Tumblr I had a idea for a underverse AU that's just all the sans are replaced with more ""Underrated"" ones (at least partially) so here's what I have for the role swaps which is very subject to change
Tumblr media
(Ccino was originally Horror but I feel like horror is everywhere and also I hardly see Ccino so)
Anyways thoughts?

Mermaid Beats designs
Tumblr media
Okay I can't decided what type of mermaid I'd turn Beats into. A friend of mine suggested a hermit crab but I had to point out that if he was a hermit crab then either he would be super tiny or have to build all his shells as he grows. So I'm not going with a hermit crab (But I tried to draw him as one cause I was curious). Also never drew a hermit crab before so that was interesting to draw.
The other mermaid design ideas I thought of was a Leaf slug but couldn't decided if I should give him legs or not so I drew him with both. Then I thought why not a sea bunny? Both are adorable. Then I thought of a seahorse design. Then I remembered that axolotls are adorable sea creatures and I just can't decide! Yes the feet look a little strange mostly because I was not drawing all the little bones in the feet. Like you can see the problem I'm kinda running into.
Trying to find a sea creature to best match his personality and that would have to be an octopus but Nightmare is an octopus and leviathan. So I went looking at other sea creatures. Trying to best match his personality and adorableness without having him be toxic or deadly like the glaucus atlanticus (A small adorable sea slug but is very deadly as it can carry the man o' war's venom on it). So I'm a little stumped.
Maybe the axolotl as while that would make him a freshwater mermaid it would also be very interesting to see. Plus the interactions of the freshwater mermaids and ocean mermaids could be interesting.

I had this idea awhile back and thought it’d be cool, so here you go! One Underbeat Saber sans!
Saber is introverted, quiet, and defensive.
That’s all I got.
Sorry

So, I don't have any Undertale art to fully celebrate it's 9th year anniversary didn't realize it was today. I do have something I drew and colored a couple of years ago for a Thanksgiving contest on Discord that can still be applicable for the anniversary.
Tumblr media
Looking back at this, Ori's expression kinda bothers me. But, I really am thankful for this fandom. It's probably my favorite fandom I've been in and a bit less toxic than others I've been in. I've met a lot of cool people and I love both UT and the AUs people have come up with.
The little purple and orange Sans is called Beats Sans and they're my favorite Sans and such a comfort character (really underrated AU as well). When I used to work an overnight job I'd get stressed and overwhelmed to the point I'd have to isolate myself to not publicly bawl my eyes out. There's an image the creator of Beats made with them holding a flower (the one drawn to represent it) with them saying "Smile" that helped me so much. I know it probably sounds silly, but it helped.
Meeting and befriending people online, both in VR and on social media, does help a lot. I'm thankful to have met so many cool people and reading or looking at what people have come up with. Thank all of y'all.
Origami belongs to me.

315c: Various Artists // Top Teen Bands Vol. 3
Tumblr media
Top Teen Bands Vol. 3 Various Artists 1966, Bud-Jet
Doing a three-for-one today on this trio of Minneapolis-St. Paul garage rock compilations originally issued in 1966 on the Bud-Jet label, and mysteriously bootlegged on CD and vinyl around 2005. With the exception of bluesman George “Mojo” Buford (on Vol. 2), none of these acts ever managed to cut an LP, and a few barely managed to get a single out. The Twin Cities had a decent little rock scene, and these comps give us 16 bands across 36 tracks, good, bad, and bluhgly. First time opening these guys that have been sitting on my shelf for ages, let’s see what we’ve got.
Top Teen Bands, Vol. 3
Gregory Dee & the Avanties — Nervous Breakdown (Maybe a shade of the Who in that quavering vocal; one of those nearly-blitzing, nearly-heavy numbers the Avanties’ might've really figured out how to tear into if they'd made it to a post-MC5 America.)
Underbeats — Route 66 (A Holly/Berry-ized version of the Nat King Cole chestnut, totally fine, though the drums are practically inaudible, both on my pressing and the version on YouTube—there's basically just a faint clattering of cymbals in the background, like steam hissing in a distant room.)
Canadian Lady Bugs — Tra-La-La-La-La (A complete rip off of "What'd I Say," though it would've been fun enough to twist to at a sock hop.)
Deacons — Candy Man (Bit of a low energy recording for what it is, but that guitarist really throws it down on the lengthy solo—imagine if someone could’ve told them a little feedback would drive the kids nuts?)
Accents — Road Runner (Sick guitar tone on this one; teenage boy attempts bluesman Blaccent with mixed results; let's say "inspired" by the Jr. Walker song.)
youtube
Bandits — The Crusher [actually King Krusher and the Turkeynecks – King Krusher] (Oh hell fucking yes, where do I even begin with this? So, in 1964 the Novas [who are themselves all over this compilation series] had a national #88 hit with a novelty song called "The Crusher" in honour of the Wisconsinite wrestler Reginald "The Crusher" Lisowski, including vocalist Bob Nolan's memorable impression of the gravel-voiced grappler. What we have here is ANOTHER Minnesota band, the aptly named Bandits, ripping off the Novas' tune later the same year with "King Krusher" (issued under the name King Krusher and the Turkeynecks), only this time the track seems to feature the actual Crusher on guest vocals. Lisowski (or a good soundalike) gives probably the closest thing you're going to hear to a death metal vocal on an early '60s recording, and while the track isn't as catchy as the Novas' original, it certainly weaves a more elaborately eye-gouging narrative.)
youtube
Rave-Ons — I Want You to Love Me (Not very sneakily rips off at least three massive hits, including "La Bamba" and the Beatles’ version of “Twist and Shout”; unsurprisingly, the result is decently catchy.)
Satisfactions — Bad Times (Kind of Animals-y, one of the few things on here that I would say has a sense of Cool to it; this is really on the cusp of that long-haired late '60s sound that was taking shape. It's not a classic, but it's right on the cusp of Nuggets-quality.)
Novas — Novas Coaster (Speak of the devil, it's the Novas with a semi-instrumental that won't change your life, but suggests it was probably between these guys and the Avanties for the title of best live act in the Twin Cities at the time.)
Bandits — Downtown (Fun, peculiar, faintly Tiny Tim-ish take on Petula Clark's "Downtown"; sounds like me doing Brian Ferry at karaoke.)
Only Ones — The Party's Over (Still not any of those Only Ones, but this is a really fun doomed teenage death wish track in the classic style—a great song to close a night with, for anyn vintage wax DJs reading this.)
Gregory Dee & the Avanties — Olds-Mo-William (I read this title for the first time immediately before listening to the track and clocked the dumbshit pun [Oldsmobile, the beel pronounced like "Bill" in a certain type of Southern accent] just as the band kicked in. Decided right then and there that I was all in for whatever. Some Dr. Demento-quality Chuck Berry worship here, chaos, great way to end the comps.)
youtube
Overall: I’d say Vol. 3 gives you the best bang for your buck of the three sets, with King Krusher and the Turkeynecks’ “King Krusher”; Satisfactions’ “Bad Times”; Only Ones’ “The Party’s Over”; and the Avanties’ “Olds-Mo-William" being some of the highlights of '60s Twin Cities garage rock. Some of them haven't even been uploaded to YouTube, so if you want 'em this is one of the few places they can be heard.

Sometimes, the line between "drag artist" and "performer who is queer" becomes incredibly blurry and hard to define.
One of the most famous queer artists of the Harlem renaissance was Gladys Bentley, who was openly a lesbian and who wore men's clothing as a part of her stage persona.
Tumblr media
Bentley sometimes used the term "male impersonator" as a way of being able to wear masculine attire on stage, but she was never fully pretending to be male. She was always being herself.
A virtuouso piano player, she was called "America's Greatest Sepia Piano Player" and the "Brown Bomber of Sophisticated Songs" She headlined at places like Cotton Club and the Ubangi Club, and always drew in massive crowds.
youtube
Described by Langston Hughes, "For two or three amazing years, Miss Bentley sat, and played piano all night long … with scarcely a break between the notes, sliding from one song to another, with a powerful and continuous underbeat of jungle rhythm. Miss Bentley was an amazing exhibition of musical energy – a large, dark, masculine lady, whose feet pounded the floor while her fingers pounded the keyboard – a perfect piece of African sculpture, animated by her own rhythm."
Tumblr media
Gladys Bentley was far from being the only queer woman blues singer of the day. Lucille Bogan, Bessie Smith and Ma Rainey also had sexual relationships with women, and sang songs about same-sex desire and "bulldaggers."
youtube
Even still, Bentley stood out for her unabashed queerness. When performing at the Ubangi Club, she had a chorus line of drag queens performing behind her.
As time wore on and America became more conservative, Bentley's career struggled. In the 1950s, she renounced her old ways and claimed she had been "cured" of lesbianism and "become a woman again" through a regimen of estrogen shots. It was the only way she was able to maintain a career through the McCarthy era.

Lamia Tune Reference Sheet
Tumblr media
Here is the Lamia Tune character/reference sheet that I've made. I've never made a character sheet before so when I made this one it was an interesting experience. I'm working on a few other character sheets to upload when their finished.
Also the hammer weapon on the left side of the hammer that is a stereo. If attacking with his hammer, he can boost the speed of the swing with the stereo as it plays a random note or beat.
So far IDK when I'll be to upload the comic, as I'm writing down notes and a draft for the story so it makes sense. So far the comic title name idea I have is Scaly Friendship. Though this title might change in the future.

Γεια σας! Here we are at the Penultimate Redwall Recipe we're going to cover, and this ones a two-fer as most of the drinks are. Today from the Redwall Cookbook we're covering both Applesnow and Mossflower Mulled Cider!
(you can also find the original recipe at the bottom if you’d like to follow along)-
MY NAMES CROSS NOW LETS COOK LIKE ANIMALS
SO, “what goes in to an Applesnow?” YOU MIGHT ASK
Sauce apple (such as McIntosh or Cortland)
Ground cinnamon
Sugar
Eggwhite
AND, “well, what goes in to an Mossflower Mulled Cider?” YOU MIGHT ASK
2 cups apple cider
3 tablespoons sugar
4 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
Pinch ground allspice
2 slices lime or lemon
Applesnow is essentially applesauce but fancy-ed with the egg, you can cook more or less time for various applesauce consistencies, the time this recipe gives will have it be less mushy (or not cooked at all…).
AND, “what does each taste like?” YOU MIGHT ASK
Theyre both very simple dishes that pack a lot of flavor!
Applesnow is definitely best served chilled
Eggwhites, when beaten enough, have a good texture to them (youll need to beat them until theyre soft-firm peaks!!! Don't underbeat them!!)
Though the taste of eggwhites on the applesauce is….. Acquired. I did not like it, it tasted too savory/breakfasty
the cider is sweet and smooth, buttery
citrus adds a really nice tang to balance out the more complicated flavors
The english have some damn weird desserts
. doubled allspice amount in applesnow . doubled cinammon/cloves amount in cider
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From deciding to make both to having both completed and ready to eat, id say it took about an hour- most of this was me double checking recipes and waiting for my electric stovetop to heat haha.
Applesnow is a fascinating concept- you dont often see egg whites alone used in end results. It doesnt have a strong flavor on its own but the texture is very satisfying because its layered with the applesauce, and the applesauce is delicious because its spiced. Measure with your heart on that also. But whipping egg whites is quite a bit of work and i think i wouldve personally liked this better with vanilla bean icecream? Making it closer to a sundae than Applesnow.
The Mossflower Mulled Cider makes about one large glass, so id recommend making the recipe in a larger quantity just given how long it takes for spices to incorporate. Also, try to shoot for a tall saucepan! I made mine in the same pot i use for pasta and had it been just a wee bit shorter on the walls it wouldve been impossible to stir enough for the sugar to incorporate.
Really excited to get to the last redwall recipe next review! I have some closing thoughts on the book and hopefully it wont take me too long to come out with it. Thank you all so much for reading along this far, it really does mean a lot to me how much folks have enjoyed this series and seeing people save recipes for cooking later :')
I give Applesnow an 8/10, and Mossflower Mulled Cider a 10/10 (with 1 being food that makes one physically sick and 10 being food that gives one a lust for life again.)
🐁 ORIGINAL RESIPPY TEXT BELOW 🐁
Applesnow Ingredients:
1 large sauce apple (such as McIntosh or Cortland), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Sugar (or other sweetener), to taste
1 egg white (see Note)
NOTE: Raw Egg Whites For most healthy people, the risk of salmonella food poisoning from a fresh egg white is small. To minimize this risk, use the egg white directly from the refrigerator and serve immediately, or, to avoid all risk, substitute powdered egg whites. Follow package directions to reconstitute the equivalent of one white.
Method:
Place the apple slices in a saucepan with the cinnamon, if using, and add 2 tablespoons ofwater. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then cover the pan, reduce the heat, and simmer until the apple goes mushy, 5 to 10 minutes.
Transfer the apple mush to a bowl, add the sugar, and beat until smooth. Let cool.
Just before serving, beat the egg white in a mixer until stiff. Fold the egg white into the apple and serve.
Mossflower Mulled Cider Ingredients:
2 cups apple cider
3 tablespoons sugar
4 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
Pinch ground allspice
2 slices lime or lemon
Method:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cider, sugar, cloves, cinnamon and allspice and stir together until the sugar has dissolved. Continue to heat until the cider reaches a boil.
Take the pan off the heat, cover it, and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Strain out the whole spices and serve warm, garnished with a lime or lemon slice

hello, I would like to know if you were inspired by undertone sans and underbeats sans to design Tear, because he reminds me a little of them both.
Sorry If any english mistakes.
No, I didn't know of them. The only visual inspiration I took is from Blooky themselves and Dust with the dramatic shadows over the face when hood is up. Personality is all how I view in-game Napstablook with few spins of my own.

I love that you can ramble about things. If you don't mind, what are your favorite small AUs, like underbeats or abysstale? (Those are my favorite, btw)
oh my gosh, i might have to look through my archive and see which ones that really excited me for many years.....
personally, oceantale or @/oceantale01 by dimmestforte/@/mainforte had always been on par to outertale to me ESPECIALLY on aesthetics it never picked up as much as other AUs but god the aesthetics hook me and grab me EVERY TIME.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
personal favorites of all the designs that were released <3 god i am a sucker for ocean aesthetics
it's the first thing i thought of off the top of my head, so i'd say this one for sure!

Top Teen Bands Vol. 2 Various Artists 1966, Bud-Jet
Top Teen Bands Vol. 2
Deacons — Baldy Stomp (The Deacons’ other song with “Baldy” / “Baldie” in the title, this one features more Wildman vocal ad libs, and a decently edgy sound for '64.)
youtube
Gregory Dee & the Avanties — Say Boss Man (A nice little groove with some fun organ playing and a semi-buried, distorted vocal that's practically another instrument at times—kinda peters out just as it's getting good, this would’ve probably cooked live.)
Corvets — So Fine (Finally somebody in the Twin Cities doing Jerry Lee shit, though the excitement fades a bit when you realize it's going to be an instrumental. Ends up kind of like listening to Linus from Peanuts tear ass on his toy pianer.)
Gregory Dee & the Avanties — Because of You (So, these guys have heard the Animals too. They're kinda close to nailing it with this vocal melody and jangly guitar figure over an organ drone. The mixing on the version on YouTube’s a bit rough, but on the comp it’s hideous—the drums, bass, and organ become this gross thud that buries the rest of the track.)
Canadian Love Bugs — Moanin' (Good vocalist; someone should rap the organist on the knuckles and make him behave himself; just kinda there.)
Rave-Ons — Love Pill (More Please Please Me-era Beatles pastiche from the Rave-Ons, and honestly, pretty close to the genuine article except the vocals are just like 20% less refined; pretty good hook.)
Novas — On the Road Again (Good, tough garage R&B.)
Accents — Louisiana Man (Piano-led and countrified in kind of a "Billy Bayou" way, but with a thuggish stomp—it would skip along better without it, but the wallop gives it a kind of stoned drag that's sorta interesting.)
Satisfactions — Girl, Don't Tell Me (A serviceable cover of the Beach Boys' "Girl Don't Tell Me," a song I could listen to in basically any arrangement—less impassioned than Carl's vocal on the original, but it lets you appreciate that twinkly "Ticket to Ride"-y instrumental hook even more.)
Mojo Buford — Whole Lotta Woman (Nice harmonica driven jump blues / rock 'n' roll track from an actual Black guy, formerly of Muddy Waters’ band.)
Underbeats — Broken Arrow (Crickets-y jam with a lot of gimmicky Dr. Seuss-y wordplay happening in the verses, but overall it’s very likeable. Would listen again.)
Gregory Dee & the Avanties — Because of You (More blown out, super deconstructed sound, but this one goes pretty damn hard, weird groaning organ hook, Eric Burdon-impression vocals. A trashy trip.)
youtube
Overall: Vol. 2 is probably the weakest of the three collections, but it's still mostly a breeze to listen to. Gregory Dee's "Because of You" takes the cake here, but the Accents, Rave-Ons, and Novas tracks aren't bad.
