I've been a fan of Il Divo since my college years...
Recently, I found out that they will come to the States for a tour and I bought tickets immediately. I was very excited about the concert; been listening to their old albums lately, reminiscing about the cold autumn mornings when I would take the bus to the campus and listen to Il Divo from my mp3 player. Today I found out that Carlos passed away, I'm devastated. It felt like a piece is torn away from my good memories.
For me, every time I find out about one of my favorite artist's death, it feels like I lost another like-minded friend; someone who sees the world like I do, speaks the same language as me, interprets this whole social chaos in a way that is similar to mine... Well, now I lost another one. He left beautiful songs behind, which will remind me of good, hopeful times from the past. Rest in piece Carlos!

An interview with Urs who talks about the concert and of course about carlos who hi say was very talented and especially disciplined to do things and the right things.
Saw already some bad reactions but that’s not necessary it’s not a bad article but a good one, it’s how Urs it see. If you comment on here the. Please do it on the right abs friendly way.

Translation of the interview :
TELESHOW Urs Bühler and the return of Il Divo, after the death of Carlos Marín: "I was devastated, but he was a very complicated person to work with" On May 8, the group will perform at Luna Park, as part of their world tour. In dialogue with Teleshow, the singer anticipated the recital and also remembered his colleague who died in December Sophia Della Bernardine For Sophia Della Bernardine April 22, 2022
Urs Bühler Said That They Thought About Dissolving Il Divo After The Death Of Carlos Marín 0 seconds of 2 minutes, 6 seconds
Urs Bühler said that they thought of dissolving Il Divo after the death of Carlos Marín (Video: Teleshow) Nothing will be the same for Il Divo since last December 19. That day, and after being intubated and in an induced coma, Carlos Marín died at the age of 53 , a victim of COVID-19. The mythical musical group was left without one of its members and everything was pain, there was no strength to continue. They believed that at first, but the encouragement and messages from their fans made them reconsider. So tells Urs Bühler , also on behalf of David Miller and Sébastien Izambard , to Teleshow .
"Now after all that, and also after two years of confinement, going on stage without Carlos was very exciting, very hard, because we were crying all night," he says, very moved, about the world tour that the three of them started together. Mexican - American baritone Steven LaBrie , with whom they will also perform on May 8 at Luna Park .
How did his departure affect you as a group? I imagine it must have been very difficult.
-It was very strong because obviously with the relationship that we had between the four of us, these 18 years that we have lived together almost every day of our lives, something so intense had been forged. And go on stage without him… we are singers, our body is our instrument, you are producing emotions, which you are transmitting to the public and cannot be hidden. At a given moment, he hits you and for a memory the world falls on you, tears fall or your breath stops . And that at first happened to us every night, now we've gotten a little used to it. But the memory and soul of Carlos lives in each concert.
David Miller, Sébastien Izambard and Urs Bühler invited the Mexican-American baritone Steven LaBrie to their world tour, with which they will arrive in Buenos Aires on May 8 David Miller, Sébastien Izambard and Urs Bühler invited the Mexican-American baritone Steven LaBrie to their world tour, with which they will arrive in Buenos Aires on May 8 —What memory do you have of Carlos Marín?
Carlos had an exceptional voice. But he was a very complicated person to work with, he had a lot of personality, he was very black and white. We have learned to know each other very well in these 18 years, so we knew very well how to manage each other and how to manage the group.
"In what way complicated?"
—Because for Carlos there was a yes or a no, and nothing in between. Sometimes we have told him “there are four of us in the group, it is a democracy”. Okay, but if the three of us agreed and Carlos didn't, it wasn't done because, what are you going to do if the other doesn't come? When Carlos wanted something, he had a force to move mountains and if you had him on your side, if the energies united, we could get what we wanted, impressive. But if this unit was not there, forget it, there was no way.
—After his death, did you think about dissolving the group or were you always clear that you were going to move on?
I was in shock for days. I didn't know what was going to happen. Actually, my first thought was that this was the end of Il Divo. I was devastated, but the reason why we have decided to continue is because we have had so many messages on social networks from fans who have told us that it was terrible and they were sorry, but they asked us please not to end Il Divo. There are a lot of people who tell us that our music has helped them get through "my husband's death, cancer" or whatever. It sounds very dramatic, but we have received many messages like this. It seems that our music has done a lot of good for a lot of people, it's not something that goes out of style. Our fans are very loyal and have a very deep relationship with our music. That has made us talk about whether to follow the three or seek a fourth voice. And now we're on tour again with Steven LaBrie , who is invited at the moment, he sings the voices of Carlos and he does it very well.
Ildivo Interview 0 seconds of 2 minutes, 2 seconds
Urs Bühler recounted the friction they had with Carlos Marín in Il Divo (Video: Teleshow) —Perhaps it is also what he would have wanted, that they continue with the group
—If this had happened to one of the three of us, Carlos would have continued, without a doubt. And he would also have wanted us to continue, he has always said that. Once in an interview he said that her favorite song was "Show must go on " by Queen . There you have it, that was his attitude.
—How was the moment when you decided to return to the ring?
—With the days and with all the messages that we have had to follow, we have begun to talk. Obviously we like to sing more than anything in the world, and we like to sing together. Little by little, we have contacted our director again. Everything has been marked by a lot of communication. It has been a slow process, but very organic and beautiful, with a lot of emotion, very open, honest. And we have arrived at what we present on this tour to the public.
Carlos Marín, a member of Il Divo, died on December 19 in Manchester (EFE/ José Méndez) Carlos Marín, a member of Il Divo, died on December 19 in Manchester (EFE/ José Méndez) —His death was caused by covid, did that make you more aware of the pandemic?
—I don't know… I was always aware of the pandemic. I have heard people say that it is all a manipulation of governments and pharmaceutical companies, but it seems amazing to me how a person can think like that. I have always believed that the virus is real, I do not know if it was necessary to vaccinate the entire population because I am not a doctor, but I believe that the pandemic has been and is real, it has cost us many lives. But at a given moment, you have to accept that this is part of life and that is why in Europe now life is normal.
-That's why now the concerts are also resuming little by little, people also need it….
—That is something that we feel a lot now that we are on tour after two years. Obviously we couldn't wait to get back on stage, but we felt it with the audience too. It is very sad what has happened, many mourn the loss of Carlos, but everyone is so happy to be able to sit in a theater again and enjoy music. That the world needs.
—What will the Carlos Marín Foundation consist of?
—We are looking for the conservatory where he has studied and we want to support young talent so that they can study. People who have no chance. The idea is to get the money with a certain type of merchandising exclusive to Carlos. He lived through and through his voice, his music and it seems to me the most logical thing that if we pay homage to him, it would be along this path.
—Can you share some details of the show in Buenos Aires?
—First, obviously we are going to study the entire show in Spanish (Laughter) to be able to communicate with the public. At first we planned to promote the album, but now it's a tribute to Carlos. Every song we sing, every word we say, there is a connotation to Carlos.I think it's a very nice show, very respectful, very elegant. It helps the three of us a lot, and I hope the fans too, as a cathartic way to work through our emotions with the loss we've had. And we have some surprises that obviously I'm not going to tell because otherwise they are not surprises. Since he was Spanish, he was the Latino of the group, I am very curious how the Latino public is going to react. We really want to be able to finally return to Buenos Aires, sing with the Argentine public. We promise that we will spend a wonderful night together.
