Any headcanons for Ultimate Biker Gang Leader Celeste/Taeko?
this one just Clicks
Taeko was a boring person. Celeste was the leader of one of Japan’s biggest and most terrifying biker gangs. She was quite proud of her status, and dressed accordingly.
She was a born leader, able to delegate to and protect those under her wing. Anyone in her gang would have her protection from harm, though she did suggest they not go out finding trouble.
She preferred to skip class so she could rise with her gang, or on her own, though she did deign to attend sometimes. Her classmates didn’t bother her, which was more than fine.
Celeste had many standards, and her classmates hardly met any of them. She would rather be with the people she knew were worthy of her time than those who weren’t.
Her favorite time to ride was at night, when the roads were more empty and everything was darker. It fit her whole aesthetic in the most perfect of ways.

Ok I blame you for this long thing.
Ultimate talents are both legitimate skills and also a bit of "cutie mark" nonsense. Some like Leon, Aoi, and Sakura are able to be measured against other people and that's how you know they earned that talent. A lot of athletic and physical talents are like this.
But then you have weird cases like Kiyotaka, the ultimate Moral Compass/Morals Committee Member. Basically being a stick in a mud, hall monitor, tattletale, boring rule enforcer? That isn't necessary a talent? It leans into the cutie mark nonsense here. Not fully as his talent is moreso a social talent, like Mondo's ultimate biker gang leader or Byakuya's ultimate affluent progeny. His talent is being able to enforce rules, get people to listen to him, and be a force a of nature. The talent title is moreso a way to convey what he does overall.
Then obviously you have the esoteric talents. Hiro's clairvoyant talent is fully supernatural in nature, Celeste is a gambler which is likely illegal, and Hifumi is a doujin author/fanfic author. These are definitely not really measurable and are "cutie mark" nonsense.(1/2)

6. Chihiro Fujisaki, The Ultimate Programmer
7. Mondo Owada, The Ultimate Biker Gang Leader
8. Hifumi Yamada, The Ultimate Fanfic Creator
9. Kiyotaka Ishimaru, The Ultimate Moral Compass
10. Celestia Ludenberg, The Ultimate Gambler
11. Sakura Ogami, The Ultimate Martial Artist
12. Aoi Asahina, The Ultimate Swimming Pro
13. Mukuro Ikusaba, The Ultimate Soldier
14. Toko Fukawa, The Ultimate Writing Prodigy
15. Yasuhiro Hagakure, The Ultimate Clairvoyant
16. Junko Enoshima, The Ultimate Fashionista
Prologue
The Protagonist: Junko Enoshima
The world sees Junko as just a pretty face. They don't know that her true talent isn't modeling, it's analyzing trends. She's simultaneously patronized as an airhead AND totally bored by a world that's too predictable for her brilliant mind. But maybe at Hope's Peak Academy, surrounded by other great talents, she'll finally find people who truly understand her...
Alas, Monokuma has other plans when he seizes control of the school and declares the start of The Killing Game.
Chapter 1: The Cruelty of a Kind Face
Lethal Example: Sayaka Maizono
Antagonist: Aoi Asahina
Partner: Sakura Ogami
Victim: Makoto Naegi
Killer: Toko Fukawa
Junko gravitates towards the bubbly swimming pro Hina. Hina seems to genuinely be what Junko pretends to be: perky, adorable, and simple. Playing along makes Junko feel good about herself.
Beloved pop idol Sayaka Maizono immediately establishes herself as a leader. She declares that they will never kill one another or obey Monokuma, inspiring the class to reb. That is, until Monokuma uses a giant industrial press trap to literally squash their hope--and demonstrate what happens to those who disobey the school rules.
It's not long after that that the first body is discovered: poor, innocent, average Makoto Naegi, only here by chance. His body is found dead by knife wound.
During the trial, a number of factors just don't add up: testimonies contradict one another, clues are out of place, etc. it only starts to make sense once Junko realizes that Hina is intentionally misleading the class. Hina's cutesy, innocent act was so perfect that even Junko was fooled. Like a dark mirror, Hina, too, only pretends to play the innocent, but unlike Junko, she uses people's misconceptions to her benefit, amusing herself by toying with people and creating chaos. Upon realizing she's been tricked, Celeste swears she'll kill Hina for this.
All seems lost until a surprising figure rises to the occasion: Sakura Ogami. At first, Junko was suspicious of the mean-looking martial artist. But now that lives are on the line, Sakura proves an observant and insightful ally, whose patience and kind words help Junko to believe in herself and guide her towards the truth.
The culprit is revealed to be Toko Fukawa. Makoto naively approached her, seeing a kindred spirit in Toko's shy, vulnerable facade and wanting to make a connection. But Toko's paranoia and self-loathing led her to misinterpret Makoto's kindness. Surely this must be a trick. Surely he'd never like an ugly, horrible girl like her. It must be an attempt to murder her. She had to murder him first, don't you see? It is only when it is too late that Toko realizes how wrong she was, and how she murdered the first person who was genuinely kind to her...
In her execution, Toko is surrounded by shadowy puppets who are furiously scribbling mean rumors and insults at her. The "pens" are revealed as blades that tear her to shreds.
Chapter 2: The Double-edged Blade of Justice
Victim: Mukuro Ikusaba
Red Herring: Chihiro Fujisaki
Killer: Hifumi Yamada
This whole time, Junko has been avoiding her sister. She fears that their bond is too broken by past betrayal, and with their different looks, personalities, and names, no one else in class even knows they're related (except for Celeste, who puts it together and taunts Junko for being a liar)
Then Monokuma releases a motive: everyone's deepest, darkest secrets, to be revealed if a murder does not occur within the next day. Junko winces to see that her secret is how she abandoned her sister when they were young, putting her own survival in a tough family over Mukuro's and leaving her to fend for herself. As for Mukuro's secret, well, whatever it is, it shakes her to her core, and she starts behaving erratically, isolating herself and gathering weapons, and everyone suspects that she will be the next killer. Instead she turns up dead, seemingly killed by her own knife.
Meanwhile, Hifumi seems to have turned over a new leaf! Where before he was off-putting and obstructive, he's become charming, helpful, and something of a leader. He forms a particular bond with Chihiro, and many jokes are made about them being a couple.
In the trial, Junko puts the clues together that someone hacked into Monokuma's files and used their findings to blackmail Mukuro into taking her own life. It seems that after Junko left her to become a superstar, Mukuro committed horrible war crimes as part of the Fenrir Mercenary Group, and feared that if anyone learned of the blood on her hands, they would never accept her. Since only the Ultimate Programmer could accomplish such a feat, that makes Chihiro suspect #1.
Indeed, Chihiro admits to hacking the secrets but not to blackmailing Mukuro. Junko pressures Hifumi until he cracks, admitting that he took advantage of Chihiro, using the secrets himself. The pressure of the Killing Game drove Hifumi to disconnect from reality and he began viewing everything through the lens of his favorite manga: a pastiche of Death Note in which he cast himself as Light, roleplaying as a charming and competent sociopath.
As he goes to his execution, Hifumi awakens to the reality of his misdeeds and begs for forgiveness. Chihiro reaches down in sympathy, but when he goes to take Chihiro's hand, it turns out to be nothing but a flimsy cardboard cutout--only 2d-- that he breaks through, falling to his death in the chasm below.
Chapter 3: Dynamic Detectives on the case of the Occult!
Victim #1 Kyoko Kirigiri
Victim #2 Byukuya Togami
Killer: Yasuhiro Hagakure
Monokuma's motive this time is cold, hard cash. Byukuya and Kyoko laugh off this paltry motive. As the two (apparently) smartest students, they begin working together in earnest to investigate who the mastermind behind Monokuma really is.
Celeste and Junko end up in a fight as they each accuse the other of not appreciating money as a motive, since they both assume that the other has never endured real hardship. When they open up about the difficulties of their pasts, they actually start to make amends.
Byukuya and Kyoko gather everyone together to share their findings, but when the class arrives they find them both dead, strangled, with a message in blood warning of the school's curse.
The investigation and trial prove to be a comedy of errors as everyone gets paranoid about the supernatural and Hina does her best to make the ghosts and demons seem real. Sakura's cool head helps Junko see past the distractions and tension to the rational truth: that Yasuhiro used charlatan's tricks to trap and suffocate the two victims and make it look like the work of a ghost.
It seems Yasuhiro is deeply in debt and not only wanted the money, but saw the killing game as an opportunity to become a massive star: the heroic Occult Detective who faced down Death Itself. A story like that would be worth millions, but not if he gets upstaged by a couple of smart detectives in suits.
Yasuhiro's execution is an obstacle course themed after a haunted house, with whirling blades help by ghosts, fire-breathing demon heads, etc. He stumbles at the first hurdle and impales himself on a plastic skeleton.
Chapter 4: The Traitor's Note
Traitor: Mondo Owada
Monokuma reveals that he has planted a traitor among them. Accusations and paranoia tear the class apart. Then Mondo's body is discovered, torn to shreds, identifiable only by his clothes and pompadour. It appears that the traitor left a threatening message at the scene of the crime.
Junko's investigation reveals that Mondo himself was the traitor. Before the Killing Game started, Mondo was insecure in his position, afraid he would never live up to his brother's legacy, and surrounded by rivals vying for head of their gang. The Mastermind offered to make his rivals disappear if he agreed to lure his classmates into the Killing Game and assure everything went according to their plan. Seeing the pain he'd caused, Mondo killed himself out of guilt, and Hina staged the body and the note.
Everyone's getting real tired of her shit about now.
Chapter 5: Liars Prosper
Victim: Aoi Asahina
Fall Guy: Celestia Ludenberg
No one is buying Hina's peppy, innocent schtick anymore. They decide to hold her prisoner in the pool's locker room so she can't cause any more trouble--only to shortly thereafter find her drowned in the pool.
Junko finds herself torn between her analytical talent and her heart. All the evidence points to Celeste being the culprit: she had the opportunity, she left physical evidence at the scene of the crime, and she publically fought with and threatened Hina on multiple occasions. But you see...
Celeste and Junko hated each other on sight. They were like oil and water. But what they discovered over the course of the game was that they understood one another in a way that no one else did. Although their personas could not be more different, at their cores they were both girls who became what they needed to in order to survive. And beneath that, they craved genuine connection: a person who accepted the real them. And they found that in one another.
Celestia swears that she did not kill Hina, but of course no one believes her, because she is the Queen of Liars. Junko's word alone is not enough to save her. Her execution is, fittingly, being burned at the stake in a witch-hunt.
Chapter 6: Final Match of the Killing Game Tournament
Mastermind: Sakura Ogami
Survivors: Junko, Taka, Leon, Chihiro
Junko believes so sincerely that the last trial was falsely concluded that she challenges Monokuma to relitigate it. If she can prove that Celeste was innocent, was executed in error, then the Mastermind must reveal themselves and end the game.
Junko investigates, but what she finds is deeply troubling. The only person who could have killed Hina was the one they all trusted without question: Sakura Ogami, who had been set to watch over her, and who claimed to have been tricked by Celeste into leaving her post.
Sakura admits that Hina had tearfully confessed to her before she died. Hina felt remorse for having manipulated and hurt her friends. As much as she hated being underestimated and talked down to, she realized that she couldn't hold these people personally responsible for all her past pain and disappointment. She said that she admired Sakura's straightforwardness, her insight, her calm acceptance of reality and wanted to be like her. She swore she's so everything in her power from now on to bring down the Mastermind. So Sakura killed her.
And why had she done all this? Why did Sakura Ogami orchestrate the Killing Game? Simple: she believes in the purpose of Hope's Peak Academy but believes that they do not live up to their ideal. They coddle their students' idiosyncrasies, letting their potential languish. The Killing Game is a whetstone on which to hone one's talent. Whoever wins must surely be The Ultimate Hope.
And isn't Junko the proof of that? After all, Sakura guided her all along, helped her bring her Ultimate Analyst Talent to new heights, breaking through every barrier, solving every case. And by exposing her, Junko had at last bested Sakura, too.
Sakura went honorably to her execution after being exposed as Hina's true killed, enduring each of the previous executions in turn.
The survivors--Junko, Leon, Chihiro, and Taka--leave the school, free but forever changed by Sakura's parting words, no longer believing in the ideal of Hope's Peak, but finally trusting and understanding one another.
This was really fun! Curious if anyone else would want to give something like this a try or if I should do the other games in the future.

So um...
DANGANRONPA NON-DESPAIR AU
Everything is normal except Hamilton is smushed in here somehow?
So basically the idea is that class 78 has to do something for an upcoming school festival right? Sayaka suggests doing a musical, Leon agrees because he thinks this is about to be a Shakespeare situation where he can kiss her as the lead role. Asuhina is excited because musicals include dancing and singing and having so so so so so much fun together! Yay! Sakura agrees after seeing how happy this makes Hina.
Toko says this is a dumb idea that'll just end up with all the work being dumped on her (since she's the Ultimate writer so she'll have experience with developing plot) and the brainless bimbo popstar (Since she's the Ultimate idol so she'll have experience with music). Byakuya agrees with her (which she goes crazy about for a quick second) since now everyone can sing and dance like Maizono-san wastes her time doing.
Kiyotaka interjects here and happily (and loudly) says that this is a great opportunity to learn a new skill. He says they should do it. Mondo cuts in hesitantly, not wanting to go against his bro, but also kinda seeing the Toko chick and the Douchebag's point. The can't just write a whole new musical and learn the lines and dance moves in a month and a half.
Hifumi suggests that they use a story that currently exists, he has many amazing doujins already made and ready for re-enacting. Celeste giggles quietly before building on his suggestion. Maybe they shouldn't use something from a book, but an actual musical so they didn't have to go through the hassle of converting the stories to song. Something historic and memorable.
Yasuhiro shivers, stammering through a plea that the musical isn't too horrific. Horror musicals carry bad vibes and usually means that all of the planning will go wrong. Junko takes that moment to sneak up behind him and shake him, giggling when he jumps out of his seat in surprise. She rests against the chair he was previously sitting in, adding that the musical can't be all rainbows and lollipops. There has to be some despair sadness in it to captivate the audience.
Chihiro, who had been tapping away at their tablet since the beginning of the class meeting, pipes up that they might have found a musical that satisfies everyone and has characters that could fit some of their classmates. They flip the tablet over, showcasing the golden background with a single black star and a silhouette pointing up to everyone else.
Everyone could've guessed that the idol immediately knew the musical despite the absence of a title. When she started beaming, not one person even bat an eye. What no one expected was the Ultimate Biker Gang leader jerking out of his chair, unintentionally slamming his hands on the table with eyes that shown almost as bright as Taka's when hes determined, and shouting the title loud enough to make the tablet holding Tech Wiz flinch.
Hamilton
It took some explaining from a hopeful Sayaka, proud Chihiro, and flustered Mondo, but everyone seemed satisfied (or just dismissive in Byakuya and Mukuro's case) about preforming Hamilton. It was historical, information, enjoyable, well-written, and easy enough to learn for a bunch of Ultimates!
Now they just needed to figure out who's taking what role.

Honestly what’s even funnier is that Jin Kirigiri put the following students in the same class:
- Ultimate Biker Gang Leader (Guy who likes to commit crimes sometimes. like speeding 😦)
- Ultimate Gambler (Double whammy here: not only is gambling illegal, Celeste is also underage!)
- Ultimate uhh (checks notes) Murderous Fiend (as the abridged series put it “super duper stabby mc murder”)
- Ultimate Soldier (not *illegal* per se but. Last I checked you can’t join the military as a high schooler)
- aND THE ULTIMATE DETECTIVE???????????? THE ULTIMATE DETECTIVE WHO JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE HIS DAUGHTER??????????? JIN BUDDY WHAT WERE YOU ON 😭😭😭
some of the talents in danganronpa make absolutely no sense what the fuck is an ultimate robot

You wanna hear a super angsty au idea? Taka just so happens to walk in when Mondo bludgeons Chihiro with the dumbbell. Taka's first instinct is to try and resuscitate Chihiro, who is unconscious but just holding on. When it becomes clear that Chihiro is going to die regardless, Taka makes an impulse decision. He delivers the killing blow himself.
First of all how dare you.
Second of all...That’s a very good idea.
Off topic for a sec. I’ve always thought that Taka is capable of killing, that ALL of the students are. But I can’t see him killing for selfish reasons. Taka wouldn’t kill just to escape. Either he’d do it to save someone else, or protect something worth dying for. Either way, I have a hard time thinking of a situation where he’d actually try to escape. Taka wouldn’t be willing to sacrifice the lives of others for his own.
But to sacrifice his life to save someone he cares about? Yes.
And honestly, though it’s so far from what we’re used to with his character, I can see it. Taka would freak out of course, do everything in his power to keep Chihiro alive. He has to, because if he fails than both Chihio and Mondo will die. And in that moment, there’s no rebuke of Mondo, no thought on his friend’s character that he’d do something like this. Just the raw terror of seeing someone die right before his eyes.
Giving up is something that isn’t in Taka’s character. He doesn’t give up. He keeps fighting tooth and nail for what he wants, regardless of how much it hurts. But that willingness to sacrifice and suffer is for him and him alone.
But in that gym? Watching someone bleed out and convulse in his arms? That’s a totally different situation. If it were his life on the line, he’d keep trying to help Chihiro until the body started to cool. But someone else, Mondo, will die if he can’t fix this!
And that panic, that sudden realization that Mondo will die, is enough to make Taka pause in his panicked attempts to slow the bleeding. If Chihiro dies, Mondo will be a murderer. He’ll be killed, executed. And that...terrifies Kiyotaka.
Taka doesn’t have many friends. In fact, he had none before Mondo. All his work in the morals committee got him the sneers and hate of his classmates. And so having now made a friend, the kind of connection Taka had longed for but could never grasp...Taka’s unwilling to let that die. He’s unwilling to let Mondo die.
So Taka gives up, at least on saving Chihiro. He accepts that it’s something his hard work can’t fix.
But he can save Mondo.
And really, it’s not like it changes anything, right? He’s the leader, the one tasked with keeping everyone together. Any death that happens within Hope’s Peak is HIS fault, because he’s meant to be guiding everyone down the right path. Thus, him killing Chihiro is no different from the fact that he allowed Leon and Sayaka to die. At least here, someone else won’t take the fall for his failures.
If Taka were left to his own devices, it would be a quick trial. He’d have no reason to hide what he’d done, because doing so would make his whole goal pointless.
But he isn’t left to his own devices. Mondo’s there.
And Mondo...I’m not sure what his initial reaction would be. Shock at what had happened, anger that Taka would throw his life away for someone like him, relief that he isn’t going to die... I’m not sure. But whatever it is, I think Mondo would ultimately decide that he has to save Kiyotaka
He’s already a murderer. He killed Daiya with his pride, then killed Chihiro because he was weak. Now he’s about to drag Kiyotaka down with him. Another victim in the long list of his fuck ups.
But a man doesn’t let others take the fall for his mistakes. He already did that to two people. Mondo wouldn’t let Taka be next.
So Mondo, as Taka’s cleaning up and trying to make Chihiro’s body look as neat as possible, is planning. Mondo’s not really a plan guy. He’s the ‘rush in and knock heads’ type. But he’s also the leader of the biggest biker gang in Japan. When he needs to be tactical, he CAN be.
And he’s got to be tactical to save Kiyotaka.
Taka’s not going to let him take the fall. He’ll label himself the killer as quickly as possible and all but begged Monokuma to kill him.
So Mondo has to force him into it.
From what I see, he’s got two options. He can ALSO confess, make it look like Taka’s trying to take the blame to save his friend. It’d be a hard case, because it’d just be his word against Taka’s. He’d got like a 50% chance of that working.
Second option is to make Taka forget what happened. Which wouldn’t exactly be easy, but it’s possible. Mondo’s been fighting for YEARS, he’s been surviving on the streets. I’m sure he knows how to make someone forget the last couple of hours, be it through knocking them in the head the right way, or drugging them.
And sure, Mondo wouldn’t do that kind of thing usually. He’s not some prick going around putting stuff in a girl’s drink. But being on the streets for as long as he has, Mondo would definitely understand how that stuff works, if only so he can stop it.
Whatever way he picks, I see Mondo pulling a bit of a Celeste in this latter option. Laying an unconscious Taka out, covering him with blood, and making it look like he was attacked and survived. And just PRAYING he doesn’t remember killing Chihiro, so Mondo can take the fall and he can escape.
All and all it’s a very interesting idea. Mainly because it puts the two strong determinations of our lads against one another. Both are terrified of losing a brother, so much so that they’re willing to die to save them.
And honestly, if Mondo can manage to make Taka forget about killing Chi, I think he could successfully frame himself. All the evidence would point to him, not to mention that it’s far easier to think Mondo attacked Chi than Taka.
Imagine that situation. Imagine Taka, desperate and horrified, insisting Mondo would never kill someone despite all the evidence pointing to the contrary. And he’s begging them, sobbing and crying, begging them not to kill his only friend. A man who he’d do anything to save.
Only for them to vote anyway...and to be wrong.  And for one flash, there’s this burning anger. He told them, told them that Mondo was a good man, that he would never kill anyone. If only they listened, if only anyone ever listened. If only he were a better leader.
But then he hears Monokuma congratulating him of all people. Congratulating him on graduating, successfully killing Chihiro.
It would be a horrifying moment. Angry and frightened shots being thrown his way, accusing him of getting them all killed. And Taka doesn’t remember it, doesn’t believe he could ever do something like that. He would never, right? He’s not like his grandfather, he’s not a bad person. He would never hurt anyone for selfish gain.
And yet here he is, being accused for a crime he honestly cannot remember.
Monokuma, the monster he is, wouldn’t let that stand. Of COURSE he’d show the video, show Taka desperately pounding a dumbell into Chihiro’s skill, slamming it down until he’s sure the smaller boy is dead. Making sure everyone gets a good long look at that once white uniform stained red.

Can we hear about everyone's favourite gremlin Ultimate Affluent Progeny! Chihiro blease? Cause Cheero is literally the best character ever and I love her muchly
of course of course!!! I talked a bit about her here but let’s see what else I can remember about her >:)
- ULTIMATE LUCKY STUDENTS HATE THEM!!! YOU WON’T BELIEVE WHAT SHE’S DONE [click now!!!]
- no seriously catch Celeste and Hifumi out here trying to wrangle this child into. y’know. NOT ACCIDENTALLY KILLING EVERYONE 😭
- so we all know what normal togami does in chapter 2. This au’s answer to that is - drumroll please - Chihiro fucking with the crime scene specifically to protect Kyoko!!!! She knows that something bad will happen if Kyoko’s found out as the killer, so she actively messes with the evidence around Yasuhiro’s body as a means of protecting the biker gang leader!
- once that’s discovered during the trial (and once Celeste is THOROUGHLY PISSED) Chihiro doesn’t give up! In fact, they rally everybody to vote for themselves in order to save Kyoko! With Togami’s help, people begin buying into it and wondering if maybe that’s really the best option……after all, they don’t want to watch another one of their friends be killed…….
- Kyoko herself is the one to stop that. She admits to the murder, but also encourages everyone to listen to Celeste and Hifumi. She apologizes to Sayaka. And she demands that everyone stand against Monokuma together, but on their own terms. She wants them to win, because she knows they can do it. She goes to her punishment peacefully, much to the dismay of Chihiro and Byakuya.
- speaking of Chihiro and Byakuya, let’s talk more about them!!!! They’re besties in this au. Chihiro was like “If I vote for someone, it’s like killing them myself!” And Togami was like “wow. so selfless. 🥺👏❤️”
- Chihiro BREATHES and Celeste is like “were it not for the laws of this land I would have slaughtered you”
- she’s the epitome of that “just buy another one” video I love her so much HDNSBDND
- “quit your job and join my capitalist corporation”
- god I can definitely see them listening to Mondo rambling about his fanfiction/favorite shows. Like wow something so simple makes her friend happy???? oh my goodness :0
- and her and Taka???? PLEASE they’re probably AMAZED by Taka’s physical ability!!! Imagine him trying to teach her about baseball and her just staring at him with wide, eager eyes
- and her and Leon, too!!! She’s like “gamble with me!!!! >:)” so he does and she IMMEDIATELY loses but claps her hands anyway like a toddler because it’s so amusing to her 😭
- SHE HAS OFFERED MONOKUMA MONEY ON MANY OCCASIONS TO GO AWAY AND STOP THE KILLING GAME AKSHSMSNDNS IT NEVER WORKS BUT SHE NEVER STOPS TRYING-

the chapter one motive is the same as in canon - motive videos. some of the loved ones are different, though. with sayaka not being a part of her group, her motive video is of her younger sister. sakura’s motive video is also different. her captive is the same as hina’s, since yuta is a member of her gang, and essentially holds the same position that takemichi did for mondo in canon. (also, because of this, sakura and hina know each other already). the rest of the motive videos remain the same (subject to change). sayaka freaks out similarly to canon, and as the player, you see her prepare a murder. her target is makoto, and she’s just about to carry it out, her intuition tells her to hesitate, and she does. and then the body discovery announcement goes off.
toko is found dead (not sure of the specifics exactly), and the first investigation starts. hiro assists sayaka in her investigation, giving her a lot of helpful tips and nudges. the atmosphere during the first investigation is extremely heavy. anyway, during the trial it comes out that junko invited leon over to her room the night before with the intent to kill him, almost did, but decided against it after he fought her off. and then they hooked up instead. there’s… a lot going on with those two. mukuro is exhausted. anyway, sayaka’s plan comes to light, and finally, some inconsistencies show up and sayaka figures out that hiro tampered with the crime scene. at this point, hiro pulls a komaeda and turns from support to antag. finally, the actual blackened is revealed to be byakuya. as the programmer, he has all the understanding of this being a game with set rules that canon byakuya has, without the experience of being the togami heir. he doesn’t feel the need to hesitate when the rules of the game are laid out, and he trusts that what they’re told initially is all there is to it. he wasn’t expecting things to be switched up on him, and he especially wasn’t expecting execution. he is understandably, extremely upset when he’s voted as the blackened.
chapter 2
the chapter 2 motive is still the secret motive, although i haven’t really figured out the specifics yet? i do know that whatever taka’s secret is puts him on edge. he ends up planning an elaborate locked door mystery, and kills celeste. hifumi and celeste were childhood friends in this au, and although both of their memories of their friendship were erased (along with… well, a great deal of the rest of hifumi’s memories), the two were drawn to each other regardless. they investigated during the first case together, and i think hifumi was the one to figure out that sayaka had attempted to kill makoto, thanks to something celeste pointed out in the trial. point is, the two of them worked well together, and finding celeste’s body hits HARD, which is a little confusing to hifumi since, to his knowledge, they only just met. anyway, hifumi as a detective still works through cases by viewing them through a fictional lens, which is how he’s able to deal with them. and, although he doesn’t have that context, it’s how he worked through the first case. this one is different. which is strange because it’s the perfect murder mystery. anyway, it’s a sort of wakeup call for hifumi. anyway, makoto has fallen into the support role in hiro’s absence. he’s doing it to assure sayaka that he forgives her, because he’s makoto, and of course when someone tries to kill him he’s bending over backwards to make sure they know he forgives them for it. anyway, the investigation, trial and execution are ROUGH, for taka, hifumi and mondo especially.
chapter 3
the chapter three motive remains the same, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the case. chihiro, as the soldier, approaches hina with a plan. chihiro is used to getting a team out. she’s not sure how, but she needs someone to die first. and chihiro expects the ultimate moral compass to understand. to be willing to make that sacrifice. and hina does agree. at first. but when she’s faced with her death in the moment, all hina can think of is yuta. and she acts emotionally, lashes out, and kills chihiro. now, obviously the thing she overlooked in the moment is that there’s going to be a trial now, and covering for herself would be sentencing sakura to death. something she is Not going to do. and she realizes that regardless, she’s going to be leaving yuta alone, and sakura, and just. she needs to lay down. she doesn’t plan on covering her tracks at all, but she’ll confess in the morning.
morning comes, she returns to the scene of the crime, and there is an extra body. kyoko’s. hina freaks out, doesn’t end up confessing to chihiro’s murder, and the investigation proceeds as usual. during the trial, hina is voted the blackened for both murders, even though she’s swearing up and down she only killed chihiro. this distinction is important, because she killed chihiro in a panic and out of self defense. the idea that she killed kyoko too, when there was no real reason to do so other than to cover her tracks, counters the narrative that she was planning to confess, and potentially even implies that she killed for the money motive. and again. this is the ultimate moral compass we’re talking about. the idea that her friends believe she would do something like that? people she respects? it’s awful. but nobody can figure out an alternative explanation. sakura, however, fully believes that hina didn’t kill kyoko, and even tries to interfere in hina’s execution (at the very least, she tries to keep hina from being dragged away).
chapter 4
by chapter four, makoto’s been tagging along with sayaka for a while, and he’s noticed how sayaka operates. she always follows her intuition. no matter what. because her intuition is linked with her luck (when she follows her intuition, good things happen), she’s learned to just go with the flow for her entire life. she genuinely doesn’t have any real autonomy. makoto encourages her to do something for herself for once, and she takes his words to heart. the next time she feels that pull? she ignores it. and then she finds makoto’s body the next morning.
during the investigation, junko and leon become sayaka’s joint supports. they mesh with her style of investigation really well, actually. sayaka just follows where her intuition tells her to look, while leon and junko are just picking shit up, messing with it, interacting with the crime scene. they’ll end up in a room that seems completely unrelated to the crime and they’ll discover a vital clue.
anyway, the trial happens, and they figure out that sakura was the one to kill makoto. she had found evidence pointing to him as the traitor, and she made the connection that it was likely makoto who killed kyoko, and that hina was telling the truth. the trial is… a downer, to say the least. they’re presented with two options - that hina didn’t kill kyoko, but still killed chihiro, or that makoto didn’t kill kyoko, but was still the traitor, working with the mastermind. and either way, one of them killed kyoko unnecessarily. this also recontextualizes makoto becoming sayaka’s support after she attempted to kill him - while it was partially because makoto genuinely forgave sayaka and didn’t want her to feel bad, because he’s just that kind of guy - a part of him hoped that, if his being the traitor eventually came to light, she’d extend that same forgiveness to him.
chapter 5
they aren’t presented with a motive in chapter five, but hiro winds up dead regardless. the investigation is again, pretty heavy, since in spite of everything, sayaka recognized hiro as a constant throughout the investigations. she’s hit a lot harder by his death than she would’ve expected. it’s especially hard in the wake of the previous trial. junko and leon still work with her as joint supports, but the atmosphere is one of defeat. hiro, in spite of being generally chaotic, was the oldest one there, and had moments of looking out for the rest of them in their own way. during the investigation and the trial, all signs point to sayaka as the culprit, with her having been framed by the mastermind. she’s voted as the blackened, and is executed in a pinball-style execution that emphasizes how she’s essentially pulled around by her luck/intuition, with her just getting knocked around between pins. when she hits the pins, they light up and display her dead classmate’s faces. it’s fun. her execution fails because she feels a strong pull to move to the side at the last second, and just barely manages to move herself and use her momentum to fall a certain way. so she falls down into the trash chute rather than to her death. the fact that her luck/intuition is what saves her, when it’s the main thing her execution is mocking her with makes it so this doesn’t really feel like a victory at all.
chapter 6
when sayaka ends up in the garbage, she just lies there for a WHILE. she’s bruised, she’s just fallen FAR, she got framed for murder, her friends voted her as the blackened, she got her friend’s deaths thrown in her face, as well as the utter lack of control she has over her life, and that point was only proven by the way she was able to survive, and to top it off, for once, her intuition is silent. it’s only when junko and leon come down to save her that she actually gets up and starts looking around. she decides (without the help of her intuition, which is still silent) to search through the garbage for some sort of a sign, remembering something that hiro had told her, seemingly inconspicuously, just an hour or so before his death. she searches through the garbage methodically, completely unlike her usual methods of investigation, and finds a piece of evidence that hiro had left for her to find. the three of them emerge from the garbage, evidence in hand, and sayaka calls for a retrial, monokuma gives them the final ultimatum, and those of them who remain (sayaka, junko, leon, mukuro, mondo and hifumi) investigate the school together, similarly to canon.
during the trial, they clear sayaka’s name, and piece together that hiro was actually taken out by the mastermind for figuring out some information too early. his motives are also recontextualized somewhat, as it’s shown that he was genuinely trying to help the rest of them escape, and that he merely fell into the role of the antagonist as it was an easy one for him to play. as the gambler, he relied on his own luck and intuition (similarly to sayaka), and was trying his hardest independently to look out for the rest of them as best as he could, to push them (particularly sayaka) to grow, as he saw a lot of himself in her, and to solve the mysteries left in the school). additionally, they come to the conclusion that the only person who could have killed hiro was kyoko, who had faked her own death and pinned it on hina. at this point, kyoko reveals herself, and also reveals that she wasn’t the only mastermind. mukuro and kyoko planned the killing game together, and boy do they have some pent up resentment, particularly towards sayaka and junko.
during the lost years at hope’s peak, kyoko and mukuro were drawn to each other, and unfortunately, drew more and more into each other while essentially cutting themselves off from the rest of the world. junko, although not malicious, wasn’t exactly sister of the year, and was never really able to connect with mukuro. as junko made less and less of an effort to invite mukuro along with her, mukuro grew more and more resentful of her lack of effort, blind to the fact that she wasn’t exactly making it easy for junko to get along with her. meanwhile, kyoko has a lot of anger at her father, at her ultimate (seeing as it’s linked to her family), with the ultimate system in general, etc. their despair fed off of each other. the only person who continued to make an effort to connect with them in spite of everything was makoto, which is why they chose him as the traitor. it’s an honor. it’s an injustice. of course, seeing makoto jump to sayaka’s side was a little infuriating, but seeing junko and leon do the same thing in the wake of his death? mukuro resents sayaka so much. because makoto was her friend too, and instead of her sister coming to her side, she comes to the aid of this airheaded, normal girl? it’s infuriating. anyway, the mastermind reveal is terrifying because these two have sooo much pent up resentment and anger. the five of them that are left figure out all the rest of the mysteries of the school and of the tragedy, they make the decision to leave the school, and kyoko and mukuro are executed together.
the survivors are sayaka, junko, leon, mondo and hifumi.
i have a dr2 swap figured out in this universe as well (although at this point i’ve only assigned talents, and have yet to figure out the death order), as well as an EXTREMELY modified udg equivalent, which i’ll probably also post about. anyway if you read this far thank you, and feel free to send in asks about this au if there’s anything you’re curious about!! i went on a few tangents in this explanation, and uh . there’s plenty more where that came from, if you’re curious.

I started watching a walkthrough of danganronpa; honest character opinions so far:
⚠⚠⚠
might be offensive to some people, i said honest, i meant honest
also if any theories are right then, oops, i accidentally spoiled it
Monokuma - weird, quite annoying, good job VA!!!, I like the song that plays in the background whenever he’s there, for some reason I kinda like (him?), obviously suspicious, is he really a robot bear? Idk
Makoto Naegi (Ultimate Lucky Student) - seems nice, if it’s his head we’re looking at then I don’t think he has any bad motives (so far), pretty smart i think, quite lucky, HIS BATHROOM DOOR WILL BE IMPORTANT
Aoi Asahina (Ultimate Swimming Pro) - kinda airhead at first, I liked her at first sight, no bad motives???, hasn’t talked much until recently, has sense, seems to care for others???, doesn’t seem suspicious
Byakuya Togami (Ultimate Affluent Progeny) - kind of a jerk, I don’t like him-, suspicious, doesn’t care about anyone, Tsukishima 2.0 (but worse), probably won’t hesitate to kill
Celestia Ludenberg (Ultimate Gambler) - Celeste, seems to be lying about everything (especially with her specialty), very suspicious, always makes ominous remarks (“you will die”), smart and has good view on situation (“you shouldn’t show weakness”), very suspicious, suggested the “night rule", I like her voice
Chihiro Fujisaki (Ultimate Programmer) - very quiet, seems all cute and nice, is this a facade???, not very suspicious
Hifumi Yamada (Ultimate Fanfic Creator) - i hate him, he’s annoying, an insult to fanfic creators, not suspicious, is probably genuinely scared and nervous, likes food???
Junko Enoshima (Ultimate Fashionista) - not really suspicious, but might not hesitate to kill, also seems scared and relies on others to get her out, shows weakness
Kiyotaka Ishimaru (Ultimate Moral Compass) - Taka, Iida 2.0, passionate about doing good, so probably not suspicious, won’t kill
Kyoko Kirigiri (Ultimate ???) - suspicious because we don’t know much bout her, her suggestions and hints seen to have good motives, I like her, also a simp for her
Leon Kuwata (Ultimate Baseball Star) - nice i guess, Kirishima and Hawks’s secret love child, [redacted] he’s probably gonna be one of the first to die
Mondo Owada (Ultimate Biker Gang Leader) - rude but has nice moments, his hair bothers me so much, seems suspicious when he’s being nice
Sakura Ogami (Ultimate Martial Artist) - seems cool, not suspicious, strong???, good motives probably, idk what else
Sayaka Maizono (Ultimate Pop Sensation) - “ultimate assistant”, kinda pretty, nice so far (but hear me out) what if the game is making you think she’s some nice built-in assistant, BUT she has other motives and/or turns bad, what if she kills someone to stay popular??????!!!!!
Toko Fukawa (Ultimate Writing Prodigy) - I don’t like her,[redacted] she’s all jumpy and nervous especially during the discussion about [redacted], i really don’t like her, she’s a little rude, she’s gonna kill someone
Yasuhiro Hagakure (Ultimate Clairvoyant) - I honestly don’t like him even if he’s nice, to ignorant and joking, he has the AUDACITY to joke around in a LIFE OR DEATH situation, he’s too old for this school >:( ... but maybe he’s good???

OKAY WE STARTING OFF STRONG W/ SWIMMER MAKOTO BECAUSE I ACTUALLY HAVE A SWIMMER MAKOTO IN ONE OF MY SWAP AUS AND SO I ALREADY LOVE HIM
Baseball Kyoko 😳
Byakyuya as the Ultimate Clairvoyant is absolutely hillarious to me, because if this is 1. Hiro's Talent is unchanged 2. He'd be his usual stuck up self,,, cause Byakuya. Which means,,, everyone is like "... Only 30%?"
I've also see. Nurse Toko,, and Hina as just not having one But having her upbeat cheery self.
Obssesed w/ Prince/Princess Hiro 🥺🥺 also implies that Hiroko is a Queen and honestly good for her
Luck Sayaka 👀👀 Am intrigued. Same w/ Anthropologist Leon
Mukuro a Gymnast, Hmm 🤔 okay. I dont think I have an opinion of it either way
AFLUENT PROGIENY CHI 👀👀 ABSOLUTELY BONKERS AND ID LOVE
MA Mondo and Biker Taka is lovely and they are still strong (obvs) and they'd still have a battle in the sauna. Love~
Gamer!!! Hifumi!!! He is still a nerd!! Yay!!
Celeste as a Muscian 🤔 Hmmm, I like
Fanfic Sakura!! Ahhh!! Yess!! Just this gorgeous muscular woman and she's like "Yeah, I write fanfic" She's still serious and driven and just 🥺 Yes yes yes!
Photographer Junko, cause despair w/ selfie sticks /joke
[[So I'm losing steam so I might not react to every character from here on out]]
Hajime, His mind mini game is no longer skateboarding he just dancing~
Souda too Hajime: Look :DD!! I found this cool bug dude :DD!!
Hajime:... okay Souda
Inventor Sonia 😳😳 Yess
WE HAVE DECTECTIVE TWOGAMI AND IBUKI AND DARE I SAY THIS IS JUST BEUTIFUL TWOBUKI CONTENT!!!
Imposter Hiyoko, whoever she's impersonating just loves gummies (and is short) even if real them wouldn't. I cant tell if itd be funnier if she was impersonating Clairyovant Byakuya or Afflient Proginy Chi
Robot Nekomaru, you mean Mechamaru but at the start of the game? Jsjejdjejej
Gamblr Gundham is great, I'd find it hillarious that dice is just tucked in his scarf and Sonia is like "Gudham :D! You dropped this!!" When it falls
Adventurer Chikai 👀👀👀 I have a mighty need
*
Shuichi as a fashionista is honestly great but wild w/ his canon anxieties
BREEDER MAKI DEVAS LIVE W/ HER YES I MAKE THE RULES I LOVE THIS
Yakuzu Kaede 👀👀 and Swordsman Kaito 👀👀 Absolutely
Also Rantaro as the Shsl leader would just be so great as well
SOILDER KIYO?! YES ABSOLUTELY I NEED THE DESIGN
MORAL COMPASS MIU SJSJJSKALAKSJSJKSJSNSL SHE- SHE HHHHHHH OH BOY THIS IS ABSOLUTELY HILLARIOUS CONCEPT
Mechanic Tsumugi 🥺 I'd dig it
Magician Kiibo but he's also still a robot. People try to ask him about it and hes like "Robots!!! Can!!! Have!! Talents!! Too!! Dont be robophobic" and goes back to shuffling his deck

Hii! idk if this goes against the rules (hopefully not) but can i request ishimaru having an ultimate rulebreaker twin sister??? idk i feel like itd be totally chaotic and she'll have a lot of fights with mondo once in a while 😳
I love this request ^^ Don't worry, it's in no way breaking my rules since it isn't a romantic relationship between the two of them. Also, I know you sent in another request asking for it to be Non-Despair AU but I also like this idea for the Killing Game Angst so I'll add a bit of that to the end. Thank you for requesting!
We all hail Ishimondo in this household.
-Mod Rantaro
.
I personally like to think that you are a rule breaker because of Grandfather Ishimaru, but it could just be your human instincts kicking in harder than Taka’s or another reason.
The people around you two are always confused on how the twin sister of Kiyotaka Ishimaru became so reckless and chaotic, but they just go along with it and find you two balance each other out in a nice way despite being total opposites.
Taka has bandaged you up and stuff multiple times after your multiple fights. He has scolded you many, MANY, times, but he still does somewhat appreciate when you stick up for him against someone for his sake.
(At some point you have 100% begged for you and Taka to switch places for a day, to which he always disagrees to as nicely as he can since he doesn’t want you to do anything bad under his name)
You very much love the gayness of Mondo and Taka, he’s finally broken a stupid rule in Japan and you enjoy it a lot. You also enjoy that he’s with the Ultimate Biker Gang Leader, aka a fellow rulebreaker. But that doesn’t mean you won’t play pranks and stuff on him, which also includes testing his strength every once in a while.
Taka definitely doesn’t enjoy when you two get into fights, but he gets used to it soon enough, the patching you two up and scolding you two I mean.
Mondo didn’t really like you at first, but he comes to enjoy the forever ongoing fight of who can get more of Taka’s attention and affection.
  Overall very wholesome stuff.
Now, Despair Universe stuff! A lot of spoilers and angst from here on, so if you don’t want to get spoiled for DR1 then please move to the next thing that Tumblr gives you!
.
You have this sudden.... Urge to assert your dominace as soon an you see Mondo. You’re confused to why you want to fight very specifically him and not someone who seems stronger like Sakura, but Taka holds you back.
As the Ultimate Rulebreaker, when you figured out you were in a Killing Game which had rules that were able to be broken, your first instinct was obviously to break them. So obviously, you broke them.
Of course since it was the first time someone broke a rule Monokuma let you off with a wraning, and Taka kept a very close eye on you from then on.
He trusted you with not killing anyone, but he was worried about losing his one friend, his own sister, in this place simply because you did something that was just in your nature.
He defended you to the end of the world whenever someone suspected you of being the blackened and you did the exact same for him.
You were kind of, scratch that, really jealous of Mondo after the night of sauna scene and they were acting like two peas in a pod. Taka never seemed that happy when he was around you even though you two were siblings. The one night you didn’t break Celeste’s ‘rule’ is the night your own brother’s love was taken from you, and you almost killed Mondo right then and there.
But you controlled yourself and just waited for it to be over.
You were supposed to be happy he made a new friend, why are you feeling this way? The thought crossed your mind of finally breaking the rule all the students had made of not killing each other.
But when Taka introduced Mondo to you all those thoughts went away and you realized how they became friends.
Together you and Taka would defend Mondo until the very end of Chihiro’s trial, but it was all in vain. Mondo was executed, leaving a destroyed Kiyotaka and a heartbroken Y/N.
You wanted to get rid on Monokuma for what he did, but you knew that Taka would get even worse if you also got executed so you just continued to stand by his side. Until the day where he was taken advantage of.
You were happy when the culprit was found, but also torn to shreds that your two favorite people that kept you together were just taken from you, one right after the other.
.
.
Yikes that was a lot more angst than I thought it would be.

Danganronpa AU Fanfic: Chihiro’s Secret.
Summary: This is a fanfic for a rewrite/AU for the first Danganronpa game in which Chihiro Fujisaki is the protagonist instead of Makoto Naegi, and the crimes and people who die are different. It’s the second class trial, and in order to assure their own survival, as well as the survival of everyone else, Chihiro has to make the ultimate sacrifice to stop everyone voting for her.
This fic contains heavy spoilers for Danganronpa 1.
Word count: 2724
“Wait, you’re accusing me!?” Chihiro exclaimed as she suddenly understood the explanation completely. “Of course…” Celestia Ludenburg, the Ultimate Gambler sneered wryly “after all, you fit all the criteria for the crime, do you not?” “It’s true,” Byakuya Togami, the Ultimate Affluant Progeny, who sat next to her added “Chihiro Fujisaki does seem the most likely suspect as of this moment…” “The fuck are you talking about?” Mondo Owada, the Ultimate Biker Gang Leader boomed “that’s obviously bullshit! You’re saying this little dude killed Toko!?” Despite the fact that she was certain that another murder would not happen, Chihiro Fujisaki, the girl known far and wide as the Ultimate Programmer, had found herself in the courtroom of the confined academy. After being locked in the school by the malicious Monokuma and forced to play a killing game in order to escape, Chihiro had already lost two people prior to this point. As much as she’d hoped it was just a one time thing, yet another murder occurred. Someone had taken the life of Toko Fukawa, the Ultimate Writing Prodigy, and everyone had worked together to uncover the clues and find the culprit. However, due to certain circumstances, the suspicion had now fallen upon Chihiro herself. “Look at it this way Mondo…” Celeste began to explain “I saw Chihiro last night, in the warehouse may I remind you, carrying a duffel bag. She left my sight not longer later, which means other than my account, she has no alibi for night time, the time frame in which Toko was murdered…” “Not only that, but the fact that Fujisaki is a girl means that she would have been able to access the scene of the crime with no issues,” Byakuya added “after all, the scene of the crime was, as a reminder, the girls locker room…” “J-Just hold on a second!” Makoto Naegi, the Ultimate Lucky Student exclaimed “there’s no way any of that is true!” “He’s right!” Kiyotaka Ishimaru, the Ultimate Moral Compass, seconded “Chihiro? A killer? Be serious!” “You said exactly the same thing about Sayaka, Makoto…” Byakuya reminded him “and look how that turned out…” Makoto cringed as if he’d just taken a knife to the gut. Sayaka whom had died before was a close acquaintance of his, and unfortunately, she’d attempted to get away with her own crime and frame Makoto for it. “Y-You cannot deny that Mr Naegi and Mr Ishimaru both have a point though…” Hifumi Yamada, the Ultimate Doujin Author, chimed in “doesn’t it seem a little unlikely…” “You’re letting her cutesy little appearance fool you,” Celeste glared at him menacingly “so long as Chihiro Fujisaki is a participant in this trial, she is also a potential suspect.” “Celeste and Byakuya have a point…” Sakura Ogami, the Ultimate Martial Artist, pointed out “while I personally doubt the very idea that Chihiro would be responsible for something so heinous, she was the only girl who was sighted that late at night that we know of…” “Hold on a fucking second!” Mondo boomed “what about Celeste! She could have done it! If she saw Chihiro that late at night, then that means she was also snooping around!” “Do you really think I would do something like this?” Celeste asked “there is another thing that makes Chihiro suspicious, and relieves me of slight doubt…” “What’s that?” Aoi Asahina, the Ultimate Swimming Pro, asked with a frown. Celeste giggled smarmily “Chihiro specifically told me when I ran into her late last night that she was on her way to exercise…However, hypothetically, if that were true, then she would have headed to the changing rooms, correct?” “I…I see…” Sakura thought “if Chihiro really did go to the changing rooms as she claimed, then she would have found Toko’s body before any of us…” “If that happened, why didn’t the body discovery announcement go off?” Yasuhiro Hagakure, Ultimate Clairvoyant, asked. “Because the body discovery announcement only plays when three or more people discover the body,” Makoto reminded him “if Chihiro found it by herself, then it wouldn’t have activated…” “Then if Chihiro really found the body…” Junko Enoshima, the Ultimate Fashionista, began to ponder “then how come she didn’t like, call out for help or go get someone?” “I think the only logical reasoning is because she’s the one who really killed Toko Fukawa…” Byakuya stated bluntly. “H-Hold on a second!” Chihiro began to well up with tears “I-I-I didn’t…do it!” “I can’t say I expected someone like you to be capable of killing someone…” Celeste smiled “or that you’d be such a good faker of tears…” “Quit picking on her!” Hina exclaimed “she wouldn’t do anything like that!” “But where’s your proof?” Byakuya asked “so long as there’s a plausible way that Chihiro killed Toko, then she remains the prime susp-” “Then what if your reasoning isn’t as plausible as you thought?” Someone suddenly piped up. Everyone in the courtroom turned to the direction of the voice, seeing that it had come from Kyoko Kirigiri, a mysterious girl who had yet to share her talent with everyone. “Chihiro Fujisaki is not the killer, that much I am certain of.” “How can you be so sure?” Byakuya asked “do you have some kind of proof?” “Something like that…” Kyoko wryly smiled “but first of all, I’d like to make a request…Monokuma? Would you mind if Chihiro and myself stepped out of the courtroom for a brief moment?” “Hey, hey, hey, wait a second! What do you think you’re saying Missy!?” The monochrome menace exclaimed “you can’t just leave the courtroom in the middle of the trial!” “I’m making a polite request of you,” Kyoko told him “and the only reason why I’m doing this to ensure two things. The trials fairness and your enjoyment…” “My enjoyment?” Monokuma repeated “are you saying the trial will get more interesting if I let you go?” “Exactly…” Kyoko smiled “do you agree then?” Monokuma sat in silence for a few seconds before suddenly saying “You get 8 minutes. Tops.” “Thank you, that is perfectly enough time…Chihiro? Let’s go?” “Huh? Wh-Where?” Chihiro asked confusingly “Yeah, where are you going!?” Taka exclaimed “what are you trying to pull Kyoko?” “You’ll see as soon as we get back, but this is important…” Kyoko said, taking Chihiro’s wrist and heading for the elevator.
Chihiro was dragged along by Kyoko in utter silence until the two of them arrived at the dorm rooms. They came to a stop outside of Chihiro’s room and Kyoko turned to her seriously. “I’ll cut right to the chase,” Kyoko said “it seems that you and I got our blackmail letters mixed up…” “Y-You mean you had my note with my secret!?” Chihiro exclaimed “d-did you…r-read it?” “Yes…” Kyoko replied bluntly “Chihiro…I’m sorry to force this upon you, but right now, you’ve become the prime suspect for the murder. I think you know what I’m about to ask of you, but there’s only one certified way out of this debate. Are you willing to make that sacrifice?” It was true. Chihiro knew exactly what Kyoko was about to make her do. The Ultimate Programmer could feel fear welling up from inside her; invading her entire body…But she also knew that Kyoko was right. She realized at that moment that this wasn’t just about her…If she couldn’t prove her innocence…then it would be the end for everyone. Chihiro hated the very idea of death, and she’d already bared witness to it in the walls of this hellbent school. But no matter what, she couldn’t allow anyone else to lose their lives. So even if it was an action that could never be taken back…She had to do it. She had to prove that she couldn’t have killed Toko! “Now then…” Kyoko smiled “I believe it’s time for a wardrobe change…”
Back in the courtroom, even though the trial had paused because of Kyoko, the debate had most certainly not ended between the rest of the students. “Byakuya…” Makoto sighed “do you really think that someone like Chihiro is capable of murder?” “I’ll repeat what Celeste told you all earlier,” Byakuya replied “so long as Chihiro Fujisaki is a participant in this trial, she is also a potential suspect…And right now, the order of events directly points to her…” “Chihiro was the only one of the girls who went to the changing rooms in the dead of the night. The time and location of the murder.” Sakura added. “Y-You don’t think…” Taka stammered “that she on purposefully let Celeste catch her at night so that she’d have some semblance of an alibi?” “What the fuck are you talking about bro!?” Mondo boomed “that account is what’s got her on the ropes at the moment! How is that an alibi!?” However, the debate suddenly came to a screeching halt as Monokuma suddenly piped up. “Lucky you Ms Kirigiri…” he grumbled “you made it back in the nick of time…” “Sorry for the short recess that we took,” Kyoko said, returning to her podium “it won’t happen again…” “Let me guess…” Byakuya sighed “did you and Chihiro go off and find traces of another female on the floor? Something you forgot to pick up before we arrived here?” “Nothing of the sort…” Kyoko smirked. Celeste rolled her eyes. “It’s obvious that she can’t prove a thing…” she sighed “any moment now, the truth will spout out like a fountain from little miss Fujisaki’s mou-” “Chihiro…is that you?” Makoto suddenly cut Celeste off. At these words, Byakuya suddenly looked to the side at Chihiro, who was somewhat hiding behind Kyoko. “Hold on a second…” he said suddenly “something isn’t right here. Kyoko. Explain. Now. What the hell’s going on here?” The silence in the courtroom was deafening. Chihiro continued to hide behind Kyoko’s figure. She turned around and gave the small programmer the warmest smile she could. “Chihiro…It’s ok…” she said “you can do this…”
For as long as they could remember, Chihiro remembered they had been too feminine for their own good. “But you’re a guy!” “You don’t act like a guy!” “Why aren’t you manly!?” They’d dealt with those kinds of comments almost every day. After years of hearing this type of detest, they were backed into a corner, and found only one way to escape that didn’t involve asserting authority. After attempting this, they’d found that all of the jabs and name callings had finally stopped. It was all thanks to their appearance. Even though a part of them was sick to the stomach for their choice…being the way they were made everyone else comfortable. The old Chihiro Fujisaki had practically died and been replaced…but a part of their spirit was still inside the new one. Now…this fragment of old spirit was being forced to resurface. The Ultimate Programmer, Chihiro Fujisaki’s life had been a lie. Right now, as Chihiro stepped away from Kyoko and headed back to their own podium, questions began to go through their head. How would the other’s react? Would they hate them? Would they hurt them? Would they laugh and insult them? Would they be weirded out by them? Would they never talk to them again? Chihiro could never know for sure…but instead of focusing on everyone’s thoughts and feelings towards them now and in the near future, they decided to reflect back on the laughs and good times they’d had so far, despite the situation. And they’d hold on to that as their personal hope. Even if they hated them for it, Chihiro was going to do this…so they could save everyone’s lives… “I-I’m sorry…but I’ve been telling you all a pretty big lie up until this point…” Chihiro stated with all the confidence they could muster “but I think I need to reintroduce myself to you all…My name is Chihiro Fujisaki, I’m the Ultimate Programmer…
And I…am a boy!”
“WHAT THE HELL!!?” Taka was the first to cry this out, immediately noticing Chihiro’s change in attire. It wasn’t much of an appearance change altogether, but with the 8 minutes Monokuma had given him, it was enough. He had ditched his skirt and his shoes and replaced them with sports shorts and trainers. “What the-!?” Makoto seemed similarly taken aback by the sudden reveal. “Wh-What is the meaning of this?” even Sakura seemed genuinely shocked, as her massive frame trembled, her eyes unable to divert her stare. “M-Ms Fujisaki…Was…A TRAP!? CURSES!” Hifumi squealed and shock and clenched his fist in rage at the same time. “OMG is this like…Genocide Jack? Is it a split personality from trauma?” Junko covered her mouth, her eyes wide from the surprise. “D-Don’t tell me…” Hiro stammered “Ch-Chihiro’s been possessed!? NOOOOO! God, Buddha, anyone, please help us!” Chihiro couldn’t help rolling his eyes as he then exclaimed “No! Please wait! It really is me! Here, I can prove it!” The person closest to Chihiro other than the currently panicked Hiro was Byakuya. Chihiro turned to him and handed him his Digital E-Handbook. Byakuya uncomfortably fiddled with his glasses as he read through it. “Chihiro Fujisaki: Ultimate Programmer…Gender: Male…I-I see…so that’s what this was about. Kyoko, the reason you asked to leave with Chihiro earlier…that was…” “To help him get changed into a more suitable attire,” Kyoko finished his sentence “I figured even if he showed everyone his E-handbook, it still wouldn’t be easily believed. So I asked him to change his appearance to…drive the point home if you will…” “So…you were actually a boy?” Celeste asked, not breaking face “but in that case, why lie to us?” “I’m sure Chihiro has some reason for hiding his true gender identity from us, but I don’t see how that is relevant to the case!” Taka boomed “save these questions for after the trial!” “W-Well…Not to cut off this discussion or anything…” Hifumi cut in “but uh…why does the fact that Ms Fujisaki…er I mean…Mr Fujisaki?” “Mr Fujisaki is fine…” Chihiro smiled at him warmly. “V-Very well…” Hifumi sighed, clearly his brain was exhausted, then clearing his throat, asked “why does the fact that Mr Fujisaki is actually a guy matter to this case?” “It explains why, if Chihiro was telling the truth, and really did go to the changing rooms, he didn’t find Toko’s body, and thus didn’t let any of us know. Thus, his alibi is more solid.” Kyoko explained to him. “Oh! I get it!” Hina exclaimed “if Chihiro really was a boy, then her…uh..HIS handbook would have recognized him as one, right!?” “That’s right,” Monokuma cheerfully answered “Chihiro Fujisaki is actually a dude. Because of this, his handbook would only allow access to the male’s changing room. If he tried to enter the girls, then you know what would have riddled him with bullets!” “That explains why you always turned us down when we invited you to exercise…” Sakura contemplated “Chihiro, I am extremely sorry for my blindness…” “D-Don’t be sorry, it’s my fault!” he said “but…you really don’t care?” “Huh? Why would we?” Mondo asked “I mean, I was shocked out of my pants at this, don’t get me wrong…but you’re still Chihiro right? Who cares if you’re a chick or a dude?” “Speaking of which…Mondo, I have something to ask you…” Kyoko cut in “it’s not exactly relevant to the case or anything…but you knew Chihiro was a boy before any of us, am I correct?” “What? Seriously!?” Makoto exclaimed. “Wh-What gave you that idea?” Mondo stammered. “It was something in the way you speak. I don’t know if you noticed this Mondo, but you tend to refer to men and woman differently,” Kyoko told him “When it’s guys, you refer to them as “dude” and for girls, it’s “chick”. Recently, you began referring to Chihiro as a dude, which made me think you knew something we didn’t…” “Aw shit…busted…” Mondo sighed “sorry Chihiro. I woulda’ spoke up sooner…but it didn’t feel right coming from me…” “Don’t worry…I doubt anyone would have believed you anyway…” Chihiro smiled at his friend. “Um…I don’t mean to be a buzzkill or anything…Except I totally mean to be a buzzkill…” Monokuma interrupted “but I’m already bored of this discussion. It would be a real shame if I got so bored that I punished you all on the spot like this, so can we resume the trial please?” “Oh! Of course we can Monokuma!” Chihiro beamed with newfound determination “of course we can!”

--for those wondering
Chihiro - Our shy protagonist. Give him a wave. Or thumbs up. He'll need the encouragement. He only got into this school through luck. Hopefully he can get out the same way.
Celeste - A deceitful liar with words and writing that could manipulated anyone. She's a master at word manipulation and rumors always follow her, some that she's spread herself
Junko - A crazied despair obsessed pyscho with no regard for feelings or morals. She is known as the ultimate biker gang leader, and she definitely leads. Though nobody can quite tell what direction.
Taka - A martial artist obsessed with the morality of himself and his classmates. Very strict on rules!
Sayaka - An air headed girl with memory issues. She can't remember what ultimate she was though she expects it was Monokuma's fault.
Toko - The heir of the might Fukawa family line! She's one of a kind and had to fight her way to the top... even if that meant doing less than ideal tasks.
Byakuya - A fanfiction creator who often thinks of himself above others. He has knowledge from his time on the Internet of how exactly to survive here, through his facts about friendly cat-girls and powerful wizards may prove to be wrong.
Mondo - A lone swimmer, long abandoned by his team. Seems to not like his talent that much, and although the school has a pool, he refuses to enter it.
Aoi - Tropical girl who specialises in hipster fashion along with Boho. She longs for inspiration, and is always looking for new models. And with a kind face like hers, how could you turn down her offer!
Kirigiri - A stone faced clairvoyant. She gives cryptic prophecys, with no explanation or reasoning. The worse thing is, about fifty percent of the time, her vision is true.
Makoto - The happy go lucky programmer of the bunch! He keeps the group out of despair by giving powerful speeches and important dialogue - even if he sometimes tunes out during other important stuff.
Leon - A rebellious gambler with much more losses than gain. He has almost no money, and would love to earn back his family's savings. Being named the ultimate gambler after getting addicted must of felt like such a joke to him.
Sakura - She's a solider, with a perfect build for it too. She's strong, reliable, and although she doesn't talk much, when she does, it's always meaningful. She's protect her friends to the death.
Hiro - We aren't sure how he got the title of moral compass, but he doesn't really know what to do with it. He tries his best to lead the students, even if at the end he might sit back and just see it play out. The dad of this family.
Yamada - He's an anime obsessed popstar, always featuring his performances and costumes after certain anime. His performances are wildly popular.
Mukuro - A silent baseballer. Although she's good at everything to do with baseball, she doesn't really have much social skills. She rockets between being super nice and friendly to going silent.
