We received an urgent plea to save this very sick dog at the Lancaster ACC. #5263036 Violet came to the shelter a couple of weeks ago and is not doing well. She is extremely malnourished and has been loosing weight every day. She is terribly neglected and her skin is in a very poor contrition. Violet has a bloody diarrhea and is vomiting occasionally. The shelter doesn’t have resources to take care of the dog in this condition and are seeking help from us. She is a RO dog with a health waiver and will need to go to a vet immediately so they could run analysis and figure out what’s wrong with her. Even thought she is only 2 years old Violet is very close to her end judging by the way she looks and acts. Even though we had extreme expenses lately ( Joy’s surgery, Turtle emergency delivery and Willows tests and treatment ) we cannot stop thinking about this girl and would love to help her. We know that without our help Violet has no chance in life. It’s not fair that she dies all alone and sick after being so terribly neglected and abused. Not on our watch. She’s withdrawn & afraid. She struggles to trust. Because of her observed behavior, she’s labeled rescue only. And now, she’s been given a deadline by the shelter. Her only hope is rescue. When you walk by her kennel, she charges and lunges but when opening her kennel door, she retreats and barks. Definitely, misunderstood and gives opposing signals. This gorgeous 4 year old, 62 lbs girl is a playful lady who takes correction well, knows “sit,” “stay” and just loves playing with her ball! Angel is one SMART lady, and she CONNECTS very well with her human pals! She also has the cutest lil’ gallop when she gets out of her kennel, and into the yard! To look into Angel’s eyes is to see a girl who just desperately wants love and a forever home. Angel was first brought into the shelter system after she was found as a stray in September 2019. Shortly after being found, she was introduced to another dog, and subsequently involved in an incident that resulted in a bite. Angel was then briefly adopted in October, but returned 10/12/20. Since being at the shelter she had a good dog meet. Slow, proper intros with any dogs are always recommended. Angel deserves the patience she needs to thrive! She sits in her kennel every day, hoping this will be the one she’s swooped away by a human who will give her the companionship, decompression, and consistency she needs.
