Some start sketches for the Xfeudaltale on my birthday stream tonight, the comic chapter I am working on. Written Chapter 1 is done but have not had it checked and edited yet. Here is some of the first time these two meet. Hope everyone enjoys Unagi and Yosei.

Figured out 3 of the 4 anime characters Atsushi references in episode four!

Made a post on Reddit to see if anyone knows the first one.

Edit: First character has been identified! The line was actually phrased strangely, making it seem like Atsushi was referring to the husband, when he was really referring to the coworker.

Tokyo was quite the lively place. The crowds, always a current of people moving to and fro. The trains roaring through tunnels, ferrying people about. City lights shone so bright that you could barely see the stars, and in such a densely packed population, crime naturally followed. That was how Naoto Shirogane, the Detective Prince, found himself seated at a comfortable, red booth at a polished, black table, with little plates of sushi whizzing by on a looping conveyor belt.

One would be forgiven for finding him unusual, particularly in the field of private investigation. At a mere 152 centimeters, he had hardly the most imposing stature, though his cold, grey eyes and perpetual poker face made up for it, in his humble opinion. Short blue hair, matched with a blue cap atop his head, a blue blazer over a collared white shirt, teal plaid pants, and black dress shoes provided a coordinated, professional appearance to offset any assumptions about his temperament based on age.

But for once, Naoto sat not alone after an arduous mission, nor with his grandfather. Across the table, a tall, slender woman with long, silver hair rested her hands on the table and watched Naoto with the faintest ghost of a smile. She wore a black dress suit and slacks, and her black turtleneck and high heels completed her polished and professional appearance. Upon taking a plate of salmon nigiri, she carefully seized a piece in her chopsticks and dipped it in soy sauce with a level of poise that matched her classy style and cool demeanor.

This woman, Sae Niijima, was the eldest daughter of Officer Akihiro Niijima, who the Shiroganes had recently partnered with to tackle an insidious trafficking case in the Shinjuku ward. With the case wrapped with a neat little bow, Sae had invited Naoto out for a celebratory meal. It was honestly surprising, given the way that most adults viewed him as useful only until he played his part, then cast him back into the proverbial playpen until they had a use for him again.

Sae chuckled. "Feeling introspective?"

"Ah… my apologies, Sae-san." He bowed his head, then fetched a plate with some unagi as a palate cleanser. The heat and light seasoning on the eel kept it distinct from the otherwise cold selections. "Thank you again for having me." Read from the Beginning | Full Chapter

I used he/him pronouns for Naoto due to Naoto's current masc persona, but tbh my approach to Naoto's gender is honestly more "Gender is Detective" at the end of the day. So probably something NB-adjacent? And certainly queer in some capacity. Next chapter drops in a few hours, bringing us back to Akechi's POV!

....I'm fond of most seafood, sans calamari. If I had to pick, I'd say most assortments of sushi are good. I especially like unagi and spicy tuna.

ᴍɪʏᴜᴋɪ sᴍɪʟᴇᴅ ᴀɴᴅ ɴᴏᴅᴅᴇᴅ.  "His name is Mr. Eel or Unagi-san," she started to fawn when the giant snake screeched at them.  It was not a good time to talk.  They needed to get out of there and in one piece. 

Miyuki looked at the scales of the snake down at her swords.  Would they be able to cut the snake open?  She was not sure.  They had no clue if the snake was venomous or not.  If it was venomous, what would happen if that venom made contact with skin?  It would be a shame to kill such a beautiful creature, but it was either them or the giant snake.  

"It'll just retaliate," Miyuki agreed.  Miyuki also had haki, but only the observation and armament haki.  Ryoko probably meant the third, which her captain, Mira had.  "It's worth a shot.  Plus, if we do get it docile, we could perhaps ride it outside the forest?"  The last resort is attacking it. 

It was getting closer, it could smell the women, so Miyuki followed after Ryoko.  She lay on the ground and took deep breaths to calm herself.  The snake moved closer to them, perceiving the two on the ground.  Miyuki kept still.  It scanned over the two women, closely after sticking its forked tongue out.

Miyuki kept still, she could see in her mind's eye the haki of the snake in front of them.  She could see how large the ripple was in comparison to them.  One wrong move and things would get worse.  I am one with the ground...  

She could feel its breath as it examined them both, closely.  She was sure the snout was just a few feet and its breath tickled.  Miyuki was determined to keep still and hoped Ryoko would as well.  Soon it slithered away...

But my senpai seemed soooo thrilled to eat it themselves so I thought it must be delicious！

So I tried it！

It was suuuuuuper delicious❗️❗️

The outside was squishy but the chocolate was crunchy and it was sweet and it kinda made me emotional🥹

Local cuisine（snacks）are always so delicious…Shizuoka's Cocco and Unagi Pie snacks are delicious too。

This snack was apparently made in Toyohashi！

I Getted 「Flavours of Aichi（Toyohashi）」！

I also got to drink dark coloured miso soup so I'm very satisfied！

I remember when we talked about that Mario movie that should’ve not happened a long time ago but did you love the new one… I sure as hell did!!!! Anyways do all monarch and titans (I don’t give two craps what Ghidorah (except San(MechaGodzilla) And Kevin) and other villains thought)

I wouldn't say I loved it like I loved D&DHaT, but it was fun and I appreciated all the easter eggs.

The Monarch crew and Titans enjoyed it and anyone who's played some Mario games pointed out all the references they recognized, from Vivi going "FUCKING UNAGI!" when that goddamn eel showed up to Madison seeing how the karts are customized like in Mario Kart, plus cameos by Pauline and Jumpman. They generally agree that the Illumination Dog dragged on a bit and could've been used to foreshadow a Chain Chomp appearance, and Vaguely Brooklyn Mario simply doesn't hold a candle to other dubs that nail the Mario voice.

San and Kevin ship Peach/Bowser and have the Peaches song stuck in their head.

My date & I went here to eat for lunch. He brought me here to try Unagi before I left Japan. We were both hungry and waited more than an hour to eat there. There was a long queue since it's a famous Eel restaurant in Narita-san. I love the traditional Japanese ambiance here, although it's crowded. Kawatoyo Honten has been a long-standing store for over 100 years, and I was lucky as a foreigner to have tried one of the best Eel restaurants. This is my second time eating unagi, hands down to the best Eel I have had.

Additionally, I love Japanese food more than Filipino food because they are less salty and fatty. Plus, they are flavorful, fresh, small portions, and highly nutritious. This is the reason why they have a long life span, and there are few obese people in Japan.

I'm back from Japan where I had the chance to meet with @yorithesims! We had a really great time together and ate plenty of delicious food! I tried unagi (eel) for the first time, thank you Yori-san for suggesting it! :3 And thank you for having to deal with my broken Japanese! You were so kind and helpful, I'm really happy that we could meet! <3

I'm still a bit jetlagged and had to go back to work almost immediately so I haven't had time to do much since I've come back, but I feel more energized already. Japan really is my favorite country in the entire world and I wish I could speak the language fluently!
