Blood. So much blood. She could feel as it trickled down her arms, warm against her cold skin.

The rope rubbed into her wrists painfully.

A gag in her mouth that made her panic.

She twisted, tried her hardest to get out, but it wouldn’t budge.

Thump-thump, thump-thump, her heart raced in her chest, panic crawled out from inside her ribs, up into her esophagus, out of her mouth until she screamed—

Her eyes snapped open and she jumped, hands splayed out beneath her to quickly shove herself to sit up, thump-thump, thump-thump-

“Hey, hey, you’re okay.” Sam’s voice broke through the panic and her eyes quickly snapped to him, shirtless and sleepy in the bed beside her.

In the bed.

She’d been dreaming.

Her breath shuddered as she inhaled and shifted a little, pressed her back against the headboard behind her as she forced herself to recognise her surroundings; Sam — who grounded her the most out of anything, the same four walls of their bedroom, the same clothes hung over the desk chair, his boots by the door, her books on the dresser. She’d had nightmares for so long — it was only natural given their way of life. She’d developed a way to deal with them over the years.

“Hey,” Sam’s hand was warm as he touched her shoulder, and she looked back up at him, his hair tousled from sleep, eyes ever so soft. Sometimes she didn't think she deserved him. “Are you okay?”

One of her hands moved up and took his, laced their fingers until all of their knuckles were kissing, and only then was it easier for her to breathe. “Yeah,” she sighed, smiled slightly. “M’okay, sorry.”

���No, hey,” Sam frowned a little and shifted closer, his free hand lifted to cup her cheek. “Don’t apologise. Sure you’re okay?”

She nodded, leaned into his palm. His skin was so warm that it felt heavenly. “S’nothing I haven’t dealt with before.”

He still looked worried, that little crease between his eyebrows hadn’t left his features, but Sam nodded anyways. He leaned forwards and closed the distance, and the soft press of his lips against hers cured any leftover anxieties from her nightmare.

The kiss transitioned from a soft press to a loving neediness, Sam had one of her lips between his own, his hands splayed on her waist, and like muscle memory she climbed into his lap so she could be closer. His hands were gentle, his breath warm as it fanned out over her face, and when she pulled back to look at him it—

It was nine o’clock.

Her eyes had caught the digital alarm clock beside the bed and her eyes widened a little, a surge of panic within her as her hands slipped from his cheeks to rest on his chest. “Shit, Sammy it’s nine.”

“Yeah?”

She frowned at him. “We should’ve been up ages ago, aren’t we working a case today?”

Sam frowned at her, took a breath, before he murmured softly, “Are you sure you’re okay, sweetheart?”

“What?” She just blinked, confused.

“You said we’re going on a case.”

“Yeah?”

Sam’s frown only deepened. “Baby, we haven’t been on a case in months.”

She just stared at him for a moment. Her eyes flickered over his expression, caught no sign that he was trying to mess with her. It was almost like he was serious.

But he couldn’t have been. Just last night they’d been talking about working a case in Indiana, that’s where they were supposed to be heading. They’d been working back-to-back cases for weeks, now. She was exhausted from them.

“What are you talking about?” She shook her head. “Just last night we… we’re going to Indiana today, Sam.”

Sam sat up completely and rubbed his palm over her back. “That dream really messed you up, huh?”

She scowled. “I’m being serious.”

Immediately he softened, apologetic to the core as he stroked her back again. “I know- I know, I’m sorry, sweetheart, it’s just… we really haven’t been on a case in weeks. The only thing we have planned today is going to catch that movie with Dean and Cas, remember?”

They had never gone to see a movie together, not in a proper cinema. Movie nights were slotted in at the bunker whenever they had time. “No, we have a case.”

He looked so concerned she almost felt bad. But she was so confused, they definitely hadn’t so much as stopped hunting for two days, let alone for months. What was he talking about?

“Okay…” Sam nodded slowly, though he clearly didn’t believe her. “Okay. Why don’t we go get you something to drink, okay?” It was clear he still thought it was the nightmare messing with her, and though she knew it wasn’t, she just nodded and let Sam guide the two of them out of bed. There was no point sitting there and arguing about it, he clearly didn’t believe her and she knew he wasn’t right.

She pulled on some pyjama pants whilst Sam tugged on a shirt, and with his hand against her lower back — she could practically feel the worry that vibrated beneath his skin — they walked through the bunker to the kitchen.

Her head was almost spinning. It was just so… strange. If Dean was the one telling her all this she would’ve known he was just messing with her, but Sam? The whole time they’d dated he’d never done something like this, and to be honest, he really wasn’t that good of an actor, anyways.

She didn’t know what was going on, but she knew that she was right.

They walked into the kitchen together, but half a step through the doorway she froze — Dean and Cas were sat at the table together, making out.

“Oh my god!” Her hand covered her mouth as she stood there in shock — because never in a million years had she thought that either of them would confess to each other — and her sounded surprise jolted the two of them out of it, their heads turned to look at her and Sam.

“Really, guys? We all have to eat there.” Sam grumbled as he walked to get a glass to fill with water.

Cas looked apologetic whilst Dean just smirked. “So?”

She was still just stood in the doorway, eyes wide, when Dean finally looked at her.

“What? Were you enjoying the show?”

“I- what? How long has this been a thing?” She blurted out, and Dean just stared at her.

“Huh?”

Sam stepped away from the counter when she’d asked her question, and that frown was back on his face again. “Sweetheart, they’ve been dating for a month,” his words were laced with worry, worry for her. “Are you feeling okay? Why don’t you sit down-”

“What are you talking about?” Her eyes flickered between the three men, and it felt like she was being gaslight. If it wasn’t for the genuine concern in Sam’s eyes, she would’ve thought that was what was happening. “They’ve not been together for a month.”

“A month and four days.” Cas told her.

“No you haven’t!” She was shouting now, because she just- she didn’t understand. It was scaring her.

Thump-thump, thump-thump.

“Baby, please sit down.” Sam murmured, tried to guide her to sit, as the other two men stood from the table.

“What’s going on?” Dean asked, his concern matched Sam’s, and she was so close to just ripping her hair out in frustration.

“This,” she gestured between them all. “Whatever this is, you’re all lying, okay? We worked a hunt yesterday, and you two,” she pointed to Dean and Cas who were holding hands, “are not dating!”

Thump-thump, thump-thump, the drumming was in her ears, she felt too worked up.

Castiel let go of Dean’s hand and stepped forwards. “Y/N, have you had a fall recently? Could you have possibly hit your head?”

Immediately she felt angry. “I’m not crazy-”

“I’m not calling you crazy,” Cas immediately assured her, and as she glanced between the three men she hated the way they were all looking at her, like she was some kind of sick dog. “It just seems like you’re presenting symptoms of memory loss, which could be the result of a head injury.”

She blinked, took a few shaky breaths. “I’m fine-”

“Baby, you fell getting out of the shower yesterday,” Sam sounded so pained it made her heart throb. He was so serious, the look in his eyes, she’d seen it hundreds of times before, at the occasion of one of her hundreds of injuries. “I got you painkillers and everything.”

Thump-thump, thump-thump, she felt like her heart was about to burst out of her ribs. Was she really…?

“May I?” Her eyes snapped back to Cas as he stepped forwards, lifted a hand, and she hesitated before she nodded. If anybody was going to squeeze the truth out of the situation, it would be Cas.

He stopped in front of her and lifted up his hands, and with the upmost gentleness he pressed the tips of his fingers against her temples. She watched as his eyes flashed blue, and it felt like her head had been dipped in ice water as his grace wormed through her head. He was so concentrated, lips set in a hard line, eyebrows scrunched downwards. She’d watched him do this so many times to others, but it hadn’t happened all that often to herself.

When Cas pulled back and his eyes were back to their usual shade of blue, he frowned. “It’s memory loss.” He murmured, and it felt like everything had started tipping.

Thump-thump, thump-thump, blood rushed in her ears as she took a shuddering breath, and Sam’s hand caught her elbow before she toppled backwards into the wall.

“Okay okay, easy, sweetheart,” Sam gripped her elbow a little tighter, and guided her over to the bench, sat her down with ease. “It’s okay, it’ll be okay-”

“Memory loss,” the words that came out of her mouth were mortified, she sounded almost scared. “I can’t-”

“Take a moment, take a breather.” Dean chimed in, and when she looked up all three of them were stood over her. If not for the situation it would’ve been a bit funny.

Sam had said they hadn’t been hunting in months, so she’d lost, what, at least three months?

Thump-thump, thump-thump.

“Cas, can you do anything?” Sam had turned to the angel, and she hated how panicked he sounded.

Thump-thump, thump-thump.

Castiel took a breath. “It’s not like a physical injury, it’s mental, it’s in her head, I’m not sure I can-”

Thump-thump, thump-thump, thump-thump—

Her vision had blacked out a little by the time she tipped forwards and fell off of the bench, folded like wet paper, like she physically couldn’t hold herself up. Through the fuzz in her head, she heard them call her name, felt hands on her arms, on her face. She’d blacked out a few times before, the feeling wasn’t foreign.

When her eyes finally opened again, it was dark.

“Y/N? Hey- hey- Sam she’s awake!” She was just able to make out Dean’s face in the dark.

When most of the fuzz in her head had subsided, the first thing she noticed was that she wasn’t on the floor, she was upright. The second thing she noticed was that her wrists really hurt.

Thump-thump, thump-thump, her heart was racing in her chest, in her ears, she could feel it in her wrists, a horrible throbbing that almost left her disoriented.

Her head tipped back a little unsteady, eyes up, and she quickly realised that her arms were yanked up above her head, rope dug painfully in her wrists which kept them there, her feet weren’t even on the floor.

Her head lulled forwards again, it felt so heavy, she was barely able to keep her eyes open. She tried to speak, but the third thing she realised was that something was in her mouth — a gag.

“Fuck- here, hang on,” Dean reached up and around her head, untied the fabric until he pulled it out of her mouth. “There you go.”

She inhaled shakily, eyelids fluttered. “What…”

“Sweetheart?” Hands cupped her face, and she didn’t need to look to know that this time it was Sam. “Oh god- Dean cut her down, I’ve got her.”

The hands moved to her waist, and after a moment the strain on her arms was snapped and she all but fell into waiting arms. Her body felt so weighed down and sore, she couldn’t protest as she was shifted and guided to rest on the floor.

“Y/N?” Warm hands were back on her cheeks. “Hey, can you look at me? C’mon baby, please-”

With far too much effort her eyelids fluttered again, and Sam was hovered over her, face scrunched in worry.

“Hey, there she is, we’ve got you,” his fingers stroked her cheek. “Are you with me?”

She forced herself to blink a few more times before she finally glanced around the room, and realised that they weren’t in the bunker — in fact, she had no idea where they were. The room was practically falling apart, old and dusty and broken. There was barely any light in the room, but she saw Dean stood over them worriedly, before her eyes flickered back to Sam.

“What… I don’t-” She felt so disoriented, it was scaring her.

“It’s okay, you’re okay,” he stroked her cheek again before he leaned in, and pressed his lips to her forehead. “Scared the life out of me.” He breathed into her skin.

When he pulled back, she looked down at herself, and the sheer amount of blood that had trickled down her arms made her feel nauseous. What the fuck?

Sam met her eyes, must’ve recognised the confusion, and his worried frown deepened into something more pitiful. “Djinn,” he told her softly. “Must’ve gotten to you when we split up. I’m so sorry, baby, I won’t let that happen again, okay?” Sam brushed his thumb along her cheekbone. “It’s dead. We killed it. You’re okay.”

Djinn. Of course. She’d always wondered what it would be like.

Only when Sam was certain that she was alright to move, both he and Dean helped her up and out of the building. None of them said much as they got to the car, Sam helped her into the backseat as Dean packed up the trunk, and then they were on the road.

Her arms were covered with dried blood, her wrists sore and bloodied, her mind reeling. That was her paradise?

They’d been in silence for a little while when Dean finally asked, “So what did you see?”

Her eyes flickered between the brothers. They were both bloodied and bruised, as was she. The car smelled like leather and gunpowder. Sam was messing with a switchblade in his lap. There a gun on the seat beside her. Nothing about it was peaceful.

She swallowed thickly, eyes shifted to look out of the window, and murmured softly, “We got out.”

Canon Destiel Timeline Masterpost

I wrote this all in a fugue state while listening to Green Grow the Lilacs on repeat so forgive any mistakes. @gay-fae ask and ye shall receive

So much has happened in the long and storied history of his fandom so I've decided to try to document it. I've started by looking up every time that canon destiel, destiel event, misha collins, jackles, or some other search terms have spiked on Google and cross referenced them with tumblr or twitter posts from that day. I know a lot of this is Misha stuff, but he does tend to be the one to say things

November 5th, 2020: Season 15, Episode 18 "Despair" airs and Castiel declares his love to Dean. The presidential election, Georgia turning blue, the presumed retirement of Vladamir Putin, Dabi from My Hero Academia, Ouran Host Club season 2, Sherlock season 5, the president of Bolivia being attacked with dynamite, ongoing BLM protests, a twitter artist making racist art of Ted Bundy, Hetalia returning, a dead man being elected Representative for North Dakota, V for Vendetta, scientists discovering a "hell" planet that rains rocks and has lava oceans, and half of Europe being in lockdown all became tumblr news around the same time. Some of these are true, some not.

November 8th, 2020: Misha Collins, in a panel with Richard Speight, states that the confession scene was a "declaration of homosexual love", and that when Castiel goes to the Empty, it is an example of the "Kill your gays" trope.

November 19th, 2020: The finale airs and it is not well loved to say the least. The episode is short, Dean dies by falling on a nail to death fighting vampire clowns, and there are several characters left with dangling unresolved plot threads and arcs, including Castiel. The car is in heaven though. There is very little heard from the cast and crew, if anything.

November 22nd, 2020: Misha Collins, in a livestream, tells a fan that Castiel and Jack are remaking heaven together, Cas has his wings back, and they are rainbow-colored. He had, however, mentioned the rainbow wings before.

November 24th, 2020: The Spanish dub of the confession is released and a "rogue" translator has written "Y yo a ti" or "I love you too" as Dean's response. Destiel goes canon in Spanish. Tumblr stops working as a result.

November 25th, 2020: tumblr user @thebloggerbloggerfun claims Jensen Ackles said "I had a member of the film crew record the confession scene on my phone for me" #unsourced #releasethetapes

November 26th, 2020: Misha doesn't appreciate the rogue translator, but walks that opinion back later the same day

November 27th, 2020: A "leaked" Italian dub of the confession scene shows a mutual confession.

November 28th, 2020: President Obama follows a destiel account on Twitter

November 30th, 2020: The supposed "Italian dub" is revealed as a fake created by user @iotiamo using sound clips from other parts of the Italian dub on show.

December 1st, 2020: Twitter user @mothdean says "misha I know you have a stan acc and spy on us so can we have a hazel update please"

December 3rd, 2020: Misha tweets about Hazel snoring and this is taken as possible confirmation of Misha's secret stan account

December 11th, 2020: A script from Cas's perspective leaks. It says "We see Cass's POV of Dean again - his face drawn, drained of hope. But still beautiful. Still Dean Winchester."

December 16th, 2020: Newsweek runs an article about an article that Misha wrote about the Lewinsky affair while interning in the Clinton White House in which Misha comes off as rather thirsty for Bill

December 20th, 2020: All Supernatural related materials disappear off the CW's website due to a copyright dispute with Warner Brothers

December 31st, 2020: Mishapocalypse redux

February 9th, 2021: Spn cast members Chad Lindberg and Samantha Ferris tweet about a party at the Roadhouse and it grows to become a full Destiel wedding

February 16th, 2021: @steveyockey made a fairly benign post about Jensen Ackles. The notes went wild in a variety of ways and started a rumor that Spn writer Steve Yockey was dead

February 20th, 2021: Steve Yockey is not dead and he should say it

March 3rd, 2021: The German dub drops and it is also romantic in tone

March 6-8th, 2021: A virtual con happens where Jensen discusses Chaos Machine and Jared says he wants to be in their next project. They also show that WAP video. Jensen is giving full mountain man preparing to play Soldier Boy.

March 10th, 2021: The French dub is released. Cas says, "I love you, Dean" and Dean now responds, "Don't do this to me, Castiel"

March 13th, 2021: The company Amazon tweets about Castiel and Misha Collins asks if they ship Deancas or Wincest. Subsequently apologizes.

March 16th, 2021: Misha says he can't speak as Castiel because Warner Brothers" specifically forbade it. #cwsniperconfirmed

March 17th, 2021: Sam and Eileen are getting married! I have no idea how this came about but I'm happy for them

March 23rd, 2021: Chad Lindberg and Samantha Ferris claim on Twitter that the Roadhouse party was about Valentine's day and not a wedding. Ferris specifically said that she worked on the show and that people tried to make Dean/Cas into "something that it wasn't", She also stated she doesn't "know what queerbaiting is" and that it was due to an "agenda". This led to #deanisbi trending on Twitter and Tumblr.

March 31st, 2021: Some possibly fake leaked scripts come up for sale on eBay. Also, Jensen is Batman.

April 1st, 2021: Mishapocalypse redux

April 6th, 2021: Leaked scripts from the 2 final episodes pop up and have several mentions of Cas in them that were omitted. Dean even thinks about Cas's confession when confronting Chuck.

April 18th, 2021: Scripts from seasons 12 and 13 leak. These include scenes from after Cas's death

May 17th, 2021: Jensen's band Radio Company releases an album including the song Watching Over Me

June ~5th, 2021: Misha says at a convention that Watching Over Me is about Castiel. Jensen neither confirms nor denies this when asked about it

June 11th, 2021: It is announced that Misha is publishing a book of poetry

June 18th, 2021: The Russian dub airs and Dean's line is changed to "Don't you dare, Cas"

June 24-28th, 2021: Jensen and Daneel Ackles reveal that they are making a Supernatural prequel series following John and Mary Winchester (a story that NOBODY was asking for). Jensen will reprise his role as Dean and will narrate. Misha hints that he would like to be involved, as do Ruthie Connell, Samantha Ferris, Matt Cohen, and Julie McNiven (the perils of having a cast of mostly immortal characters). But Jared Padalecki first says that he is happy for the Ackles's, he later said he was "gutted", then responded to Robbie Thompson's tweet calling him a "coward" and saying "what an awful thing you've done". The next day, Jensen and Jared both do damage control and say they'll always be brothers

July 17th, 2021: People are asking if Destiel will be canon in Space Jam, Misha's poetry book's cover is revealed to lukewarm reviews and people are talking about a particular poem about piss, and Perfume Genius releases an article that is a self-insert vore fanfiction about having sex with Jensen Ackles

What is a Bang?🤔😄

➡️ Never done a bang before but curious about joining in?

Here’s everything you need to know about what a bang is and how they work.

⭐️ Bangs are creative fandom events run by fans for fans, and they are based around a theme: a favourite character, pairing, setting or concept. So there is a bang that is for works all about Crowley, or works centred around wincest or destiel, works with a horror twist can include any spn character, or works in an historical setting, or works inspired by classic movies or song lyrics. The list goes on. There are many different flavours of bangs to choose from.

⭐️ There are 2 main types of bang. Regular and Reverse. In a regular Bang authors sign up to write a story around the advertised theme and they are given a deadline by which they must complete a good chunk of their story. Once the deadline arrives and they are about 80% completed writing (variable depending on the bang) authors submit a synopsis of their story to the bang moderators. This is an overview of the plot, any warnings and the story rating. All the story summaries are then displayed anonymously to the artists who signed up to the bang. It’s anonymous so that artists will choose a story just based on a plot or ideas that interest them, not on who the writer is. On Claims Day the artists submit a list of their top 3 (or 5 etc depending on the bang) choices. The moderators pair up the artists with an author on a first come first served basis, by order of their top choice. This process is repeated (and maybe opened to public claims from artists not already signed up to the bang) until every author in the bang has been assigned an artist who is interested in their story. After that the artist and the author pair are given a posting date and they work together to create art for the story. Some authors still have more writing to do and might take creative input from their artist as they start talking over what art is to be drawn for the story. Some authors are finished writing by claims and it’s more a case of giving the artist the draft and waiting for a picture. It’s up to individual pairs how much collaboration they want to do and how much back and forth they have. So if you are looking to make new friends this can be a great way to meet people but if you are more of an introvert that’s okay too, you can just write or draw and keep your partner advised of your progress. On posting day the author and the artist both post their works and links to their partners works. The bang moderators also post adverts for the works on the bang page.

➡️ The benefit of a bang for an author is that they get free art 😄. The artist might get collaborative input but it’s not guaranteed, but they do get to read a new story about a favourite topic before anyone else 😁. And both benefit from each partner advertising the others work come posting day. Plus the event organiser should also do extensive advertising for each artwork and fic submitted. Bangs often have followings of readers who enjoy the bang theme will check out several of the works from the event - so by being in a bang you have a ready made target audience for your works 😄.

➡️ Cons of being in a bang: you need to work to a deadline. For some people this is good motivation, for others it’s just added pressure. You can withdraw from a bang if an irl issue comes up but you need to keep your bang partner and the moderators informed, not just ghost. The other con is that you need to work with a partner which might not be easy if you are an introvert, but mostly in a bang you are working with people who enjoy the same topic as you do, so while it’s still a bit of a lottery who you end up paired with it’s likely that you at least have some things in common. The moderators are also there to help if you aren’t getting on with your partner. They can find Pinch Hitters to step in and take over if someone has to drop out for any reason. And finally the other hard part of a bang is that even if you get all your work done early you still have to wait for your assigned posting date! No instant gratification here unfortunately, but on the plus side there will be plenty of other bang followers who are also eagerly awaiting your posting date! 😁

⭐️ So thats bangs! 😄 and I mentioned that there are also Reverse Bangs out there. In those the artists start off by drawing a picture for the theme of the bang. The artist adds a short synopsis of the idea that led to their art, plus any personal do-not-want’s that they have and the artwork is displayed anonymously in a claims gallery. Then on claims day the authors choose a picture to write a story for by submitting their top choices on a first come first served basis. The moderators pair up the artists and authors that way. Then both partners post their works on the given posting day, same as in a regular bang. Many of the bangs out there alternate between doing regular bangs then reverse bangs, so it’s up to you which style of bang you wanna try.

➡️ if you haven’t tried a bang before I’d definitely advise every creative person to give it a go. Bangs are for all levels of writers and artists and are a good way to get more involved in fandom with likeminded people.

Take a highly repressed closetted gay Edwardian twink and pair him up with an 80s rude boy with daddy issues and childhood trauma. Kill them both. Their ghosts are running away from Death (THE Death from The Sandman because this show is set IN THE SANDMAN UNIVERSE). One of them spent 70 years in Hell before escaping. The other refused to go to the afterlife because he wanted to stay with his best friend.

Add in a psychic with memory loss and a demon ex boyfriend, and an adorable fujoshi girl who has brain parasites (she's okay, she eventually gets them out of her brain and keeps them as pets in a jar - they spend the whole show as a foul mouthed Statler and Waldorf)

Top it all off with a goth lesbian butcher, a cunty witch who is basically Katya (of Trixie and Katya fame - according to Katya herself lol), and OUR VERY OWN RUTH CONNELL AKA QUEEN OF HELL ROWENA PLAYING A BUREAUCRAT FROM THE AFTERLIFE TO COLLECT THE DEAD BOYS SOULS.

Closetted gay Edwardian twink is literally catnip to all the gay Supernatural creatures in town. A cat and a crow both fall madly in love with him.

Well, the cat king is a very cunty, very sexy trickster who seduces our boy and sends him into major gay panic - its adorable, he can't stop picturing his abs.

The crow is the familiar of the cunty witch and she turns him human in order to spy on the dead boys. If anything he is even more twinky than the Edwardian twink. He is very gay and obsessed with astrology and, well, the Edwardian twink. Its cute.

Add in a few excellent case of the week type mysteries - there is a walrus who is a man and not very happy about it, a giant mushroom, a scary haunted house, two dead jocks and a giant fish.

THEN the Edwardian Twink gets dragged back to Hell after an attempted love confession to his best friend. His best friend (80s rude boy with childhood trauma and very probably repressed bisexuality) goes to Hell to rescue him in one of the BEST EPISODES OF TV I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME - It is REALLY REALLY GOOD. They are chased by a horrible spider made of baby doll parts. There is a whole Orpheus and Euridice moment - there is a gorgeously done gay love confession and a response that is SO MUCH MORE THAN WHAT WE DESERVED FOR DEAN WINCHESTER OMG WE DESERVED THIS - it is literally healing my soul watching this scene in DBD.

The rescue from Hell takes place and it is epic. Speight has outdone himself. DID I MENTION THIS SERIES WAS SHOWRUN BY OUR VERY OWN STEVE YOCKEY? THAT YOCKEY? THE YOCKEY WHO DIED FOR US?!? HELLO??? The same Yockey that made the cunty gay gorgon kiss Castiel????

Oh and Jeremy Carver - He who was SO thirsty for naked Castiel - is an executive producer.

Wank Wednesday: Wincest vs Destiel

It’s the battle between giants! This Wank Wednesday, we’re looking at the clash between two juggernaut pairings from the Supernatural fandom: Sam/Dean (Wincest) and Dean/Cas (Destiel). This ship war, which can be dated back to 2009, is particularly known for its length and how it migrated across different platforms.

The participants of the Wincest vs Destiel ship war used many of the same tactics found in other fandoms’ ship wars, including making hateful posts about the other ship and character, advocating for their ship, and spreading hate in the Tumblr or Twitter tags. Both groups have also come up with derogatory nicknames for fans of the other pairing, such as Bronlies to refer to Wincest fans and Destihellers to refer to Destiel fans.

As the ship war revolves around which character should be with Dean, there is also a great deal of hate directed at the characters of Castiel, Sam, and the actors who played them. For SPN fans who didn't participate in the ship war, or didn't ship either of these pairings, the hostility between the two factions often made them feel uncomfortable and unwelcome in the fandom.

I assume this is about the Batman #148 leaks? I haven't seen a ton of drama (other than a couple of posts, including the Destiel meme notification that got me to go see what was happening) but if that's it, it's kind of funny, because okay. As far as I've seen (the issue isn't even out yet, so I can't read it until tomorrow, I'm only going on the leaked panels I've seen) what happens in the issue is that Failsafe-- okay, let me back up. In the current Batman run (written by Chip Zdarsky), awhile back Bruce created a super powerful robot that was meant to be activated in the case of him going rogue so that it could take him down, and it's very coldly logical, based on his patterns, so it knows him extremely well and is hard to beat. It's powerful enough that it apparently took out the Justice League awhile back (I haven't read that arc yet, so take that with a grain of salt), which means now that Failsafe has gone rogue in the current Batman series that Zdarsky's writing, Bruce is having a hell of a time fighting it, especially with his "backup personality" Zur-En-Arrh (Bruce is a paranoid shit and I love him the most) is also running amok in his head and he's fighting back against that. Back up further--in late 2023, there was an event called "Gotham War" that was basically, "Bruce has been through a lot of shit lately, so he was out of commission for several months, in that time Selina stepped up in Gotham and started training crooks to be cat burglars instead of rogues' goons, Bruce woke up, thought this was bullshit, despite that crime was down, and they basically had a turf war while Bruce was losing his goddamned mind because of what he'd been through and because Zur-En-Arrh was literally ratting the bars of the cage of his mind, and part of the fallout being that Bruce dosed Jason with a gas that basically made his adrenaline go wild any time he would do anything dangerous, so that he could no longer be in this life of crime or vigilantism, because Jason had killed a lot of people, but Bruce couldn't bear to send him to jail, so this was the only way he could live with taking Jason out of the life they lived". Gotham War was extremely controversial--I had fun with it, because it was BONKERS and I fuckin' love bonkers stuff in the "punching people in the face solves crime" genre, but a lot of people were really angry about how Jason was treated in the arc. Zdarsky co-wrote Gotham War, so this is a continuation of a lot of people's frustration and anger towards how Jason has been treated by DC especially by this author.

There's also a lot of lingering frustration and resentment in fandom because Jason is not always written well or frequently. He doesn't have his own solo book these days, half of what's written about him is written by authors with VASTLY different takes from the other half of the writers out there, and there's a lot of fanon that goes around with Jason's sub-section of fandom where I think it furthers the divide because the fic that's written about Jason delves deep into his character in specific ways that the canon doesn't match and I think it can set expectations for some fans that are just not matched by DC themselves, either because they see Jason differently or because Jason just doesn't have a lot of fans at the company itself, I couldn't say for sure. So, now comes Batman #148 leaks (it's not actually out until tomorrow), where Failsafe kills Jason and Bruce has a dramatic reaction to it, and a lot of people are furious that DC would kill Jason at all, much less with such little fanfare, after how little focus he's gotten over the last several years. The thing is, though, that Jason doesn't stay dead, he's alive again by the end of the issue (I've seen panels from later in the issue) and I'm not sure how many people are reacting just to seeing the posts flying around fandom versus how many people have actually seen the whole context. Because context is slowly rolling out, but people generally aren't soothed by that, given the lead-up to this moment. Basically, years of Jason not getting much focus in the comics + the events of Gotham War have led to a powderkeg of a situation and the contextless leaks (ie, without the panel where Jason's alive again) took a match to the whole thing. And that's what's going on, as far as I know! I personally am having a great time because I was extremely skeptical that they would actually kill Jason without any fanfare and also I like Jason as a hot mess with crunchy relationships with people and that he's done bad things and had bad things done to him/been a victim as well, so all this messy drama in the story has me living for it. (This would have been a very different situation if I'd thought Jason was really dead, but I didn't, so I'm doing fine right now. Also, my Blorbo is Dick Grayson, so I've already been through this wringer and I'm still mad at DiDio for it, so it's Jason-Blorbo's time now.)

Lots of people (myself included tbh) ship klance (Keith and Lance). In s8 the creators made Allura/Lance canon (but then they killed her off and left the ending ambiguous it was weird). Anyway the fandom treats her like she's the most terrible bitchy woman ever but all she wants to do is end the war and avenge her destroyed home planet. Yeah she wasn't always the nicest or always the best, but you could argue some other characters in the show aren't either and they aren't treated near as bad as allura. people really just hate her bc Lance liked her. I don't think allura/lance are good together, but I still liked her as a character and thought she was interesting and had a lot of growth during the show. she DEF is not evil like some people portray her as in fic or talk about her in captions on posts. I've seen people say that they HATE her and that she's the worst and I'm like ??? let her live (well sort of ig she is dead now). lots of fic writers use her as the villain which is so interesting to me bc the show literally has villains like use them. anyway allura so perfectly fits the bracket description she deserves better.

I hate to acknowledge my time in this fandom but I hate the way the fandom treated her more. Allura was treated like shit no matter what side of the Great Ship War you were on because she was always a threat to the biggest ships (klance and sheith). At best she got put into Background Lesbian or Consolation Prize Shallura (Space Mom-zoned) (She was not a motherly figure btw. She was just Black). At worst she was violently demonized for being ~racist~ (kinda not cool with the alien race that blew up her planet for a few episodes), complete with misogynistic language hurled at her (she got called a bitch sooo much). Allura was a good and cool character and the show did her dirty but the fandom was somehow worse.

i apologise for speaking the dark magicks, but amidst the voltron fandoms many, many transgressions, there were a particular subset of people who just hated this girl. the infamous klance wars of the 2010s kept this perfectly fine childrens cartoon character in the sights of shippers everywhere, and she (and her voice actress im sure) were subjected to years of petty squabble blown up to global perportions. ive seen hate, ive seen rants, ive seen fanfics that made her homophobic. girls been through the ringer, and even though voltron was never the show its fandom wanted it to be, i believe allura deserved better

The other Vees – especially Velvette – tease Vox over his rivalry/obsession with Alastor, often referencing its one-sided sexual nature.

real-radio-demon:

@.real-radio-demon is an Alastor parody account that popped up shortly after Velvette sent Vox a post from Niffty about enemies to lovers ships.

Nobody knows who runs the @.real-radio-demon account, with suspects ranging from Velvette to Niffty to Alastor, himself. Vox suspects the former, due to when the account appeared, but everyone seems to have their own take on the matter.

Hellaverse characters and IRL viewers alike are kept guessing by this account, which seems to have an uncanny amount of relevant information on Alastor and is simultaneously both in and out of character in its posts.

Vox can’t suspend the account because Queen Bee and Loona are fans and Vox knows better than to pick a fight with a Deadly Sin.

Like Tumblr discourse, Voxblr discourse is, um… Well, it sure is something! Voxblr discourse is full of black and white thinking, parasocial hate, largely meaningless buzzwords, out of context drama, and a tendency to miss the point.

Niffty and Alastor are canceled. Radiohusk is problematic. Fizzaroli has antis. And of course, all discourse bloggers piss on the poor.

You have all provided great examples refuting that anon's claims, as they should be refuted because that anon is just repeating things from the standard AA/Heller checklist to try and claim that JP/J2 fans are the worstest ever ( with no receipts, of course), but I will share that there was one death threat towards Jensen after Rust. But, what anon either doesn't know (because they don't bother to research the facts behind the claim) or would rather ignore facts, is that the person making that death threat, despite claiming to be a Jared fan, was not followed by any Jared fans, nor did any Jared fans interact or support that person. In addition, as soon as Jared fans saw they threat, they reported the account en masse, and helped get the account deleted.

Now, if anon wants to compare death threats, we can take one (supposedly Jared fan threat) versus the massive litany of threats against Jared, often for no other reason than existing. Some, as recently as four months ago.

As to Jensen's comments about the crew on Rust, yes, he did call them whiny bitches, but it wasn't over coffee and drinks. I mean, just how bad did it have to be to have crew members walk off the set? How often has anon heard of that happening on any other set? i can only imagine how bad it was and Jensen's dismissal of their feelings definitely contradicts all the times he talks in conventions about treating everyone on set well, including the crew. Right, in regards to any death threats towards Jensen, there's always hundreds more directed at Jared. Hell, even with his car accident he had people wishing him to die. When the show ended and he was cast to lead Walker??? Hundreds of death threats because how dare he end the show so they don't get destiel. When he said SPN wasn't about romance?? Again, hundreds of death threats towards him all done by hellers. So anon can spare me the one or two Jensen might get. When he gets hundreds then you can come back to us crying.

And as for why the crew walked off?? It was pretty bad. They cited the reasons as no pay, no accomodations, many had to sleep in their cars, they heard explosions going off sporadically, it was a very unsafe set to work in.

But like I always say. Come at us when Jensen has hundreds of threats and anyone trying to ruin his reputation, then we can talk.

same anon back here from the last post, so I didn’t know most of that about Danneel I guess I was talking from Jensen’s point of view mostly. He’s a bit more private in ways where like for example Jared’s very open about how he proposed to his wife and the honeymoon and all that and then when jensen’s asked he’s like ‘I’d like to keep that between me and her’ and it’s very ‘private but not a secret’.

I mean, some parents with any form of social media presence do post their children (and I’m talking like… my dad for example who’s had Facebook for 10 years. Just people who have it at all, not celebrities. (I know that’s not the literal meaning of the word, just what I mean)) and so, gen and jared will post lots of photos of them in bed/ kids sleeping so we kind of see a lot of behind the scenes/candid photos but the ackles photos almost always have them posing + i haven’t seen photos of Danneel and Jensen in bed or anything (not that there isn’t but the fact that i’ve looked and hardly found any shows that it isn’t a regular thing).

Anyway, all of this to say, I don’t mind how anyone thinks about anyone, everyone in the world is entitled to their own opinion of course and is always valid and there’s always someone out there that has the same ideas however I don’t like when people say it on the internet because like this is his life, and while he’s not the most secretive man in the world it’s because he likes his fans and finds a lot of positive energy from posting, which I can only imagine helps him like his job better. + it’s part of the job. Not the posting his kids, but posting in general, so it’s bound to have a few kid pics.

This is a long ramble, but mostly because i’ve seen a hundred of these pages for anti Danneel and it’s never because of anything serious. Of course if we have proof she is using Jensen/her kids for any of that than that would be serious and I would understand the hate but because I haven’t seen other reasons such as her not supporting important causes or using her money for bad (which she actually hasn’t talked about Gaza but then again neither Jared nor Jensen talked about and they don’t boycott, so really, we can’t talk about character there.)

I guess coming here (on an anti page) isn’t the best place to say all this, became my message is to just, maybe not say things that we wouldn’t want her kids to see/hear but maybe someone else can see this message and think the same way I do. I mean, I think strongly the same way about RPF. I used to write for it before I got super uncomfortable with the thought, these are human beings and this isn’t ’real person fiction’ it is ‘real people’. What you’re writing is fictional but this person isn’t. They have kids that will eventually use their internet and those kids have friends that will see these things. OMG, if you were rude to me, it would be tragic. Have you read my blog? Someone being polite is actually a rarity, and rudeness almost always ends up in me exposing the anon or ridiculing them, so wise choice. Also, everything EVERYONE writes, including you, my dear, is speculation. It's a take on things we see. Unless it's Destiel, then it's fiction. All I do is write in my (I need to keep saying this for some reason) very small blog my own perspective on things, which I don't assume (because I'm not a delulu) that is right. It's an opinion. My opinion is fact. It is a fact that I feel a certain way about things. It is my right to share it. Those who don't like it can kindly switch to other blogs. You know, this is the thing that annoys me about delulus, but at the same time is so telling about them. If someone wrote on a blog about some crazy conspiracy theory that vaccines are going to make us grow an extra pair of legs, I'd simply overlook it. I wouldn't waste my time with someone's blog trying to disprove something that I consider to be a lie. I wouldn't even confront the blogger, I would simply assume they are troubled. The fact that my inbox fills at such a rapid rate tells me that delulus feel that there may be truth to what I and my other mutuals write. We frazzle their delusion. that's not what jackles said. that's like, a smallllll snippet of the entire thing. he essentially, in my opinion, said the Testament aka cas' Declaration and proof of love [i find it interesting he corrects himself from confession to testament by the way when we all call it the confession, he calls it a testament, which is astoundingly amazing] stands as it is, and that their love for each other is going to basically be understood when they're reunited. They don't need to have a sit-down chat or long-winded therapy discussion about their feelings.

We, the audience, also know where they both stand with each other. This concept that they'll get Cas back and he won't know that Dean loves him back is astounding to me. Jackles is saying essentially that they're each other's people, that they found each other, that they keep finding each other, and that when they reunite, both of their feelings will be understood.

And that dean understands. When they reunite, it will be understood that dean understands. He didn't say there wasn't going to be reciprocation, just that Cas' words don't need resolving.

Aka, what's changed from previous answers he's given? From "let's talk about that goodbye" to now? I'm being mostly serious when i say, i think they've outlined that scene or have a rough outline on how that scene is going to go and he's trying to give an answer without giving away the store lol.

I say this because this was a pretty detailed answer, in my opinion, and him calling Cas' words a testament instead of 'the confession' also makes me think there have been some conversations.

i know that assumption is wildly speculative because who knows where they are in the continuation process behind these scenes but given the fact that it's actually quite useless to even have a continuation unless they follow up the destiel arc and finish up that storyline, i do think it's been top of mind for everyone involved. Yes, including jackles. Don't even get me started on him correcting that fan who shouted subtext with text.

But Dean's also a man of action and his love can be seen through those actions and if a man is going to hope universes and try to potentially jailbreak into The Empty to get me (if that's what they wind up doing which I thnk they are) that's love in my opinion as well. He's done that also twice in Purgaytory, ignoring an easy way out until he found Cas, putting his own well-being at risk, and also ignored a time limit and risked getting trapped in there because he couldn't find Cas so...

Suffice it to say, I also think in general, you just gotta give the man some faith and just see what happens.*

There's absolutely no hard concrete evidence anywhere that 15x18 won't have a follow-up in continuation, and no, Jackle's purcon answer doesn't fall under that either. in my opinion.
