She’s withdrawn & afraid. She struggles to trust. Because of her observed behavior, she’s labeled rescue only. And now, she’s been given a deadline by the shelter. Her only hope is rescue. Shelter plea 1/6/22: Gold Mattie A514181… Left behind by her owner, she is still highly kennel reactive and scared. When you walk by her kennel, she charges and lunges but when opening her kennel door, she retreats and barks. Definitely, misunderstood and gives opposing signals. He was transferred from South LA Shelter where he didn’t have any human or dog interaction. Ghost was abandoned by the same owner who abandoned our pregnant mama Daisy. We suspect that he is the father of Daisy’s babies and that gives us even more reasons to help Ghost. Ghost is not doing well in the kennel. He is shaking and is very scared. He also has a bad upper respiratory infection and needs to get treatment ASAP. Infection is so bad that blood is coming out of his nose. We need to help him!! 🆘 EMERGENCY - NEEDS OUT BY 5 pm Wednesday October 6th. He was neutered & he opened up his incision. It has been treated & drains put in per below, but needs he help & monitoring outside of a shelter environment. Send pull to: rescue@moval.org 🆘 🔷 VIDEO FILMED SAT. 10/2 PRIOR TO HIS SURGERY 🔷 TROOPER #A511473 (Moreno Valley, CA) Neutered Male, black and brown German Shepherd Dog. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years. I weigh approximately 84.00 lbs (now 60 lbs) I have been at the shelter since Jul 12, 2021 Medical notes: 10/5/21 TTDex: 0.38mL IV Benz: 4.2mL SQ Opened scrotal incision and expressed clots. Flushed scrotum with saline 3x. No active bleeding observed. Scrotum still appears viable at this time. Placed a Penrose drain through scrotum. Closed prescrotal incision w/ 2-0 Sorb intradermal. Maintained on LRS 90mL/hr IV throughout day. Recommend rescue today or tomorrow for further care as dog does not seem to be doing well in shelter as seen by weight loss. Continue medication as Rx'd below. DVM recheck tomorrow + check scrotum daily Drain removal in 4d 10/04/21 Check scrotum, EXTREMELY swollen & bleeding. Took to vet clinic. Rx'd Rimadyl 100mg 1/2 tab BID and Clavamox 375mg 1 tab bid. They filled the scrip so meds are with techs, Extra note: dog has lost a significant amount of weight since brought to shelter. Mercy pts may need to be elected if no immediate exit can be found. Please advise of recommendation to supervisor. 7/13/21 Brought to vet clinic Dog has a ~3mm laceration on P3 of R FL. The good news is that Jack went to the overnight emergency clinic last night & was able to stay for observation. He did much better & was able to come back to the shelter this morning. What would have made the news great is if we were able to tell you he had a rescue which as of yet, he does not. He is still in need of one though. His left eye is also an issue & will need medication that we don’t have here. So in an effort to save his other eye & his vision, he is still in need of an immediate rescue pull. Please, help this guy, he is really a very happy boy with lots of energy & love to share. Medical notes: 7/1/21 Proptosis (bulging eye) secondary to glaucoma Tonopen (eye pressure measurement)- OD: 60, OS: 30. Both eyes are affected. Recommend immediate rescue as other eye will need to be medicated to save vision & medication is not available here. SF approved enucleation of non-viable OD with neuter- was performed today.
