This post is to pin and keep my series of Zelda fanfiction easily accessible.

The Aurum Flow is a series of stories that lay behind the scenes of many adventures throughout the Zelda franchise. Often do they set the stage for future events, but there will be some that follow up on tales that have already concluded. All of them feature OCs of my own making, sometimes with canon characters thrown into the mix.

Story I - The Hero of Spirits

(standalone entry) This is a prequel to Spirit Tracks that tells of how Malladus was first sealed; the story of the very first Hero of Spirits. This was my first fanfiction, written when I was 15 and updated over the years.

Story II - Ride the Winds!

(standalone entry) This is a prequel to Wind Waker, taking place roughly fifty years before Link sets out on his journey. A voyager from a cold, faraway land attempts to return home, and ends up dragging things into to place for the Hero's eventual return.

Story III - Spirits, Winds, and Time

(preceded by I and II) This is a crossover of The Hero of Spirits and Ride the Winds!, and it ended up becoming the genesis of the Aurum Flow series. This is set one hundred years before Ocarina of Time, featuring an all-seeing oracle prince who wishes to prevent the flow of time from unraveling.

Story IV - The Concerto of Spirits

(preceded by I) This is another prequel to the Spirit Tracks game, and it is a direct sequel to The Hero of Spirits, wrangling the events of that sandbox story into a more canon-compliant telling of how Link and Tetra founded New Hyrule.

Story V - Age of Prosperity;Mémoire

(standalone entry) This story assumes knowledge of my past works, but I intend for it to be standalone so you wouldn't necessarily have to read the others to enjoy it. This is set after the events of Age of Calamity, following a lost Lokomo's quest to uncover his past and his memories as he fights to protect those who can't come back to life like he can.

drum me, stupid! synopsis: a story about a college student enjoying her life in school perfectly fine, until one of her friends drags the group along to watch their school's band perform. little did she know that day would be marked as the day her whole world turned upside down because of a particular, nonchalant, and difficult drummer boy. a drummer boy who spilled his entire drink on her brand new outfit at a party and never came back.

genre: college au, social media au (some chapters will be written though!), music band au, slight enemies to lovers, unrequited love (for a bit), whole bunch of fluff, angst, mutual pining, silly humor

warnings: explicit language, college partying, alcohol consumption, A LOT of banter between characters including sexual/kys/death jokes of the sort, reader's kind of an ass (in the beginning), jisung ends up being a lover boy once the "nonchalant" wears off, yeonjun flirts like 24/7, overwhelming feelings that the characters can't handle

24 25 Favourite Screenshots of 2024 (Part One)

Only two parts, nothing major, but I got as far as New Year's Day in game, counted 50 total, and decided to do two posts. Above, (1) young Heather meets Sophie the Snail in her Henford hometown without her front tooth, and (2) Heather was the photographer for this adorable shot of her parents, expecting her sister Hazel and cuddling at the Finchwick Fair.

(3) The save's first tragic death was Eliza Pancakes, mother of three and wife of Bob, and I love this picture of them for the starry sky alone, honestly.

(4) Master botanist Daisy with one of many oversized crops she grew in her garden over the years.

(5) Loved this shot of Daisy taking off in a rocket at GeekCon so much I used it to represent her changing careers to full-time astrobotanist with the Sims Aeronautical Space Agency (SpaceY).

(6) Golden hour in Henford in springtime.

(7) Uptown San Myshuno and the San Myshuno Bridge.

(8) Winter in Henford-on-Bagley, with pink sunsets in the sky and wild fox Pawbin Hood in his Sherwood Forest getup in the foreground.

(9) Mortimer Goth married his soulmate, Karl Nesbitt, at their penthouse in San Myshuno. Their guests arrived and had to comply with a new ordinance declaring 'We Wear Bags!' much to my disdain.

But I look back now and consider it one of the more iconic screenshots of the series so far.

(10) Heather checks out the view from Malcolm Landgraab's penthouse in San Myshuno while balancing a plate of midnight French Toast.

(11) The ferry dock from Cavalier Cove to Deadgrass Isle on an overcast day in Brindleton Bay.

(12) A pink sunset backdrop added perfection to this shot of romantic Holly Nesbitt dropping her new hubby, Kris Bell, for a passionate first kiss (totally autonomously).

(13) A wild love interest and his perfect dog appear from the Gallery and enter the game, and everyone rejoices. Especially Heather!

(14) Malcolm Landgraab finally steps up and takes an interest in his son while tired working mom Heather naps in her living room.

It's hard to remember this house before I added the stairs and the second floor, but there it is!

(15) Even with the clipping and the shabby apartment decor, I love this pose. Just feels like they're truly hungering for each other and that was my goal!

(16) I think the lighting is great, but something about seeing Everett so content and proud inside a Gallery build made me love this one even more!

(17) This one's the banner on my tumblr page. It's Heather's house with the second story addition from across Sable Square and the fall colours really do it.

(18) Conrad takes Gord to work with the magic of MCCC and the brilliance of deardiaryts4 💖

(19) Conrad comforting a guilt-stricken Heather after Ash's near-death accident/mod vs update glitch. I just love them.

(20) Alexander Goth nonchalantly walks in on Heather channeling spirits on his mother Bella's seance table, while Conrad worries like mad about his soulmate.

(21) Toddler Ash cuddling one of Queen Cupcake's kittens (who were soon rehomed because five cats was so many. I couldn't keep it up!) Also, King Tut's ghost makes an appearance by the patio door.

(22) Teenage Conrad posing with his parents near the midway in Copperdale - the last trip the Gordons took before his mother's death.

(23) Gord smells the Grim Reaper before Heather and Conrad, who called him on a Grimophone borrowed from Bella Goth, realize he's there.

I've always loved watching him wander up to people unprompted because he's a friendly dog, but sensing the Reaper was a whole new level of amazing.

(24) This Spooky Day photo of Ash with his dad, Malcolm, and stepmom, Miko, was too cute not to include.

Bonus (25) Heather learned she was expecting again after a miscarriage and I love the ultrasound machine cc.

To say a big THANKS for supporting my fic throughout the year(s), I’m doing the Advent Calendar Fic thingamy again!  I did this last year and it became this collection of stories.

From 1 - 25 December 2024 I will be posting a short story (it will be short, I will control myself) as part of a new collection of works from Driftersverse, Making Mirrors, Interstellar Overdrive and Legend of Charro.

Beneath the cut I have a little information about the story to be written each day (universe, characters and date/era).  I’d like to dedicate each to a reader, so please claim one and I’ll write it for you.

I don’t think all days will fill up, but I’d like to give everyone a chance to get one they really like, so at this stage each person can claim ONE day only - I’ll open it up to more later on. You’re welcome to send me a few in order of preference in case someone has already beaten you to the punch on your favourite, and I haven’t yet updated the list.

How I Play Generations in The Sims 1: A Full Review 📕

Edit: I'm adding the link to my old post, which includes the mods I use. And an updated version of the calendar here (Independence Day is now on day 30.)

Lifespan Progression:

Babies have a specific birthdate marked on the calendar on the day they’re born.

Children age up to adults on their birthdate (this can take up to 5 weeks).

Adults live for 10 weeks (2 months).

To track the days in the game, I use the calendar mod and a custom calendar image for manually tracking birthdays and holidays. I'll tell more about the holidays later.

Birth and Death Dates:

When a baby is born, I note their birthdate on the family calendar. Their birthdate is also their death date, marking the end of their lifespan.

Once a child ages up to an adult, their next birthday becomes their death date, giving them 10 weeks to live.

For Sims created in CAS and townies, I randomize their death dates.

Here’s an example with one family: Leland and his wife, Oliviana, moved in during Week 3, Day 17. I rolled a die from 1 to 30 to determine their death dates:

Leland: Day 24

Oliviana: Day 18

This means they live past the standard 10-week lifespan, which works well for storytelling. Leland has a backstory of relying on his family due to a medical condition. Since Oliviana will pass first, Leland's children might need to stay with him a bit longer.

Their children, Han and Benji, also have randomized birthdays:

Han: Day 10 (birthday in Week 5)

Benji: Day 19 (a week later)

This gives their parents a chance to spend time with them and, if lucky, meet their grandchildren.

Biographies:

Biographies are essential to each Sim's identity. These can be short or long, as long as they reflect something about them. Interests can inspire story elements, for example, a Sim interested in "Hollywood" or "Romance" may avoid marriage, while one interested in "Money" might be interested in crime. A child's transition to adulthood with random appearance can help shape their story as well!

Rotation Gameplay:

I play each family for 7 days before switching. If there's an event (holiday, birthday, wedding), I stay with the family until the event is over.

Manual Calendar:

To track birthdays and holidays manually, I created a custom calendar that matches the mod weekends. Each holiday falls on a different weekend day to keep things fresh without being overwhelming.

Independence Day: Either a summer vacation or a fun day at home.

Halloween: Host a party or visit Magic Town.

Christmas: Celebrate for two days with a vacation or at home.

Love Day: A day for a romantic date, or a chance for singles to meet someone new.

Moving Out: There are currently 4 options for an adult to move out.

Inheriting the parents house and living with them.

Moving out with the whole family to a multifamily house.

Parent(s)/siblings leaving the house and the neighborhood, using Shaklin's mod. But the price is losing all contact with them and not seeing them again.

If a Sim has a friend or partner who lives in the neighborhood, and I want them to live together, I will control that sim for the move-in interaction.

Family Tree:

I track each playable household’s family tree using Family Echo, a website that lets me add all necessary information. This is great for storytelling; for example, I could add an “unknown woman” as a past wife for a widowed Sim, even if she wasn’t in the game.

Babies:

I haven't found the exact odds of the chance card for having a baby, but it doesn't happen often. So when the option appears, I usually pick yes. If a baby wasn't part of the plan based on the family's story, house, or size, I use this method:

First, I generate a number between 10 and 50. This result becomes the chance of keeping the baby.

Next, I generate a number between 1 and 100. If this second number is equal to or less than the first, the pregnancy is successful. If it's higher, they are not keeping the baby.

Here's an example to clarify:

I generate a number between 10 and 50. Let's say I got 37. That means there is 37% that we will keep the baby. I then generate a second number between 1 and 100. The number is 89. Since 89 is greater than 37, we do not keep the baby.

Last But Not Least - Weeks Tracking: When I play with a family, I keep track of which week of the month they’re in and how many days remain until each Sim’s next birthday or death date. I also mark the last day I played with them, so I know where to pick up in the next rotation.

I didn't want to add additional rules that depend on interests, careers or money, as it can make the gameplay a bit complicated. I use their interests and personality for storytelling at times. And matching their career accordingly. When a family have to move out, I use the money cheat and see it as an inheritance. If one sim is famous, I will give them a sum of money. But no more than once. And when it comes to relationships, the sim they get along with the most will be their partner. But it can be flexible for interesting twists and stories.

Spaceship Short Stories

Yeah why not. Title is self-explanatory. I'll be bringing back my aborted plan for a spaceship story in favour of this because I want to. Also, I will be changing and retconning past work in this as I go. Don't expect anything to stay the same.

Intro.

This is the official logbook of the Vchern'ixt, or Merchant and Delivery Ship 382. (382-MDS). We are, as our work tag suggests, an interplanetary merchant ship. This logbook will almost certainly be used by the crew, and knowing my crew, will not be taken seriously. I can only hope it will provide actual information, and I will hopefully find the time to add actual updates between the crew entries.

Entry 1: 218-4-7 (Kaylie - Pilot)

First week on the ship! Not much happened this week, few deliveries, some unnecessarily (but fun) dangerous asteroid-dodging. I think everyone else is still getting used to a human in board, they're fairly cautious around me. To be honest, I would be as well! I think their previous pilot was a lot more cautious than me. They've been watching me, though. Curious but cautious. I've tried to make some friends, be nice to people, but it's kinda hard when everyone half expects you to explode at any moment.

Truly, the worst part is that they don't have coffee here. I'll make sure to fix that with the first paycheck I get, Captain said that "you can spend your own money on your comforts. I'll spend the ship's money on the ship." So they're no help. Anyways, paycheck is in two days, and we dock for supplies at Kerroi-825B in... Whenever our orbits get close, so I'll be able to get my coffee then! For now, I'll live with the mimicry that Grömerg makes.

Entry 2: 218-4-10 (Grömerg - Medic, Chef)

My coffee is not bad, is it? I do not know if the taste is as it should be, though it smells like the sample you gave me. I'm sorry if it is [untranslatable]

Translator suggestions: Subpar, worse than typical, less than.

Entry 3: 218-4-12 (Kaylie)

It's not! I just prefer real coffee over synthetic, not a problem with you at all!

Update: finally got my coffee machine! And I remembered to buy coffee beans this time! It didn't take as long as I thought to find the "Human Items" section of Kerroirå Market (Fun fact: that's "Kerroi Market Market in Tychfing), and I was able to grab my coffee making items (coffee ingredients?) In time to not be left behind by the crew! Yay!

In other news, I was able to pick up a roll of duct tape and a knife for our beloved cleaning robot. Now I just have to fit Stabby with a camera to record everyone else's reactions to him. He is now one with the hivemind of Stabbies. Oh, and I grabbed the stuff I was actually supposed to. The boring stuff. It was heavy, but some people helped me load the boxes into the ship!

Entry 4: Galactic Year 218, Standard Lunar Cycle (SLC) 4, Standard Solar Cycle (SSC) 14 [218-4-14] (Ky'tchas - Secretary, Accountant)

Kaylie, what is your new creation for? It has caused several minor injuries, and I don't understand the purpose of the "laugh track." Or the confetti. Why do these only occur when it stabs someone? Are they incentive for violence?

Additionally, I will include the "boring stuff," or our pickup for the next delivery. We have picked up:

14 Planetary Leap Drives, 10 Warp Cores, 2 Wormhole Accessors, 24 Guard-8.6 Androids, 48 Holo-Screen 18.5s, and 36 Extragravitory Flight Suits.

These are important things to record. Kaylie, as the one who ordered some of the parts, you should be the one to relay them to me. As it is, you should have placed the order through me in the first place, since it is my job to place orders and file them.

You're new, so I assume you haven't heard anyone explicitly state this, though the captain should have during your viewing and explanation of the ship. Either way, I expect any further orders to be placed though me.

Entry 5: 218-4-18 (Grömerg)

Kaylie? Is it alright if I make a request of you? Please, I beg, slow down when flying. The food almost did not survive our last warp-jump.

Additionally, Ky'tchas, there is no need to write out the full date. The human knows Standard Time, she is just... odd. I believe she is still on Solar Time, as she will not answer with any other time. She logs days in Standard Time, though, which makes me believe she knows it.

Entry 6: 218-4-19 (Ky'tchas)

Very well, Grömerg. Kaylie, heed Grömerg's advice. Slow down, and fly with less reckless abandon. I had to restart my calculations of profit due to a sharp turn you took around an asteroid. Be more careful, so that you do not disturb your new crew. This is your final warning.

Alright, okay... But dodging asterioids and racing the planets is what makes ship-driving fun! It's just boring if you avoid the asterioid fields and aren't on the edge of burning out your engines.

But okay... if everyone says so, I'll be more careful. Sorry guys! And Grömerg, the food was still great! Also, I'm on Standard, I just... Don't know how to change my watch from Solar...

It's really complicated, okay? I tried, and got stuck on Giryilan Time for... I'm not entirely sure how long in Standard, but it was a long time! Everyone looked at me like I was crazy.

First Nights at Freddy's - Movie Soundtrack/Score in Order

Because I am a nerd and wanted to figure out for myself which songs appeared where, I have gone through and made a playlist of First Nights at Freddy's that combines the score and the soundtrack, and puts them in the order they appear. The playlist length seems excessive because some songs have only a portion played (e.g. "Hey-O!" is over a minute, but is only seen in the film for seven seconds; the track "Hiccups" includes the intro it had when it was in the individual "Web of Lies" video during the "Previously on..." bit, but that's absent here, etc), but as near as I can tell from listening while going through things, this is what I've come up with.

This does not include songs released on the soundtrack that do not seem to actually be in the movie, just because that's not what this playlist is for. (And I'm hoping I didn't just totally miss all of them being in here somehow??? I would feel very silly if I spent so long on this and then was just oblivious to a whole seven songs.)

One Month: Trapped - @sailorsilverladybug

I am going to start with a disclaimer: there are a lot of stranded on an island stories between AO3 and FFN, and one of the themes that runs through is non-consensual intimacy. This particular story is not an exception, but what sets this one apart, and the reason why I included it on the list, is because there is a lot of discussion about consequences and legitimising of feelings for those impacted by the choices of others. Please make sure to check the tags and read the author's note before starting. 

Motoki and (some of) the girls decide that to stop Usagi and Mamoru from arguing they need to kidnap them and leave them on a deserted island for a month to get over their hostility for the good of the world (at least that’s Rei and Minako’s reasoning).

Intentionally Trapped - @ninjettetwitch

After having an absolutely horrible day at work, Mamoru decides to still go to Minako’s party only to blow up at Usagi because of his bad mood. Leading a very stern chat in a stopped elevator followed by a steamy make-up. 

Game Night - @riverlethe

Minako decides that they deserve a night off and best way to have fun is a game “night” at the arcade, where an increasing number of participants eventually includes Mamoru. Running out of games to play, Unazuki eventually suggests “7 Minutes in Heaven”. 

11 Hours - @floraone

This story is based around a study which postulated that with a specific set of questions and at least 4 hours together, two people can start falling in love. In this multi-chapter, our protagonists get stuck in an elevator, discovering things about their past, likes and dislikes, working through social anxiety and preconceived notions.

Title: Struggle of the Caged Bird

Status: Updating, duh. It's my favorite.

Introduction/Story summary:

Randy was adopted by Norisu Clan eight years ago, and trained as a ninja like he always dreamed when he was a kid. However, he did not understand why he couldn't go out like the other ninja students, and why he kept dreaming about a pair of red eyes that made him dizzy. Just what are Master Nomi and First hiding from him?

Or: Randy is Tengu, First is a Dragon, Theresa is a Carpfish yokai. Nomi isn't quite righteous when it comes to a bird demon. Sorcerer just want power. The conflict between Sorcerer and Ninja entwined with the conflict between Tengu and Norisu. As the truth surfaced, what's right? Which side is justice? Does it matter anymore?

(This au will be really out of character. Don't like, don't read!)

Forewarning:

1)This story is probably so original that it almost have nothing to do with the canon. Only some details or settings have references.

2)No one is completely good or evil, except for the Sorcerer, he's all villain. (I'm even confusing myself with the idea. One of the reasons why it's my favorite au)

3)I have a vague routine of how the story will go, but it's constantly changing and new stuffs keep coming up. Hopefully I'll make it good till the end.

Something about this au:

I'm obsessed with the idea of Norisu having a dark past. I mean, ninjas aren't always heroes like in the show. They are more like assassins in Japanese history.

Seriously? A bird demon's feathers were used to make ninja suit. Carpfish elements appeared here and there in the show. The Pearl of Chaos's true origins remain vague. A bunch of forbidden knowledges of "The Shadow Warrior" were never showed...

There are also many fanarts and fanfics exploring this idea. My AU inspiration came from some of them, to be honest.

I tried a new style of comic. This story will show in different points of view. When the character's area on the panel lights up, it means this part is his or her point of view, and only show what the character saw, heard, thought or felt.(If not, it means I forgot, haha)
