Future Reflections

Posting again with a new au, very predictable behavior from me. I’m just gonna put the basics of this au here since it’s quite long (loosely inspired by fics, mainly ‘The Darkening Of Your Soul’ by Maeglin_Yedi if you’ve read it you know exactly what part of this fic I’ve swiped haha )

Basically, after the war and rebuilding, the ministry figures out that Harry is Voldemorts horcrux from Dumbledore’s notes (and his portrait) they come to the conclusion that Harry is a liability and so they arrest him and then execute him.

Due to his being the master of death though, Harry can’t die and instead heads right back to limbo. He has a talk with death about what his options are and decides to dimension hop. (Cause time travel that let’s you affect the future technically isn’t possible in HP and I hate the cursed child so..) he tries to create a better future for himself twice before ending up in the dimension this au actually takes place in. In this universe, Harry Potter died when the curse was shot at him (but it still rebounded for reasons I will explain later) due to this, Harry can’t inhabit the body of a younger him, and so just uses his original body. This time though, he’s doing everything differently, and his plans include getting a certain dark lord to help him. Which should be easy peasy

DW - UNNAMED AU - CHAPTER ONE

Astro's fur bristled against the icy air, his breath forming clouds in front of him. Despite always feeling cold, this time it was different - a bone-chilling discomfort that seemed to worsen with every step Shelly led him on.

"Vee isn't safe," he said, his voice betraying more worry than he wanted to show. Shelly paused beside him, her eyes scanning the ground before her shoulders stiffened.

"They'll recognize you," she spoke in an attempt at reassurance, adjusting her bandana before resuming their walk.

"Just try not to panic when you see them," she added quickly, and Astro could hear the fear in her tone. He hurried to catch up, the sound of his claws clicking on the frigid floor echoing through the hallway.

The harsh fluorescent lights flicker above as they walk through the dimly lit hallway. Black streaks cover the concrete walls, giving off a strange odor. Astro glances at them, his star-shaped eye flashing with each flicker of light. He reaches out and grabs Shelly's shoulder, causing her to flinch. She turns to face him with a stern look, waiting for him to speak.

"Are you sure about this?" he asks, his voice wavering as the star in his eye continues to flicker.

Shelly musters a weak smile and nods before turning towards the large steel door in front of them.

The numbers on the door seem familiar.

"When have I ever been?"

Why are they so familiar?

Astro swallows his worry, nods, and lets Shelly approach the door.

He watches as she comes up to the odd tech to the side of it, her eyes darting across it before she sighs, reaching into her pocket.

“Don’t tell Dandy I have this.” She mumbles as she pulls out a card of some kind, pushing it into the slot. Astro catches sight of a photo of Dandy on it, getting closer and feeling a bit more comfortable with the situation. 

If Dandy helped with this, it couldn’t be that bad.

Shelly inserts the card, seeming used to this whole process as she wiggles it in place a little bit, and a low, mechanical thrum starts from behind the wall.

The door slides open with a hiss, revealing a dimly lit corridor stretching into darkness. A gust of frigid air rushes out, making Astro shiver involuntarily. The cold intensifies, seeping against him through his blanket.

Shelly hesitates for a moment, then steps through. Astro follows close behind, his star eye casting an eerie glow on the walls. The door closes behind them with a soft thud.

As they press forward down the dimly lit corridor, Astro's eyes are drawn to the eerie symbols etched into the walls. They seem to pulse with a malevolent energy, causing a sharp pain to shoot through his twisted and scarred dark side every time he gazes upon them. Each step forward feels like a weight pressing down on him, as if the symbols are tightening their grip on his mind and soul.

"Shelly," he whispers, "what are those markings?"

She doesn't answer, her pace quickening. Astro struggles to keep up, the cold slowing his movements.

Without warning, a deep rumble reverberates through the narrow corridor, sending vibrations through the walls and floor. The sound is accompanied by heavy, metallic footsteps that grow louder with each passing moment. Astro begins to regret following Shelly down this path, realizing now that it may have been a mistake.

He had assumed Shelly was just shaken up about Vee's sudden disappearance and had made up some kind of story. But as a low hiss of steam fills the air and Shelly visibly relaxes at the sight of it, Astro realizes there may be more to her actions than he initially thought. Perhaps she had done something beyond drawing on the wall in frustration.

The metallic scent of machinery lingers in the air, mixed with the faint smell of oil and grease. The red glow of hot metal emanates from around the corner, signaling the approach of whatever is making those loud footsteps. A sense of danger hangs heavily in the atmosphere, causing Astro's heart to race as he braces himself for what is to come.

Shelly steps forward, and Astro has to fight with his instincts telling him to grab her back.

And then… something comes around the corner. A sick mockery of them.

Their limply dangling head is propped up by a jagged metal pipe that serves as their neck, the once crisp and sophisticated bowtie now tattered and stained with an ominous substance that seeps from the symbols painted on the wall. Their upper half is crudely attached to their lower half with thick, oily strings of ichor - the same foul liquid that spills from any injured toon.

Though their screen is dark, it's clear they are aware of their surroundings. The burning red metal arms emit a low hissing noise as they cool down while inching closer to Shelly. With each creak from their disjointed body, they sit in a hunched position, their knees drawn up towards their chest.

Shelly takes a step forward, but before she can react, Astro swiftly moves in front of her, his one eye narrowing into a menacing glare at this imposter posing as their long gone partner.

"Astro-" Shelly begins, but her words are cut short by a sharp clicking sound emanating from not-Vee. The grotesque amalgamation tilts its head at Astro, as if studying him.

Confusion furrows his brow as he looks from the strange creature to Shelly. His breath mists in front of him, the air freezing around them. "What is this?" he finally asks, feeling a mix of fear and curiosity. Shelly doesn't answer right away, instead pushing past him to place her sharp claws on top of the creature's head.

"Vee," she states simply, her voice almost reverent as she gazes at the twisted form before her. Astro flinches, expecting an attack, but the creature remains calm under Shelly's touch.

For a moment, all is still and silent except for the sound of their breathing. Then, Shelly's lips curve upwards into a genuine smile - something Astro hasn't seen from her in weeks. She kneels down in front of the creature, placing her hand lightly on its chest as if offering comfort or reassurance.

Astro knits his eyebrows together and hesitates, unsure of what to do. Shelly notices his hesitation and her face contorts with desperation as she reaches out her hand to him.

"Please," she pleads, and he exhales heavily before reluctantly extending his hand towards hers. She pulls him closer, and he kneels down next to her. He looks at her with uncertainty, and she nods slightly, letting go of his hand to gesture towards Vee.

He shakes his head, refusing to comply, but her gaze turns into a glare that brooks no opposition.

With a sigh, Astro places his hand against their chest, next to Shelly's. The corridor falls into a tense silence.

He knows deep down that this can't be them, but it feels so real. The sound of their breathing matches Vee's perfectly. The whirring of their mechanical systems is the same sound that used to lull him to sleep every night when he and Shelly would lay on their chest to prevent them from working themselves to death.

Astro tenses up, feeling like this is some cruel trick. But then Shelly places her clawed hand over his shaking one, steadying him without saying a word.

"It's okay," she manages to choke out through tears that are threatening to spill. And in that moment, Astro can hear the pain and longing in her voice, mirroring his own feelings. It's all he can do to not break down alongside her.

its also a long one so ill put the lore underneath the cut (my writing isnt the greatest right now bcuz im tired and ive been writing for almost 12 hours straight lmao i can no longer create proper sentences)

Everything is pretty much the same (wow how original, right) but on the ARK, when Black Doom gave Gerald his DNA, Gerald accidentally created a 4th dimensional entity. No one knows how or what to do about it. Gerald just did his stuff with Black Doom's DNA, turned around, and there was Shadow (named by Maria for his lack of a shadow). Shadow was able to successfully cure Maria, and when Gerald's reports indicated so, GUN became suspicious of the almost miraculous turnaround and started investigating.

Once they found out about Project Shadow and what Gerald had somehow done, they regarded Shadow as a top priority threat and began developing experimental technology to counter Gerald's "weapon" in secret.

It took a few years of observation to make sure Maria really was cured, and during that time, she and Shadow became extremely close. Most of the scientists on the ARK either feared him or were cautious around him, though, not quite sure if he could be fully trusted due to all the uncertainty around how he worked.

Eventually, GUN decided to launch a raid on the ARK. Everyone onboard was given sufficient warning that the shuttle was approaching thanks to Shadow, but no one knew why. Once onboard, they immediately began interrogating the scientists and searching for Project Shadow. A soldier shot at Maria in an attempt to get them to cooperate, but Shadow revealed himself and stopped the bullet from hitting her. (im tired pretend theres a conflict escalation here) One thing led to another, and Shadow ended up getting a gold ring forced into his wrist - the experimental technology GUN had been developing the whole time.

It was a set of four golden rings meant to confine Shadow to the 3rd dimension, and while one didn't do it immediately, it slowed him down enough for the soldiers to get the others on him, trapping him in a 3d form and shooting Maria anyway to punish him for acting out.

yap yap yap the rest of the scientists are massacred and Gerald is arrested as per canon event. Shadow is also taken into GUN custody and tortured in a variety of ways, under the guise of scientific research (green line down torso on ref is a scar from vivisection), all while being in indescribable pain from being confined to the 3rd dimension. For 50 years, this is an on and off thing, and he is kept top secret, only known about by some of the highest clearance agents.

Eggman, looking through GUN's databases for anything that could be of use to him, finds one of Gerald's old reports that slipped through the cracks, and begins the search for Project Shadow. The events of SA2 happen, and after Heroes, Shadow is able to break free from the confinement of the Inhibitors, finally freeing himself from the 3rd dimension.

i think theres more id usually add at this point but my brain has literally clocked out so ill just add more like tomorrow or whenever. but basically now shadow just kinda chills like that one homie you see every once in a while

Was nobody gonna tell me that Solar spoke French? And apparently Eclipse though idk if that’s true because I haven’t been able to find a clip of that so far-

I saw a tiktok referring to Solar speaking French in the “Lunar SAVES Eclipse in VRCHAT” episode on laes and I thought they were joking but no. Solar did indeed speak French—according to some comments he said something along the lines of “how do I say this”

People were also saying that the va’s first language is French but I haven’t been able to find confirmation of that yet either so idk-

Abbeyofcyn Colour in your style

Painting the lineart for this was really fun, and I really enjoyed doing it, even if I feel like I bit a bit more than I could chew at first, what with me wanting to do two different light sources XD

I also wanted to colour the lineart of this, however the results that I got aren't that good, so I'll be uploading two pieces, one without the lineart painted (the one I like more), and the one with the coloured lineart. Hope you like it everyone and @abbeyofcyn

Ok, now that the art is done, I have a lot to say about how I chose to color everything, but that could get long so I'll leave all of that under a read more, expand at your own risk XD

Allright, so first of all, a detail that I'm not sure many people will be able to catch in the first place. The flowers, I colored them in a specific way, because each of them represents a different person.

In here I added the flowers to represent each of the beings present on the art, Red for Raph, Light Blue for Leo, Purple for Donnie, Orange for Mickey, Dark blue for F!Leo, and finally Pink for the Krang; because the latest might not be present literally, but the sky and pink light clearly indicate that they're still a presence to be felt in the world.

In here we have the four turtles again, with the flowers being their respective colors. However, since all but one of them are cut, I chose to color them in what I believe the order they died in the bad future is. First is Raph, I doubt he'd let anyone die before him, so the single corner of a red petal goes to him, then Donnie goes next, hence why a petal and a bit of the center is the only thing that can be seen of him; and now we come to the first scene of the movie, which makes it so that Mikey is the next flower that's cut off, and finally Leo gets the only not cutt off flower, because he's still living here.

This are the last patch of flowers, and the reason why I colored them that way is because each of them represent a different person that's important for the turtles. The Green represent April's Ninpo, I wanted to add her and ther ninpo was the only way I could think of, and on the same vein, the white and black next to her are Splinter when he's on his Ninpo state at their final fight against Shredder. Below them there's the gray and sorta orange flowers, this time they both represent Splinter in his normal form, and yes I know I put him twice in there, he's their father, he deserves it XD

Finally there's the dark brown and gray flowers, these one represent Cassandra Jones and Cassey Junior, you can't argue that they end up being pretty important to the turtles, the first one helped them in the fight against Shredder, and the second one literally kickstarted the movie XD

Next thing to discuss is why I chose to have two different lightning sources and why they are what they are.

First is the Krang sky at the front, I chose this because I got inspired by this idea for the AU behind this lineart from Abbeyofcyn and wanted to continue said AU idea. My take and continuation is that even after the Magic Tie Portal that Mickey did to send Casey Jr. to the past exploded and send the Krang at the battlefield away (and considering how big the battlefield it was, it most likely killed or pushed away every single Krang at New York) and F!Leo got the Tots!Turtles, there were still enough living Krang around the world that are still ravaging the world, this time more out of spite than anything since they know the won and simply want to kick down a dead horse. F!Leo is going in that direction because he's aware that there are Krang still left, and the sad reality is that he can't shield the Tots!Turtles forever, but at least he should be able to train them and teach them everything he can, while also giving them the chance to have a childhood as well, similar to Casey Jr. but more chill.

F!Leo and Tots!Raph are the only ones facing the Krang light, and that's on purpose, the former because obviously he'll be the main force against the remnants of the Krang that are still on Earth, and the latter because no matter the form, Raph will always want to protect his siblings, and he ain't afraid to punch a few f them in the face to do so. Tots!Mikey meanwhile is in the backpack, being shielded from the Krang light, with it barely reaching him, and again, that's on purpose, everyone will want to protect him since he's the youngest, and the fact that he also will become the strongest Mystical Warrior the world will ever see again, and so F!Leo will try to teach him whatever he knows about Ninpo and the Mystic Powers, doing his best to shield him from the horrors of the Krang so that he can focus on learning Mystical Powers.

Tots!Leo and Tots!Donnie are giving their back to the Krang light, but that's not because they'll ignore the menace they represent, but rather because they're focusing on what's more important to them at the moment, for Tots!Leo is his twin brother and the shenanigans/drama he can get with him, while for Tots!Donnie is his curiosity and need to learn about the world around him (Also he's autistic and likes rocks, fight me XD). Leo here is shielding Donnie from the Krang's light, agan made on purpose, because he loves his twin too much and wants to protect him from the horrors, while also pulling his rope to bring him back to the present; Donnie meanwhile only has a little bit of Krang light on him, which is their looming threat that they represent for a great while, however they aren't the biggest thing occuping his mind, and thanks to his twin, he's able to not focus on them for a while to concentrate on more things that'll help everyone in the future; which brings me to...

The yellow light, which comes from the sun that's behind them, and considering how it's a yellow and not an orange one, the current time is morning and it's Dawn, the rise of a new day, new begginings and start for a new hope. It might seem like they're walking away from the light and into the Krang's side, however with this idea I had it's less that they're getting further away from the light, but rather bringing the light with them, illuminating everyone's path and pushing back against the Krang.

As you can see, everyone is bathed in the sun's light glow, however Tots!Donnie, Tots!Raph and Tots!Leo are the ones that are literally bathed in it, while F!Leo has his legs covered in it and Tots!Mikey only has sunlight on his head. Once again this is all on purpose, and I'll explain everyone's light position now :3

Tots!Raph, The sunlight is mostly on his shell, tail and arms, which is because he'll be in charge of protecting everyone's uture, and that sadly also means that he'll be bearing the heaviest burden out of his brothers, but that'll also means that when the burden is eventually lifted, he'll be the one that looks forwards the most.

F!Leo's future is uncertain, the sunlight covers only his legs completly because even if he's the guiding light of everyone's future, and no matter how much light he has on his back, shell, legs and arms; he's not covered in any of it beyond his role as a guide, so still uncertainty envelops him.

Tots!Mikey is literally being carried in a bag to the future, which again is because he's the youngest and the strongest mystical warior out of them, but he's also somewhat of a backup plan, his role will be less to guide anyone to the bright future and more ensure that no one gets left behind under the looming threat of the Krang, hence why he only has the sunlight on his face and he's not covered in it like his brothers.

Tots!Leo and Tots!donnie, the disaster twins, they both are encased in light because both of them will help create the brightest future as well, however Donnie is covering a half of Leo, not letting him be truly fully under the sunlight, and again, that's because while he protects his twin from the Krang, Leo is sacrificing part of his abilities to guide everyone else but his brother. Donnie meanwhile is literally encased in light, his face fully iluminated, and that's because with his smarts and creativity, he'll be the biggest reason that a brighter future will be created for Earth, his inventions carrying everyone towards it.

Finally, why I started with dry grass on the foreground and ended with green grass at the mountains on the horizon, and that's because even with their uncertain future, even though they are the guiding light that'll bring a new brighter future to the world, that doesn't mean that the world is at such a critical state that they literally can't be saved. There are still people out there, living in hiding, no matter how it seems from the start point, there's still life out there.

And that's all I wanted to say about how I painted it and why I did so, I had so much I wanted to say and, to anyone who bothers to read all of this, thanks for doing so, I put way too much thoughts into this ambitious for me painting, and I loved writing all of this down as well. Learning about the distant past

A crumb of context: after Harry gets to this new universe he brings Tom back with the help of Barty Crouch Jr. For security though, both Tom and Barty are under unbreakable vows (Tom’s being more strict) that keep them relatively harmless and make them help Harry ‘achieve his goals’ so Tom has to Figure It Out or he will perish 😔

We will get into more deets later, honestly I think it’s just more fun to explain the plot with mini comics then to just write it all out so that’s prolly what I’ll end up doing
