Hey! This is purely me and my morbid curiosity asking, but you mentioned you buy in to the pregnancy stone oops baby Gon origin story more than an actual mother. Can you elaborate, even if it falls with what others may have already brought up? I'd love to get your take! (also, I sent a review of your chapter 4 hxhbb fic, but I think it might've been eaten!)

So, I do buy into it, somewhat! I think, for the time being, it's the best theory we have on Gon's parentage. There are a few interesting details related to it.

First off, Togashi included this woman with Ging in some of his early HxH concept drawings, from November 1997:

People have speculated that the woman next to Ging might be Gon's mother, however there isn't actually conclusive evidence of this--it's just a theory. It could also be an early design concept for Mito, Menchi, or one of the other female characters from the series, as the drawing isn't labeled with a name or description like some of the others. Or, she could be a scrapped concept even if she was intended at the time to be Gon's mother, as clearly this isn't finalized in any way.

However, of course within the series itself we have no info on who Gon's mother might be, and Togashi did bother to include the Pregnancy Stone card:

Now, an interesting connection with this is that Togashi is known to have read the BL manga Patalliro!, as he based Hiei's hair off one of the characters, Scunky:

There is also an unconfirmed but very reasonable theory that Killua may have been based in part of the character Maraich from Patalliro!, as the basis of both characters is similar and we know for a fact from the above image Togashi has read Patalliro!.

Now, how does this connect to the Pregnancy Stone theory? Well, Patalliro! also has mpreg as part of its storyline (with biologically male Maraich getting pregnant twice through unexplained means, with one of these pregnancies leading to a son), and considering Togashi may have used other elements from Patalliro! as inspiration... You can see where I'm going with this. I do think it's interesting he put the Pregnancy Stone card in the series to begin with, and there's also the Panda Maid card ("excellent at taking care of human children"), and Ging has used a panda plush as a substitute for himself in the Election arc. Coincidence? Hmmm...

My personal feelings now that I've laid all this info out are basically... I've talked a lot about how intentional Togashi's storytelling is and how much attention he pays to things, so I think he planted this knowing people would consider it a possibility, at the very least. We don't have any other theories about Gon's mom that have this much to go off of. It's possible he will reveal more info eventually and either make this more likely or explain Gon's origin in some other, totally different way, but for now I think this is compelling--there are enough pieces that it is a legitimate possibility.

I'm not someone who is interested in mpreg (or any kind of preg, for that matter, LOL), so I don't spend a lot of time thinking about this whole situation or the mechanics behind it, but I do think it would be pretty hilarious if this does canonically end up being Gon's origin story after all. Just such a wild way for Gon to come into existence. It'll be interesting to see if we ever get answers with regards to who/where Gon came from, whether it's by Pregnancy Stone or not.

It's a fun topic because it seems so goofy and farfetched initially, but the more you look at it, the more it's like, "Actually..." 🤔

Zukka weeks rejects

I just kept trying to make a Zukka as Dads picture work and it never did (or I drew / colored it too late). I also really wanted to write a fic for that day, but would you guess that my actual baby got in the way? She doesn’t want me to have time at night yet, oh well. Modern Unexplained MPreg AU (is that even allowed? Idk). Was going to feature Iroh as the Uncle Who Buys Too Much, Sokka with the baby bar trivia, and Zuko and Sokka getting into a fight over a dumb comment Zuko makes about his c-section scar. Maybe someday. Probably not.

I very briefly put up the Zuko Joins the Gaang early sketch before changing my mind. I do like some things about it. I probably should have used my smoother paper.

And the last one was just color experiments while listening in on a work call (which is when I do a lot of art - the rest is at night whilst bouncing the 5 month, especially the Joins the Gaang Early one, all mistakes I blame on my daughter; but she is so cute, who can be mad?). Zuko’s colors turned out kinda fun, Sokka’s less so.

    I've thinking about a Jegulily (Lily/James/Jegulus) A/B/O AU with spy Regulus (and maybe the Malfoys too) where pretty much everyone lives and Harry has lots of siblings, maybe more then Ron, and a few cousins from wolfstar.  

      I don't mind A/B/O fics. Sometimes, I seek 'em out. I don't like writing people like animals (which contradicts liking to read it). I don't really like the idea that people are unable to control themselves in heat/rut, the dismissal of Betas in general and the reliance on the smells and pheromones. But I do like the idea of nesting, and denning (Alpha nesting), as well as Mpreg and sometimes bonding bites depending on how it's written. I can write pregnant trans/gender-queer masculine-presenting men but I dislike glossing over the difficult emotional aspects of it. So, sometimes I just want to write relatively uncomplicated proud pregnant men. Yet, I like a general understanding of how the fictional universe works. So unexplained male 'carriers' doesn't satisfy me. The benefits of fanfic writing is the world is pre-set up and you can adjust to your own desires.

      I'd probably write the A/B/O aspect as an outdated thing found only in wizards. For convenience sake, that would put presentation around age 16-19 (late/end of puberty). There would be easily accessible potion suppressants to avoid strong and/or confusing scents and outdated instincts to make a pack and reproduce (vv common like no-scent workplaces). Bonding bites will die/not be completed if not desired by both/all mates and heats/ruts are mild (so mild people can usually function like girls on their period) until bonded (at which point the secondary gender within recognizes its security with (a) mate(s)) which can still be easily controlled and suppressed with medicines/potions. Like the 50's housewife being unemployed and a housekeeper, being unemployed and off suppressants is basically social code for 'my mate makes enough so I don't have to work and can be kept bare foot & pregnant in the house'. It's considered all of an entitlement and a privilege and a modernly outdated ideal. Sirius and Regulus would both be omegas and Blacks are known for producing alphas. Lily would likely be an Alpha and James a beta (a beta more on the alpha side when not around his alpha mate). Remus would be Sirius' alpha. Peter would be a beta (more on the omega side).

      Regulus status as spy was kept need-to-know so few of the order knew. None of the marauders knew until Regulus save them from Peter and Voldemort. Not that anyone got to process or thank or yell at him before he went on a mission to receive the locket horcrux which he survives because both Dumbledore and Krecher were with him.

      Things began to settle down after the war with Voldemort. Jily has another baby maybe. I imagine a large post-war generation living in economic prosperity like the real-world baby boom following the second world war. People would be lulled into a sense of security before Voldemort's return and the second wizarding war. I'm thinking it would be a semi-canon compliant/canon divergence AU but to be entirely honest, between work, school, social obligations and other tasks, I likely won't have the time to flush it out and actually write a fanfiction. Yet, the idea continues to form in my head so I've decided to share it with y'all.

      So, the first 10 years of Harry's life would be a huge divergence from canon and Harry himself would end up OOC compared to canon Harry. James and Sirius would support Slytherin!Harry (probably while making jokes and stuff but ultimately supportive). If Harry was raised by Regulus, which in this AU he is raised by Jegulily, he'd be confident about being a Slytherin. Either way, I'm 50/50 for Gryffindor or Slytherin Harry.

      I have this funny image of Regulus starting out as the sitter for the Potter kid(s) (It also serves as a reason for the Black brothers to be near each other and rebuild their relationship. Sirius would likely be hurt that Regulus didn't tell him he was a spy, letting him think the worst things, and it would likely present as anger.) It would take a while after they started for Regulus to realize he is being dated by the Potters who, knowing the Blacks are 'a bit' old fashioned, would insist on a proper courting before bedding and mating.

      I also imagine, in this AU, Draco would have a better chance to be good. Either because his parents were spies in an attempt to protect him from the life he'd had in canon or because Harry would be different and Sirius, the original Black sheep, wouldn't be in prison so he may have been presented an out to escape his parents if they were death eaters. He may not be good, but he'd have a better chance to be. Or to figure it out sooner.

      This is all I could type up at this moment and it covers the gist. Now either this idea will finally leave me alone or I've opened up a can of worms. If I expand in an additional post, it didn't go away. We'll see.

UPDATE: This site is shit. I'm not fighting with it. I have decided to add to this AU, probably on Wattpad or AO3 or, hell, I might go back to FFN. I'll update with something solid once I have it figured out. I'm willing to try a new fandom content-sharing sites/apps if there's suggestions.

HAPPY MPREG MONDAY

Edison and King lived and walked amongst a world of anomalies. People who possessed unique abilities and experiences of events beyond human comprehension. These men walked amongst such peculiarities as part of everyday life, and even in the world of normalized oddities, such the event between Edison and King would truly stand above all else, as a remarkable anomaly.

They loved each other for years, living a quaint life in the halls of the Foundation, chests bound with a heartfelt love, a lush life where each man thrived in the arms of one another. Beyond their community, their bond was unbreakable.

He wasn't sure when it began, Though the odd sensation within Edison stirred, a presence unexplained by anything normal. He remained in bed, turned, pulled closer to King who had remained asleep. He couldn't shake this feeling, but could not find himself to bother King over such a strange, trivial feeling.

This would loop for weeks, the strange feeling, the change in Edison's body. He grew taut, his body demanding foreign necessities, his mood rapidly tanking and jumping and above all else that remaining, sick feeling continued.

He found himself visiting a doctor, seeking help for an explanation as the king-hearted woman examined Edison, before quickly reaching her unorthodox diagnosis. King holding onto Edison's hand as he gripped tighter.

"Congratulations! You're pregnant!"

Such an announcement shocked both men, of course, any couple would be if their chances of conceiving had been as low as theirs. But King's love for Edison was unwaivered, and the concept of fatherhood began to grow rich within him. He adjusted with no struggle.

Months would pass, the progression of Edison's gestation had been smooth, without many complications. This, combined with an outpour of support from surrounding staff members, creating an overwhelmingly wonderful experience. The couple now left to eagerly wait for their child.

It was the midst of the afternoon when Edison went into labor, and though the details must be kept short, King stayed by his side for the process.

It had been the aftermath, as both men paused, not hearing the cry of their child, instead turning to see as a doctor held a miniature bonsai tree.

Confusion swelled within the men; they knew the pregnancy had been anomalous... but this was beyond their own imagination. But they did not let this bother them. if anything... at this point anomalies were the norm.

They were careful, finding the perfect pot to plant the miniature tree, tending to it with care and love, just as they would any normal child. It was an offhanded mention between Edison to King, bringing up in passing how he loved how small the tree was... how he wished it to stay tiny.

It seemed aware of this.

It remained tiny, a small stature with a subtle awareness. Despite not speaking or moving, King could not help but feel a profoundly deep connection to his child. At first, he had not the attachment to the small tree, as Edison had. Maybe it was the fact that Edison had been the man that carried, but he could not deny that with each day, as he cared for the tree, loved for it... there was indeed a bond. The tree was silent and its presence in their lives created an increase in contentment, tranquility that possessed them. A profound happiness.

Years could pass and the bonsai remained tiny. nestled happily in its pot, the care continuing, sweet whispers of love and joy. King's heart warming to his child, just as Edison had. An unconventional family, but a family, nonetheless.

Almost always! Some fics wouldnt exist at all without them. My current UNIT Vampire AU is being deliberately shaped by reader responses, although some of those have come from Discord rather than direct comments.

In my opinion it would be the remastered "A Domino of Headstones" which, needs nust, concludes with Sarah Jane's death.

Ever at all was a Blakes 7 / Five Doctors crossover where Avon was snatched from the final seconds of 'Blake' and dropped into the death zone. it was illustrated too and absolutely awful but I was 8.

First thing that turned up online would have been tie in fiction to my local Star Trek RPG group USS Basilisk.

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

In all honesty once I have purged the plot from my system they vanish from my memory. I occasionally get kudos from long posted fics and surprise myself by going to read what the fuss was about!

James's Special Delivery: James Conquers His Fear of Marriage with Meowth (part three of three)

James and his mother had been writing each other letters and calling each other.

James and Meowth had quit Team Rocket. They started selling legal drugs and were making a surprising amount of money. James would keep his kitten.

Bethany knew about James’s kitten. She was okay with it.

James was eight (out of nine) weeks pregnant. His mother was coming to visit their cabin.

James and Meowth were trying to save for a very small wedding. They were planning on using a wedding dress and a Meowth-sized tuxedo from their disguises.

“I’m going to look just awful in white,” James said. He wasn’t even showing that much, since Meowth kittens were smaller than human babies. He was showing a little, though, enough that he could hardly move fast.

Meowth almost wished James would give birth early. He hated to see James so uncomfortable. He decided James should stand up as little as possible.

The kitten was moving around a lot inside of James, which was a pretty weird feeling for him. He thought the kitten might be trying to come out early. He read a book about what to expect when “expecting.” It said having sex could induce labor. He grabbed Meowth and ran into the bedroom.

“Meowth, please have sex with me,” James said.

“Why?” Meowth asked.

“Because having sex might make me go into labor,” James said.

“I don’t think you’re in any condition to have sex. And you’re only eight weeks through it. That would only work if you were overdue,” Meowth said.

James collapsed onto the bed. “I’m worried,” he said.

“About what?” Meowth said.

“I’m worried about if I’ll be a good parent.”

“You’ll probably make a good parent,” Meowth said, massaging James’s feet. He pressed his paw into James’s finely arched soles and rubbed his slender toes.

“Maybe you’re right,” James breathed.

“You kinda already sound like you’re in labor,” Meowth said.

James moved to a more comfortable position. “Maybe I’m just hot and bothered,” he said. He lowered his eyelids, trying to look sexy. He let out a falsetto giggle. “My mother is coming tomorrow. She’d have a fit if she walked in on us right now.”

Meowth stroked James’s hair. “She knows about the kitten, right?” he asked.

“Yes, I wrote her about it,” James said.

They sat on the bed for a while.

“Did you still want to have sex?” Meowth asked.

“Yes, I’m pretty hormonal,” James said.

They closed the bedroom door.

The next day, James’s mother came. As soon as she came in, she and James hugged. She could only stay for one night. She had to go back to work the next day. She didn’t have to work, but she chose to.

James cooked dinner for everyone. He made sure to make extra food.

After dinner, he and Bethany went into his bedroom. James confessed about being worried when Bethany asked him why he wasn’t more enthusiastic.

“You’re really lucky you love Meowth,” Bethany said.

“I suppose,” James said.

“Why aren’t you excited?” Bethany asked.

“I’m just so nervous. I’m afraid I won’t be a good parent to the kitten.”

“Of course you’ll be a good parent. You may be a former Team Rocket member, but you do have parental instincts. You’ve got what a lot of people don’t have these days: a good heart. Stay true to yourself and your kitten and you’ll be fine.”

James had broken down in tears. “Oh, Mother. I wish we could’ve been this close sooner,” he cried.

Bethany hugged James.

“Now, about what you’re going to name the kitten….”

The next day, Bethany had to leave. James and Meowth waved from the porch as she drove away.

They went inside. James felt a strange movement inside of him.

“Meowth….the kitten is kicking harder,” James said.

Meowth put a paw on James’s stomach.

“Wow. The kitten is pretty active today.”

James put a hand on Meowth’s paw. It seemed as if the kitten would come out at any time.

James was well over nine weeks pregnant with the kitten.

He wasn’t showing as much as he would with a human baby, but he still felt like he was carrying a Voltorb in his shirt.

One morning, Meowth was trying to help James get up.

“It’ll be fine, Meowth. I can manage,” James said. He suddenly felt a sharp flash of pain. He doubled over, clutching his stomach.

“Are you okay?” Meowth asked.

“I think I’m in labor,” James panted.

“Stay in bed, Jimmy,” Meowth tried to sound calm.

James shifted into a sitting position and breathed deeply. A few hours later, James gave birth to a tiny Meowth kitten.

“It’s a girl,” James said.

“What’s her name?” Meowth asked. He bit off the kitten’s umbilical cord.

“Her name is Methesia,” James said.

“That’s pretty,” Meowth said. He put the placenta on a plate. He and James could make a breakfast for two out of it.

James wiped away his tears as he brought Methesia to his bosom and nursed her. He had to be strong for his kitten.

The next day, James and Meowth got married. They held the ceremony in their backyard.

James put on his white dress and wove tiny white roses into his hair. He wasn’t a virgin, but as a former member of Team Rocket, he didn’t care about rules.

James stood by the window. This was it. He was about to tie the knot with Meowth. He thought Jessiebelle had scared him away from marriage for life.

He briefly thought about how a character in a movie made a rope out of sheets tied together and climbed out of a window. He immediately banished that thought.

“I have to be strong for Meowth and Methesia,” James thought. “I can’t think about the past.”

He looked in the mirror, checking his appearance. He had something old (his dress, from one of their disguises), something new (he’d just gotten a new bottlecap), something borrowed (he’d borrowed a slip from Jessie), and something blue (his hair).

“You look just fine,” a voice said.

James turned around. “Mother!”

Bethany hugged James. “You’re going to be a beautiful bride to Meowth and a great parent to your kitten,” she said.

“Thank you, Mother,” James said, wiping away tears.

Bethany went to sit down with the other guests (Jessie and Mondo). James stood quietly, waiting for his cue. He took a deep breath.

As he walked down the aisle, he knew even though he was scared, he had to do it.

He had to be strong for the kitten and Meowth.

Moral of the story: Team Rocket members don't care about virginity and placenta makes a great romantic breakfast for you and your cat-husband.

One of my favorite fanfics is misty dream by corviids. If you read the story then you know that Luke has the ability to get pregnant but it’s not an a/b/o story.

Once again nothing wrong with that. But, while I believe to be wrong I saw a comment asking how it was possible for Luke to be pregnant or in getting pregnant. Corviids themselves put a note in the newest chapter explaining that but since your writing a story on abo I decided to come to you.

Is it really wrong to go that way when writing your OWN story. I mean, does it really have to be an abo story for your characters to have the ability to get pregnant? Is it like breaking some sort of unspoken rule where if you were to break it you’re offending someone else?

Please once more I don’t mean any disrespect with this. I’m genuinely curious as to know why this is some sort of issue. And not speaking of misty dream but I’ve read countless of other stories where this is an actual issue but specifically when it comes to male pregnancy and the story is not abo.

Hi anon! I don’t find this question rude and hope I can answer in a way that's clear I’m expressing my own thoughts and opinions, which you seem to be asking for, and that I'm not trying to tell anyone else what to do.

First and foremost, no, I don't think it's wrong to do *anything* in a story actually, because in the end it's fiction. If you properly tag things, people have no legit reason to complain about what they decided to click on and read. You don't have to justify anything beyond that. 'Don't Like Don't Read' is the gospel of ao3, I will always hold to it and encourage others to do the same.

Now, your further questions center around a curiosity as to why some people don't like unexplained mpreg. I know there's plenty who can't stand mpreg point blank, and always filter out that tag (which is why I always tag it even if it's only mentioned in my fics), and then some who only like it when explained as part of an a/b/o verse.

It certainly is a thought experiment as to why. Personally? I think the reason some people don't enjoy unexplained mpreg as much is because, while it is wish-fulfillment for some, to others it can sometimes feel like putting a 'heteronormative bandaid' so to speak on a queer ship--as it's very different even from a trans person getting pregnant, at least in my opinion. That can really knock me out of the story (though it may be a healing fantasy for others, i'm sure). I'm not offended--I just don't enjoy it usually.

(Anyone who feels truly offended by such a thing when they could be offended by like ANY of the real world problems we have should rethink their priorities 😂)

On the other hand, omegaverse can sometimes feel more in touch with the queer experience. Usually there is some minority and/or stigma still with being omega male or alpha female, for instance. It often involves other queer experiences too--presenting suddenly and often traumatically as alpha/omega can resonate with those who experienced body dysmorphia during puberty, and dealing with rigid societal relationship/gender roles is relatable to everyone but definitely those who are gay and/or trans.

I think heats/ruts also can resonate somewhat as a queer fantasy; both are like a cathartic release of the character's pent up sexual desire and feelings that they haven't allowed themselves to indulge in or society has barred them from, and then BOOM there is (often) no choice anymore. Being forced to accept one's sexual desire during heat/rut is not dissimilar to the tipping point many queer people have in their journey of self-acceptance, and so is yet another detail that makes the whole strange omega-canon resonate with queerness still.

(Sorry, you asked the a/b/o author this question, so you get to hear me wax poetic about omegaverse for a second 😂)

Personally, even just a small magical spell/curse/biological anomaly explanation can make mpreg enjoyable for me, but I'm not everybody. Plenty of (queer or not) people don't like mpreg at all, fantastically explained or not, and it's not your job to please everyone. There's nothing offensive about making any fictional character pregnant without explanation! It may not be everyone's cup of tea--but that doesn't mean you have to change your story. Especially among lucemond shippers, I doubt it will stop you from getting readership. And if someone jumps into your comments telling you how to write, tell them where to stick it!

I regret to inform you that it gets significantly wackier.

I spent the first half of season three fully expecting a one-armed, one-legged Abel Gideon to show up, riding the social worker’s horse.

There’s one episode that would’ve been greatly improved by the unexplained addition of David Lynch walking in, yelling about coffee (Twin Peaks s2 style).

…and in the episode that follows that one, I sincerely thought for a second they were about to invoke mpreg; and even though I am not an mpregthusiast, I actually think that, tonally, it would’ve made more sense than what followed instead.

There’s also a whole-ass arclet and character whose existence I choose to interpret as proof-positive Will Graham was one of the minority of patients who turned out to have really needed a second dose of rituximab to cure his auto-immune encephalitis.

(This is why we keep 👏 our 👏 neurologist appointments👏👏, people. Cause otherwise, we start hallucinating attractive women with long-rage weapons and completely inscrutable character motivations.)

It does get a lot more governed-by-the-bounds-of-reality in the second half (which, after the utter camp nonsense that preceded it, is an abrupt tonal shift that I found somewhat jarring); but most people really seem to like it, and the series finale is a very good ending.
