed how damaged the end of your pencil had become.

“Ah! Oh no! I didn’t even realise I was chewing it... It’s such a bad habit I can’t seem to stop,” M/n said while sighting softly. Wally chuckled, what was so bad about it? M/n eas doing no harm, well besides to the pencil. He sat down beside you taking the pencil out of your hand and looking at the ravaged end trying to hold back a laugh.

"You know perhaps you should try something softer, you could damage your teeth. I understand the constant need to chew on something so don’t be ashamed,” Wally reassured M/n softly, slowly grabbing his hand and interlocking his fingers with M/n's.

"You chew things too?," Asked M/n hopefully while looking at Wally which made him smile and chuckle before giving a little peck on M/n's cheek.

“Oh, no. I eat with my eyes silly," Wally said which made M/n smile, how could he forget such an important detail of his boyfriend?

“Here”, said Wally before he held out his arm out in front of M/n's face waiting for his reaction. M/n seemed so puzzled at first not knowing what he was offering until he realised he basically just gifted himself to you as a personal chew toy. Perhaps Barnaby does the same so he’s use to it? But it became more and more embarrassing as he just stared at M/n waiting for him to take a bite.

Eventually M/n started gnawing on his arm a little while he focused in drawing again and soon M/n completely forgot he were even doing it until once he finished the drawing and he went to show Wally and found his arm muffling what he was going to say.

It was pretty embarrassing but he seemed fine with it, he was grinning for ear to ear and had a look of adoration in his eyes. If practically chewing his arm off wasn’t embarrassing enough the way he just gazed and admired M/n had his face warming in a instant.

As this went on M/n found himself more often than not randomly nibbling on Wally at a random point of the day. Sometimes when trying to figure something out or even when a conversation was going on for to long and M/n needed to occupy himself with something to stay focused but each and every time, M/n's boyfriend, Wally seemed bubbly with joy.

The rest of the villagers were happy with this as well since they have stopped finding bite marks in their possessions. It wasn’t long before Wally himself started nibbling M/n at random points, seemingly just blinking at him and then suddenly M/n felt something on his arm or shoulder. M/n was flustered at the beginning but he soon got used to Wally's playful nibbles but never got used to Barnaby jokingly giving you both chew toys on rare occasions.

Just another day ahead in the neighborhood, with you waking up a little later than usual, having had last minute practice last night for Sally's newest play, she was so excited about it so you just nodded... She would owe you some Poppy's cookies after that-

The sound of someone slamming the door brought you out of your thoughts, which made you go to the door, rubbing your eyes gently, then opening it slowly to find your three sweet boyfriends there.

" Yes! Your face is puffed up! Like cheese muffins! " Barnaby spoke in a playful tone, cradling your face carefully with both paws, gently squeezing your cheeks making you do silly grimaces. You held his paws with a smile, giving a small giggle looking at the worried faces of the other two.

" I'm fine guys! I just got up late because I helped Sally with a new play at the last minute! I would love to have a picnic with you guys" You spoke in a soft tone, taking Barnaby's paws off your cheeks slowly giving him a smile

" Well, if you say so my dear! Get ready and meet us at apple tree hill, we'll be waiting for you there! " Howdy said in a cheerful tone, giving a little 'boop' to your nose, which made you chuckle.

" Okay! I'll meet you there! See you guys soon! " You said in a cheerful tone, giving the three of them a small wave before closing the door, giving a goofy smile and leaning against the door. You had to get ready!

You then ran to your room, wanting to get ready as soon as possible for them. What clothes could you wear?

You had decided to wear some colorful hair clips, nice white shorts, a white short-sleeved blouse plus your pair of fuzzy socks with summer boots.

You left the house closing the door carefully behind you, just humming as you walked up to the apple tree hill, greeting Sally and Julie on the way.

You then arrived at the top of the hill, being greeted by your three boyfriends who had already assembled their picnic blanket, just chatting waiting for you to arrive.

" Hey boys! I am here! " You exclaimed with a smile, soon seeing how their cheeks turned slightly red when they saw you.

" You are beautiful as always dear! " Howdy said giving you a blushing smile, which Barnaby agreed with a silly smile, while Wally just stared at you with an admiring smile. You giggled, feeling your cheeks rosy, then sat down with them.

" Don't be like that! Or I'll turn as red as an apple- " You said in a playfully embarrassed tone, placing your hands on your cheeks dramatically, which made the three of them chuckle.

" I wouldn't complain to see that~ " Wally said in a teasing playful tone, which made you give him a little slap on the arm playfully, pouting. Barnaby and Howdy just watched the scene, hiding their giggles behind their paws/hands.

" Don't be like that, you two! Let's eat some jelly sandwiches Howdy brought! Haha " Barnaby said with a goofy smile, letting a small chuckle finally escape.

" Yeah! I made it myself, with your (favorite jelly)! " Howdy said with an amused smile, stroking your hair gently.

" Okay, fine- " You rolled your eyes playfully, giving Barnaby and Howdy a smile, but then sticking your tongue out playfully at Wally, which the other two just laughed once more, while that Wally just rolled his eyes playfully, giving you a smile while crossing his arms.

You, Wally, Howdy and Barnaby had a very nice picnic that day.

Ueda-sensei posted an image of Kotetsu over on Twitter. It's from back in 2020 but, for some reason, just popped up on my dash today. I'll post a link to the image in the comments below, and it was titled "YOU&I". The title is from a B'z Song of the same title.

Ueda stated that he chose this title because it reminded him of the "other person who can't be seen in the foreground of the picture." He then states in another tweet in the thread that, this image of Kotetsu is from Barnaby's POV (basically, Barnaby is the aforementioned character in the foreground looking at Kotetsu). So this image is from Barnaby's POV and the song + lyrics he was listening to while creating this image reminded him of Barnaby, essentially. The drawing was also done for Barnaby's birthday.

These lyrics are...very interesting! 👀It really fits with Barnaby's kuudere personality and how he sometimes struggles with Kotetsu's higher energy and more outgoing personality. He thinks he would like the quite and that he can bear the loneliness, but he can't really. Not truly. In the end, he really does just want to spend the rest of his life together with his loud and energetic oyaji boyfriend. 😌

Anywho currently she doesn't live in Home, she still lives in Jersey. But she does make guest appearances on occasion! When she visits she spends most of her time at Howdy's Place because duh her boyfriend is there! But she also makes sure to spend time with her other friends as well, such as tagging along with Barnaby and Wally in their shenanigans!

So, this was originally supposed to be posted on National Out of the Closet Day but I was busy IRL. I'm going to tell you exactly why I find these identities fitting.

Panromantic asexual: I started questioning myself when I was 20 years old and developed a crush on a female straight friend of mine. I forced that crush down because I was still dating my (then) boyfriend. I realized the hard way that yes, I do crave love, no, I honestly don't care about the gender. The asexual bit? I didn't really figure out until I became a Barnaby fan. I started wondering why I didn't want to get frisky during my eight years of dating my now ex when in the fandom, took a quiz, figured it out. So I gotta thank Barnaby for that. But I think the big hint I was panromantic was when I had my cartoon crush be Rouge the Bat. So, thanks a bunch to Billie Bust Up and Sonic the Hedgehog for basically helping me figure out my romantic interests and lack of an interest in sex.

Gender fluid: This one is more personal. So, my dad was dying from lung cancer in 2018 and I realized that I really needed to step up as a person to keep the house running. And I start picking up the man chores, such as cleaning my chimney and stacking firewood. I have always loved guy stuff but do on occasion dabble in girl things. It took me a while but after my brother left for the military, I realized that I was the man of the house until my brother comes home. It wasn't until I became a Barnaby fan (yes, I'm crediting Barnaby twice) that I figured out exactly what I am. Looking back, I feel pretty stupid.

Nonbinary: this one is simply because I never really felt like a "girl" and my mother made it plain as day that I will never be a traditional man.

I see gender as how I express myself. And show my history by basically being the man when there is no man to man up.

My pronouns are any but I prefer not to use female pronouns if it can be helped. I do not see myself as a traditional woman.

Even though I don't understand xenogender/xenopronouns myself, I firmly believe they're valid because they fall directly under the queer umbrella.
