Actua Sports Series (1998-2007) End of the Gremlin Era ⚽🏒 🎱⛳ 

After Infogrames acquired Gremlin in 1999, the Actua brand faded, though spiritual successors like UEFA Challenge and PGA European Tour Golf were released under the Infogrames label. In 2002, Zoo Digital acquired the Premier Manager franchise, later re-releasing select Actua Sports titles under the "Zoo Classics" budget range.

In 2004 the series did receive another release with Pool:shark 2 releasing for the PS2, Xbox and Windows this was a sequel to Actua Pool which released back in 1999, Actua Pool also released under the titles Ultimate 8 Ball and Pool:shark.

In 2007 a port of Actua Pool was released for the Nintendo DS, this re-release was titled Underground Pool for it's North American release. Several games in the Actua Sports series have also been re-released on Steam in 2022, these include Actua Soccer, Actua Soccer 2, Actua Golf, Actua Ice Hockey, Actua Ice Hockey 2 and Actua Tennis.

A planned revival of Actua Poker in 2013 was announced but never materialized. Despite its eventual decline, Actua Sports remains a significant part of 1990s gaming history, remembered for its innovation in sports simulation.

Actua Sports Series

Actua Sports was a sports video game series developed by Gremlin Interactive in the 1990s, aiming to rival EA Sports. The name "Actua" was a play on Sega's "Virtua" branding. The series began with Actua Soccer in 1995, notable for its fully 3D graphics, a first for home console football games. Expanding beyond football, Gremlin introduced Actua Golf in 1996, followed by Actua Tennis and Actua Ice Hockey in 1998. The series was known for its realistic gameplay and motion-captured animations, often collaborating with professional athletes to enhance authenticity.
