#Comfortember 2023, day 2 Sweater Weather

Another outfit study!! This took me way longer than it should have but I had to get her hair just right and it's really slow going for me. I actually really struggled with some of these; I had more outfits sketched but once it came to colors I got frustrated and gave up on those. Still I'm really happy with the ones I did finish!! Especially the formalwear n_n

Hello there, Tumblr!

It has been my dream to have a shamelessly self-indulgent pony-posting account since I first watched MLP:FiM around 9 years ago, and so here I finally am! I have so so so many ocs and nextgens and drawings to show you all, and I am so excited!

First things first, my ponysona! This is Snow Day (any pronouns)! They are a young adult unicorn/mule with a heavily snowflake-patterned coat. She lives in Rainbow Falls (enjoying the cold weather between the Crystal Mountains and the Yaket Range), and makes her living via the yearly Trade Exchange and Hearth's Warming Craft Fair. He has yet to discover his special talent/cutie mark, but he doesn’t mind taking his time to find it, since he enjoys the hobbies he does for fun just as much.

My idiot ass ordered WRONG yarn, and only discovered it when I added grey stash yarn to the photo. 🤦🤦🤦

But no worries because this one has 17s/10cm instead of the initial 16s/10cm, and it's n-sw wool. It just doesn't have ⅓ alpaca, so it will be slightly less warm.

Also shoutout to addi unicorn needles. They are my new favorites, they are the best, and I say this as a person who usually hates metallic knitting needles. They look delicious, you don't need to pinch them hard (so they're easy for the hands= more knitting time), and the stitches move nicely.

Eta: The cloud can definitely not be done only with roosimine, I have to do it in colorwork and maybe add some 3D effect after I've blocked the sweater.

But otherwise my calculations work well with this yarn, chart's stitch shape is close enough to the real one (so the sun doesn't look too squished) and I'm sure i can make the embroidery work, because this was made in 5 minutes to better see the sun's shape.

And I probably have to finally learn invisible stranding (tikapuutekniikka). 😮‍💨 which will all in all make it look cleaner and more even.

Did family Christmas today! My mom got me bottle of olive oil and pepper spray and my dad got me a sweater with the star trek insignia (epic) and a pair of socks.

I also got an $8 pitcher shaped like a strawberry for myself bc I couldn't resist.
