What kind of process do you use for liek drawing them?

Do you do the mapping out shapes of their skulls first?

(Trying to change up my art style and I've been trying to take tips from other artists and combine them to see if something comes out right by doing so)

ur wording isn't bad, dw! tbh i don't do much mapping, n how i draw them isn't much different than how i draw ppl in general, but i will explain my simplistic process for a general sans skull :3 (may or may not rb this with how i draw the body, we'll see)

(under read more bc it's kinda long)

so i start out with the classic circle and cross guidelines (determines the angle of the head n where the eyes, ears, nose n shit goes) (this is all the guidelines i rly need for the skull nowadays, but someone less experienced might want more detailed ones, which you should be able to find tutorials for head guides pretty easily.)

n then i add a lil sideways v for between the curve of the eyebrow and the cheek. right on the line across the face.

and then i draw the rounded jaw which comes into a sorta half curl where the ear would be, and the top of the skull. (where exactly the curve of the skull connects on the jaw depends on the angle, but this is just generally)

then i add the features. the eye sockets sit on the line across the face. the nose does not go in the middle unless it's a straight on shot.

n one more thing i thought to mention: the brow bone area moving with the eyebrow.

it may seem obvious but i feel like it's something ppl may not think about.

and she suggested saddle shoes? she used them as cheerleading shoes apparently, but according to her and google, they’re also used for swing dancing, golf, and making walking more comfortable because they’re apparently one of the more comfortable heeled dancing shoes?

and i think it’s pretty accurate actually. the only thing throwing me off is the toe covers but! best guess!

I'm gonna be 100% honest: Would doing it monochromatic/sketchy/flat colors/etc. make it a whole lot easier? Absolutely!

And I tried that, actually. I wanted to make it limited in color palette with flat colors and only shaded for key parts.

HOWEVER. I didn't know how to make it look to my liking. And I just... hated how I did it. It didn't fit what I wanted to do.

So I just committed to the full colors and shading because, while yes it's time-consuming and a lot harder, it's also the only thing I know works for me.

Ur so sweet n kind 🥹 I really like character study’s or I guess concept art and I’m usually pretty decent at drawing realism art n anything from a reference photo so usually I try and draw with that kinda style in mind unless I suddenly want to change it up a bit and just redraw something completely which I’ve done with some Hazbin art but I always feel like it doesn’t look right or that I’m trying too hard so I eventually stop.

Both of them are like mid 20ies methinks But Etho looks much younger because of his style (i had to take the opportunity to put eefo in alt clothes. im not sorry) And as the note in art said, Bdubs is basically a plant mom– Bonus points if Etho turned out to be older than Bdubs after Bdubs would call him a kid. I- I see this happening. Etho when he shows up in caffe for the first time he just finds the most quiet and hidden corner and sits there. As much as he loves black coffee it’s actually not the first one he orders! He asks Bdubs for a recommendation, he mentions he likes black coffee but is like. y'know i haven't been here before i might as well try something you have to offer… Bdubs gayass brain is already turned on because. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GUY! THE GUY IN FRONT OF HIM! HOLY SHIT HE'S SO PRETTY WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! Bdubs is glad Etho didn’t give him exact order because he would fuck it up v badly. 

So he goes to prepare the coffee, but first; he almost starts screaming. He's flushed. His face is literally a tomato.  Ren looks at him and acts surprised like it has never happened before…….. But then Bdubs realizes he forgot to ask him for a name to put on his cup. Well fuck- (BONUS POINTS IF HE WROTE “emo boy :)” THERE..... IT’D BE SO FUCKING FUNNY..............) He draws a little butterfly :) He likes butterflies :) Etho doesn’t have to know it yet :)

But hey after all Etho did enjoy his coffee! And he even showed up another day again! Win for Bdubs’ gay ass !!!1 And that time he actually asked for the name just to misspell it immediately  yes he wrote “eefo” .. 

So yeah Etho was showing up like every two days or so- Bdubs kept misspelling his name but Etho figured that after a while he was doing it just to annoy him.

Etho’s revenge for misspelling his name was to order the most insane coffee in the world. Bdubs had to write it down because he knew there was no way for him to remember this shit. And afterwards he wrote Epoo on the cup:)

ive always been proud of my colors, but in the past (like idk 7 years ago) i had a weird limited approach to things. i figured out the trick of like,, taking something whose base color is pink and shading with purple. and then that was all i would do, because it pretty consistently made stuff that was pleasing to look at

and i developed a bit on that sorta style for years until my spamton era happened. i started using mspaint a TON and it radically changed my approach to coloring. having to both go into a seperate menu to select colors AND having the black/white slider be required to color pick Made it so that i had to experiment a lot more. mess around, maybe try a lower saturation. and after a while i started getting obsessed with grey tones.

my old old art was all super colorful, but in a sorta predictable way. its nice but didnt leave much of an impression

but in like my current era i use a lot of toned down colors. desaturated, greyish in betweens, playing with warm greys v cool greys, actually appreciating complementary colors

butyeah thats all to say. uh. i like colors a lot and i think about them alot

there r always new ways to approach coloring something and u can make some crazy stuff

ill admit that i feel like alot of my doodles n stuff look a little samey atm. u can tell what colors i default to when im feelin lazy lmao (cream, teal, green, warm pink, etc. all desaturated of course) but then again i havent been drawing much lately, the sample size isnt super big

i wanna make more shit i just never have the ideas or motivation.. i jsut end up doodling fish furries lol
