Chapter Three

In which it's time for some good old Ashenivir angst, and the romance part of this erotic romance starts to earn its keep.

The air smelt different. Brighter? Fresher? A cool breeze brushed Ashenivir’s skin, a shiver catching him by surprise. “Surface in five!” Master Do’tyl announced. “The shrine’s making ready for us—there’ll be hot food and plenty of wine tonight!” A cheer erupted down the entire length of the caravan, the loudest it had been since they’d left Mythen Thaelas. Ashenivir’s spine prickled with anticipation, his stomach awash with nerves. The surface! In no time at all he’d be up on the skin of the world, with nothing above him but endless sky. “Here,” Rizeth said, depositing a bundle of heavy fabric into his arms. “It is autumn on the surface; it will be colder than you are used to.” It was a cloak, of similar kind to the one he’d replaced his own piwafwi with the day before. Ashenivir didn’t have a piwafwi to swap out, or any cloak at all—he hadn’t even remembered to bring the one Keszriin had gifted him at graduation, a fact he’d kicked himself for not long after they’d left. The wool he now wrapped around his shoulders was twice as warm as that one, though, and much more practical. He fingered the soft grey fur at his neck. Autumn. The surface changed, didn’t it, as the year rolled by; cold and heat in a regular cycle, wind and rain, mist and snow, thunder and lightning and— “I take it you are excited.” Rizeth’s voice held the subtle cadence of amusement that warmed Ashenivir without need for a fine fur-collared cloak. “It can’t all be true, can it? All the things I’ve read?” “Certainly not all the things you have read,” Rizeth said. “But you will see for yourself soon enough.”

I went to another speedcubing competition today.

I choked 4x4, which was the event I had practiced the most and was looking forward to the most, so that was a disappointment.

Pyraminx was a sub-par performance, but that was to be expected considering that I didn't practice at all.

I set a new pr single and avg for both 3x3 and 2x2 though, so that was nice.

I didn't compete in any other events.

andrea〝andy〞pearson  :  the  younger  sibling  of  staci  pearson,  of  who  they  still  look  up  to  and  adore.  sound  tech  &  boom  mic  operator  of  the  ＂who  swings  the  hatchet  now＂  podcast.  doomed  by  klutziness  and  cursed  by  murphy’s  law,  they  have  an  unfortunate  habit  of  accidentally  dropping  the  boom  mic,  mostly  on  people’s  heads  (  and  because  misery  loves  company,  the  mic  seems  to  only  ever  fall  on  cassie  hughes’  head,  who  andy  may  or  may  not  have  the  worlds  biggest  crush  on )  which  has  resulted  in  many〝andy  pearson  dropping  the  boom  mic  on  people’s ( mostly cassie’s ) heads  for  [blank]  minutes〞compilation  videos  on  youtube.

alright, I'm gonna have my first real post on this blog be a proposal for a Sands of Yogurca arc rewrite; the main things being

There is no underground crime syndicate and Plain Yogurt isn't as huge of a fucking shitass

Lilac and Scorpion are a couple of orphan best friends turned petty thieves who would secretly hitch rides on caravans to get around. Lilac takes a more "don't get caught" approach while Scorpion actively enjoys leeching the life out of cookies and finds any excuse to do so, to Lilac's chagrin.

Maybe Centipede can be repurposed as a sassy shop owner and I frankly don't know what to do with Peppercorn. Maybe a construction worker of sorts, those two aren't really my focus tho

Instead of Plain Yogurt trying to kill his little brother, he's just verbally abusive like a normal person. Maybe Lilac and Scorpion were attracted to Yogurt Cream's palace because of the parties he throws and they were able to sneak in, their objective to snag some valuables and food and get out.

However, Lilac manages to bump into Yogi, and because of his naivity and loneliness, he strikes up a conversation with the strange cookie he's never seen before. Lilac feels a need to play along as to not get caught and Scorpion isn't around to help him out of the situation. After a fairly long night of humoring Yogi, Lilac finds himself drawn to his dumb ass and ends up leaving without actually taking anything. Scorpion notices that he's more reluctant to jump ship to the next town than normal.

One night, she's able to follow him as he sneaks out of their camp, thinking Scorpion was asleep. After finding out that he's been meeting up with Yogi, she sets out to get him killed and get her old friend back. Cue shenanigans
