It really depends on the nature of the lie, doesn’t it?

Are you saying "I'm busy" just to avoid spending time with someone you don't even like/you're not feeling mentally up to it and prefer to stay home/you're too tired... or are you deceiving your partner by claiming you're with friends while the truth is you're having an affair?

Keeping your personal matters private by telling a harmless lie is not the same as inflicting pain on others with your dishonesty.

Not all lies carry the same weight, and it's important to recognize that dishonesty isn't acceptable in every context.

It’s wild how some of you get a kick out of lying to your friends and family, especially when you have strong bonds with them. I’m not talking about white lies; I mean serious lies. Then, when you start losing friends & family and their trust, you act like you’re the victim.

i really try my best to keep my blog discourse/drama free and i don’t want to keep dwelling on this but i do want to say my piece, since apparently people take such issue with woc speaking about the vitriol they’re facing on this site, but this is the last i’ll say about it. this last little while i’ve been noticing a pattern. a lot of you see minorities in fandom spaces and try to drive us out by sending us hate, abusing the anon button to say the most vile abhorrent things (using slurs, threatening rape, and telling us to kill ourselves and that we don’t deserve to be here, and on and on and on) and it’s unacceptable.

and if us speaking up about it upsets you, then you need to take a step back and sort out your priorities. we have every right to express our feelings when we’re being relentlessly dragged through the dirt. if we don’t talk about it and don’t support each other while shit like this happens, people will continue to ignore it and this behavior goes unchanged.

It can be extremely difficult to take constructive criticism, but it's imperative that you work on making yourself a safe person to criticize. People need to know that if they come to you with constructive criticism, you're not gonna explode on them with volatility or start shitting on yourself (which puts them in the uncomfortable position of then having to comfort you). If you act like that, then it's going to be incredibly difficult to maintain healthy relationships of any kind. Communication is key; constructive criticism is part of communication. Be open to the idea that you can be wrong and have things you need to work on, or that you can be wrong and not be the worst person on the planet.

I'm watching this scene again. I think this is the moment where Carmy's unconscious motivations come to light. It's not competition with Sydney here, like I said before.

Now Carmy thinks he has a clear motivation for getting a star, and that's because of Chef David, and he let's Sydney in on that fact 'so they can see what we're capable of'

And when she asks him again, "Why are you doing this?" He stops looking at her and says, "So you can push me, and I can push you."

Note that Carmy feels the urge for a cigarette after saying that.. but decides on a more constructive alternative. He quits smoking, replacing his old habits with a more socially acceptable one.

That's sublimation.

I still can't get over Richie saying "textbook sublimation," btw- (he's definitely read too many books).

Sublimation means, as I mentioned here: - taking unacceptable feelings, desires, and impulses – often sexual or aggressive – and channeling them into positive, socially approved activities like arts or sciences.

Now, watching it again, Carmy's ego is wounded that Sydney may think he can't do it- it's again Carmy puffing his chest like the time he moved his chef jacket or when he adjusted his body when she calls him an excellent chef. And showing off changing the Beef in the first episode.

Richie, is he aware of the tension between them? Look at him! Watch his expression as his eyes shift. He has a habit of observing their arguments.

Also, notice that once the Faks enter, how long Carmy stares at Sydney.

Just trying to scroll through the "Aizawa x Reader" tag and I had to leave angry because someone used the tag to complain about shipping (-᷅_-᷄)

Not only that but they were making fun of someone's fic... The amount of disrespect, I'm fuming (。-`ω´-)

It was one of those ships that one would consider immoral or taboo, your typical "Deku x Aizawa" authors. This person decided to screenshot the authors fic and complain and call it gross and then called the MHA fandom toxic...

How old were they? 18. My age. I feel as though I've seen that behavior back in middle school, but not as an adult.

Not being able to understand another person who isn't hurting you is not an excuse for making their life a living hell for a decade. Bakugou would have been well within his rights to avoid Izuku if he was unnerved by him or their values just couldn't align. And if he just pushed Izuku down in the sandbox and told Izuku he couldn't play with them anymore, Bakugou would still be a little brat but nobody reasonable would be calling him abusive.

But that isn't what happened. Even from Bakugou's own words, he actively beat Izuku down again and again. Because he one-sidedly decided Izuku was looking down on him without ever speaking about it, he terrorized an already marginalized person. This isn't about whether Bakugou should have liked or gotten along with Izuku. It's about Bakugou believing he had the right to violently suppress the people around him that didn't fit into his narrative.

Bakugou clearly had deeply rooted insecurities that needed addressed that weren't handled by the people around him because in their society, physical strength is extrapolated to strength in all instances. But that in no way excuses the harm he committed towards others.
