Wasn't feeling my 100% this week. Had some major migraine issues bit was pleasantly surprised when. I woke up this am and saw I have several san marzano tomatoes on the vine, several baby jalapenos on the plants, green beans going crazy and vining everywhere which is awesome and discovered what our mystery pepper plant is, which turned out to be an alma Paprika pepper. Spring has def sprung and summer is almost here with our highs in the kid 90s already. Guys, My event made the paper! This was the first show that I organized. I'll be doing another one in December It says: About 2 dozen people sold their wares at a 2 day long Crafters fair at fertile earth nursery. Organizer Kay Spencer said the event was put together to help Crafters who have been put out of work by the covid 19 outbreak. First harvest of the year was snap peas for stir fry lunch. I had a good handful of these on the vines. They were perfectly tasty. The first seeds I set out a week ago to start sprouting have emerged. This is spinach, which for the last few years I've had some trouble getting to grow here. We're trying for way earlier this year as I'm thinking it's the early onset heat we get that just wouldn't let them grow well. So far so good.. Most the country is still in deep winters but I feel fortunate enough to live where i can grow food year round. I do envy those who get snow during the winter, not the freezing snowed in kinda snow but enough to make a snowman or snowball if you wanted to. Day 6 #fallhomesteadshare This is around the time of year these adorable creatures that entertain me on really hot summer nights when I'm outside at 2am trying to cool off, start to find burrows or make them for winter. We don't get really cold here on comparison to most other places in the world. Here's to hoping for double population in my area for these little guys.
