Walking into #GeminiSeason like 🥰 And just like fine wine, I get better with age. #AskMyHusband Today is my birthday #May25, and it’s the first year I didn’t make a big deal out of it. I actually was thinking of what can I do special for my husband, our birthday is 3 days apart. But seriously.. I woke up to missed phones calls, texts, FT, DMs all wishing me a very happy birthday.. and let me just say.. EVERY #HappyBirthday matters. Birthdays are special, and it really made my day. 1. What's your age? 16!

2. What's your current job? I'm just a student but I've been thinking of applying for a job at a father-and-son run ice cream shop by my house and/or opening commissions.... but I'd have to improve my art first TT^TT art improvement is hard 

3. What are you talented at? Um..??? Idk if I'm good enough at anything to be called talented? I'm pretty ok at writing, and I sing and dance a lot... I'm in musical theatre so that's gotta count for something, right? And my art is pretty ok too? And  i just started a PURELY ART art blog so follow me @kyarairo if you can?

4. What big goal are you working toward? I want to write and publish a book by the end of the year! I already have a few chapters done and most of the book planned, but I haven't been able to make myself write in a long time... aye.. I'd also like to improve my voice and my art! I started a YouTube channel for me to translate and make my own translyrics and sing them, but when I made it my voice was really gross and when I heard my own voice I just shut it down... maybe soon I’ll post something not disgusting??

5. What is your aesthetic? X-Files, blurry photos of cryptids, smokey pictures... but I also love grandiose ballrooms and gowns and anything with pearls! But I also like dreamy and psychedelic stuff too... I actually have a suggestion blog based off that lol it's @phantasmagoricalsuggestions hmu there

6. Do you collect anything? I have a bunch of fabric I haven't used and a lot of books I can't bear to throw away...oh and anything Labyrinth, be it copies of the movie, soundtrack, art, or books, I have it all... I can see 2 pieces of Labyrinth merch from where I'm sitting~ ❤️

7. What is a topic you're always up to talk about? Human rights, especially women's and lgbtq+, Hannibal, witch and tarot, writing/literature, Mystic Messenger, art, fanfiction, hunter x hunter, vocaloid

8. What’s a pet peeve of yours? I really hate it when I say something and someone just ignores me, talks over me, or says the same thing I do and takes all the credit for it.... it happens a lot and it’s terrible :/

9. Good advice to give? Try to go to bed at a reasonable hour, I never get enough sleep ;v; also try to get three meals a day! I do bad with this too

You would think because I planned this pregnancy, I would be happy. I am. I just can’t control my #depression. Right now... I started my #therapysession in August 2020. It was hard just finding the right therapist. But after shuffling through 3 different ones, I found one who I can talk to, a therapist who’s engaging, but also holding me accountable, challenging me to be better, helping me understand my condition but most importantly pinpointing key indicators to help me understand why I feel the way that I feel. I now see both a therapist and a psychiatrist and boy did that feel good to tell y’all that yes! I’m seeing a mental health dr because I need to figure out a way to channel these emotions. Especially with #Covid I see both my psychiatrist and therapist 2x a week and let me just tell y’all this shit helps man. Many of you don’t know but I lost a huge part of me earlier this year, and truthfully speaking I still haven’t really gotten pass it. I think I do a lot of ignoring. And living my day in and day out just not having to face the fact that the man I called father is no longer around. As I’m typing this I’m having a really hard time so I will stop here. I just want y’all to know that finding the right therapist or psychiatrist is no different than finding a guy you like to date. If you get lucky you may find your match the first go around. I challenge you to challenge your #therapist with questions to make sure they are good for you. The goal is to get out of seeing a therapist and a #psychiatrist so there’s should be actionable steps on how you can improve during each session. Just because you prayed for something, planned for something and things actually go your way but for whatever reason you don’t get this joy of relief, please don’t beat yourself up. It’s so much deeper than that. The Hannigram Holiday Exchange is finally here! My recipient was @unorthodoxtherapy, who wanted something sweet and domestic! Well, my expertise lies in angst, but… I tried my best! Happy Holidays everybody and thank you, @fragile-teacup, for being such a patient beta and @hannigramholidayexchange, for organizing such a great event!

The days before Christmas were busy.

Will wasn’t sure what Hannibal was planning, but it seemed elaborate. Hannibal spent most of his days in the kitchen, preparing all sorts of meals and shooing Will away whenever he asked if he could help. Once, Will thought he saw him baking cookies. Cookies.

Hannibal had always poured everything into his cooking, but their first Christmas together seemed especially important to him. It made Will smile and saddened him at the same time.

He hasn’t had the opportunity to celebrate Christmas in years.

Maybe he never has. He has been as alone as you.

Or maybe he just never saw any reason for it.

Will’s last Christmases had been filled with the laughter of children and the chatter of Molly’s drunk relatives. It should have felt rewarding, but it had only been tiring. There were some things he did miss, but this wasn’t one of them.

Hannibal felt the need to compare with his former wife. To be better than her, to gift Will with the best Christmas he’d ever have. So Will let him do it. Let him go all out with his preparations, with his cooking and with the decorations. No skulls this time, no antlers. Normal, festive decorations, bordering on kitsch. Smiling cartoony snowmen, chubby Santas, stars and cones and glitter balls. Maybe a bit too many reindeer in the mix.

Hannibal erected a giant Christmas tree, adorned it with lights and tinsel and antiquated wooden figurines that reminded Will of his childhood. He even made glogg himself, served with raisins and almonds that warmed Will’s hands in the chilly evenings and tasted of fine wine, corn schnapps, cinnamon and cardamom.

He was trying to make Will feel comfortable in their new shared home. It had been almost half a year since they had reached their Canadian destination. A long time for healing and reflection, for testing boundaries and sharing only a little. They were slowly connecting with one another and exploring what it meant to be together. Everything had been quiet and peaceful so far, but Will knew that change was imminent. He only hoped that change wouldn’t include any blood.

Hannibal came into the kitchen with two large sacks of ingredients. Another day spent shopping. Will wondered if they were expecting any guests he wasn’t aware of, but feared they were not.

»Hello Will,« he greeted. He always went out shopping alone – it was safer that way. Will wouldn’t be of much help in any case, but he wasn’t idle either. He had grabbed a few tangerines and a small bag of cloves and was busy perforating the fruits with the dried-up flower buds. He merely nodded in answer to Hannibal’s greeting, focused on his task.

»What are you doing?« Hannibal asked after storing his purchases away, looking slightly puzzled at Will’s handiwork.

»Something my mother used to do for Christmas,« Will answered, plugging another clove into the tangerine. »Well, I never saw her do it.« He looked up and was met with a faint, understanding smile. »Dad made them and told me it was my mother’s idea. That she learned it from her grandmother. Dad did it as a reminiscence of her.«

»And now you do it to commemorate her,« Hannibal said. He sat down next to Will and watched him work. It was still strange to have him so near. His body emanated cold and there were some snowflakes in his hair that had yet to melt.

»I haven’t done it in years,« Will said. »It’s strange, really. I saw that you bought some tangerines and I just… had to do it. Sorry if I ruined your plans for Christmas.«

Hannibal shook his head. His nostrils flared slightly, taking in the scent of the unusual blend.

»Subtle, but rather lovely,« he said calmly.

»It’s something you only ever smell when you pass close by,« Will said. »Something that fills your nose for only a moment.«

»It has nostalgic value.«

»It’s a reminder.«

»Of what?«

What Hannibal needed was validation. Will was inclined to give it to him. »Of home.«

Light filled Hannibal’s eyes and his smile widened. He looked at Will as if to figure out if he was serious or not.

Will mirrored his smile. »Does it remind you of something too?«

Instead of answering, Hannibal took his hand. Hesitantly, giving Will more than enough opportunity to pull away. When Will didn’t, he brought it up to his face, closing his eyes and breathing in. His nose felt cold against Will’s skin.

»No,« he said. »But I’m looking forward to creating a new memory.«

Before he let go of Will’s hand, he pressed a light kiss against his knuckles.
