Since some of you have been curious about the ROs parents, I thought I’d just make a comprehensive list for you all! It’ll also help me in having something to easily reference back to when it’s needed.
Arthur Kingston — Father
Personality: Holds a great love for the outdoors — fishing, gardening, bird watching, etc — there isn’t anything like being surrounded by the crisp air of nature. A steadfast presence, never wavering or faltering, Arthur stands by his family through any storm; always willing to be a rock, always willing to shoulder their burdens if it meant they’d smile just a bit brighter.
Appearance: Standing at around 6’6”, Arthur has a lumberjack physique — strong but still looking huggable. Medium brown skin causes the gold within his honey brown eyes to stand out, complementing the dark black of his curly hair; that he typically cuts short, only ever allowing it to grow out during the winter months.
Ursula Kingston — Mother
Personality: Stricter than her husband, Ursula expects order and discipline within her house, but, despite that, she’s extremely loving and never feels more at peace than when her cubs are with her. Even if she’s hard to read at times, and her barking orders can be quite intimidating, there’s nothing she wouldn’t do for her family. The absolute epitome of a mama bear.
Appearance: With a taller stature, around 6’3”, Ursula has a stout physique. Medium brown skin complements the sharp brown of her gaze, allowing for her dark brown curls, that she typically has styled to just beneath her chin, to stand out elegantly. She’s a woman that exudes strength and serenity in equal measures.
Alaric Voltaire — Father
Personality: Alaric is a steadfast man that doesn’t take failure lightly. To some he can seem cruel — even to his own family — but he’s deeply committed to the vampiric race; ensuring its continued survival well into the future. He’s cunning, ambitious, perceptive, and, above all, intelligent enough to use the aforementioned traits of himself like weapons.
Appearance: He’s an imposingly tall man, standing at around 6’9”, with a muscular physique. Chilling sea green eyes, that are reminiscent of an endless winter, offsets the almost boyish onyx curls that frame his face, the longest of which falls to just over his shoulders; bringing focus to the dips of his cheeks and sharpness of his jaw. He has a fair complexion.
Yvonne Voltaire — Step Mother — ⟡
Personality: Yvonne, despite what some may expect, is a gently soft-spoken woman that offsets the chill her husband constantly brings. However, don’t let her sweet smiles and docile disposition fool you — there’s a reason she caught Alaric’s eyes enough for him to marry her. She’s a woman that would do anything to get what she wants or to protect her family.
Appearance: Dwarfed by her husband by a foot, as she stands only at 5’9”, Yvonne makes up for it by the general aura of her presence upon entering a room. Golden white hair falls to the middle of her back in waves, bringing out the honeyed undertone to her porcelain complexion, and complementing the ocean blue of her gaze. She has a slender build with a light musculature.
Lucian Aurelia — Father
Personality: He’s the kind of man to be in the middle of court with his child proudly situated on his thigh. Family, to him, has always meant the most — it’s fortunate that his wife has a propensity for dealing with the nobles and dignitaries. Soft-hearted and soft spoken, it’s of no surprise that many liken him to a teddy bear.
Appearance: Standing at a modest 5’6”, King Lucian has never let what he lacks vertically influence him the slightest. Thick honey-blonde locks of hair fall across his a beige-toned forehead, always being met with a flippant comb-through by his fingers, which brings out the warm gold within his gaze; crimson rarely ever making an appearance. From days of throwing his children into the air, or practicing with his guard, or running through the halls of the palace in a game of tag, King Lucian has developed a rather buff physique.
Elena Aurelia — Mother
Personality: She puts her responsibilities to the Eclipse Throne above all — even if it means she’s absent at times — but Elena has never wavered in shielding her children from any harm; even if her husband is the one they typically go to. Having a quick wit, paired with a silver tongue, and an attention to detail, Elena has done much for the supernatural world as a whole.
Appearance: Queen Elena stands at around 6’4”, her tall stature complementing her lithe physique. Raven black hair, that seems iridescent underneath the sun, falls down to her hips in a beautiful cascade; bringing out the pink hue of her full lips. Golden tanned skin causes the crimson within her dual-colored gaze to stand out, but the soft aureate quality acts as a gentle backdrop.
Dante Grant — Father
Personality: An apex predator, if there was ever one. Dante Grant enjoys the thrill of the hunt, the anticipation that thrums through his being, bloodlust coursing through his veins. He’s sadistic, only rarely showing mercy, but even then you’d probably wish you were dead, and revels in the fear he instills in others. It’s an intoxicating drug that he’ll forever chase the high of.
Appearance: An intimidating man standing at 6’8”, with an olive complexion. Black hair is styled neatly, with the sides cropped short and the top a bit longer, sometimes causing the strands to fall across his forehead. He has dark brown, nearly black, eyes that are as cold as obsidian. Dante has numerous tattoos: both his arms have sleeves, across his chest, and on the left side of his neck. He has a muscular physique.
Lucinda Grant — Mother — ⟡
Personality: Many who meet Lucinda Grant liken her to a viper with one key difference; a viper doesn’t smile before it strikes. Getting people to do her bidding isn’t a challenge — her powers of persuasion making it easy for people to listen; never realizing they’re being played. She’s said to not have a gentle bone in her body, but it’s an unspoken rule to never mess with her pups.
Appearance: Lucinda stands at 6’2”, having a lean physique that belies the strength her lupine form possesses. Dark brown hair, that has soft curls strewn throughout, falls to her shoulder blades, always elegantly styled and maintained. Her golden-olive toned complexion brings out the sapphire blue of her gaze, filled with a cunning intelligence.
Deimos Wilde — Father
Personality: Emotionally unavailable (read: awkward) is one way to put him. He doesn’t truly know how to convey the thoughts within his head into words, which is why they typically translate into actions; even said action is only a pat on the shoulder. Extremely loyal, willing to lay down his life for the pack, he’s tough and won’t ever back down from a fight.
Appearance: Deimos stands at around 6’0”, with an athletic physique. Golden brown skin — marked with a few tattoos — brings out the sharp black of his gaze, the left one being a stony gray — a scar running through the brow to the top of his cheek — after a fight gone wrong. Ebony black hair is cropped short; another scar running from the base of his skull, a little behind his right ear, to the top of his shoulder. He takes great pride in the scars dotted across his body as they showcase his willingness to sacrifice for his pack.
Lyraea Noire — Mother
Personality: One never truly know what’s going on within her mind; a master at carefully choosing her words to never fully commit, or implicate, herself, but still offering some substance to keep someone interested. Flirtatious and seductive, common qualities among succubi and incubi, Lyraea seems to exemplify it — a goddess among them… One that many have tried, and failed, to tie down. Her only true commitment being to that of being a mother.
Appearance: With an hourglass figure, Lyraea complements her stature with the heels that typically adorn her feet; bringing her height of 5’11” to upwards of 6’3”. Shimmering purple eyes, that are reminiscent of an amethyst, bring out the gold within her silvery-blonde hair, allowing for her golden tanned complexion to stand out even more; her skin marked by three tattoos.
Nathaniel Presley — Father — ⟡
Personality: An inquisitive nature is the first thing anyone would take note when it comes to Nathaniel Presley — an undeniable thirst to learn more, to find out the hidden wonders of the world — it’s that exact that he’s passed off to his child. He adores the world and all the wonders it brings — from a mighty waterfall, to a delicate butterfly, and a rolling storm — with an almost childlike sense of awe.
Appearance: Not standing much taller than his wife at about 5’5”. Light brown hair typically falls haphazardly across his forehead, as he typically forgets to style it, which complements the tanned complexion of his skin. Gentle hazel eyes taking in the world from behind thin-rimmed glasses. He has a slender physique.
Althea Presley — Mother
Personality: Home cooked meals and big family gatherings are the crux of who Althea is; extremely family oriented, she’d break her back if it meant getting everything prepared for everyone to enjoy. With a gentle, yet firm, touch, she doesn’t play around when it comes to academics and hobbies, but she’d always support her children in their endeavors — no matter what.
Appearance: Having a stature of only 5’0”, Althea truly brings life to the phrase “tiny but mighty”. Golden brown hair falls to just over shoulders, bringing out the golden undertone to her beige complexion, and complementing the underlying gray within her cobalt blue gaze. She has a petite physique.
⟡ — Symbolizes the RO prefers them over the other; if it’s not included then they don’t have a favorite (or don’t prefer one over the other).
Important Note: Caden has been excluded as they don’t have any (living) parents — and referencing their family in general is spoilers. Blake’s other parent is a mystery in general and Sloane’s family is complicated in general (the only one I can truly reference being their father).

Imagine: Scar turning human so he can seduce you.
*set in the House of Villains universe. Ursula turned him.
Also don't ask me how this works with Lion vs human lifespans, I don't know. Just ignore it 😅
Scar turns into a very dashing older gentleman, of course. Long pitch-black hair he either leaves down in a fluffy dead mess or even ties up in a high ponytail after some-time in the new human body, sharp green eyes made brighter by gorgeous dark skin, and lanky. -And, being his wicked self, he absolutely notices how the new appearance effects one little... old... you. Even if he doesnt particularly care for the odd look, your reactions to just him standing a little too close to you- make it all too worth it.
Scar starts immediately making your life hell, as soon as he gets used to walking up on two legs. Popping up anywhere you are needing help (somehow he always knows when you're in dire straights?? I mean- of course he does), offering his assistance and a few flirty little comments. First to make you aware what he wanted, and then to convince you. Entice you.
Scar fucking up basic tasks like carrying trays (letting the tray tilt so food and drinks slip off and crash to the ground) and opening clipboards (letting all the paper slip out onto the floor), because he's not used to thumbs. It's endearing as fuck and somehow he manages to make an 'oops' look charming with too-wide, too-pretty green eyes and the ease of an older man who knows a little bit of clumsy can be cute.
Scar gracefully scaring off mean villains who decide to get nasty with you because they're in a bad mood. No, his teeth may not be as sharp as they were but he'll still use them. It'll be a shame to get blood on this shirt but he will. 'Keep that in mind, old woman.'
Scar finally winning you over and guess what? He may look like a man but he's still affectionate like a lion. He does not give a flying fuck who's around, who's watching, when he comes up behind you. When the old man draws your body back against his too-snuggly and licks the flat of his tongue over your shoulder, and neck, your pressure point. He loves to taste your skin and feel your pulse point jump. Why should he care? Your stuffy idea of what he can and cannot do to his mate when he wants are of no consequence to him. So pathetically human. Far too human for him. 'Sc- Scar! Frollo is- ' 'Let the little man shriek. I truly could not care even a slither less, Y/N.'
Scar truly not noticing it if anyone else takes interest in him in his new, Hot, human form. He only has eyes for you. Medusa could be hardcore flirting with him across the table and Scar's busy listening to you talk to Hades and Rourke, and fingering the edge of your top between his fingers. She could throw herself at him and he'd conveniently side step her just in time. Okay. Maybe he notices; he's a smart man. But he absolutely acts like he doesn't XD
Scar paying Ursula back for the transformation by delivering to her poor Edgar, who is now her servant. 'Hmm- I take it this means you won the girl over??' 'Mhmm, take the old butler now. I have a young woman to mate. Sorry, Edgar, business and all that.'

The Earthsea Quartet (A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, The Farthest Shore, Tehanu) von Ursula K. Le Guin Endlich habe ich auch den letzten Roman in dieser vierbändigen Sammelausgabe beendet.

Day 4 of our Pride Month Event, with Kit!
Kit, Author of The Northern Passage
It’s cold, so cold, and your head aches, your ears pop, water choking your throat and nose, all you can do is watch as the sky gets farther and farther away from you. Clawed hands grab at your ankles, your legs, your arms, pulling you down, tearing at your clothes and piercing your skin.
You convulse violently, your body struggling to expel the water from your lungs as more floods in.
Staring up into the fading light, you feel your body grow weak, giving in, sinking now, your blood churning all around you in the water. A hand grabs at your throat, caressing a thumb over your skin, pulling you down as the dark water turns red.
The Northern Passage is an 18+ horror fantasy CYOA, where you play as a hunter sent up north to investigate a series of missing people along the border of your home country and in the port cities of the Blackwater. Working with your handler, Lea, you will travel north and discover that things are far worse than you ever could have imagined, and that there is something powerful lurking out in the deep, dark sea…
Read more about The Northern Passage here. Play the Demo here. Kit's Patreon. Kit is also the author of Siren’s Call.
EDIT: TNP and SC are on a temporary pause until further notice.
[INTERVIEW TRANSCRIPT UNDER THE CUT!]
Q1 - Please, introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your project(s)!
I'm Kit, and The Northern Passage is an interactive fantasy horror novel, where you play as a beast hunter tasked with uncovering the source of a string of disappearances in the small and isolated city of Highfell.
The Northern Passage is, at its core, a story about humanity. Humanity being all the ways in which we are different, and all the ways in which we are the same. Humanity being both savagely brutal and incredibly kind. Humanity in the face of loss and violence and unimaginable horrors, and all the quiet little moments in between.
In my work, I want to challenge the idea of what is really good or bad, what is really human or monstrous - both in The Northern Passage and in my side project, Siren's Call. How far is too far? And who is the person that gets to draw that line to begin with? Humanity isn't just being kind, it's also being angry, it's holding grudges, it's holding hate and regret and grief close to your chest just as much as it is being kind and compassionate and forgiving.
Q2 - What or who are some of your biggest inspirations?
I don't know that there's any one thing that inspires me, really. I grew up reading and watching Lord of the Rings, and I would be remiss not to say that it had a big influence on me and my love for the fantasy genre. Ursula K. Le Guin is someone I didn't start reading until later in life, and a lot of her work really resonates with me. I also read and watch a lot of horror; the Southern Reach trilogy is one of my favorites. Otherwise, as corny as it sounds, I'm inspired a lot by the work of my friends, and I'm grateful for all of the people that share their process and their stories with me.
Q3- What excites you most about IF? What drew you to the medium?
I really favor character-driven stories, both as a writer and a reader, and one of the things I really like about IF is the way the medium allows for character exploration. Different players who make different choices are going to potentially see vastly different sides of a character throughout the story, as they react to your decisions and struggle to deal with the consequences of the player's actions.
It's almost three dimensional, the way you can flesh out a character in these branching narratives, revealing certain secrets and quirks in one variation that you may never have learned about in another. Even just the most subtle of differences can have a heavy weight behind them, in my opinion. This all goes for the player character, as well; different personality types, different relationships, different choices - it all allows you to explore so much more about what type of person this character is, and just how different of a person they will be by the end of this story.
Q4 - Are your characters influenced by your identity? How?
Definitely. I think my identity both influences & drives a lot of my work. I started working on both of my projects because I enjoy dark fantasy and historical fantasy, but it's a genre that can be hard to stomach most of the time due to the way it treats people like me - as well as other marginalized groups - for the sake of "realism" or "historical accuracy." I wanted a story with trans characters, characters that I could share my experiences with and see myself in, characters that I knew weren't there just to be set up for some terrible stereotypical storyline of suffering and misery. My characters are complex and reckless and silly and good and bad and they're trans, too. And maybe they'll suffer a bit and be miserable for a while but it's not going to be because they're trans - it's going to be a part of their experiences that happen alongside their transness - but never because of their transness.
Q5 - What are you most excited about sharing related to your project?
I can't wait to introduce more of the main characters. I'm really excited for people to meet the younger cast in the upcoming chapter, and to see how the relationship between them and the older main cast develops as the game progresses. And of course, there are more than a few narrative reveals that I've been scheming about for quite some time and am really excited for.....
Q6 - What would you like to see more of in LGBT+ fiction/IF community?
Well... a lot, to be honest. I feel like we've definitely made a lot of improvements since I started, but sometimes it feels like we take one step forward and two steps back. I don't mean to imply that it needs to be perfect, that's simply not possible! And it's really great now seeing so many trans characters, especially as desirable love interests. When I started two years ago that was almost unheard of in this particular space. But I really wish both readers and authors would be more mindful in the way they talk about trans characters - and by extension, real trans people.
One thing I always keep in mind is that these characters are fictional, and I am the author - I am the one making the decisions. How do my decisions read to someone on the outside, what kind of implications can these choices have beyond my story? What am I really saying when I do this or that with this particular character? How does this reflect on the real people in this marginalized group? Some early criticism I received pointed out to me the importance of character agency - I am the author, but I can write it in a way that gives the character some agency over their situation; and I find that especially important when it comes to gender identity and sexuality, particularly with the way the gender-selectable mechanic works in IF.
Along that line, I also want to see more gay characters that exist outside of the player. I want more genderlocked gay romance, characters that have agency over their stories, that have a history and experiences beyond the player character, and I want it all to be acknowledged and respected.

post-patriarcat, oui,

Do you have any complaints about HP canon, and if so, what are they? For example I know a lot of people really dont like that Draco didnt get a redemption arc, but your work seems to really thrive off of a close reading of canon Draco in a way I think a lot of fanfic just cant because hes like... a very bad person. Its made me wonder if you are very... canon positive? I guess? Or more positive than most, maybe.
I have too many complaints about HP canon to list in an ask, but I can try to list some of them. First I want to say that choosing to use canon to inform your fic has less to do with whether or not you like the canon and more to do with what you like or want from fanfic. If you don’t like that Draco wasn’t redeemed, you can write a fic that posits he is redeemed and so that canon doesn’t have to be dealt with. Or, you can write a fic that shows how he gets redeemed or deals with the fact of his redemption to show what canon could have been. I obviously prefer the latter style, though I respect anyone’s choice to write in the former style. I can’t say I always understand the former style, but I respect the fact that people want to do it and should if that’s what they want.
I will say that I’m not sure I’ve ever written a fic that’s fully canon compliant, and I can’t quite imagine wanting to. Most of my fics a response to canon--they’re about something that wasn’t in canon, that I wish was in canon; or they’re about something that wasn’t in canon, and I don’t want to be in canon, but I still want to be explored. I wish the MCU would actually deal with the responsibility of wielding outsized power of destruction, so I wrote MCU fics. I do not want Schitt’s Creek to deal with the darkness of David Rose’s trauma or past, but I was still interested in it, so I wrote darker SC fic. I love Star Trek TOS, but I want to see Kirk and Spock hook up, so I wrote TOS fic.
There are a few things where I like the canon just the way it is, so I don’t write fic for it. Rainbow Rowell’s Carry On series is just what I want. I don’t need to write fic.
Back to my complaints with HP canon, the major problem I had was a lot of set up without the follow-through I expected or desired. I discussed that in my tumblr posts about Ron and Ginny. The set up of the Harry Potter universe is rather black and white, which I appreciate--it’s easy to get invested; it’s easy to consume. You know who the good guys are right away, and there’s no more complication. LOTR is rather like that, and I love it. But then HP begins to deconstruct its premise--James Potter was good, but he wasn’t kind. Dumbledore was trying to stop Voldemort, but he wasn’t honest. Snape is a horrible person, but he’s trying to do the right thing. This is my favorite sort of story, the one that starts black and white--vampires are evil; the robots will kill us, and the Gems that didn’t rebel are the enemy. Then a vampire earns his soul, or you find out you’re a robot, or--well, actually I didn’t like where Stephen Universe really went with that, but you get the picture. The Harry Potter series began the process of turning its own premise inside out, but somewhere in Halfblood Prince, that got too hard, and things began to snap back to their original shape. Good is good, actually, and bad people will always be bad.
One example of this is the death of Voldemort. Harry is set up as a mirror to Voldemort. Their pasts are very similar. Harry even feels compassion for Voldemort. At several different points, Harry is faced with the fact that he has to kill Voldemort. But Harry never has to deal with killing Voldemort, or with making a decision to spare Voldemort. In the end, Voldemort causes his own end as a result of his own destructive tendencies. This makes me feel that the text is suggesting that Voldemort deserves death. The idea that anyone “deserves” death for bad things they’ve done is not something I believe in or ascribe to. But even if it is the argument the text wants to make--what was the point of showing us that Tom Riddle was lonely, hurt, feared, and probably mistreated? The point really appears to be to show that two boys can have the same background and one turns out good while the other turns out bad, because goodness is inherent to some people while evil is inherent to others. I find this conclusion abhorrent, but I feel the conclusion is ultimately borne out by plenty of other aspects of the HP books.
The other example is Draco’s lack of redemption. I do not think villains have to be redeemed. The world has proven that shitty people can remain shitty. I also appreciate stories that show us the humanity of shitty people. A story about someone who is faced with thier bad choices but continues to make bad choices because they’re too afraid to do otherwise can be a good story. But I guess with Draco, I felt like I saw enough of his inner turmoil to understand why his heart would change, but not a thorough explanation of why it wouldn’t. Combined with many other similar characterizations in HP canon, it just feels like more essentialism--bad people are bad, and that’s how it is. I don’t mean there’s no nuance--as I said, the series does begin to deconstruct its own premise; we even saw how the Trio could be shitty. But ultimately they make the right choices. The characters who make the wrong choices generally continue to make them, except for Snape and Dudley. My complaint with those two representing a change of heart is that we don’t get to see the actual painful process of what that looks like--Snape’s happens pre-canon and there is too little of Dudley to show what is going on in Dudley’s brain.
The last thing I absolutely hate about HP is a lot of the “bad” characters tend to be overweight or unappealing in appearance. It’s true that a lot of this might be Harry’s POV--maybe Snape actually is the sex god some fics make him out to be, and Harry just he’s greasy because he doesn’t like him, and maybe Harry doesn’t like a good hook nose (I do). Additionally, Lockhart is very pretty, and while I want to firmly stress that Draco is never describes as good-looking, he’s not really described as ugly, and I believe Narcissa is even described as beautiful. But the book isn’t written in close third-person Harry POV, and “pointy” isn’t very flattering. Unkind words and stereotypes are used throughout to highlight the badness or evil of almost all the characters we’re not “supposed to” like. The descriptions of the Dursleys in particular are upsetting.
In my opinion, the above examples demonstrate a lack of compassion at the heart of the HP story. That’s what I’ve always hated about it and what always made me want to write about it. I want to write and say, “Look at this. This is fucked up. This is wrong.” Some people don’t read fic for that reason, and I think that’s fine. Plenty of those people really hate my fic, which is also fine. I know that many things in this world lack compassion, and I don’t spend years of my life writing fanfic about them. I think the reason I keep coming back is to me, the premise was unkind--which I was fine with, and then the text itself began to deconstruct itself--which I was overjoyed by. It made me fall in love with the series. But when the premise snapped back to an essentially black and white world, I felt betrayed.
In conclusion, I find HP at its very essence to be unkind. Ursula K Le Guin said it best when she said that it was “ethically rather mean-spirited.”

If you were forced to name one thing you hate about each the core Overtaker's, what would it be?
For some of them, this is gonna be easy. For others, this is gonna be really hard. I'm gonna do my best though...
Maleficent - In Sleeping Beauty, there is absolutely NOTHING that I hate about her. She's literally perfect. But over in Kingdom Hearts I can answer that. I hate how she is reduced to a secondhand villain and the Big Bad Wannabe in comparison to Xehanort. It doesn't suit her, and it's kinda just a trashy way to build up Xehanort as "Eviler Than Thou." It just makes her feel degraded and not like herself, and that's actually what spurred QAGA in the first place - my desire to right the ship XD
Hades - Easy one, I hate that his voice actor, James Woods, is a terrible person. And what's worse is that Woods is so openly terrible on twitter that it's hard to ignore. Sometimes it's hard to reconcile loving Hades when his voice actor is so terrible, but the character is so good and so special to me that I have to.
Ursula - I hate that they try to make her into Triton's sister in the Broadway Musical based on the deleted concept from the film. It doesn't match their dynamic, imo, and we'd seen sibling rivalry hatred already done better with Hades/Zeus and Scar/Mufasa. Pat Carroll sees Ursula and Triton as ex-lovers and several tie-in books agree, and THAT matches their dynamic in the movie much better.
Loki - I hate that he's such a fangirl bait character that Marvel themselves both in the comics and the MCU pandered to that by turning him into a redeemed good guy who feels like a shadow of his former self. He was and is one of the greatest villains of all time, but Marvel actively stripped Loki of pretty much everything that made him cool in order to appeal to the loudest sect of his fanbase instead of just doing justice by the character. He more than any other character makes me keenly aware of how the rest of fandom has moved away from just liking good villains as villains.
Doctor Doom - A very light one in this case, but I hate how despite the fact that he has SUCH a cool design, he can look so OFF depending on the art style, particularly with his mask. Some artists make him look so doofy, and even when he doesn't look doofy, sometimes the artists make his mask look fatter or more squashed than it actually is supposed to be. I wish he was more consistent with his design.
Russell Edgington - I hate how he was killed off before the opening credits of the season five finale. I liked his actual death scene a lot, but given how great of a villain he was and how little he'd gotten to do that season, which was supposed to be his "big return," it just felt premature and like a waste. He deserved more time.
Fish Mooney - Same EXACT problem as Russell except worse. I hate how she was killed off so abruptly and unceremoniously in the season three finale. Once again, I LIKED the death itself and her dying in Penguin's arms. That was really good. But just the fact that she did basically nothing after returning and then got killed off suddenly and without any build up was just bad.
Jafar - This is probably the hardest one to come up with something, because I don't really hate anything about Jafar. I think he's pretty perfect. I guess I hate that he's not in the Aladdin TV series. Does that count? Hades and Ursula got to be the villains of their respective shows. We couldn't have gotten some more adventures fighting Jafar?
Captain Hook - I hate pretty much everything the show did with him from season three onward. Like season two and season three onward Hook genuinely do feel like two separate characters. The writers very obviously changed everything about him to capitalize on Colin being a handsome heartthrob by making him into a love interest instead of a villain. He and Loki have a very similar answer to this question. Keep my boys as bad guys, dammit.
Queen Grimhilde - Another really hard one. I guess I hate that there's not more scenes of her as the queen. I understand completely why most of her scenes are the more cartoonish looking witch because it was easier to animate back in the early days of hand drawn animation. But she looks so cool and Lucille LaVerne does such a good job as the queen that I wish we could have gotten more screentime of her. Sometimes I have trouble getting LaVerne's voice for her in my head when I'm writing and I have to default to Susanne Blakeslee, which isn't ideal for Grimmie.
