Why Wui-myeong decided to stay in Sang-wook's body? Didn't he say he fucking hate him after the triggered memories ruined Wui-myeong's control over the body and causing the horrible car crash in episode 2x01? Didn't he desperately try to move to other body after the car crash but he can't for unknown reason? Like when he finally got the chance to switch to better bodies during the time skip or during his time in Bamseom at episode 2x02 and 2x03, why he didn't do that? Why he decided to stay in Sang-wook's body in the end of the day?

💙LOG 01 UPDATE 💙
you can download it on itch.io now here, and to see the comprehensive content warnings you can visit this link. (SPOILERS)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
here's some things you can expect in this update: (READ MORE)
- STORY PROGRESSIONs. continuing on which route you've entered in the demo, you can either progress the story with klein/yael's focused route. depending on reading speed, each routes are approximately 30~1 hour long. i would personally say klein's route is significantly shorter than yael's (i'm sorry klein enjoyers) but again it is dependent.
this update includes 2 new CGs (variations not included)
more player choices
more al screentime for al enjoyers /silly
but what if i went for the 'secret ending' in the demo? can the story continue from that?" no. the 'secret end' is basically a ||premature game over|| ending for the MC lol, however, in this update- you are given a little more context as to why this ending is even included to begin with. you'll also know why you can't continue the game if you went for this ending in the earlier version.
- visual polishes/improvements. new titlescreen, minor sprite edits, and more! a lot of the items mentioned in the game are now illustrated to give players a better visualisation of what they should look like.
- general UI polishes/improvements. changes are not very visible, however, i did made an effort to try and make the UI more aesthetically pleasing, accessible and consistent within the game's art style/aesthetics!
- EXTRA CONTENTs. you can unlock 2 different titlescreens based on the choices you made in the game, and also 2 small easter eggs (which i will not reveal on how to get them, for now, at least- LOL)
Tumblr media
if you encountered any problems, please do contact me! it would also be deeply appreciated if you can fill out this feedback form as it helps me to improve the quality of my games and give better experience to players. but please, don't feel obligated to do so! < 3 to know people enjoying what i create already means the world to me.

Sonic x Shadow Gens Review.
(MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!)
Tumblr media
So, gamers, i have played and finished Sonic x Shadow Generations, both campaigns, and i just wanna say.... GOD. DAMN.
I cannot believe that Sega released a Sonic "remaster" and it actually TURNED OUT GOOD!?!? WITHOUT ANY BUGS!!? NO GRAPHICAL GLITCHES FROM MY KNOWLEDGE!!?!? WHAT HAPPENED!??!
I will quickly go over Sonic Generations before we talk about... the big boy.
So, how is Sonic Generations? Welp. It's.... it's the same game!! And as someone who played it on PC for years, it looks identical to the original release! Maybe the colours are tweaked? The UI looks way nicer with the resolution boost and the chao rescue stuff is really cute.
Uh, i will say though. i do like MOST of the rewriting that they did. But here's the thing, Sonic Generations' story is like eating a McDonalds cheeseburger, but it's only the patty and buns. The rewrite just adds some cheese and a dab of tomato sauce. It's better, but you're still eating a damn McDonalds cheeseburger. And to add on to this, the VAs didn't sound... good, this time around... Idk, something seems very off about their performances? Mike Pollock especially, bro lost ALL OF HIS ENERGY in his Eggman performance. Tails' VA sounds kinda... bleh too, i dont know what happened here. Roger Craig Smith sounds bored playing Sonic, and i feel bad for him because Ian Flynn's writing can be pretty damn wordy. He's a skilled voice actor FOR SURE, but i never clicked with his Sonic, ever. (Jason Griffith, i miss you every day, my sweet prince... They took you away too soon... At least i still have the definitive Sonic voice in the Japanese version...)
The story also continues the trend of turning Amy into a boring side character with zero personality or spice because GOD FORBID A CARTOON CHARACTER ACTS CARTOONY AND A LITTLE CRAZY! SHE IS NOT AN ABUSIVE STALKER WHO WANTS TO FORCE SONIC INTO THINGS HE ISN'T COMFORTABLE WITH! SHE IS A FUCKING FANGIRL OF SONIC WHO WANTS TO HANG OUT WITH HIM AND SHE LOVES HIM AS A PERSON!!!! IF YOU PLAY THE OLD 3D GAMES WITH RETRANSLATED MODS YOU WILL SEE!!!!!!!! GOD!!!
But i could make a whole post about Amy man... I really could...
Okay enough about Sonic Generations, it's time to talk about Shadow Generations and what do I think of it?
Tumblr media
First, I'll brush over the story, NO SPOILERS DON'T WORRY!! I will say this, there were plenty of moments that easily got tears out of me and the stuff involving Maria and Shadow? Oh.... oh baby... PEAK!!!! Black Doom is really dope too, Shadow was pretty well written in this, too, and his VA knocked it out of the park!!! Kirk Thornton, I'm sorry that i doubted you... And Maria's VA too? Love the performance!!
However... This story feels... underdeveloped? Undercooked? it feels like there needed to be MORE! I think that the pacing felt a litttleeeee too fast and i kinda wished there was just more to chew on! It's like eating some damn good chocolate ice cream, but the ice cream is just one scoop. LIKE I WANT MORE!!! I WANT TWO SCOOPS!! I WANT SOME CHOCOLATE CHIPS IN THE ICE CREAM!!! UGH!! It's good, BUT I WANT MORE!!!! There needed to be more on it's bones, more screentime with Maria and Gerald, more time fleshing out stuff and properly explaining Black Doom's return instead of it being optional dialogue in the white world or prologue animaton on YouTube that you could skip. There's all this cool optional shit that is well... OPTIONAL!!!! And it actually enhances the characters, BUT I DIDN'T SEE IT UNTIL I LITERALLY BEAT THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DIDN'T READ GERALD'S DIARY UNTIL AFTER I BEAT THE STORY!!! THE LAST TWO PAGES ARE LITERALLY AT THE FINAL SECTION OF THE GAME!!!!
There is this one moment with Maria and Shadow and like.... it gave me the biggest damn smile on my face. And the ending too man, my god.
ALSO THE CUTSCENES ARE FILMED REALLY WELL?!? HOLY SHIT THEY ARE ACTUALLY GOOD?!?!? It makes Frontiers look like a PS1 game in terms of quality like holy mother of god, the cutscenes and animations have improved so MUCH in the span of one game... It makes me so so excited for what's to come....
NOW! GAMEPLAY TIME! How does Shadow control? How does this black and red alien hedgehog play?
Tumblr media
I'll put it like this... Imagine Sonic Forces, BUT!!! The air control is better, platforming feels smoother, the homing attack is better and more satisfying and 2D control feels actually good. it's just like Forces but everything feels a lot better, it's WAYYY BETTER THAN VANILLA CYBERSPACE FROM FRONTIERS!
Good controls don't mean much if the levels aren't good, BUT THANKFULLY Shadow Generations level design is actually pretty damn solid, and each level made me feel satisfied and wanting to go again!! There's plenty of optional pathways but the pathways don't really go to brand new exclusive areas. It's not on the same tier as Sonic Generations, BUT! It's close.
My favourite level is either Sunset Heights or Radical Highway. YES! THE SONIC FORCES LEVEL IS MY FAVOURITE! HOW CRAZY IS THAT?!!? THEY TURNED MID TO GOOD!!!
I also love how the collectables are placed on the harder pathways and reward you for skillful play, unlike in Sonic Generations where most of the red rings ARE ON THE BOTTOM PATHWAYS!!!!! WHY?!!? THAT'S THE PLACE MOST PLAYERS WON'T GO TO!!!! Ugh. I hate collecting red rings in Sonic Generations but thank god the collectables are actually fun to grab in Shadow Generations.
Now i wanna brush on the white space because i have some words to say on that too.
Tumblr media
White space was really fun to explore and unlike Frontiers, you could see things in the distance and platforms don't just pop in!!!!!!!!!! I loved doom surfing around, finding chests, bolts and just running around. It's really fun. It's not as in-depth as Frontiers, but i want the next Open Zone game to take a lot of inspiration from this white space. Also, seeing Omega and other characters in the hub and talking to them is really cute stuff.
Finding ALL the chests and bolts tho makes me wanna wish a thousand year torment onto someone.
And speaking of Doom Surf... The Doom powers and Chaos Control, i.... LOVE THEM! They are the perfect way to make Shadow more unique from Sonic and give the levels that extra level of flavour. Doom Spears add some spice to the standard homing attack chains you do in 3D Sonic levels, Doom Blast is really fun to use and opens up new pathways, Chaos Control is AWESOME!!! I LOVE HOW IF YOU USE IT AT THE RIGHT TIME IT OPENS UP COOL PATHS!! MY JAW DROPPED MULTIPLE TIMES SEEING THE PATHWAYS THAT I FOUND FOR MYSELF WITH CHAOS CONTROL!!! Doom Surf is fun to use and it spices up Kingdom Valley a lot, but... Doom Morph? The squid? THAT ONE SUCKKKSSSS!!! Awful turning, awful speed control, awful jump arc that makes Super Mario Bros. from the NES look like a top tier platformer, they don't properly explain the grappling mechanic which left me feeling so frustrated at certain points.
And... of course... The Doom Wings...
THE DOOM WINGS.... THE STUFF YOU COULD BREAK WITH THEM AND THE LEVEL DESIGN ACCOMINDATES FOR THEM TOO?!?!? SO IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE YOUR GLITCHING THE GAME?!?!? SONIC TEAM DID SUCH A GOOD JOB OH MY GOD!!!!
Now, let's talk about the bosses...
Tumblr media
Bosses are pretty fun!! They feel very satisfying to beat down and have some awesome dialogue. Although they are kind of one note, like the strategy to beat them doesn't REALLYYY change but hey, It's Sonic bosses, they've never been that amazing since the beginning of the franchise. But i would rather take this kind of boss design OVER SONIC SUPERSTARS!! BLEHHH!!!
Also I'm not gonna go too much into it but what they did with Mephiles, story wise for his boss fight? Oh man, I LOVE IT!! THEY DID SUCH A GOOD JOB! (the new VA for him, Robbie Daymond was kinda.... okayyy. Needed to sound deeper and it would been damn great. I know he played Akechi from Persona 5, he just needed better direction.)
Tumblr media
Alright.. Let's discuss arguably the most important part of any Sonic game, the music, and um, I'm gonna be for real, it's kind of a mixed bag? DON'T GET ME WRONG!! There are some bangers, some top tier tracks that will get that blood pumping! But for every banger, there's a Space Colony Ark Act 2 and a Chaos Island Act 1....
The music can be summed up with this handy chart!
Tumblr media
I wanna quickly brush upon the challenge acts too, i liked most of them but having to complete 4 OF THEM FOR EACH ZONE TO ADVANCE THE STORY IS SOME MASSIVE PADDING!!!
And.. I think that is it!! Overall, Shadow Generations is great!! The story has some cool moments but it felt VERY underbaked, the level design has improved a lot from previous games, i like the white space and the simple enjoyment of going around and collecting things.
It is a good to great game but it definitely has some flaws and i wouldn't give it a 9/10 and say it's PEAK overall like what some are saying online. Yeah it's good, but, it has flaws. It isn't perfect, however it is VERYYY fun!
Shadow Generations really does give me hope, this isn't yet another "step in the right direction" no. This is a LEAP!

btw something many people on certain video platforms don't seem to be aware of, since so many people fall for it, is comment baiting....
Ya know when video creators ask you questions in the video, something they could easily google themselves, it's because they want you to feed the algorithm with your comments. Making their video more relevant, which gives them more click traffick which generates them more money. Reaction folks like to do that. Which sometimes is fair game (they also bait you with negative looking thumbnails even if the reaction is positive). Some of them actually have genuine questions they could look up but having the fans answer it is a good way to engage and bond with your audience while also feeding the algorithm. That is okay imo, not much different than entertainer who get paid for entertaining and chatting with people. The more elegant version would be to ask people to put their opinions on a topic in the comments and then chat with them.
But yesterday I saw a clip on tiktok... so freaking obvious bait, it was painful. A dude reacts to a MV of Jeff Satur, he got requested by his audience (who definitely mentioned the name in the link they sent him), he literally has the yt video open with the title there on his screen and then asks the whole time "OMG who is this guy??" also titled his video with "please tell me who this is" to trigger every eager fan out there to infodump in his comment section...
Stop being so easily manipulatable please... that one was so cheap it annoys me that it worked on hundreds of people.
Not that this example is harmful in any way but it hurts to watch it play out. Would be worse if you actually pay money instead of your time to answer his question.
I am begging everyone who is wandering on social media, to learn how these sites work, how creators on these sites earn money, how the algorithms work.... that way it's easier to see when you get tricked by it. Also if we are at learning how things work: also look up the term "gamification" since some social media sites like tiktok use that.
(don't get me started on how emotionally manipulative (& intentionally addictive) tiktoks UI, algorithm, ads and especially the (emotional) reward system are already by itself ... should be illegal actually. it's only missing that it plays happy jingles and gives you virtual coins for opening the app and rewards you for every video you watch with a public high score. they are worse than metas & xitters user engagement system while providing zero safety for mental health except the mediocre filter that doesn't work and a screentimer even I have to use to not doomscroll forever)

I'm back, and:
I'll get to all the asks in my inbox soon!
I'll get back to writing soon (tm)
I have finished Persona 5, and I have (spoiler warning) 10 thoughts after the break.
So for context, I played and finished Persona 5 Royal on PC. I ended up putting 95 hours into it, beating the main storyline and doing a good amount of the Mementos quests/confidant storylines, but I didn't do the third semester (more on that later). Thoughts:
What a game. I'm a pretty big JRPG guy, and this ranks up there in my top 5 of all time. Easily. Great characters, great storyline (albeit with what I thought was some filler towards the end of the game), really fun (if basic) battle system. And it's easily the most stylish JRPG I've ever played, and a lot of that has to do with the comic-style UI and god-tier soundtrack. Loved the game, loved the characters. After I finished it, I felt like I was saying goodbye to legit friends I'd come to know pretty well over the past couple of weeks.
Makoto best girl, don't @ me. Sorry Kasumi/Sumire. Makoto was the real Phantom Thief, cuz she infiltrated my palace and stole my heart. I legit awwww-ed at a couple of points in her romance. Hifumi close third place behind Makoto and Kasumi/Sumire.
I didn't do the third semester because how the fuck was I supposed to know you had to max out Maruki's confidant level just to unlock it? I went into this playthrough blind, and Maruki was always kind of sus (I kind of assumed he and Akechi he'd end up being a big bad and I guess I was half-right), but I had no idea that a whole 20+ hours of the game was locked behind his confidant level. By the time I realized it, I was already long past the date he left the school, and there was no way I was going to re-play 80+ hours just to unlock the third semester. Bah. I think it's crazy that they would lock most of the new content behind a pretty random confidant that you can easily pay zero attention to. Shame, because Kasumi/Sumire and Akechi are locked to the third semester and Kasumi/Sumire might've had a better chance of becoming best girl if, y'know, she could actually join my party permanently.
Was Haru even a character? I'm pretty sure some of the lesser non-party confidants got more screentime and background than she did. I didn't use her much either, because Makoto, Ann, and even Futaba were more interesting characters. How adorable (and relatable) is Futaba lol. When she called Mishima an NPC I legit laughed out loud. She destroyed him.
And on the topic of Okumuras, fuck you Okumura boss battle. It was the one part of the game where I had to turn the difficulty down.
WHY COULDN'T I ROMANCE SAE edit: for god's sake I could romance my homeroom teacher but not her? c'mon.
I watched a video about how the characters are much more comfortable in the Metaverse instead of the real world, and damn, it really resonated with me. This game had a lot to say about masks and social/societal pressure and hierarchy and things like that, and I found myself saying damn, that's so true more times than I could count. A large part of why I grew so attached to the characters and their struggles was because in a lot of ways, I saw myself in them.
Loved how real and accurate Tokyo (and the in-game world) was. Loved the references to popular chains, specific streets, and small things like brand names. I giggled irl at the nerds walking around in Akihabara with their bags of merch until I realized I've been those nerds a few times and then I got semi-offended, lol.
Akechi was sus from the start. I mean, was anyone actually surprised when he did the heel turn? At least he had his anime last stand, even if the team went from "you betrayed us you asshole" to "omg akechi nooooo what a noble sacrifice sadface" pretty quickly.
This was my first Persona game and the entire calendar/time cycles were really interesting. The other games have a similar system, right? Should I bother playing Persona 4 or just wait for Persona 6? Is Persona 5 Strikers any good?
Anyway, that concludes my little hiatus from Tumblr. I have a few things on the go irl so I probably won't be as active on here as I was previously, but I'll always be around, even if I'm not posting every day like I used to.
I'm going to be hopefully finishing up a couple of fics I've started, and I've come up with a few ideas for some sequels/new fics (Gaeul sequel because I'm an IVE fan now), so stay tuned.
Love you all, and hope you're all being excellent to yourselves and to each other. <3

Uhhhhhhhhh talking about Sweet Home season 2 brb
I managed to convince the family to watch Sweet Home with me since season 2 came out last December and honestly? It's kind of been a dud so far
Like season 1 FUCKED HARD and there's a reason I binged the whole lot in one night the first time round. But this??? Who the fuck are any of these new people and why should I care about them. Why should I care about Chief Ji or her daughter and weird friend, or the new priest that is so clearly just a shady grifter, or ANY of the soldiers except the one that brought the OG group to the shelter in the first place. Where is Ui-myeong and the rest of the monsters he set loose? You're telling me they wouldn't have followed the soldiers out to the hideaway and tried to make an effort to break in? The crazy scientist is the only guy holding my attention at the moment
The timeskip of almost an entire year without doing even a smidge of establishing setting up in the underground has really fucked it up I think. If there'd been even like a series of quick flashbacks to show some stuff like why Chief Ji and the military leader are at odds, what proper went down between Ji's husband and Eun-yu etc it would have helped massively. But as it stands it's just kind of a nothing burger. The bloody soldiers get more screentime than the actual OG survivors who managed to make it, why is that allowed???
Where's my boy Hyun-su and his sick as fuck wing-arm, bring back my boy already

Assorted Last unicorn rewatch thoyghts/ gravity falls critique
Okay i had a double feature with the gravity falls commentary track where alex hirsch trashed the last unicorn and then the last unicorn. In all fairness feom the way he described the movie I dont think he has seen it in 20+ years. But also its funny that he shit on it in the commentary track for one of the worst grabity falls episodes. The fucking last mabelcorn. They made the episode in the last liek five minutes and it shows. He calls it bad and treats it like a guilty pleaure thing but fuck you. Quality wise the last unicorn is runnint circles around this episode. It remains entertaining throughout which is more then I can say for a lot of grabity falls episodes in the later half of season 2. Saying this from my memory of watching it when I was 12 fyi. Also its kinda silly to compare an hour and a half movie to a tv show with two seasons. Like apples and oranges. But what I will say is that the last unicorn reaches higher highs.
That being said by someone who would consider the last unicorn one of her favorite movies. All of the characters are like flawed in differsnt ways byr all decently likeable. Even the king who is literally holding a whole population of creatures captive is pretty sympathetic. Or at least moreso than he might be in other films of a similar age demographic. The entire thing with the unicorn losing herself to the illusion was delightful. Its all the tropes I really love. And its funny that is what alex hirsch focused on as a major point. The whole horror of it just went over his head. I could probably make some argument yow uis misreading of the unicorn and total blindness to molly can say something for how gravity falls writes its women characters. I could also day its funny how this parallels a lot of the ways people treat mabel. Being hyper critical of a (usually girl)character due to a desire to go against the norm presented. It kinda reminds me of what happened to scrappy doo in the james gun scooby doo movie. But ya know scrappy do was actuslly annoying lets not kid ourselves. The unicorn did nothing wrong amd now theres this smear campaign against her. Funded by the disney corporation. I kid.
I do not have a gender studys major nor do I have enough knowledge to accurately say if gravity falls is a little sexist. I feel like so much of wendy's screentime is devoted to her relationship to dipper and or robbie. She never really gets to feel like a natural part of the group dynamic. She has nice interactions with other characters she just doesbt get that many plots focused on her. At least in comparrison to soos who gets full episodes about him/his backstory and like just gets more b plots. The fee b plots wendy does get are like about dippers crush on her or robbie being a shitty boyfriend or both. Remember when robbie tried to brainwash her and they never mentioned it again. Not really relevant just thought it was interesting.
Overall: is gravity falls a bad show? No, it has problems but like in comparrison to its contemporaries its pretty good. Its just a flawed show. And I cant say its like all mysoginistic because mabel is a very well written character even if it feels like the show is very often still from dippers pov. And they at least kinda subvert the mean girl archetype. I like that. Giving a character supposed to be shallow more depth is always a plus. I think the biggest drawback from wendys lack of side plots is soos kinda be overplayed a bit as "supporting young adult". Like soos is funny but also he can kinda get grating when used to much. Maybe its jurt cause my tolerance for "funny innofensive fat guy" is very low. I much prefer "rude asshole fat guy" like pete from a goofy movie.
Tldr: watch the last unicorn it changed my life

I’ve meant as in your favorite parent characters in the blogs!
Oh okay, I thought that was the case but you can never tell.
In terms of dads the best dadas are firstly Tenemi Nanami. An easy one as he's probably the best dad due to how much of a joy he is, he ensures his daughters, whenever that be Chiaki or Nagi are safe, and he has a wicked sense of humour.
Second is Hiroshi Hinata as while doesn't get as much screentime as Keiko does, he is a delight to see all around and he makes the best dad jokes. Hajime you need to learn them.
And my final good dad choice is one from DTFA and that's Miriko Nevermind. He is the reason Sonia loves the occult so much and plus he has a awesome design as he's basically ASGORE!
Now onto mothers once again the Nanamis take the crown here as Harumi Nanami comes right in. She has been such a boss as she owned All Eyes on Me and The Price of Fate, and also Old Ghosts. Put her against an enemy and they will go DOWN, you better watch out Shirogane as I think Harumi would be ready for round 2 in Dianthus Memory.
I of course have to mention Erina Nidai as while she's good in DTFA with how she tells off Satoko her real shine is in ASOOT when she becomes the mother that Nikei needs in his life. She's a key reason why Nikei doesn't become the angry control freak he normally is in canon and we are all here for it.
And my final best momma is though she is a terrible mother but by god is she so sympathic is Ui Kerumi. Now she is a bad mother and doesn't raise Jataro probably but was it her fault? No it was Hashimoto who decided to do the nasty thing with her and make her pregnant. And she does regret how she treated Jataro in the mind. In ASOOT she was able to get help and now is being treated and has a friend in Iroha. in DTFA naturally she died beforehand but was able to find peace and move on in the afterlife, after she gave me a nice tip for filling up her popcorn. Hey I need to earn money somehow!
But yeah those are my parental picks. This was harder then I thought because we don't see much of a lot of parents so I had to really think here.

Fun fact! The next chapter (#254) is actually the chapter that drove me to make this blog. I've always been a Ui Ui fan, of course, but I remember how happy I was that he got so much screentime, even if it was a little scary ;^_^

i think what i really disliked about magireco is how rushed the ending was, and how many characters and plot points got wasted.
like kyubei going on and on about his fucked up utilitarian view of the world could have been used to draw a parallel to touka and nemu and how they are acting in the same way; sacrificing people now for a distant goal. but no he just went on and on and touka and nemu were given almost no depth and had no apparent realisation of their wrongdoings, just they they wanna spend time with iroha ?
kuroe’s death was so traumatic for iroha and yet it got glossed over in <2 minutes of screentime by holding hands with her friends.
mifuyu and tomoko die and yachiyo barely has a reaction. they don’t explain nor show 3/4 of the final battle. alina goes berserk without any build-up to just fail almost instantly.
like it feels like they had too many ideas and used the first season to lay out one tenth of the plot to then stuff everything else in the last 12 episodes.
and yes covid has affected SHAFT and their schedule but this is more a matter of pacing and tbh, s1 was too slow and this was way too fast cramped. i’d rather they had delayed these last 4 episodes longer to lay out ALL THIS PLOT in at least 8-10 eps.
also maybe it’s just me but the way they treated the holy quintet made me actually a bit anxious about the fourth madoka magica movie bc like. they literally killed them all off OFFSCREEN and then had homura rewind everything again when they had the opportunity to make them happy in one (1) universe (like in the game btw!!!).
this last part especially like why did they even make this to just kill off half the cast, introduce a new character to just kill her off for actually no reason tbh, kill off fan favourites off screen, kill off the main driving reason for the plot (ui lol) to just have homura rewind it all???? like why did they make this if it never happened i hate it i hate it i hate it

s3 unhappy thoughts
(not gonna put this into the tags bc it’s rambling and more or less personal thoughts, but if y’all wanna reblog it, you’re welcome to)
in the game, the doppel system is hinted to have less-than-good consequences but doesn’t really deliver on it. but it gives these girls, who have been taken advantage of by the incubators and their magical girl system, a chance to face their emotions without it literally ending them. and because it doesn’t end them, they get a chance to connect to other girls who are in the same situation as them, who can understand them in ways that other people in their lives can’t. it gives them a shot at finding community and a support structure
(the magius also take advantage of this. all the typical cult shit goes here, and that’s why it was so appealing to so many girls: it gave them something resembling a community even if they typically knew, or learned fast, that it was fucked up)
in the anime, the doppel system has very distinct less-than-good consequences and they deliver on it. it takes the hints tucked away in the corners of the game lore and went, “what if we did more with this?” which is a classic cornerstone of puella spin-offs. every spin-off does this -- it takes an aspect of the setting and asks, “what if we did more with this?”
the anime asked, “what is the cost to the girls themselves?” which is an understandable, and i think, reasonable lore question to ask
but the anime’s answer was something that ultimately robbed the girls of the opportunities it gives them in the game. and it doesn’t... give them anything in return? it gives them more time, which touka argues is a good thing, and she speaks from the perspective of a little kid who was told she wouldn’t have much time to exist. but it still paints the feathers in particular into a horrible corner, one where their extra time... doesn’t feel like it mattered? as epitomized by kuroe
i’ll admit i have a particular weak spot for the characters who are insecure, indecisive, and trend towards being paralyzed into inaction. the ones that people like to say don’t do anything, the ones that look especially cowardly and weak. (i also have a weak spot for the “bland” and mild and ignorable personality types, like iroha.) so it’s not really a surprise that i was rooting for a satisfying narrative for kuroe -- a happy ending would’ve been nice, but i didn’t necessarily expect one. i just wanted something satisfying
kuroe’s choice, in the end, was to stop existing
she wasn’t trying to break alina’s barrier to help anyone. it’s questionable how much she even knew about it. but she didn’t want to exist as she was any more, and she took the only avenue she could think of. this, after ui told iroha she needed to save kuroe, like... she chose not to be saved. she couldn’t see another way out. she couldn’t see a way to change herself. she didn’t want to be a burden to anyone, and she didn’t want to feel more pathetic by being saved. she didn’t want to exist as a failure
i keep thinking, and thinking, and thinking about what kuroe’s narrative is supposed to be here. what we’re supposed to take from this. and i keep thinking about how she had been painted into a corner, and iroha was trying to give her a hand up, but iroha is one person. one person isn’t always enough, and in particular, kuroe kept comparing herself to iroha and demonizing herself for failing to match up to her
visually, there are some parallels to akumura, but really, i think kuroe is supposed to parallel sayaka. a tragic loss that serves as a catalyst. but i can’t shake the feeling that where sayaka’s loss matters narratively, i can’t figure out why kuroe’s loss matters narratively. what does it add to the story aside from shock value? her grief seed isn’t even necessary to the magical girl spirit bomb. iroha added it to make her death matter, but how much of a difference did it really make?
you can’t save everyone, sure. and kuroe’s screentime could have been put to better use on other characters, i don’t think i can argue that at this point, which feels like an extra slap to the face. and sometimes death is meaningless and that is the point of it, like with ryo in arc 2
but kuroe’s death feels especially bleak and hopeless to me because the death feels meaningless to the narrative. and i was talking to a friend about it, and i’ll just quote her here: “accepting worthlessness and hopelessness is a SHIT redemption arc.” she’s right. it just feels bad, man. it feels so damn bad

time for the p5s gameplay post, since i finished two bosses! mind the spoilers ( i’m on the day before I leave for the third city rn)
No screenshots because I'm playing on ps4 💔
- first things first, the gameplay for the fights is new to me so I struggled with it a bit (died more than what i’d like to admit against the bosses lmao) but!!! still fun as hell; I got a bit better now tho ✌️
- MAN I LOVE SOPHIE’S DESIGN SO MUCH and she’s so funny too!!! also the UI for the shop is so nice, i love it!!!
- i also love zenkichi, he’s so funny,, please let there be a detective that doesn’t turn out to be a shit later in the plot persona
- morgana being tolerable so far but i’m keeping an eye on him
- haru going ‘we hate the cops :)’ and ‘i can wield an axe well :)’ while smiling is one of my fave things ever, plEASE LET HER HAVE MORE SCREENTIME
- i wanted to see shiho but i guess i am not allowed to
- RYUJI SIDEHUGGING PROTAG, RYUJI, RYUJI SAYING HE MISSED TALKING FACE TO FACE WITH HIM, RYUJI INVITING HIM OUT BEFORE THEY LEAVE Tokyo-the scene where the shujin trio goes to eat ramen... Nostalgia 😔❤️
- nbmdf ryuji 😳 i’m happy i can play as him now, also his showtime is 🥺🥺💖💖
- ok ok, so, plot wise so far it’s interesting and nice? I missed the cast a lot and it’s nice to have them back in a new story, but the first arc can’t really survive a comparison with the first arc in p5, which at this point is definitely one of my favorite ‘first arcs’ in a game - still super fun, I’m into it!!
- the designs for alice are so good, those color schemes... 😳 ngl i’d love to draw her
- THE OST SLAPS SO HARD I LITERALLY CANT STOP LISTENING TO DAREDEVIL
- ryuji stepping in to help Haru when the creep was making her uncomfortable 😔👌
- Yusuke sleeptalking.....
- the "beauty thief" inside joke,, I love that little detail
- ryuji gave half of a keychain to Akira wtf are we talking about here, why does he keep doing this :`````] help
- the monarchs are like the episodic enemies in magical girl series, and the boss fights are the episode where the magical girl that's the focus of it gives the emotional speech
- I just really like the vibes this game has??? They're having a road trip and visiting places, and having fun 😭 I wish there were photos like in Royal tho, it would have been SO good in this game

This is not ask about kinks (No offence btw i don't which word to replace kink with). in previous ask, you said you didn't like the canon of Tormod and Muarim origins right? so i would to ask what type of canon would you give them if you could? I also like ask, if the Tellius saga ever get a revamp/remake, what would be biggest wish fullfill? for me its Tormod reclassing into a melee class / Laguz Army to availability more...
Oh, it's okay! No worries lol, this is a kink blog after all.
As for Muarim & Tormod, I would honestly just prefer it for Muarim to have literally found Tormod out of nowhere and took him in. Like that's just so much better than the wierd little dynamic of Tormod basically being the son of Muarim's ex master and Muarim taking him Tormod in when the noble house falls.
Honestly, my biggest wish fulfilment would just be getting supports in RD. Like, that alone would be so beautiful. Hell, they could even keep the mini supports and make it so that those are a super small in battle bonuses.
And although a remake with both games would be phenomenal, let's face it, Nintendo is a company and they are as greedy as all hell just as every other company so they'll be their own remakes
Though there's a lot more to help RD. Even though it's already really damn great imo. But if the legitimate fixes, I'd say this:
Fix availability. Tormod, Muarim, and Vika really have no business joining for like 3 chapters before leaving until the last 6 chapters with their stats from part 1 lmao
Also, BALANCE. When people say RD is the second most unbalanced game, they mean it. The difference in usefulness in characters is astounding. Also, Dawn Brigade still in tier 2 classes while Greil Mercenaries are already hitting tier 3 is ridiculous and pretty dumb
Laguz gauge. It's not terrible but I still feel that PoR gauge would work much better, especially with olivi gras and such. Also , Laguz being locked to single range hurts them so much since RD is pretty enemy phase heavy.
Weapon balance. Magic is pretty bad and also had terrible caps. Laura has amazing speed growths but can't take advantage of it since her caps are awful.
Difficulty balance: Part 1 shouldn't be the most difficult part of the game when there's three more parts after it.
Writing: part 3 aside, (I don't know how to fix it without making Pelleas look ever worse than he already did by signing that blood pact lmao) part 4's writing kinda comes across as a generic "series crossover game" it's not bad and it also serves in showing tensions between characters. But it also highlights favoritism, Skrimir praising Micaiah while ready to murder Naesala. And also Pelleas getting off the hook easy from Tibarn.
And as for personal wishes:
I wanna save Zelgius. He's by no means this innocent character people love to paint him as, but it bothers me that you can save Lehran but not Zelgius
Change Pelleas's "death" scene in part 2. The fact that the only difference is suddenly getting the option to have Micaiah jump in the way just feels so cheap. I will say Pelleas' death is kinda just a punch on the first playthrough since the option kinda does give some false hope to sparing him. And it ultimately becomes a complete waste. (though Pelleas does get forgotten afterwards sadly)
Give more screentime to Skrimir and Sanaki. The two are great characters as is, but it would've been fun getting a chapter or 2 with them to help solidify their arcs.
Also, give Pelleas and Elincia some more screentime
Ike. He's great and I love him, but godamn is he just this absolutely perfect child that can do no real wrong and everyone praises him so much. Granted, his growth was already in PoR but still. (Praise Micaiah's lines dissing Ike, it's just such a great fresh view in seeing how the losing country sees the game's hero after that other FE games don't do)
Speaking of Ike, it honestly would've been cool seeing him get a more supporting role instead of just blindsiding everything and taking over. But that never goes well in games. Look at the fandom with Micaiah lmao. (And also Tales of with the Symphonia sequel)
Stop the whole Astrid x Makalov thing. I just hate the ship lmao
And that's just for RD sjdhsjnsksb it's really obvious how much I love Tellius. But admittedly, they're all nitpicks than any actual true flaws.
As for PoR, it's been so long since I played it, but it honestly has like no real narrative flaws that I can find? I just vastly prefer RDs ambitious scale of writing vs PoR's take on the whole basic FE plot.
As for gameplay stuff
Balance magic a bit, lightning is too good. And that not, bring back tier 1 light mages and also bring back dark magic.
Give us Maniac Mode!!
RD's improved UI and models alongside the skills
Make knives way better and let Sothe promote. Unpromotable tier 1 classes is the worst idea ever. Unless you're a dancer, you should be able to promote.
Let Laguz weapons rank up
FIX THE AWFUL WEAPON RATE GAIN
OMG SERIOUSLY THAT WAS SO AWFUL
I DON'T EVER WANT SUCH A SLOW WEAPON RATE EVER AGAIN
Give Elincia more screentime. I love her and like yeah, not every women needs to be this badass warrior, but the Nyna archetype is just so done at that point. (But hey, she still turns it on it's head by the end. And so does Pelleas)
And that's all I can think of really.
Again, I'm such a huge Tellius nerd lmao. Though I currently believe FE6 will get remade first. Tellius is still too recent, and intys probably doesn't wanna touche the incest plot shit in FE4 and FE5 also has to get passed up for a remake due to being in Jugdral.
God this is so fucking long sjdbjsvavsvs

Your thoughts on Ponyhead?
I enjoy her when she’s used as a supporting character (Sleepover, Starcrushed, Scent Of A Hoodie, Demoncism...), not when she’s the focus of the episode (Pizza Thing, Ponymonium, Bam Ui Pati!), mostly because she never really gets any character development, and that’s... sad. She certainly warmed up to Marco with time, and she has been depicted in slightly better ways, but that’s mostly due to the simple passage of episodes and increased screentime than genuine growth, compared to Tom and even Kelly. She gets used like a Janna, but has way more screentime and gets portrayed as more important than she ought to be at times, essentially. I guess she did display some potential growth in Skooled / Bam Ui Pati! / Conquer, if we consider all the episode as a single unity, but it might be too early to know for sure whether that’s the mark of genuine change, or just “we want him in the season finale find a good excuse”.
One good thing, though, is that the show never tries to sell her as a better person than she is, both Star and the narrative itself know what she’s like, and while that doesn’t fully balance out the lack of development it shows, at the very least, that writers and boarders are aware and don’t try to push for something that’d hardly find a positive response among the viewers.
