Silver is such an awesome character
I always see people mention idia for disability representation -specifically autism- which is great, he’s canonically using an ipad for speech support and its very clear about his strong interests , etc. like as an autistic person in the same age group as him its.. so obvious. However ive always resonated with silver more, i feel like idia gives off more willing antisocial lifestyle, hes pretty sarcastic and comes off as rude (within reason lmao being a nrc student must suck), he doesnt enjoy or actively seek out social experiences unless its related to an interest, e.g harveston event. But with silver i feel like he’s not as willing to be like he is. (Not saying idia is happy with his lifestyle - tbh i dont really know enough about the guy to say)
For example, in his dorm uniform vignette he seeks out help from kalim who is naturally extroverted and friendly to help him communicate his emotions in a way that isnt strange to his classmates. Which is so!!ugh!, like that vignette literally made me tear up.. all my frustrations come from not being able to connect with my classmates or have people know me, how i feel, i know that i cant express my emotions in a way thats normal, or i cant express them at all. Like people portray silver as this cool, pretty, princely guy who everyone happens to have a slight crush on but hes not!! To his classmates hes just the quiet kid whos awkward to talk to and doesnt talk much himself.. as a high masking autistic girl its so real :’) fyi i wouldnt say silver is autistic, he portrays symptoms of narcolepsy- i dont have narcolepsy so i cant say if thats the reason for his social struggles and if its connected but either way the experience is very similar. Silver expresses grief and feels guilty over his condition, it gets in the way of his relationship when all he wants is to be of service to his family, but he just? Can’t! Like the feeling of knowing you CANT do something, not that you dont WANT to you just physically cannot fucking sucks!! And its guilt. Its not your fault, really isnt, but damn it feels like it. Especially when no one understands your condition, so they assume its something you can control, they dont get its a disability for a reason!! My diagnosis was 4 months ago, ive gone through the vast majority of my life being undiagnosed so aswell as general disability rep i also think silver’s really good for the undiagnosed/medical mystery folks; silver himself says many times he doesnt understand his own condition or why he works like that, which makes it soo much harder to explain it to other people because you cant just drop a doctor’s note. Its difficult to get support and have people’s sympathy so they dont become annoyed ( also: if you yourself arent aware the guilt aspect skyrockets. Undiagnosed neurodivergence/disability lifestyle is pretty much screaming why whyw whyw why!!! Am i like this! At god) . Example: his labwear vignette shows professer crewel beating silvers ass with a detention for something he cant control- he fell asleep during class . Silver apologises, gen means it, but crewel doubts the sincerity of his apology because it ‘didnt look like he meant it’ :’) this vignette gen makes me so mad out of empathy?? Tbh crewel didnt pass the vibe check.. like youre teaching teenagers- arguably the worst time for mental health of your life- someone at some point is gonna have a rough night.. even if he doesnt know its a disability (silver’s sleeping spells arent confirmed as such but through the way it affects him id argue that it should be treated as one) you can atleast assume the kids not doing it willingly 😭😭 professor crewel is a perfect example of the type of people that will be a pain in the ass if youre undiagnosed.. like honestly i resonate with silver so much i get second hand frustration.
Like all silver wants is to spend as much time as he wants with lilia, to repay him in the short time silver has (lilia is fae so will live much longer than he) but half that time is taken up by something beyond his comprehension and control!! When lilia has done all in his power to try and help silver but still nothing has worked.. silver doesnt want lilia to spent his life worrying about him 💔💔 hits even harder after lilia revealed hes dying and may in fact die before silver. It makes so much sense that silver would be shattered to the point of crying infront of malleus when everything hes ever wanted to give lilia (love, support, to stop lilia from worrying) is deemed almost impossible by factors he cannot control.
Therefore i dont really want book 7 to end with silver’s sleeping spells being cured- if the root of it is (BOOK 7 SPOILERS!!) from the spell that was put on him as a baby that would send him into a deep sleep until someone who could truly love him awakes him, i assume that after he gets over his complex of judging love by how much you can do for someone (this gets in the way of his relationship with lilia. He thinks that he isnt truly deserving of lilia’s love because he hasnt yet ‘repayed’ him for all lilia’s done for silver.. boy doesnt get the trope of unconditional love 😔), he will finally be content with his relationship with lilia: which concludes with ‘true love’ (familial), his curse will be fully broken. He wont get sleeping spells anymore. Which i suppose is good for silver and the message of love is most powerful which diasomnia has. But i also think it would be most affective if silver just learned to accept his condition and know that it cant get in the way of his family because their love is so strong.( it shouldn’t get in the way anyway, under any circumstance, but silver himself needs to know this 😭😭) Rather than solving the problem straight at the cause, its so much better for silver to heal and accept himself. May be slightly self indulgent aswell lmao because as much as id love to defeat a dragon and have my reward be the cure for neurodivergency id much rather love and accept instead. Like i dont want twst to erase his representation for the plot :’)
Anyway um. Yeah, silver you will always be a diva🫶🫶 -

I don’t care- West Africa wins all the prizes: 90% of yall can go home.
There’s a part of me that does not consider West African fashion ~Dandy. Not because it isn’t but because its normal to me. Because I struggle to associate that word with certain members of my own family. People who are pragmatic and practical and never want to rock the boat or stand out…. But sure enough when we go to ethnic functions, They do in fact look Dandy as fuck. It’s the Uniform and Dress code for how we celebrate each other. And seeing the amazing interpretations and representations of that on the carpet tonight put tears in my eyes for real.
Dynasty Ogun+Soull Ogun- L’ Enchanteur^: The lace caplet and maxi-waist beads are such fun fucking details and these two had jewelry all thru the carpet and in the exhibit. (2025 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners, so fuck yeah here’s hoping for so much more)

Ah Yes, Time for my least favorite, yet literally inescapable part of the Met gala!
"Who is that and why are you photographing this ugly ass dress instead?"
Tumblr media
Some MilkToast Ass A list motherfucker in the foreground And some folks who probably aren't all that famous in the background Absolutely.Killing it and now I have to look at this ugly shit 10,000 times since I have no way of figuring out who the hell they are other than going through every single one of mya hawks pictures Until I get lucky or there’s an aside picture that names everyone cuz they've gotten all their faces Somehow.
Also, Vlisco's gonna have knock offs in every fucking color back on shelves by the end of this month for SURE.
These two (Lauren and Issa) have the honor (?) of being the only ppl (to my knowledge, natch) who aren't Nigerian or First gen Nigerian American on this list (I don't know for sure about Bobby, but im making a guess)
Issa Rae- Ozwald Boateng
Tumblr media
This was the last look that i added to my list, i liked her suit on sight last night, but i didnt see anything too special in it. I was more interested in the person behind her tbqh. Then today I caught a better picture of her at the foot of the steps under all the lights, and oops! I was wrong. The sheen in this wax print is beautiful- I've seen it giving Green, Black and Brown thus far based on the lighting, and I can say from experience that seeing this suit irl is 20x better cuz this kind of wax doesnt ever photograph in a way that does it justice. I almost feel bad for anyone who got too drunk and saw this under any kind of twinkling light cuz i'm sure it made them dizzy
Burna Boy- Ozwald Boateng:
Tumblr media
Drop Dead Gorgeous and quintessentially exactly how we do what We DO. And simple with it while having plenty of the personal details that make you feel good to be wearing bespoke. Tailored for the Gods. Look Closer
Tems- Ozwald Boateng:
Tumblr media
Gaaatttdamn COME 👏🏿THRU👏🏿 WEST👏🏿 AF👏🏿RI👏🏿CA 👏🏿I got the tiniest peep of the blue behind Issa Rae early in the night and I was like, I"wonder who that could be".... And now, I am FEASTING. Tems is doing an amazing thing that mixes up the kind of bespoke party gowns that west African women wear with suiting. The dress is a suit dress, a vest specifically w. A shirt beneath. The fabric is ankara- 100% cotton used for casual wear or reinforced for suits instead of the usual satin  or lace george, tafettas and beaded bedazzled, embroidered netting that you usually see. The Color also just slaps.
I dont know if I have it in me to metrics, but based at least on my rather large list of notable fits, Ozwald Boateng dressed the most people at the party last night, Burberry would be the other contender. And for all that his work is truly pure mens tailoring, its utterly delightful to see how each suit is noticably different in cut and style 😍😍😍
Also! The pattern of the fabric in Tems' bodice and skirt is identical to the one of Issa’s suit!
This (Tems) is woven in wholly matte fabric, while Issa’s is woven in multiple colors and sheens of thread, so in person its kinda shifty- like a more subtle duochrome or like how your white friends eyes change color in different lighting.
Ayo Edebiri- Ferregamo:
Tumblr media
African Dandy connected to western formal in gloriously sharp tailoring and accents that scream of looking thru the vlisco fashion catalog and creating something to turn heads with your tailor. Magnificent. There's also more.
Shaboozy- Robbery Wun + Swarovski:
Tumblr media
i actively stop being clinically depressed everytime I look at this garment. THOSE BEADS! The shine in the fabric is sublime and the femininity of the silhouette+ the masculinity of the wearer is the kind of gender play that is SORELY lacking in west African culture. For the Met Gala it’s stunning, but for the culture is Actively so damn brave, that it stops me in my tracks. Second place over all in my night, but I wanted to talk about him here with the rest of the fam.

When I glimpsed somebody in the wings wearing what looked like in a whole ass lavender agbada, with a flash of some kinda red... neck... something? I straight up screamed, and as soon as this man walked into view, I was no longer watching a livestream because I kept rewinding to go back and stare at his 3.5 seconds of screentime. I dont quite have words for the way this look makes me feel, the embroidered detail on the coat itself is STUNNING, and the tailoring is beyond reproach. The cut of the lapel, and in fact that embroidery are reminiscent of an agbada, the white tie of west african (or at least for sure Nigerian) formal menswear, and those coral beads have a few different types of cultural significance, but all of them are connected to ceremony and import. Wedding day, Graduation, coming of age type things.
This is everything the met gala asked for, everything the girlies want to see, and full of such a deep respect for the event and the culture(s) that its speaking to…. Ugh….. I cant, Its simply Every Thing.

Honestly, girl (and anon), you're so right. Like, bro, I'm a furry, and that knot shit always grosses me tf out. It seems to me it's normalized in my Fandom, but hey, that's a different conversation entirely. We should get more afab representation with nsfw fics and art. But that is not to say I hate folk under the Trans umbrella lmao. I need to get to writing more stuff and actually finish it like God damn I have a problem with abandoning shit.
yeah !!! i mean obviously its normalised in lime furry since its a thing in that community mostly, but i think that there is so little attentiin to vaginas in like MOST places actually which really sucks. i think some of this is that lesbian relationshios are somewhat rare to come across (not as much anymore, but still) and even then lesbian sex is MUCH rarer. like healthy lesbian sex not for men to wank off to. i do also havw to say that a lot of people label lesbians as pure and shit, like people who dont have sex and its this like "oh theyre just two girls in love !!" and whenever lesbian sex IS talked about, a lot of people are quick to go "oh thats all for male gaze" as if women dont have sex wkrh other women in wlw relatiionships ? i dont think people mean bad when theh sah these things, but when SO MUCH of lesbian sex is accused of being only for the male gaze it makes lesbians seem like these pure relationshios where 5hey can do nothing rxcept go on little dates and its sort of infantalised in that way ? like two tirls being togethe4 is nothing more than two girls holding hands and kissing (but not with any sdxual feelings !) and going on walks togeher and shit. i think that this is very obviously in the movie love lies bleeding, whwre i have seen many people say the sex was "clearly for the male gaze" when it really isnt. if we assume everything is for men, then what do we have left ? i feel like this is a whole other problem that is relevant to this actyally, but its a differnt problem entirely and has its own thing going on
we need more oussy representation !!!! give us aroused vaginas !!!! explain that wetness running down her thighs in detail please and thank you !!! make her squirt !!!

So I saw your post asking about Ashkenormativity and as a secular Israeli Jew who's lived in the USA for a while, I figured I could try to give you my perspective on it.
In Israel, Jewish subgroups are mainly based around ethnicity and like, which country/countries your family came from. Ashkenazim are split into Polish folks and Lithuanian folks and Russian folks etc. That being said, non-Ashkenazi groups such as Yemenite folks and Ethiopians and Iraqi folks and so on are equally prominent and equally as discussed. So while Israeli society deals with racism it doesn't really deal with Ashkenormativity like in the USA.
In the USA, a large majority of Jews are descendants from Ashkenazi refugees that came after the Holocaust. I'm not sure at what point in time this happened, but in America the emphasis is less about "what country/countries is your family from" but "what type of Ashkenazi observance do you follow" with the expected answers being things like "conservative", "reform", or "Orthodox". Because there are so few non-Ashkenazi Jews in America, our existence gets erased and goes unacknowledged by mainstream American Jewish institutions, and that's what I see Ashkenormativity as being.
Ashkenormativity means that Jewish americans know little to nothing about my culture as a Yemenite Jew, and I regularly get comments along the lines of "I didn't know there were Jews in Yemen". Ashkenormativity means that non-Jewish americans think that all Israelis are white Europeans (because they think all Jews are Ashkenazi, even if they don't know the word for it, and that Ashkenazi means white European, because that is most of the Jews they interact with. It means Jewish cooking events expect you to have a "special family kugel recipe" because they don't even consider that someone who isn't Ashkenazi might come to their event.
So like yes it definitely has to do with media and representation but it also goes a lot deeper than that. It's about how Jews in America categorize themselves/other Jewish people and about who get recognized and who is erased in that Ashkenazi-based categorization system. And about how when someone in the USA is thinking about Jewish people they are almost certainly thinking specifically of Ashkenazi Jews, and how that impacts Jewish people who are not actually Ashkenazi.
yeah i was replying to another post (as you realised in your followup ask lol), but thanks for the input!
as an Israeli secular Jew i dont know that much about it, but i knew enough to realise that the definition of Ashkenormativity used in the original post was off

So, I'm not in the Good Omens fandom, but having seen the "controversy" over a potential sex scene (or even confirmation of a sexual relationship) and it's striking me that the "asexuals vs. other queer identities" thing used by fandom puritains is LITERALLY the classic "divide and conquer" tactic used to prevent effective unity among minorities since time immemorial. By making the different letters of the rainbow alphabet fight each other, they can never unite enough to get ANY rep, and the fandom puritains are basically doing exactly what status-quo loving studios want.
Yeah this 100%.
I may have calmed down on the salty rage after getting a good nights sleep, but if there is one thing I really can't stand its the incessant infiltration of queer spaces by puritans.
I wish more people could see that the rhetoric they are parroting around the echo chamber is just anti sex puritanical conservative bullshit and not the "call for ace representation" that they think it is.
It is very much an attempt to divide the community and turn sex positive queer folk and asexual people against each other (when actually they are the same people).
Asexuality is simply a lack of sexual attraction, it is not a complete disgust and repulsion of all things sexual to the point that you must ban the entire internet for daring to think of the word sex!
Whats so funny about this is that I am totally on board with the ace Aziracrow headcanon, but these people are claiming META ANALYSIS that might indicate any hint towards sexual desire or an interest in sex between them is somehow gross and aphobic.
I dont even think Aziracrow will be having sex in s3. Its unlikely. But if they do drop a few jokes and hints about the possibility, the last thing we need is a fandom full of puritans blowing up acting like its the end of the world because two male presenting beings might have possibly fucked.
Once you peel back the layers it does end up just looking like your run of the mill conservative christian homophobia. Fandoms must become more skilled at recognising the signs of puritanical infiltration and must start fighting back and thinking for themselves rather than following the crowd because it seems like they are "supporting ace people".
Honestly I'm tired. I've been calling out this bullshit for 8 years in fandom. It only seems to have got worse.

Hey. Idk if this is me growing up or just being disillusioned with inter celebs etc. Im a 23 yr old trans man so I grew up and was inspired by chella on the YouTube community. But now I just…don’t like chella man anymore. I feel like…he became an industry plant? Over the pandemic asking fans for money to send to him directly to help others and not showing where the money was going exactly incident as well as just becoming older I noticed he seemed to almost want to become the next Keith haring or basquiat? He almost…now seems very fake? He takes deals with brands to be representation but doesn’t do much to call out certain brands for their faults etc.
Idk anymore
I give Chella credit in that he was one of the few transmen that I looked up while I was young, especially with him being BIPOC. Showing him to my family helped them understand me. But that's where the inspiration kinda stops, because it was painful to be surrounded by years-in-transition trans men online when I was absolutely nowhere I wanted to be. That was a me problem tho. But I also didn't know much about his whole donation incident.
Ig heres what I have to say. It's not great to view other people as your justification of your morals. We don't know how people have had to live or how they live now, we don't know what decisions they have to make, and we dont know what kind of fears or goals they have. Chella is allowed to do whatever he wants with his art or his modelling career, just like how I genuinely believe anyone else in the world is capable of making the right decisions for themselves (even if we dont like those decisions!). Im not really concerned with figuring out if hes an industry plant or a "class traitor" (lol) or even if he's "fake". To be honest, I'm all for BIPOC folks getting their $. Does that mean I enjoy seeing wealthy BIPOC folk perpetuate classism and racism? No. Just cuz someone is succeeding for themselves doesn't mean people cant critique them. I guess what Im saying is I see waaay too many people online take the things they enjoy and the people they follow as projections of their morals: "no! stop [Insert celebrity name] you're being problematic and its makes us fans look bad!" Like....Okay lmfao. People are grown adults and are going to make decisions for themselves. Just because you might enjoy a celebrity does not mean your morals are based on how good of a person they are.
and youre allowed to not like the same things anymore just like how people are allowed to change, for better or for worse. I think within online communities there is way too much pressure on "looking" like a good person versus actually being one...because sometimes BEING a good person makes you look absolutely vile in terms of online spaces/communities love of isolating, removing, and deleting "problematic" (and vulnerable) people from their spaces with no trial, discussion, or attempt at conflict mediation. Yea yea I do think people have every right to be criticized just as they have every right to make whatever decision they want, but what Im trying to get at is to really stop viewing anyone with a platform as someone you can other once they dont meet your standards. This is not the same as denouncing or critiquing someone for really egregious behavior (white supremacy, harrassment, bullying, interpersonal violence). Once you kinda start living by your own morals without needing other people's actions/behaviors to justify/define them, you learn to focus on building connections rather than destroying them.
again, this is a much nuanced topic and you prolly werent expecting me to go into this. but ive grown over the years and have engaged in some nasty and vile mob mentality behavior that i just dont vibe with anymore. im not really the kind of person now to speculate online or publicly what other people are doing or should be doing or whether theyre problematic or not. I don't really care about Chella man or most celebrities rn. People r just gonna be people, and I will always have empathy for those of marginalized identities. Free will, autonomy, and self determination goes both ways, but so does accountability, transformative justice, and reconciliation.
but also like kill ur idols lol

Edit: okay so i just wanna make it clear that i dont agree with this anymore lol. Anyway here’s the original post:
I dont like the headcannon of davey being jewish.
Why? I am glad you asked!
Now listen dont get me wrong here!
Representation is so important especially for religions because in that department even the most popular ones r being bullied these days and then that religion isnt just any but the most hated one in history. The religion that was blamed for practically anything bad that has happened in the last 500-1000 years. In ww|| children didn’t even know this WAS a religion. In Germany they were taught that the word “jew” stood for a monster, like the wird rabbit stands for an animal. Idk if this makes sense but they LITTERALLY didn’t know any better which i personally find makes it worse. The ppl KNEW that they were wrong, and that they couldn’t convince poursouled children of anything unless they made up lies. The thing those children hated was justified. Anyone would hate a monster that only brings evil upon us. But they conected it to a name that describes something else.(the movie jojo rabit brings this accross extremely well and truthfull! It’s available on netflix and i think on prime!) And thats the problem. They knew they were wrong but they needed someone to blame for their own failures and problems. ANd WhO bEtTeR tHaN tHe OnEs ThAt HaVe BeeN aT bLamE fOr ThE pAsT 700 YeaRs???
This began with the germanians spreading Christianity around Europe when jews were still a majority. It was generally a seen as a sin to get along with a Christian, and as we all know in the middle age there have been some babaric events towarts (but also by) religious ppl.
In thirteen-sixty-something the thing got to a whole new level when in (i think it was italy but idk) a fountain was moisted with bacteria and brought back black plague for a lot of people, which obviously got word all around the world quickly. And with that obviously also rumours. The thing is that those rumors were LOADED.
Thats how the hatred toward jews specifically began. People thought they were witches that poisoned their food causing them all to get sick.
(Sry i didnt mean for this to turn into a history lesson hahaha)
So yeah. Representation is so important and I totally stand behind that!
That being said however i genuinely don’t like it with Davey and here’s why:
Im have no problem with the headcannon itself and obv not with people having thah headcannon. What bucks me is how that came to be.
It just feels sooo cliche taking the one character named david jacobs and saying he’s jewish.
I mean
Seriously
David jacobs
David. Jacobs.
David and jacob (lemme guess his sisters name is sarah hAHa- oh wait-)
Like it might be just me but that’s loaded with stereotype.
This might sound weird and/or mean but i genuinely get the feeling, the only reason ppl hc him as jewish is his name.
On top of that theres the fact that i generally just feel like its forced at this point. Again. I stand for representation with everything in me. but people just decided (rather than felt/knew) they needed to represent jewish folks and picked out ONE (1) (s i n g u l a r) character (LITTERALLY NAMED DAVID JACOBS!! Idk if u can tell but im getting rly worked up abt this)and said his family is jewish.
(Then if course theres the fact that i cant deal with the fact that he would have been killed at least in wa|| if not earlier due to being an non-arian jew but he prolly would be killed in one of the worldwars anyway so thats not much of an argument lol)
THATS IT! TYSM if u read this completely!
I also wanna take the opportunity to compell everyone to support palestina!!!!! I’ll put some links down below!
As a Christian i am lucky enough to not be bothered with shit by people i cant deal with but not everyone has that! So here’s just a gerneral reminder to educate and support people of any minority!!!
I will put some links so u can read up about the history of discrimination towards religion and jews!⬇️⬇️
1 Wikipedia article generally summarising antisemit!sm
2 definition
3 antisemit!sm+ history of rivalry between Christianity & Judaism
4 on discrimination and hate/ harassment towards religions in school and workplaces
5 discrimination WITHIN religion
6 some facts
7 using religion as an excuse to BE descriminating
8 read about judaism as a religion, rules and beliefs

hey so fuck Taika Waititi. And every cowardly Hollywood jockey that signed that pro-Israel letter instead of using their reach to push for justice. It's just extra disappointing when it's someone who ostensibly cares so much about liberation.
OFMD changes my life genuinely for the better. It opened me up to the possibilities of love. It is a groundbreaking show for the sheer amount of representation it showcases. The characters, storyline and community continue to mean a lot to me. but as usual with fandom, the celebrity cult of personality surrounding any actor isn't healthy anyhow.
so don't get it twisted my friends, don't do the H*rry P*tter crybaby tango. your feelings and love for this show can be real and we can still put that aside to protest one of the shows producers and stars supporting a genocidal state. 🤷
also a little bit unsurprising given Taika's shows problems with anti-Blackness. but dont confuse folk storytelling community with the celebrity who brought the inspiring content to us. any more than you would confuse a whole people with their government.
I'm fucking incensed. And sad.

fooooooooooooooooooor the System Ask Game: 2, 5, 8, 10 ( :) )12, 14, 16, annnd 18
OOF EVEN MORE okay i did 2, 8, 14, and 18 from pale's ask so ill just do 5, 10, 12 + 16 for yours lets see
5. who has the most contrasting personalities? what are they like? i mean we kinda All Do in one way or another. i tend to be a lot more Energetic and Talkative than other folks (to the point that it can be A Problem when i cant pull myself away from like. Ultrakill or w/e bc Stimulation) TV tends to be a lot calmer and quieter, and tends to have more of a flat affect when speaking. it Will go off about like, writing stuff tho, which is nice to see Althea's got the whole guard dog thing going on but also just tends to be the most Blunt out of us usually? which can be rly helpful and then Sonora is just kind of a drama queen (but in a good way) and u can kinda spot them a mile off if theyre actually being themself 10. do you have any nonhuman alters in the system? literally all of us. there WAS one person around for a bit who went for a more human representation of their form for a bit, but then ended up going with protogen after that, of all things (not bad but very unexpected) we tend to switch around what we're feelin like a lot of the time but i typically go with robot, TV is often an object head, carina's got the whole Lesbian Mothman thing goin on, etc it varies but we basically never vibe w/ human designs 12. do you like music? which alters have the most contrasting tastes in music? our system name is Heartsong, Yea we like music. theres definitely stuff we all enjoy but we all have our own little niches for things: Althea - Joy Division, Talking Heads, other 80s stuff like that Carina - tv room and sappy/upbeat early 00s pop stuff TV - Blood Cultures, Night Moves, etc Sonora - Shamir, ZABA by Glass Animals, Hana Vu X0 - Ultrakill OST, Your Smith, femtanyl, anything stupid or with a high BPM (or both) Red - Sewerslvt, Soundgarden, and a lot of other embarrassing stuff we grew up listening to just to name a few w/ these 16. what are your hobbies? do any of you share hobbies? we share Most hobbies honestly, since we dont have a lot that we Can do. mostly just like, Media; games, movies, tv, etc. Writing as well but thats like. Passion/Sometimes A Job more than smth id call a hobby. Streaming is more of a hobby i guess? we dont do that as much these days. same with Drawing (we rly Want to but Nerve Pain Wrist Explosion Attack) Carina wants to get back into playin tennis @ some point, and we all wanna do swimming again when we can actually afford a swimsuit and have pool access same goes for musical instruments; we played trombone for like 7 yrs and had been learning piano for a bit, just have access to Neither atm anyway yea. not a lot that isnt Overlapped there

You know what. When i was in my teens and 20's i always had a mentality that older folks not seeing my pount of view was because they were old-fashioned and stagnated. But now that im in my 30's i can see thats not all that it was.
Like these days, I see a lot of extreme rashness in 20-somethings and teens, where they think they're right, despite their thinking being based less on logically looking at things and more pissed at the lack of change in the world. Which is like, completely understandable! Especially when you look at the current state of society. But simply because you're right that things NEED to change doesnt mean your change is CORRECT, if that makes sense?
That last reblog kinda illustrates it perfectly. Millenials like myself, when we were in our twenties, used that desperate need for change to build the modern social justice movement; but in retrospect we also fucked up in several ways. We focused too heavily on individual cases, and individual responsibility, and things like callout culture became the centerpiece rather than solidarity and accountibility. And now, the next generation is taking the next steps, making those same mistakes; policing folks' language rather than trying to build networks to tear down the root causes. But telling them that is often useless, because they hear us Millenials saying "hey. That shit doesnt matter in the long run" and think "This is just them disregarding my Youthful New Take Styles".
Another great example was talked about at a panel i went to at SPX, where everyone was talking about how they were led to queer spaces and discovering their own identities, through HIGHLY problematic media in the early 2000's. And thats a lot of what I'm looking at now, with recently rediscovering an old hard drive of genderbend and bodyswap manga I was into before coming out. Theres lots of gender essentialism in them (I rolled my eyes at the characters in Kashimashi saying "I have to be with a boy now that im a girl"), but at the same time, I'd never have come out if not for that. And a lot of the people building better representation these days have shit like that to thank too.
I'm rambling now, but I guess my point here is that there's definitely a presumptuousness amongst youth that I think teens and 20-somethings could do to recognize. You dont know as much as you think you do. This is not a statement that older folks know better inherently, we don't, but arguing over who's more correct is pointless. We should acknowledge our limitations as humans, and start comparing our perspectives to get a better idea of the full picture.

Just in general i do feel like us boring monogamous bisexual folks who fall in love with one person at a time and cant fucking fall out of it dont get as much representation precisely because of the boring LOL. Nobody wants our stories, WE dont want our stories. :P

Yes, Act. Do the work. This is a time to rise up not in defense of some status quoa, but to lift the world towards progress.
There are so many ways to get involved. VoteForward is a great fact based organization and there's not that much writing. Working Family's Party is also a great party pushing to get progressives into place to help all of us.
Let's see adding some suggestions:
I've been volunteering for 4 years with the Northeast Arizona Native Democrats, which works to build representation for Native Americans in NE AZ. I postcard, I phonebank. In general it's a pretty chill phone bank. https://neaznativedemocrats.org/
I've written postcardst to voters through NEAZ, postcardstovoters.org and  https://grassrootsdems.org/. Postcarding is great for folks who maybe don't have easy access to a printer as with VoteForward, and requires no person to person interaction.
Want to spread progressive messaging on your social media, try www.Wedecide22.com
Want to listen to a podcast about progressive wins? Words to Win By about progressive messaging that works. Linking to one of my favorite episodes. https://wordstowinby-pod.com/dont-buy-it/
Not comfortable phone banking, but want to do more, you can volunteer with a voter information hotline to help inform voters about their voting rights. Think of it as customer support for democracy.
Got $ and want to donate? Here's a few.
Movement Voter Fund - Vets grassroots groups across the US, funds the most effective ones. https://movement.vote/2024campaign/
Field Team 6 - Gets liberals registered so they can get out there to vote. https://www.fieldteam6.org/mission
Swing Left - SL targets battle ground states and districts and moves $ (and volunteer energy) from blue areas to purple areas to help out. You can read about their strategy here https://swingleft.org/p/strategy
We are who we are waiting for. Pass it on.
I can never tell which of my posts are going to explode (it is never ones I put work in) but I pray to God this one does
The past few weeks I have seen an explosion in doomerism and defeatism about Trump. Some people seem to have just decided to call the election for him for reasons that don't even make much sense
(He was almost shot and that always helps! Look at Reagan and Teddy Roosevelt! Reagan was already president and incredibly popular, and the shooting happened 2 months into his first term; Roosevelt was shot when he was campaigning in 1912....in an election he lost)
Trump has never been popular, he has never won the popular vote, and he has never had popular support. For the past 3 years, especially post Roe V. Wade, Democrats have increasingly overperformed especially in special elections. There were so many polls predicting 2022 would be a Red Wave, that turned out to be false due to faulty and biased polling. I'm not saying a Dem loss is impossible, but it is a lot less of a sure thing than the doomsayers are making it out to be
How does Trump win? Apathy. Despair. Low Turn Out. While many of the "Trump is guaranteed to win" posters I'm sure are real people who are justifiably scared, I think we underestimate just how many are people at home and abroad, who want a lower turnout, who want Trump to win.
I used to hear a joke growing up that "If voting did anything, they would make it illegal" Well considering how hard Republicans are trying to discourage voting and making it hard to do, it must do something.
Don't despair. Don't panic. Don't retreat. ACT
So what can you do?
Are you registered to vote? 🗳
You can register to vote here! ☑️
Do you know what/ who will be on your ballot? 📄
Do you know your state voting requirements? 📥
Do you know your polling location? 📍
Can you vote early? 🖊
Can you vote by mail? 📬
Do you need disability services for voting? ♿️
Do you need to know your voter’s rights? 🧑🏽‍⚖️
Do you need a ride to register/ vote?
Spread this far and wide. Tell your friends and your family. Make clear to them what is at stake if Trump wins.
Additionally, here are two volunteer organizations that I help out with
Vote Forward - write letters to encourage turnout
Working Family's Party - an organization working to help progressives win in primaries and general elections. I particularly like working in their text bank program. Want to help in a phone bank but don't like talking on the phone? this is perfect as you send texts to encourage support and voting
Spread this far and wide. Tell your friends and your family. Make clear to them what is at stake if Trump wins. Feel free to add other resources and organizations that

Lonnie (alonzo) - caring, protective, seems to be the one in charge of the therapy toolbag
Valance - idk why he's here but he's every bit as angry, snappy, avoidant, sassy, messy, and like Him as ever (as a side note im p sure that having that campaign and having V05WALD just absolutely adore and love him regardless of how miserable he was was v good) ((i referred to him as wire mother for a bit which i think is funny but idk that he jibes w that))
A literal bear - bestie idk what happening here it isnt even anthro or anything, j like an actual bear who sleeps a lot and we arent supposed to wake it up bc it gets AnGErY
Um...me? ig? We'll say my name is O for now, i just spent a while taking stock of those who would semi respond ik theres more of us, actually sorry im chark which makes sense! I obvi have onions abt all the other folks based off of how i talk abt them which ik doesnt give them fair representation (sorry val <3) but we work w what we've got
I think that i dont like certain folks bc they feel bad when theyre in charge which makes Me feel bad bc we share a whole ass bod and thats not FUN! And i hate that for us so.. yk
Obvi the one w the hosts name, um code name: Frank, he's suuuper anxious which makes sense but I'M in charge rn and I'm Ignoring that so! We also dont really think that we Are split actually but that this is just a v helpful mode of understanding whats happening and processing how we feel
This whole thing was triggered by our use of 'we' while shopping today but like, historically thats how we referred to ourselves since like highschool
Also there were a few who i suspected might be in here and i called for them but ill explain more as i list them out here
I called for Roscoe and idk if they died?? Or j like valance is near the front and valance hates that bitch so when i tried my head got all achey, but if theyre there, ik theyre Really whiny but *I* think theyre very sweet (also might be the yearner) im like 90% sure they exist bc theyve been out before during like the 2019-20 dnd era
Speaking of I also called on Hugh Ugwu just to see and he's here!!! He j doesnt like to be out bc yk he was made for and is inherently attached to the world he comes from and this place doesnt really fit w him being a whole ass owl guy but we love and cherish him regardless
I also called for a Theo(dore) and i actually dk if they exist but there was like an empty hollow feeling i think if they do exist they're little and dont like to be out, idk there was a piece of me that felt super attached to that name when i was trying it out but also it felt horrid to be called by from other people
Ooooooh i just met the guy whose in charge of feeling shit and hes Not happy with me he's p upset like got on the verge of tears when i was asking who wanted to tell our therapist abt this and i asked him to come out and tell me his name and he j got really squinty and i started to feel all of my body so 😬
Also turns out that as much as i can type i CAN NOT actually talk out loud which is interesting,,, maybe im that one that Javi tried to talk to and i simply would NOT look at him
I also think that sometimes valance is also rosencrantz

yikes... you worshiping male characters regardless of what they do while criticizing jen walters for the few bad aspects of her show that can be attributed to the writers and not her... your blog says everything about why you make it a point to hate watch she-hulk every week and it's incredibly disappointing. i'm not some mcu fan who loves everything they put out, but man, it's tiring seeing people criticize media like she-hulk in bad faith waaaay more than mediocre white male media. oh well :/
This is... actually really funny because you don't always get anon hate that tells on itself so much.
I've been very clear and consistent about specifying that I don't dislike Jen Walters and in fact really like how she's portrayed by Tatiana Maslany. Her performance is the only really worthwhile thing the show has to offer, and it's why I find it so frustrating that they don't really do anything interesting with her. Every post I've made has been about the writing or specific narrative choices or the CGI or something to that effect.
As for me "worshipping male characters", whomst??? I'm not even really sure who this is about, as there's not a single male character I've posted about uncritically on here. Best guess is that this is about Matt Murdock, which like... I drag him constantly for being a shitty person and a crappy friend. I think his narrative arc is incredibly compelling and the Netflix series was really good, but I hope I don't need to explain to you that there's a difference between finding a character's narrative compelling and liking them as a person/co-signing their behavior, especially when you also criticize that behavior.
I think a lot of the criticism for she hulk has been bad faith dude bros whining because a woman was in a marvel thing, and that's dumb bullshit, but you can't lump all criticism in the same boat. My problem with she hulk, which is my problem with a lot of marvel's stories centered around women, is that they market them as though they're some groundbreaking feminist storytelling and then do very little to actually develop the story or characters well and coast on mediocrity that's only made passable by the talented women they cast. It's a huge disservice to the characters and to anyone who actually gives a shit about them. I'm not going to applaud them for crumbs, and if you're going to sell your work on it's "feminist storytelling" then you sure as shit better deliver more than a shallow girl power narrative. It's 2022.

now with all do politeness i think a cambodian roger design is really interesting but he certainly isn't as dark in your designs as he's implied to be in the books. im glad you recognized this though because its really hard when rogers design in outside media all depicts him as white. here's the textual evidence regarding rogers skin tone:
hes described specifically as dark.
Tumblr media
Now we know this isn't about his body language/atmosphere because other children are described as being both cheerful AND dark:
Tumblr media
here is every other mention of his skin tone:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"swarthy" and "dark."
also the fact that he doesn't really tan over the course of the story while simon, also described as being darker, DOES is a good indicator that he is very dark skinned:
Tumblr media
id say all this difference in description to simon pretty much confirms he is atleast darker than simon:
Tumblr media
this is where simon is described as "darkish" and "deep tan" whereas roger is "dark" and "swarthy" and does not tan.
i know this language is pretty vague for what we're used to, but with some simple inferences and textual comparisons it can be assumed roger is very dark skinned if not canonically black.
this is also to clear things up for the folks in your comments who genuinely think all the boys in the book are white or "english".
Tumblr media
please, fandom, dont make the mistake of assuming english means white- it is a nationality that has no bearing on someone's racial or ethnic identity. especially when a history of colonization and transatlantic slavery in the country is involved. and please don't allow the lack of representation for poc in novels to create the assumption in your mind that characters automatically are white when you read about them.
we need to do better as a fandom, and i know my post was definitely aggressive and might be the reason you actually received this ask, but it does get legitimately frustrating to see people brush off accuracy when it comes to roger and his skin tone. i don't mean any personal hate towards you though, because its a fandom wide issue. all this /nm.
hey bro i just wanted you to know that roger is pretty much canonically black, his complexion description is swarthy and he’s so dark he actually doesn’t tan on the island. just a heads up lmao
Hey man! You’re totally right to bring this to my attention and want some clarity on this. I just wanted to explain my design choices up as well as what influenced them for rogers design because I kinda did go off the cuff on how the fandom usually designs Roger.
FIRST: this is gonna be so lame, but I watched the schooling online video before reading the book a year ago (and they made him ghostly pale) so that really influenced how I saw the characters in my head.
SECOND: While it is implied that Roger could be black, it’s never explicitly stated. The most we are given is that he’s moody and has a darker complexion in the book, but a race is never stated other than that. I do not have the book on me right now, but I’m pretty sure most of the language is vague there? I have to check. Okay well anyways, it’s kinda my bad that he’s not as dark in my design cause I kinda omitted a lot of character descriptions in my head while reading and cause of that damn schooling online video. Right now, I designed Roger to be Cambodian because it mixed fandom design and my own personal touch on it (I’m viet and viets and Cambodians are pretty closely associated). I’ll tweak the design in future drawings of Roger to keep true to his swarthiness soldier 🫡
I like talking a lot sorry 😼😼😼 lmk if there’s something else I need to explain or what your thoughts on this are cause I can’t think for myself there’s a worm in my brain
