Day 1: RED

So, for day 1 I decided to paint fem!Light. I had two assotiations with red, one was blood and the other Light's red aura, and this idea was born. Also... red lipstic 💄💋 so, yeah (sexy) female Light surrounded with red color. ^-^

Day 7: Cosplay

Pairing: Hints of Lawlight

L and Light were bored. The chain that connected them idly swung a few inches over the ground. Eventually, Light's head bobbed.

"Wanna go to Comic Con?"

L's brow quirked.

"That... seems very unlike you. You have tickets?"

Light's face soured.

"Yeah, I do. I was supposed to go with friends. But then, well... you know." He gently rattled the chain with an accusatory glare.

L's lips pursed, not responding to the jab. It was probably a bad idea. Knowing Light, he probably had some sort of master plan. L's voice came out flat.

"I wouldn't undo the chain."

"You don't have to. We'll just say it's part of the cosplay."

L considered. Hm. Eventually, he swung to a sitting position and sighed.

"Fine. Let's go."

The second they stepped into the venue, they froze. All around them were people dressed up as different interpretations of L and Kira. They were imaginative, to be sure.

The Kiras wore everything from wings to devil horns to incorporating fake hearts into their outfits. Some of them carried scythes, others swords and wands. Light's mouth fell open. This was... weird. He glanced in shock at the interpretations of L.

Some looked like Sherlock Holmes. Some were literally just a giant foam L. Some of them were dressed up as the suave detective archetype. Others seemed more grungy.

Perhaps the thing that made both L and Light want to turn around and go home though was the fact that most of the L and Kira cosplays they saw were couple costumes. People walking and holding hands, pressing tender kisses against lips and cheeks. And the Artist Alley... Oh, God, the Artist Alley...

"Why... why do people ship us?" Light murmured in horror.

All L could do was stare with his large, owlish eyes. A teen passed them and looked at them, tilting his head slightly.

"Are you cosplaying as L and Kira?"

The two of them nodded slowly. The kid perked up at pointed at L.

"That's a pretty cool cosplay! It's perfectly creepy for Kira!"

He looked at Light with an approving nod.

"Not a bad L! You two make a cute couple!"

The teen beamed and continued on towards the autograph section. Light's eyes bugged, his jaw tense at being referred to as an L. He glared murderously after the kid. L's brow quirked. So apparently he came across more as a Kira. He touched a thumb to his mouth, lips curving around the finger.

"15%."

Light's head whipped in his direction, cheeks dusting a light red.

"I want to go back to the building," he growled bluntly.

L smirked, large eyes sparking mischievously.

"Nope! We're going to Artist Alley."

Without another word or debate, L unceremoniously dragged Light in the direction of the fan art, snickering as Light started calling him every name under the sun.

Unofficial Deathnotetober Day 4: Mother

This art is based on my headcanon about L.

As a person who is buried in work, he didn’t really have time to deal with feelings, or reflect. But feelings won’t just disappear. Sometimes L feels suddenly overwhelmed with unexplainable sadness. That’s when he has to take a short break.

He takes a trip alone to Paris, where he was born, and stays at his family’s apartment, that he has bought. He reads a book, or takes a walk alone. This is his way of coping with the wound that never really heals - the absence of his parents.

Eventually he returns home to the UK. Wammy never asks him where he’s been, but he knows anyway.

Blood Red Eyes

Day 1: Red

Pairing: One-sided L/Light

Light's eyes are beautiful, L noted to himself.

Of course he would never openly admit that he found the man attractive. But that's what L's mind was for; a dark little corner where he could tuck away the more forbidden thoughts. Light's attractiveness was definitely one of those.

L admired the shade of brown. It was a dark mahogany, bordering on red. They reminded L of smoldering fire, accompanying the barely contained murderous rage that L wanted to coax out and expose to the world.

During the Yotsuba investigation, L noticed that Light's eyes seemed to change colors. They were lighter than they had previously been. He couldn't decide whether to call them amber or honey colored. 'Brown' still didn't suit them. Even with Light acting more innocent, the term was too ordinary, too mundane for an entity like Light.

L had been so lost in thought. So distracted by the Shinigami that stood right outside the helicopter that he didn't notice when Light took the death note from his fingers.

Light's shriek sent goosebumps peppering up and down his skin. L had seen so much in his career.

He knew a dying scream when he heard one.

L slowly looked up, the chills and tension in the air so palpable that he practically suffocated on it. Just like that, Light was back to normal.

"Um, Light? Are you okay? I suppose anyone would've been surprised seeing a monster like that..."

"Yeah, I'm fine, Ryuzaki. We should get this analyzed."

He looked up at met L's gaze with what should've been a reassuring smile. But L only could focus on those eyes, dark again yet somehow blazing, bright red. So red they were practically glowing.

It was like being caught in a predator's gaze. A creature that wanted to rip through L's chest and feast on his heart.

The blood it sought reflected the redness in his eyes.
