You kept running; the only thing on your minds was that you had to escape; if you didn't, then the Sentinels would catch them. You still didn't know what would happen if that happened; you had had no communication with anyone about what the Sentinels had caught.

The X-men no longer existed; now where would there be a safe place for mutants?

Finally, after a couple of hours, you found a place where you could hide. It did not seem very safe, so you had to make several modifications to be able to condition it and try to make it as close to the home you used to have as possible.

"I'm sorry about James," you said to John.

"He has always been like that; I knew that sooner or later he was going to sacrifice himself, but I didn't think that so soon...

"I know he was always trying to protect us; we have lost a great member...

"Am I interrupting something?" Lorna asked with a playful little smile.

"No, we were just remembering James," you answered, and the smile disappeared from Lorna's face.

"Do you need anything?" John questioned her after a few minutes of awkward silence.

"Marcos and I were checking out the place; maybe we could set up here, but we will need to make some modifications so we can be safe," "Lorna informed.

"We also need to look for the others, as well as other mutants; we are all useful in some way or another."

Slowly, you were able to rehabilitate the place; it definitely didn't look anything like Mansion X, nor did you have the same technology, but none of that mattered; it was your home now.

You saw the old photos; that first place after you had to flee from the mansion no longer existed; the Sentinels had destroyed it. Not counting all the casualties, you had, you missed Sonia. Whenever you had nightmares, you went to her.

You were waiting for me to return from the confrontation against Reeva. It was indescribable what you felt when they started telling about Reed's sacrifice.

A couple of nights later, you reunited; the Sentinel program and the Accords had been cancelled, and the Purifiers were also being tried for your crimes.

You began to talk about what you were going to do—everything you would like to do—you were finally free, yet an emptiness was felt; without hesitation, you would have liked all mutants to be there and be able to live such bliss—all those you considered your family, the family that a few had taken from them.

"You know. I keep telling everybody they should move on and grow. Some do. But not us." John suddenly said

"I miss Mansion X and all the adventures we had..." you started to say, but your voice broke.

In the last five years, you had lived through horrible things—running away, hiding, and countless other things—and it seemed implausible to be able to have a relatively normal life or as close to what it was before all the chaos broke out.

"Well, now we can do whatever we want. Our Aurora will grow up happy and normal," Marcos commented.

"There's nothing normal about Dawn's parents," you whispered, causing everyone to laugh. You still didn't understand how Lorna had fallen in love with Marcos.

You kept joking until something distracted you.

"Y/N? Is something wrong?" Clarice called you.

"Steve Rogers is coming to get us," you said, still staring blankly.

"What does he want?" John questioned.

"Our help."

Rip to that poor soul they never stood a chance! A nosey nelly wandered a bit to close to the lair and Leo, too high strung after a mission gone wrong, acted hastily fearing it was an enemy. This action will have consequences…

Magneto and Polaris talk shop

Honestly, this feels like an odd thing for Lorna to ask - and especially to ask of Magneto. It's always nice to see them together, but it feels like this was a discourse Hickman wanted and chose these two. I think it would have been more interesting to reverse the roles. Then again, these two have definitely suffered a lot from humans as a sociological group. Genosha is a big one, the Holocaust.

It's really just a setup for the introduction of the Five anyway. This feels like so long ago for me now, but I can still remember how blown my mind was. 'Goldballs! TF? Proteus lives! Tempus, where have you been, my fellow Australian?'

He's right there man, Goldballs can probably hear you.

Elixir! No longer gold or black. Hope! Back from obscurity! Polaris' next question is a more interesting one - 'aren't they just clones?' For some reason this was a fandom argument for quite a while when it was answered in House of X.

I do wish Mags and Lorna's relationship received more attention during the First Krakoan Age. X-Factor did a little and would have done more but was cancelled for reasons I'll never know. He scolded her for drinking and hanging out with Havok (fair) at the first Gala, but after that we only got her being affected by his death and overjoyed he was alive (and team up to kill Nimrod.) Maybe they just don't have a super close relationship, or don't gel well socially - but it's not hard to put that on the page.

Haha, Havok is jealous of Dog Boy.

Right now Lorna is more extreme politically than Magneto is, being a member of the Mutant Underground and in explicit conflict with the US military. The US military is a global oppressor and predator with a terrible mutant record - you'd think they'd have a lot to say to each other. Not to mention supporting each other during a period of trauma for all, plus apparently one of risk. Lorna died once that we saw - at the hands of The Morrigan - I'd expect Mags to warn her. Mags' mobility is restricted by disability and geographic isolation, but they both have phones, probably.

Part of being a Lorna fan is living with disappointment, but as books start to interact with each other hopefully we'll see them interact.

Sonic Underground: the Bounty Hunters

The former independent contractors were so screwed over lol

Notes

Married, though the two aren't exactly public with this knowledge given their line of work

partial roboticization was Robotnik's warning to the two after their initial failure to capture the Triplets

the two were rather well known in their field before being forced to work for robotnik

not in charge of/responsible for anything outside of catching the Sonic Underground, while also making sure their competition doesn't get to the brats first

this leads to the rare team ups as they'd rather "loose" in the short team and let the Sonic Underground run off free than let the other bounty hunters get them first

they have a kid who is staying with Sleet's older sister until th contracts up

Sleet

is more involved in the fights, he gives long distance assistance role with his rifle and grapple

brains of the operation, he tends to be the one who selects which missions/bounty's the two take on

hates working for Robotnik- not because he minds doing the dirty work, but because they don't get paid nearly the amount they normally would and are explicitly forbidden from taking on more contracts until the Sonic Underground are caught and roboticized

shapeshifting remote doesn't shapeshift Dingo but helps him restore him to his Default form if he gets stuck (which happens more and more often when Dingo is stressed out)

Sonia is not crushed on (that was justs blegh) but openly admired as one of the few opponents strong enough to "properly take him on in a brawl"

Notes about the Notes

Although "All Hallow's Thieves" is technically the first and only 2003's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode to take place on Halloween, it's not the first time the show has delved into the 'horror movie' motif. That would be "Notes From the Underground" Parts 1-2-3.

4Kids' version of TMNT made it clear from episode 1 that this would be a much more darker and more intense Ninja Turtles experience (Compared to the legacy of the 1987 'toon), "Notes From The Underground" really pushed the creepy factor to 5 (out of 5)

i was rereading somerandomdudelmao comic (again lol) so the hair matches more in that comic than algae like in the original design

i just...kept tinkering and adding to it and playing around with CSP brushes

would like to do the crypid version but i'm not good with drawing spooky stuff so i put all my self-indulgence in this

Sonic Underground Reprise: Dingo's Disguises

exploring how dingo's transformation would work

can't change colors, but can take on the aspects of the species

best at maintaining canine forms for long term but he can transform into pretty much anything if briefly

can't take on "special" abilities unique to an individual he copies, like if he transformed into Sonic he couldn't get get his super speed

BUT he does take on the species aspects- a tiger's night vision, a rabbit's high jump, that kind of thing

all of his forms retain his base strength and intelligence

some of these forms have established reputations of their own, most notably Lady Penelope, also known "the Blade of Hera"

Diseases are a common scourge within the walls of the Garns of UPR. And though humanity has adapted over the centuries, preventing past-scale tragedies, local outbreaks still bring grief to families.

And no matter how much the local people curse the runaways from IPC, they brought with them knowledge and skills—including those in medicine. Not every UPR citizen dares to seek aid from fiends and demons, but the most desperate among them generously feed this relatively new, yet thriving, underground medical trade.

Adventure came to UPR precisely because she believed that, by bringing along certain developments from her previous work, she could establish herself well. And while reality turned out to be far harsher than expected, her business finally flourished after Turbo's arrival—much to the grinding teeth of one maned wolf.
