Fitting Kamala in Ultimate Marvel was a challenge because of how her normal playing grounds were suddenly vaporized (mere months before her smash hit debut in main continuity, mind you). For a while her very likely death was this elephant in the room that I couldn’t just ignore…but then the idea that she could’ve simply been away visiting family overseas hit me one night, and everything else, her grief, her coping mechanisms and her attitude just flowed out.

And, I couldn’t really convey this in the pitch, but thinking about Ultimate Kamala gives me the chance to pass down everything I like about Ultimate Captain America’s approach as a superhero onto her. Hardly anyone exemplifies what it means to be an Ultimate like he does imo, his directness, his theatrical one-liners and stubborn will to go down fighting influence her so heavily that it’s why I’m prone to drawing her scuffed up but firm enough to tell people off; that’s who she spent all that time watching.

Contrasting that attitude with her insecurities is also very fun

See, that’s the thing with dropping characters in this setting. It’s a harsh and unforgiving landscape where our paragons of virtue are instead normal people repeatedly tasked with the impossible, and where failure could mean anything as catastrophic as a hundred figure death count or the outright end of the world. So, the people in it have to be:

1. Tough as nails.

2. Able to dish out as much as they can take, which also has to be a lot.

3. A little nuts (constantly being forced to go nuclear as a first resort does that to a person)

4. Ultimately in love with what they do.

Constructing Ultimate Kamala has been more or less asking what she’d be without New Jersey, and what that person would look like if she stanned the Ultimates rather than the Avengers.

And to answer your question, she’s an Inhuman. The Ultimate Inhumans were this isolationist race of superpowered humanoids sworn to never reveal themselves (until the Fantastic Four finds them), and since the only reason we even learn about them in the first place is because one of them breaking that tradition to explore human civilization, I thought it’d be neat for one of Kamala’s maternal ancestors to be one of them: a shapeshifting Inhuman who assimilated to Pakistani society 50 or 80 years ago. Generations later, Kamala has inherited the impossible control she had over her genetic structure.

But because no one actually knows what an Inhuman is, she’s left confounded by the fact that if she were a mutant, she and her family would’ve quickly underwent sentinel persecution.

I know this might be sudden but I would really like to know your thoughts on my Ultimate Kamala pitch

So with the caveat that I'm really not a huge authority on either Kamala (Civil War II made me dip out of marvel for a couple years and I haven't caught up with her status quo in a bit) or the backhalf of the Ultimate Timeline post-Ultimatum- This seems like a really deft on-point way of hybridizing a lot of the dynamics that make 616 Kamala fun with the ambient deconstructive cynicism of the Ultimate Setting- she's still a cape fangirl but that means something very different in the Ultimate Universe, and with that comes the underlying bleakness of how bad your life situation needs to be for the Ultimates brand of torment-nexus superheroism to look like a plausible escape. I also think it's thematically fitting that you're using Cataclysm as the introduction point- Kamala being to me a very distinctly 616-flavored character in ways you have to negotiate if you're bringing her in, so an incursion by a 616 threat seems like a great time to bring her in as a ripple effect. Kamiles Moments in Marvel Rising Comics (2019)

Miles Morales has a sibling day-out with Shift and Billie Morales when they meet Kamala Khan and Ganke Lee at the art fair. Along the way, they see the literal art thieves led by Black Obsidian. Miles and Kamala fight Black Obsidian and his gang while Shift stays behind to keep Billie, Ganke and the civilians safe. After fighting Black Obsidian, Miles and Kamala bring the stolen art pieces back to the artists.

616-Sam "I have no interest in becoming the team leader and so will instigate fights between the actual candidates for the Chaos" Alexander and USM-Sam "I AM the leader and not Spider-Man" Alexander won't hate each other. But they will be mildly puzzled by the other.

Pov: Miles And Sam Reunited With Kamala After She Came Back From Her Death.

I honestly miss them so much. If I not wrong the writers and the artists in The Champions Vol 4 issue 10 (2021) mentioned about cancelling the Champions comic series.

Marvel destroyed this trio by killing Kamala and excluding Sam (When more Kamiles takes place in comics which I don't hate them lol).

I have a feeling that after the whole Ms Marvel : Mutant Menace comic series, they might bring remaining Champions characters like Sam, Viv, Amadeus and more in writing another Champions comic series with Kamala being the Mutant.

This trio made my childhood days amazing since 2015.😭💕

Pls, don't do something bad to them, Marvel.

Miles Morales, Kamala Khan and Shift chase Bumbler at the rooftop. However, as Bumbler runs to the bar, Miles Morales tries to follow him but he gets kicked out of the bar because he's a minor. After getting scolded by Kamala, Miles contacts his uncle (Aaron Davis, a.k.a Prowler) through his phone to look out for Bumbler in the bar. In the bar, Prowler is talking to Scorpion when he gets a text message from his nephew about the whereabouts of Bumbler. After Scorpion leaves the bar, Bumbler comes in a few moments later, to serve the drinks only to get tackled by Prowler. The two men have a brief fight until Prowler overpowers Bumbler and interrogates him about the tech. After the interrogation, Prowler tells his nephew that Bumbler got a new tech from Rabble.
