Went to two farmers markets, a nursery, and got boba today!! 🌸

Everything is beautiful and lovely and it feels amazing outside (wore my carhartts with a tank top)

I bought from the farmers markets: cornmeal, bread, pomodoro sauce, two different soft cheeses, honey, apple blackberry jam, jowl bacon, and crowder beans (super excited about these because I can’t find them in grocery stores around me)

Also I saw a lovely fiddlehead fern bench at the nursery that I really would love for my garden space but it’s $300 :(

Have you ever woken up just plain angry? Cause boy howdy I did. I dreamt I was at a restaurant that was being terrible and the kitchen was just like a bunch of dudes fucking around and this guy just gave me a plate of this bullshit excuse of chicken Alfredo and I think I was so angry I woke myself up.

NEW UPDATE: TWO NEW CAMPS!

There are two new camps, made of about 240 families, built up around the one on Hussam's land due to the numerous refugees coming to Rafah. Hussam said that the nights are so cold and windy, the kids get frightened at night from the way the sand blows and scratches against the tents. So, he decided to buy 500 blankets for the surrounding camp residents!

Also, he plans on focusing on food next, with the next few days dedicated to spending on a variety of food items. The prices and supply for these are continuously changing but as of February 16th, one package of food costs about $33. Here is a breakdown of what they contain:

Lentils- 2 kilo

Rice- 2 kilo

Pasta- 1 kilo

Oil- 1 liter

Cheese- 4 cans

Tomato Sauce- 360 gram

Ful (Beans)- 4 cans

26. how’s your spice tolerance?

Okay so like for a white person pretty good! I like spicy food a lot (although I don't eat enough of it imo) and to me the only thing better than eating spicy food is cooking it! Love love love cooking with hot peppers <333 (although I'm also stupid and never wear gloves while chopping peppers, istg you'd think I've learned my lesson but my fingers burn for DAYS every time) and it makes cooking more special to me and personal in general. My parents both also love spicy food (esp my dad and both more than me lol) and we actually grow hot peppers in our yard and have for years. My dad is known for his hot pepper flakes that he gives out to everyone and puts on everything (he dries them out in the oven which makes the air turn SO noxious for like one day but its cool) and one of his friends used to do a "hot sauce party" that we would go to where people would show up and bring peppers and machines and bottles and make their own hot sauces. So like hot peppers are love actually. But also I need to eat way more (and actually order the "hot" options in restaurants etc) and build up my tolerance to a level closer to that of my parents etc. Anyways this is super long but yeah I love hot stuff but need to get a better spice tolerance
