I'm Adara Sakamaki.

I'm a Vampire, several hundred years old - and I'm a witch!! That's right! I cast spells and brew potions and fly on broomstick. The whole shebang! I even have a Cat! - Her name is Luna and she's the sweetest Kitty ever! - But I won't melt if you splash water on me so don't try that.

Now, you may be wondering - how am I a Sakamaki? - Karlheinz has no daughters. And you'd be wrong in that assumption. Karlheinz is my father, Lady Beatrix is my mother. I was born before Shu and Reiji. But good old Karl didn't want a girl to be his first born (~because stupid politics and sexism~). So instead of raising me in our dear fucked up little family I was thrown away. They didn't want me so I was tossed away and they tried again a few years later for sons - and got Shu and later Reiji.

So - some stuff about me.....

Who raised me? Uncle Richter - he did a good job in my opinion, not the best but not the worst either.

How did I become a Witch? I had a master - someone to teach me! :)

What's my sensuality? I'm Bisexual-!

Am I in a relationship? Nope! I'm comfortably single right now!

What kind of Witch are you? The jack of all trades kind! I can do at least a little bit of every type of magic - I've had many years to study and learn after all. I'm really good with most magics too - there are only a few that are difficult to do for me.

Do I drink blood from Humans? Only if they give me permission on all fronts. I don't like crossing boundaries with the Humans I know - so if they don't want &/or consent to being bitten I won't bite. I get most of my blood from hunting animals.

What are some things I like? Magic obviously. It's amazing. I also love to do art - sketching is my favorite. Skateboarding is something I like and do a lot. I also like reading books of all kinds.

What am I afraid of? Not telling you guys, I know my father is on here and I don't trust him with that information.

The life of young private investigator Jack Overland had been a challenging but overall mundane one. He worked in Toronto alongside his uncle, honing his skills under the older man's guidance for multiple years in relative peace.

Though, when a strange package arrives at his office containing a brightly colored stone: his life is thrust into chaos as an amnesiac supernatural being takes over his eyes leaving him blind. Little does Jack know that this was just the beginning of his and his new tentative ally's long journey that would bring them into the path of monsters and gods.

For the past year or so, I've been writing a Roleplay with my dear friend Renn inspired by the amazing podcast "Malevolent." The RP started out as a fun little idea that turned into 126,079 words and counting of raw replies between us both.

And we are now considering editing this RP into a full fledged fanfiction with characters from "Rise of the Guardians" but in a gritty 1930s setting with supernatural creatures and gods beyond human comprehension.

This post is a little test-run to see if there might be some interest in a story such as this.

Personality: At her core, Abigail is a compassionate, steadfast woman who is willing to do absolutely anything and everything to protect those she loves. She does not have a formal education, but she is intelligent, cunning, insightful, and a diligent worker.  She used to be something of a romantic and a dreamer. Part of this aspect is still present, but her pessimism and exhaustion have taken precedence.  She is very motherly overall. She doesn’t plan on mothering people, but she finds that the people she meets need that sort of nurturing. However, she is frustrated with her lot in life. She wants nothing more but to settle down, be properly married, work a ranch, and enjoy her family. Abigail can be cold and calculating and ruthless, even to those she loves. She is also very assertive, stubborn, and emotional at times.

Not that that's a bad thing, mind you. Everyone is new at some point. Even me! But it can be a bit of a problem when you find a blog that's been around in some capacity since 2018. There's a lot of gaps to fill in, and hopefully this post will help be a starting point.

While this is a Wilford rp and ask blog, no matter how busy or quiet it may be, it has been around for a long time. M.otherloving came out about a month or two after the blog was set up, and the accuracy of what I was writing meant this blog was on the right track - I was the only person in my circle at the time who didn't need to either make major headcanon changes or opt to abandon canon and go divergent. With every appearance, there's been no major tweaks that have been required to adjust the portrayal. To toot my own horn, it's been fairly spot on.

Between that and natural character development, this can mean that the blog could be a little... 'inaccurate' to expectations, and can cause a lot of confusion for those who aren't 'in the know'. So! Consider this a 101 on the character without needing to trawl through the gauntlet of a two-part bio (the second part isn't even finished yet....)

In brief, I kindly ask that you leave expectations of a reckless madman who fully personifies the "LOL XD RANDUM" and has no clue about anything going on at the door, please. If you want to compare him to a canon appearance, look more toward M.otherloving or Space.

While this Wilf (also known as 'Rose' when interacting with variants) is still eccentric and kooky, he is more grounded in nature. Chances to interact with others and maintain a somewhat normal sense of time flowing in the correct manner have started to help him feel more connected. Not only that, he's starting to get glimpses of his original life as William, and a later life of Wilson Jackson Bartholomew (or just 'Jack'). The latter I haven't gone into much detail yet in general, so don't worry about that. If you see him getting glimpses of these memories, he doesn't go into hysterics. That's important.

He is six foot three, and heavy built. The evidence of his past life as a soldier is there in his broad shoulders, a barrel chest and strong arms, as well as how he can hold himself. However, he's got a proper tubby belly, and this softness almost counteracts the threat of the almost unnatural strength that lies within. His moustache is either pure pink or black with pink tips depending on the day. He's got a curly mop of black hair that has a slight red-pink tint when the light shines on it just right. The only genuine traces of pink in his hair can be found in his fringe, which curls over his right eye. There's usually faint stubble across his jawline, and he flat-out refuses to wear glasses (he'll say it's because he doesn't want anyone missing out on his 'cute chocolate eyes'. Don't believe him. He just doesn't like them and won't humour the idea of contacts). Despite this, he's still athletic, and can move surprisingly fast if you aren't prepared.

He's still a reporter, though these days he's taken a bit of a back seat. His work in the studio is helping the Jims and others who are making their presence known on camera. When he does interview, that reckless, gun-wielding side comes out in full force... But it's more akin to an act than anything truthful to who he is.

Instead, his priority is the Moonlight Roller. It's the reclaimed disco setting of M.otherloving that was redecorated and given a whole new lease of life. I go into a LOT more detail here, but in brief: it is a roller rink, amusement arcade, diner, and bar that is located both in a real location and in between the worlds and stories. If a character needs a break, they'll find a door to the Roller.

Personality-wise, Wilf is still eccentric, but it's closer to a 'weird uncle' mixed with a cartoon character. He's normally upbeat and childish, though he does have his more serious moments. He'll still take time to voice whatever odd thought crosses his mind on the dash, or go directly to another blog if he wants an answer or opinion on something. And to my surprise, he's even tried to be the stereotypical 'bartender who listens to others' woes'. I never thought that would happen! How did that happen?? He used to be notorious for putting his foot in his mouth!

As for his abilities? He's got the abilities to lift things in and out of pocket dimensions. He always has a weapon on his person, even if there's little reason for it these days. He can blink out of existence or disappear if eyes are off him, and use doors as a way to teleport/take shortcuts. This can sometimes land him in different timelines or eras, not that he minds. He's got impeccable aim, and he usually only misses if he chooses to. That's not mentioning his ability to use any weapon after a brief examination with startlingly good skill.

By the way. You can kill him, but he won't stay dead. He'll come back to pester you about it in a few days.

This blog also has William, but I don't need to talk about any potential differences. What you saw in WKM is what you get, essentially. His height was rather unusual for his time, and he absolutely used this to his advantage to add to the intimidation factor. He was a loyal friend, but also not the nicest person to be friends with. And if he didn't know you? Good luck!

Sometimes, you may see someone called Liam. This is a 'what-if' timeline where Celine never arrived, resulting in William's death and him taking the role of 'the villain'. Despite the 'what-if', this was actually the intended plan, where William would die, and everyone else would leave, alive and safe. This goes into more detail about that. In brief, his main distinguishing factor is his paralysed left arm as a result of the fatal injury he received during the gun confrontation with the Detective.

What is We Happy Few?

We Happy Few is a game of paranoia and survival in the dystopian town of Wellington Wells, set in a retrofuturistic 1964 England. In an alternate version of WWII, the Germans agreed to pull their troops out of Wellington Wells on the agreement that all children be sent away to Germany on a train. In the aftermath, the town essentially went insane desperately trying to forget about their collective grief at the loss of their children.

It became mandated to take a drug, Joy, that induces happiness and euphoria, while also dampening the users' memories, along with wearing creepy masks that make it look like you're always smiling. In recent years, the supply of Joy (and of food!) has been growing dangerously low. The residents of Wellington Wells are reaching the end of their time, though they're too high to notice or do anything to prevent it.

Who is Uncle Jack?

Uncle Jack is the face of Wellington Wells, and all of its injustices and dystopian laws. Which, isn't to say that he believes in any of it- he isn't an authority figure himself. He's the man on every television and radio station, airing multiple propaganda laced shows every day. He's a man reading a teleprompter. In reality, he doesn't agree with the majority of what he's saying, but he also doesn't have the morals to prioritize anything but his own self interests. Until his Joy stops working.

Without the drugs to repress the trauma of his daughter's death and the realities of living in a war torn dystopia, he turns to serial killing and ritualistic cannibalism by night fall.

Niffty is a small, cyclops-like demon with pointed limbs, white skin and one large eye. Her eye sports a light yellow iris, thick eyelashes, and a hot-pink sclera with a yellow gradient.

Her red-pink hair is kept into a slightly messy bob cut with swirls on each side, and a single light yellow streak located at the top. Her mouth has sharp light pale yellow teeth inside and black lips, and small hot-pink dots on each of the corners.

Niffty's attire is that of a black neckerchief around her neck, and a 1950s red-pink maid dress under a white apron with three hot-pink dripping splotches. She also wears long black gloves which covers most of her hands and arms, along with matching-colored tights.

Pilot:

In the pilot, her skin was light yellow and her hair appeared scruffier, with the single streak instead being a shade of amber. Her lips were also maroon.

Her attire, while still 1950s themed, instead consisted of a burgundy neckerchief, a white blouse with three hot-pink dripping splotches, and a red-pink swing skirt which featured a 50s-fashionable dark burgundy poodle with yellow dots. Her gloves and tights were instead the same color as the poodle print on her skirt.

I’ll slowly be posting my roleplaying questions I used to do in rp server. I have probably 100+ questions that I did.  It was a good time and I’d love people to ask more! I will put all of these under the #askabigail tag. : D Trigger warning for this set: canon child loss.  1.What did they think their life was going to look like? Abigail wanted to be a singer or an actress. She thought she could have snagged a handsome wealthy person pretty easily, but she'd actually prefer true love. (and if the person's wealthy, even better.) She always hope she’d  travel around the U.S. Sure, she would have loved exploring outside of the U.S., but Abigail knew that a girl like her would probably never be able to travel like that.  2. What skill would they like to learn? I think we know the answer if we follow canon. She wishes she could cook because she loves gatherings with family and friends, but that pales in comparison with her desire to read. She’s embarrassed and ashamed that she hasn’t been able to. She simply never picked up more than a few words and she never understood why. Books would have been a great chance for her to explore other worlds and more importantly, learn. 3. What does your character think of children? We know about Jack, so I’ll write about the Marston daughter. John had to beg and plead. She didn’t want to go through it because of how risky it was, especially since they were older. But then she thought about how nice it would be to start over, dress her up and decorate the room. Plus. Seeing John with baby fever was something else.  I head canon that she loved her daughter, but she wasn’t as close as John was to her. I HC she had post partum depression both times. There never has to be a reason, but she was essentially alone the first time, and the second time, she was similarly lonely with no one but Uncle, Jack and John, but she was thankful to have them. Still, depression doesn’t care about circumstances. She was devastated when their daughter died, but I think she would have had to stay strong for the rest of the family, especially since she saw her fellow sex workers deal with the loss of children. 4. How do they sleep? What is their relationship with sleep?  She loves to sleep on her side, preferably spooning her partner. We see this in Rdr. : ) Abigail never had a true home to herself, but her father rented a small room for them in a hard part of town. Her mother died giving birth to her, so it was only she and her father Henry. She was raised to ignore the noises around them - the shouting, the banging, the knocking, the laughing, etc. She was terrified to live in the orphanage. It changed depending on who was in charge. When she arrived, it was chaotic, loud and unclean until the church ladies took over. Then, it was silence, but the strictness of the nuns terrified her and she slept worse with them. Later on, sleep as a sex worker was also difficult. She had to work in shifts at all hours of the day or night and she had a roommate until she was able to acquire her own shabby room. It was the same noise she was always used to with except with added moaning. She slept the best she ever had when she arrived in camp with Uncle. It was literally a breath of fresh air and despite sleeping outside, she felt “clean” for the first time. She loved the stars and the night air --- and later sleeping near John. When she became pregnant? Forget sleep. After Jack’s birth? The same. When we see her in the game? Forget sleep - but she did try a little harder since we see she goes to bed early, but is one of the earliest to rise. Being on the run after the gang fell was similarly difficult, but she enjoyed Pronghorn ranch --- when she wasn’t worried about John. Beecher’s Hope - She slept moderately well when John was home, but still worried about if they would have enough to eat or if they would lose any more cattle - but it was still the best sleep she had in years, even with the Marston baby. I hc this was months before RDR 1. She never slept as well ever again before her passing. 5.  What is your character’s relationship with their parents? Abigail never knew her mother Adelle as she passed giving birth to her in canon and abandoned her family in the modern au. Her father was a kindly wood worker who died when she was around eight. Her family was always destitute due to her father’s unfortunate luck with repaying loans. They were poor in money, but rich in love. Abigail had to fend for herself  during the day as her father worked himself to the bone. Abigail was always musically gifted   Her father provided for her the best he could and taught her a few basics of music, but he passed when she was seven  This is when she was sent to the orphanage / placed in the foster care program in the modern au.

"Did she lose her sense of fashion" Brennan just losing it while Monet just looks so done and disappointed.

Alaska's expression whenever she goes into character is top notch, that growling face

"Dinner is served!" "Is she going to fucking eat us...we're rotting?!" LOL

Monet jumping into the explanation before Brennan even asks her to. So excited, so cute.

Gertrude's attack was so cool.

I kind of wish we had gotten a chane to see Brennan's expression as the Queens are discussing this double crossing plan.

I like the flash cuts to Alaska's reactions to the antics of Bob and Jujubee, where she is just mentally rolling her eyes, like what is happening right now?/are you serious?

All of them playing out what's the best plan is actually so nice. Like they are really leaning into the RP this season, because for newbies, a ton of combat would be heard. And it's nice seeing the Queens trying to logic out what would be the best moves to do. Even if their dice don't always let them.

That was a good episode! I can see the campaign will likely be very light in combat, which makes sense, the Queens are making the RP and character choices that are so entertaining and fun to watch. Excellent season so far.

With a lot of the vintage electronics I see in thrift stores, even the sort I collect or take pictures of, I don't have a personal attachment. I appreciate the aesthetics and techniques, and I was around — or at least adjacent — for various developments from the '80s on, but I didn't have direct experience of them, so there's not that immediate nostalgia.

But seeing this guy was a bit of a divergence on that score.

The Toshiba RP-52 wasn't exactly a portable FM radio. It was most of one, but there's no speaker, no headphone jack, no audio production capability of its own. Instead, it was an accessory — an FM radio module shaped like a tape cassette — for Toshiba's KT series of portable stereo tape decks (the KT-S1, -S2, and -S3 players, and the -R1 and -R2 recorders.) They wouldn't work with any other cassette players, mind; unlike the later cassette-shaped adapters that everyone with a discman or an MP3 player had for their car stereo tape deck, they hooked directly into the electronics via spring pins rather than electromagnetically pretending to be a tape.

One of this series — I'm not entirely sure which, but it might have been one of the recorders — was my parents' first Walkman-like device. My mom's dad was a big gadget hound, and for Christmas 1981 or 1982 he had found a number of Japanese-made gadgets for different family members, including getting my uncle a transforming robot toy, the first I'd ever seen. (I have no idea what exactly it was, just that it folded into something else, and that its fists were spring-loaded and would launch themselves across the room when triggered.) For mom and dad, he got the tape player, complete with the little headphones, two radio modules, and a vinyl cover with a shoulder strap and belt loop.

The tape player was a very solid device, and a great example of its type, but I remember best how cool it was to snap the radio (this blue module for FM, or a red one for AM) into it and turn the round tuning knob on the front through a window in the cassette tray cover.

(I left the RP-52 in the store; even if the price weren't exorbitant, rebuilding a childhood audio setup starting from the optional and unusable FM radio module is a little silly. But man, it was a rush seeing the thing.)
