Undercover Smolder Mulder: Pine Bluff Variant Fic Recs

I'd describe Pine Bluff Variant as a low key fan favorite, an episode that I even feel like appreciation has grown for over the years. Oh sure, it doesn’t get the fan love that a Memento Mori or Pusher might, but we sure do see those Mulder Scully intense looks gifs popping up pretty often, right? Plus, it has partner trust angst, undercover intrigue, hurt/comfort, genuine thriller-style suspense, and serious MSR overtones.

I like PBV for all of those reasons obviously, but also because it feels like the show going with a slightly different tone. Starting from its action-based, FBI operation cold open, we know this is more conspiracy / bioterrorist thriller than classic X-file. Yes, there’s a sci fi component to the biotoxin--and the scenes that reveal its victims have a horror feel--but this episode just isn’t as much about the supernatural. It also raises the interesting--and nowadays more pointed--question: aren’t anti-government groups operating under their own rules sometimes potentially as dangerous as the government itself?

TXF tried several kinds of experiments in its later seasons, in production and structure of show (Triangle or X-Cops), in exploring all kinds of playful, self-aware and satirical comedy (lots of season 6, Hollywood A.D., etc.), in making drastic moves with its mytharc (One Son, Requiem, etc). Going in the direction of a more purely action-suspense thriller for a MOTW wasn’t something they ever tried again (that I can think of anyway). And I think that's kind of a shame? It feels like a good change up. Different without messing too much with the show’s basic DNA.

Not to mention, y'all, Scully thinks he betrayed her! And there's the scene with the finger! And Mulder thinks he's going to die! There's so much good stuff here!

Calling Bluffs - mangokiwitropicalswirl An angsty little post ep that doesn’t flinch from the way coming close to death affects Mulder (or Scully). It also raises the question of how much their bond always puts them at risk. Moving ending.

Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before - pinebluffvariant Immediately post ep, Scully protects Mulder. There is some satisfying hurt/comfort. But what really shines in this fic is the ending, which ties a nice bow on season 5 and kicks me in the feels. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, indeed: sniff.

Passing Solace - DarlaBlack An intensely romantic NC-17 scene set in the middle of the episode, focused on their deep care and need for one another. Beautifully written.

All of This (around) Us - secondsflat In this sweet fic they share whiskey before Scully sets his finger bone, and Scully voices her frustration at not knowing about his undercover work. An intimate, atmospheric little scene.

Snakebitten - onpaperfirst This is a riff on all of season 5 written with great skill and subtlety. So, so good. It’s canon divergent in that it seeds the Pine Bluff Variant / New Spartans storyline back earlier in the season—and it has more RST. Such a treat.

Postcards Slipped Under the Door - skuls Two years after Pine Bluff Variant, some time after the events of En Ami in season 7, Mulder begins receiving ominous postcards from the New Spartans, suggesting they have regrouped. Skinner and Scully think it’s too dangerous for him to get involved in the case again, so Scully goes instead. This is hard on Mulder, as they’re in a recently begun relationship. Angsty, plot-driven, satisfying.

After much struggling, Brasidas is finally done!

Unlike Alexios, Kassandra, and Phoibe, Brasidas didn’t really need a younger design (I might go back later, but I think it’s not necessary to the story). Instead I went with a “mercenary” design for undercover work, since I have him doing a bit more of that than in canon. His regular armor is just a bit too recognizable for spy work lmao

His primary armor is obviously based on his canon armor, but I mixed it with some other pieces of concept art. The “mercenary” armor is based on the Odysseus set with a hint of Spartan Renegade I think. I had initially planned on going with green (complementary colors and all) but it was fighting me. Blue looked good, but also too Athenian though so I landed in the middle.

I love a good identity reveal, so Brasidas (along with the majority of other key characters) spends a decent part of the story not knowing who Alexios and Kassandra really are. He knows that he isn’t getting the whole truth, Alexios is pretty upfront with that, but the longer they know each other the more it causes issues.

okay listen. i'm going to try really hard but i am 90% sure i love what you hate about it. i honestly don't know what anyone expected when they asked about certain episodes BUT i know my hope was to maybe help people see it a little differently. but i guess we'll see

honestly season five is so rough for mulder & scully, and this definitely happens at a crazy time. after cancer, emily, and cassandra. over & over scully is faced with her abduction and what was done to her, for her role on the x files & in mulder's life. they maintained silence in never again and throughout the cancer arc, and after...mulder isn't ready. he doesn't know how to give scully what she wants (once again saying i don't think their feelings are in question, like ever). but mulder still has lessons to learn.

pbv is another way mulder loves people. he doesn't trust his government, but he would never aid terrorists. especially not ones killing civilians. it's shortly after he was struggling deeply with his beliefs, his guilt. the way he's been played.

he's contacted by the new spartans and he takes the information to skinner. consequently, mulder goes undercover and becomes part of a bigger operation but he's ordered not to tell scully. i think this is something people struggle with, but i just think it makes perfect sense. maybe questionable on skinner's, the fbi's, cia's etc end. but to mulder, he understands this a dangerous and delicate situation. mulder has a history of trying to protect scully. sometimes by keeping information from her, sometimes bodily. and i just can't be mad at him. the moment scully knows, mulder is more at risk and literally thinks he is walking to his death.

from the beginning of the episode, scully is on the task force. she's hypervigilant of the danger mulder is in. the moment she can't see him, she goes running after him, as skinner yells her name trying to stop her. she witnesses mulder letting haley get away. she can't make sense of it, and when she confronts mulder with this information, he doesn't give her any answers. he avoids her. and the truth is, mulder couldn't have done anything differently because he would have cracked. the way scully can't lie to him because he always knows, he can't lie to her either. and he can't tell her.

i love scully doing her own side investigation, following mulder, getting his fake name. "are you the wife?" "not even close." and this is part of the struggle. they're partners, they're not married. but they share a lot more than partners.

as soon as scully gets too close, mysterious men in black run her off the road and take her to skinner & leamus. she quips at the silent men "obviously not the office of information" and i LOVE that about her. if mulder was there, he would have been laughing. giving her that smile & dreamy gaze. anyway. she yells at leamus & skinner, for having these men run her off the road. (she's been there before and it was much more sinister, in irresistible. but it also happened in deep throat, where these other government agents assaulted mulder.)

i always love when scully tells off men, especially above her rank. so many times, she's spoken freely with skinner. telling him he overestimates his power, that closing melissa's investigation is in someone's interest, just not his or hers. and here is just so similar to me, but now they've put her partner in danger -- it's her job to have his back -- by keeping her out of the loop. she forced their hand.

i also think this episode is a huge lesson for skinner. he's been slowly coming to their side since his first episode, tooms. as soon as scully is more included, skinner sees more behind the curtain. he's a military man, and he follows orders. but there's always been something inside of him, especially since overseeing the x files with mulder & scully reporting to him, that wanted to question things. they are his proxy for this and he does try to help them -- but he also won't be able to help them the same if he wasn't assistant director.

scully goes to mulder's apartment to wait for his return, sitting there in the dark. reminiscent of mulder waiting in her apartment in redux. i always love these little moments!! he's injured and afraid and he tells her to get out, but she's calm and she expected this reaction. she won't budge, tells him she knows. she doesn't question why he didn't tell her, because she understands. it doesn't mean she's happy about it, but i think she's much more angry with skinner & leamus, rightfully so. i know mulder isn't one to follow orders exactly, but this is a very different situation. he doesn't have experience with terrorism. that's not his hat, and he needs to follow orders. he may not care about himself the way scully wants him to, but he also isn't trying to die at this point. this isn't one of his reckless missions. this isn't his truth, but he absolutely cares about saving people. he doesn't want anyone else to die at the hands of these terrorists.

scully tells him they killed more people, and he goes to meet with skinner & leamus -- skinner is immediately suspicious when leamus "planned for this" and has files ready. mulder immediately looks to skinner at this too. and when scully calls skinner to talk about how the toxin was distributed, and what it is...she asks skinner to take her off speaker before she'll tell him. i don't think skinner was questioning leamus until scully came on. i just fucking love these three so much. mulder & scully see things that others don't, or maybe what skinner in particular is afraid to question. i think scully & skinner are similar this way, but scully started asking these questions in season one. after mulder posed them to her in the pilot and she didn't have answers. after seeing what mulder really does, seeing how people treat mulder. scully immediately started incorporating these suspicions into her worldview, her work. and now mulder & scully do this for skinner. and much like mulder & scully, skinner does not escape personally unscathed by the conspiracy. they try to kill him, ruin his reputation & destroy his job. but...these are risks he's willing to take. he told mulder in one breath he was responsible for what happened to scully too. skinner has understood the risks since then, and mulder has tried to protect her even more after that. but the thing is, i think scully understood the risks in e.b.e. when she found the bug in the pen, and then mulder found one in his apartment. but truthfully, mulder only got close once scully joined the x files. that's when the true dangers began to unfold. they learned them together. anyway.

mulder walking to his death with no escape, because bremmer outs him to the new spartans with a recording of mulder & scully talking in his apartment. i think about if scully knows this happened, because it would kill her. bremmer letting mulder go, killing the guy who broke mulder's finger instead...and haley too.

scully recognizing mulder by his finger and getting to the money in time. mulder racing back to the bank. immediately scully is trying to ease mulder's panic, telling him the toxin may have come from our government, mulder concluding he was set up. skinner trying to tell them they don't have hard evidence of that (mostly i think to try to calm them down). leamus claiming they're wrong and the money was cleared. and scully LOSES it on this man. "you knew about this all along!" literally screaming in his face. she is fierce. she's been fierce this entire episode, and so has mulder honestly. their shared values are shining through, even as they were divided. but in the end, they were always on the same page. they get to the bottom of it when they're both on the case, and skinner did his best to back them up & protect mulder from the position he was forced into.

After finding out that Bucky was going to be working for Val due to getting a job within the surface area of their skill set, he was contemplating on getting a cut of the salary himself.

He knew Liz would kill him and some of his friends would talk him out of it, but he willing to look into the matter. Heck, he wouldn’t be surprised if someone else decided to take the opportunity as well.

Contract negotiations, gathering intel using his weapons, undercover investigations, shootings down targets and going unpunished for the job, not too bad.

He has done work similar like that before one point in his life, where he was considered a HitMan, to some degree for a short period of time. Not his favorite part, having done a few contract kills but he did it.

However before he could even make a decision, he got a call from an old ally that there was a targeted group of mischief running rampant down the road in Atlanta, Georgia. His first response was that it was Liane, Rick and Luna causing mayhem again—but then he remembered they were at home with him.

“Ah shit…” he muttered getting more of the description of the situation and the location.

Soon enough, he found himself in Val’s room getting tangled in a pile of offers and uses, watching the woman trying to pull the strings here. He stood his ground and shook his head unfazed saying, he’ll go in for one trip only, get paid for the job and get out.

The woman scoffed but smirked immediately, knowing that she can use him for the sake of getting an attack ordered.

Of course, Jason rolled his eyes hearing about John Walker and snickering knowing he can try to scare the man by his entrance. The others he was actually intrigued by, having heard of and encountered the others before such as—Ghost and Yelena.

Imagine John Walkers face when bullets started ramming against the windows of the car and he was screaming at Alexei, only to find the person shooting was Jason Underwood ;)

And then Bucky added the cherry on top by blasting the car. It was priceless.

Happy birthday to Captain Veronica Dare!

Today is her -492nd birthday!

Dare was born on Actium and enlisted with the UNSC, eventually joining the Office of Naval Intelligence. During the Battle of Mombasa, Dare was given command of a squad of ODSTs for a classified mission. The squad--Alpha Nine--was lead by Edward Buck, whom she'd crossed paths with before.

Dare met Buck while on shore leave seven years prior, and the two shared a brief affair. Buck had hopes that their relationship could develop into something more serious, but those hopes were dashed when he learned that she was affiliated with ONI, leading to concerns about his ability to trust her due to ONI's reputation as underhanded and manipulating. Thus, they parted ways, and they did not see one another again until a mission on Belisk six years later, and then at the Battle for Earth a year after that.

Dare did not reveal her mission to Alpha-Nine before she took control of the squad: they believed they were supposed to infiltrate and destroy the Covenant carrier Solemn Penance. During the drop, she ordered Alpha-Nine to divert their descent, avoiding the ship and landing in New Mombasa. Alpha-Nine was scattered after the crash, with Dare continuing her mission to the Superintendent's data center. Eventually, the squad was able to regroup, and Dare revealed her true mission: she was supposed to gather information on the portal at Voi, and discovered a Huragok named Quick to Adjust in the process. These organic artificial intelligences contained a wealth of knowledge about the Forerunners and the Covenant, which Dare quickly realized would be invaluable to the UNSC. Dare and Alpha-Nine were eventually able to escape the city with Quick to Adjust in tow.

After the war's end, Dare and Buck decided to spend shore leave together again, as they did whenever their schedules allowed, only to be interrupted by Jun-A266, a SPARTAN-III who was now in charge of Spartan recruitment. Jun asked Buck to joined the Spartans, and he initially declined. But after a mission to Draco-III against the United Rebel Front lead to the death of Jonathan Doherty, his squadmate, Alpha-Nine disbanded and Buck joined the SPARTAN program alongside Mickey and Romeo. Later, Buck would discover that Micky had defected to the URF, and he was arrested and held at a secret SPARTAN training facility.

During the Created conflict, Dare would ask Buck to re-establish Alpha-Nine to assist her in convincing an URF-controlled colony to share technology that could be used against the Guardians. To do this, she wanted Buck to enlist Micky's help. Though he was reluctant, Buck broke Mickey out of confinement and Dare and Alpha-Nine traveled to Hole in the Wall, where she was able to negotiate sharing the technology. Shortly thereafter, the colony was attacked by a Guardian. As they evacuated, Buck confessed to Dare that he regretting never marrying her. The squad was taken onto Infinity, where Dare called Buck's bluff and dared him to follow through on his desire to marry her. He agreed, and they were married moments later by Roland, the ship's AI.

After Operation: WOLFE, Fred gave Dare a message from Veta Lopis and the Ferrets, explaining that they were undercover and infiltrating the Keepers of the One Freedom. Lopis' message warned the UNSC of the return of Atriox and his plans for the Ark. It is unknown if Dare was onboard the Infinity when it was attacked by the Banished.

In canon (~2560), she is turning 45!

And his posture- just the way he holds himself. He’s creepy. He’s a version of Joe Goldberg that stole his grandmas sweater that’s his undercover outfit. The sweater is literally his baseball cap. Is that enough? Or should I keep going about his grandmas sandals she got during 1 AD? Those sandals saw Jesus they were there on resurrection day. Practices celibacy as a religion. That’s fucking Tom 2.0 mixed with Zac Efron. He looks like he came out of fucking Baywatch. Been staring at Pamela Anderson’s tits. Got a knock-off Rolex. Most definitely swings both ways. I want to cut off his manbun when he’s sleeping… like half these tattoos don’t make any sense. He probably has shorty tattooed on his dick and it probably still says shorty when it’s erect. At least his chin isn’t square like Ozzy’s. This guy is weird looking and his tattoos give me the heebie jeebies. He’s a fucking dumpster rat. He’d be the king’s jester and wear clown makeup. Tries to juggle three balls- can’t find them. Lana wears darker armor such as grey or black to blend in better, most of her missions tend to take her undercover or in places she would rather not be caught in. Before being a Spartan-IV, she was an ODST that worked under ONI in section 3, she worked with Jameson Locke and his team more often than any other but even then those missions were brief and quick. Most of her files are redacted, including her current assignment.

Okay but how much of a ship needs to survive for the shipboard AI to still function?

The status of the Infinity is, officially, unknown. Yes, we know she lost to the Banished. Yes, we know the Banished did massive damage.

But did they completely destroy the ship? How much of her is still intact?

Is Roland stuck, effectively floating, unable to ping anyone or help or find out the status of his crew? Can he see but not help? Or is he blind and deaf, detached, running through endless scenarios to try to keep himself from rampancy?

How much of a ship needs to be intact for the AI to survive?

An AI really doesn't need much to survive, they're just plugged into the ship. The chip that houses the AI is the important thing.

We've seen Cortana on the Forward Unto Dawn. There's also some wild shit she pulls in First Strike with the stolen Ascendant Justice and Gettysburg and beating the living shit out of those boats didn't bother her. To actually damage the AI itself, it would need to take damage to storage media that the AI or part of the AI is stored on, which is why splitting parts of themselves off is risky for them. (Example: There's a bit where Black Box split off part of himself to follow another character undercover and the radio that piece of him was in was damaged, which led to damage to that piece of Black Box. Reintegrating that fragment was painful and permanently scarring to him. It impacts an AI's lifespan when things like that happen to them.)

An AI pretty much has access to whatever systems they're able to get into, whether that's a physical or wireless link. If you, say, destroy every camera inside a ship then sure, the AI is blind, but as long as the piece has power and is in-range, they can probably use it. I think the chip is generally somewhere in the helm, which means it's physically close to and easily linked into the ship's vital control systems. As long as the comms equipment works, Roland isn't trapped. We've seen AIs pull clever shit using limited means to transmit themselves or parts of themselves. (...The example coming to mind for me is a Forerunner AI, but it's not anything I don't think Roland could do.)

Lack of power would be a problem, but I don't think that kills an AI. Plus something the size of the Infinity... I feel like there has to be some kind of backup system, especially in important sections? This is all me speculating though, I'd have to go dig around in more detailed lore to see if there is anything.

Also: In addition to just physically pulling the AI's chip, Spartans are capable of carrying a smart AI in MJOLNIR armor, and this has become a lot less "we have to literally calibrate things with your brain" than it was when they first paired Chief and Cortana. And there were a lot of Spartans on the Infinity.

Someone would've gotten him out, my money would be on Palmer or Miller.

I guarantee @poisonheadcrabsalesman has thoughts on this one because Roland's their boy much more than he is mine and they have been suffering greatly.

Kiara walked briskly through the darkness to the cave where Slave One  resided. She had to deliver the information while the images were still fresh in her mind. It had been easy to slip out of the camp at night. The real challenge had been extracting herself from Gar Saxon’s arms; he had had her in a vice grip.

The night chill did nothing to cool the blood pumping throughout her body or quell the heat that still resided between her legs. Saxon had been good, but not the best she had ever had. Her body burned for more.

She resolved to dissipate her arousal by maintaining a brisk pace through the forest. If she was quick she could deliver the information and be back in Saxon’s bed before the sun rose. 

She reached the cave a little over a half an hour later. To her dismay Bane was outside working on the ship’s hull. She was suddenly very conscious of the fact that she was wearing thin linen pajamas. It didn’t help either that she was still terribly horny.

“I have information,” she announced. He gave her an appraising look, taking in her appearance. He opened his mouth to respond but for some reason hesitated.

He tasted the air with his tongue. Her whole body went flush. The squint of his red eyes from under his hat stated plainly that he knew what she had been up to.

“Don’ tell it t’me. He’s inside,” Bane said dismissively. Eager to escape his scrutiny, Kiara eagerly climbed up the ramp into Slave One.

“Jango?” She called out.

She had never seen a ship's interior like it. Almost everything she saw was modified, down to the internal lighting systems. She could hardly even call it a Firespray class craft anymore.

I gotta tell the mandos to spruce the Dragonsbreath up a bit.

Sangheili Akari is an illegally modified Sangheili. She was captured by an invading human force along with several other young Sangheili so young she doesn't even remember her birth name. The goal of the abduction was to create a sort of Spartan version of the Sangheili to go toe-to-toe with the invading force that could be controlled and guided, either by orders given in code or via a sort of neural interface. Similar to how Spartan-IIIs were given chemical augmentation to force their bodies to grow faster, the abducted Sangheili were given an injection as well. Of the dozens that were abducted, only a few handfuls survived. The planet that the research was being done on was raided by the Covenant before too much more could be done, and the surviving Sangheili youths were bundled into a ship and escaped with before the lab was destroyed.

They landed on Reach during the invasion. They were accosted by a force of Covenant as they headed for the lab, and those that survived were then stuck in place as human Marines arrived to "save" them. The Marines mistook the troupe as a group of undercover Sangheili abducting scientists and opened fire. The scientists protested all their hard work being killed but were unable to save those that failed to flee. It was a loss. They could replicate and improve the process, having ironed out some kinks, but there was still much to be done.

Akari (only knowing herself by an experiment number at that point) managed to be the swiftest of the Sangheili during the initial confrontation and managed to escape. She struggled to survive in an unknown area on an unknown planet, hiding from humans as well as aliens because she didn't know who was friend and who was foe. To her, everyone was an enemy that might kill her. Her anxiety and vigilance kept her alive, enabled her to successfully scavenge and bring food back to the ship- which she moved after several days of scoping out the surroundings. She had watched the pilot as they left the planet and as they headed for Reach. She was young and frightened, but her mind had been accelerated to an extent. She was able to make connections swiftly.

She ended up flying low and setting the ship down not too far from a mining settlement, banging it up to make it look abandoned so she wouldn't be bothered. She'd have stayed there until the glassing approached if it weren't for the swarm of Sangheili that appeared one day, all flooding towards one area behind the shipyards. She waited until movement stopped, until night fell, before creeping out to scavenge. Beggars couldn't be choosers, and the invading force of her own kind almost always had rations on them that she could use.

What she found was not just rations, but also a man in armor barely clinging to life.

2024 Back-to-School Special! (ep 800)

“Ten with Ken” returns for its 8th season with a special double episode distilling the best moments from literally hours of welcome back, orientation, move-in and kick-off videos, from more than 100 colleges and universities. Students overcome their anxieties and homesickness by celebrating, dancing, screaming and clinging to their stuffed animals and favourite comfort foods. They’re distracted by concerts, midway rides, marching bands, fireworks, confetti cannons, and so much more. Some schools play games too, staging their own versions of “Cash Cab,” “Undercover Boss,” or “Roommate Match.”

While the post-pandemic Class of 2028 is anxious, so too are campus administrators, still smarting from heated protests and campus occupations this spring. Their Fall welcome videos overtly urge tolerance for diverse viewpoints and a culture of respect on campus. Incoming first-years are asked to share words of advice for their future selves, while senior students and new graduates share their own advice for the incoming class of 2028. A sense of community is quickly established with matching t-shirts, massive logo formations on the football field, running the gauntlet and plunging in to the mud. From “BamaJam” to “GobblerFest,” campuses are working hard to amp up the enthusiasm of students returning to campus this month. (As so many student put it: “Whoooooo!”)

The Walking Dead (2010)

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, this gritty drama portrays life in the months and years that follow a zombie apocalypse. Raya

Where do I even start?? This is the short version and I passed over a lot of details, Raya and her cousins were all raised in a military family, more specifically in the Hood family. It’s not the most known fact due the last name differences but Admiral Terrence Hood is her uncle and she was mostly raised by him and his wife. Her parents were apart of the UNSC but they were rarely ever home, Raya spend most of her time with her uncle and aunt or attending military school with her cousins.

Around the same time the war started, Raya’s parents asked what she wanted for her 14th birthday, all she really wanted was time with her parents, so they went on a vacation together. However, the planet gets attacked while their there, and Raya ends up getting saved by an ODST while her parents are killed, the last thing she even remembers from that night, is watching the man who saved her get stabbed while the pelican was taking off.

It takes two more weeks before she’s finally taken back to earth and reunited with her family, it’s Terrence that sees her first and asks what happened. After they talk, Raya takes his hand and gives it a squeeze but doesn’t cry, she can’t find it in her and it’s a note that Terrence makes. He ends up putting her in therapy but it doesn’t really go anywhere, Raya is just refusing to grieve and never really processes it.

By the time she’s 18, she enlists immediately and her military career starts, by the age of 22, she’s scouted out to become an ODST and climbs the ranks. She works mainly on the frontlines but has the odd missions of undercover or assassinations, at the age of 32 her entire unit gets wiped out and the only reason she survived is because she didn’t listen to orders.

After this event, she gets called back to earth for a psychological evaluation but ends up stopping by Admiral Hood’s office and she breaks down about it to him and this is the first time he’s seen her cry. She doesn’t get sent to the frontlines again for a good six years, doing mainly undercover missions and dealing with insurrectionists as a lonewolf.

In 2548, she’s recruited for the experimental phase of the Spartan-IV program and by 2551 has been promoted to commander.

There is such much more but this is scratching the surface.

Lana

I’m still working on her story, but what I have so far is that Lana attended military school with her cousins and brothers, she’s normally very quiet and got bullied for it until Raya snapped one day and beat the kids up [Lana didn’t tell anyone because she didn’t wanna be a bother], this was right after Raya lost her parents.

When she was 12, her dad got a form of incurable disease and slowly started dying, she would often get sent to stay with family while her parents were constantly at doctor appointments. While visiting him in the hospital, he starts teaching her to draw and it becomes their thing, when she finally turns 18, her dad tells her “No point in wasting away with me, go live.” And ends up becoming a marine. She becomes an ODST at 25 but ends up getting taken by ONI to do undercover ops. In 2549, she gets pulled into the Spartan-IV program after the first set of augmentations are done with the first group of experiments.

I know in 2552, she gets put onto Kilo-Five as a stealth operative.

Novarell

Also a work in progress,

Nova is an original Predacon that was put into stasis by Onyx Prime and Solus Prime. She was more curious about how Cybertronian lived and was taught by Onyx to change forms. This resulted in her getting pretty much casted out and Solus took her in and taught her how not to be a beast pretty much. Nova had pleaded to the Predaking alot about the great cataclysm coming but wouldn't hear her out. She was ready to die with her brother but Onyx wanted to ensure at least one Predacon survived, so he and Solus put her into stasis.

She was accidentally woken during the war and was confused as hell at the state of Cybertron. She ended up killing bots on both sides in self-defense as the autobots thought of her as a con and the cons had never seen this predacon before.

Not her proudest moment, but she ended up draining the Energon from the bots she killed to sustain herself. She meets some predacons but realizes they aren't from her Era of life. Nova ends up killing them seeing them as weaker and is disgusted by them.

There is a brief period where Nova tries to find any of her kind still alive that isn't a knockoff. During this time, she helps several autobots in battles but their all confused as to why a predacon is turning against the cons. Nova never stays and flies off. Novarell ends up destroying a deception base and using the portal in there to find her way to Earth. Only to find the place crawling with predacons and loses her mind for a minute and goes on a killing spree. In her grief, she finds a cave that's filled with Energon and returns to stasis.

Flash forward years, and someone [probs cons] finds the cave she's residing in and starts mining the now energon crystals; they don't realize there is a GIANT dragon in the cave and hit a deposit that's above her and the vibration pulls her out of stasis and she's grumpy. She yawns and sniffs the air and growls, she attacks the bot and it's over within a minute before Nova transforms and stretches, how long had it been since she took on this form?

She leaves the cave and makes sure to cause a landslide to block it, she'll be able to dig at it later. Before transforming again and flying off to figure out what had happened.

Raya

Her eyes used to be honey brown. Raya was going actively blind before augmentation with the war she’s fought in for 20+ years, between the explosions and flashes of plasma, it started taking a bad turn on her vision. She originally started losing her sight at 16 but never told anyone thinking it was normal until she told her uncle about it at 18, there was no point in making a big deal about it between the war and her going through boot camp that they just got her long-lasting contacts. In 2548, Admiral Hood was thinking about having her retire with her vision being so bad but ONI wanted her for the Spartan-IV program with her mission record. Due to the program still being in the experimental phase, they offered her the Spartan-II augmentation, Occipital Capillary Reversal regardless of if failure meant permanent blindness. She jumped on the wagon so fast and the augmentation was a success, however this resulted in her eyes turning into a golden color instead of brown and she can see in the dark.

From her father’s side, she’s from Ukrainian descent, I had to share this too.

Lana

Girl got cheated on by her fiancé while she was deployed and only finds this out because one of her cousin’s had evidence, she confronts him and he says very hurtful things and the main one that she remembers till this day is “you are no good.” And her responds is “you honestly couldn’t have waited till I was six feet under? I would’ve died sooner than later and you couldn’t have let me die thinking you loved me?”

Novarell

Nova and the original Predaking came from the well of allspark together, so they considered each other siblings and were very close until Nova started interacting with Cybertronians and learned how to transform, they started fighting a lot and he practically casted her out but could never bring himself to kill her. She still loves her 'brother' very much and misses him.
