To me, Machete kind of has the energy of a secondary villain/coldhearted side character in someone else's story that a lot of fans latch onto, moreso than the protagonist. Question is, would he be the villain in anyone's story?

Dazai already mentions Fyodor in The Day I Picked Up Dazai, so he crossed paths with Fyodor at least by 16.

Now my question is, did he find it suspicious Fyodor hadn't aged a bit? Like, in 6 years, Fyodor hasn't gained a single wrinkle on his face, his facial features didn't get any sharper, he didn't get any taller. He looks the exact same 6+ years later.

I guesssss you could make an argument that maybe Fyodor has fabulous genes that keep him looking youthful and like he hasn't aged a day, but I feel like Dazai would pick up on any subtleties.
