“Too political”: The International Paralympic Committee refused to approve Ukraine’s team uniform for over two months. A key element of the controversy was a map of Ukraine that included Crimea, a peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014. The IPC reportedly objected to this depiction, but the Ukrainian committee successfully argued to keep it. Additionally, the uniform incorporated a shade of green, which the Ukrainian committee described as a "protective" color and a symbol of the country's soldiers. The IPC raised concerns about the military connotations of this color choice. Valerii Sushkevych, the head of the Ukrainian Paralympic Committee, explained, "This form looks military, and the design of the form is very similar to the form of warriors. I believe that this is not a military uniform, but it says a lot. We came here not to a sports festival, not just to fight for a purely sporting [holiday], but also for peace. Those who live in Ukraine will understand why we chose [such a uniform]." Despite the IPC's objections, the Ukrainian team prevailed and will be wearing the contested uniforms in Paris. The design serves as a powerful symbol of Ukraine's ongoing struggle for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Sport doesn't beyond politics

Meanwhile, Russian athletes can pursue their goals in sport. Even participate in Olympics as neutral. Where is justice?
Please keep spreading our voices and donate to our army (savelife.in.ua, prytulafoundation.org, Serhii Sternenko and ptahy.vidchui.org).

^^^ The caption in Latvian by the Russian official reads: WE DEMAND THAT THESE SPORTS BE INCLUDED AS WELL. By Latvian cartoonist Gatis Šļūka.
As long as Russia is committing war crimes in Ukraine, which includes killing Ukrainian athletes, it should not be permitted to participate in the 2024 Olympics.
If Russia does not act like a normal country then it should not be treated like a normal country. Starting a war of aggression against a peaceful neighbor and following a policy of genocide are not normal.

This Ukrainian Olympian didn't expect to see her dad cheering for her during her event. Her father had been defending Ukraine since 2014. He made a promise to her that he would try, but war comes with a shadow of uncertainty. With luck and understanding from his commander, he was able to make it!

Ten thousand TRILLION percent yes T. Be a real human Social Media is not even ‘real’ nor is it everyone’s outlet, the be all and end all for where feelings and opinions live and die be your own human have your values live true to them fuck everyone with two thumbs and a social media account who can’t mind their own business. She’s a wonderful person with a ginormous heart and strong values she does not ever have to justify or be a spokesperson for every single cause on this planet. Being real and actioning real change and conversations off line is is important do people really think saying the same sentence as everyone else on social media is actually going to single handedly change anything NO it takes actual physical action and using your brain not your thumbs on Twitter. These platforms are built precisely for hiding your true self and being fake there is next to no sincerity in simply typing the same words everyone else is just to seem empathetic.. it’s not.
