I know the whole kneeling motion was more to level the two. To stop Leo from looking up to F!Leo but... It seemed very symbolic. In the show the guys bow on their knees sometimes to show gratitude or respect.

The picture of THE HERO of that dead world bowing in front of our hero is such a strong punch to my guts. The selfforgivenes, understanding towards your past self... The mere fact he can be there to do that... The gratitude for making Casey's life normal. The opportunity to see his brothers again. To be with them again.

Turned back to the display and grabbed a bottle at random and nearly tripped over a fucking child. He was a tiny, wide-eyed thing, peering up at Roy from under a mop of sandy brown hair with the sleeve of his oversized jumper in his mouth.

“You’re Roy Kent!”

“No I’m not,” Roy said, reflexively.

“Are too,” said the kid. He chewed thoughtfully on the sleeve. “You should play footie with me. I’m gonna play for City when I’m older and I’m gonna score one million goals.”

“One million, eh? That’s a lot of fucking goals.” Wait, fuck. Probably shouldn’t swear in front of the kid. The boy bounced up and down on his toes, sleeve dropping from his mouth so he could flap his hands excitedly.

“How many goals have you scored, Roy Kent?”

“How many do you think I’ve scored?”

The kid tilted his head. “Fifty-six.”

Okay, what the fuck. That was actually right. “Why the fuck are you asking if you already know, then?” The kid shrugged. “How many goals am I gonna score next season?”

“Two million!”

“More than you, then?”

The kid frowned, eyebrows scrunched up and bottom lip stuck out defiantly. “No! ‘Cause— ‘cause I already scored one zillion goals and that’s more than a million, so there.”

Roy found himself smiling despite the stabbing ache behind his eyes, overtaken by a sudden surge of fondness for this strange little kid. “Can’t fucking argue with that kind of talent,” he said and the boy lit up, bouncing like he was trying to lift off the ground.

“Can we please go play footie, Roy Kent?” the boy whined.

i love mike so dearly and i love when he's home but when he works from home now it completely fucks up my whole day ajklsafh like our apartment is so echo-y rn and he's in meetings all day so it's so loud it feels like he's screaming right into my ear and it makes it impossible for me to focus on anything. i can't even hear myself think. plus our building is pretty loud and ham (dog) barks at every little thing so i'm basically on edge all day making sure he doesn't disrupt the meetings so i literally can't do anything and it's just really overwhelming

Okay so. Like I am writing the Roier and Jaiden fic already, but I was watching VODs yesterday and there was this instance where Bobby hurt Roier's feelings and Roier got sad and Bobby panicked and started running circles around Jaiden, until she told him he should apologise. Which now just has me thinking of a scene where Bobby runs to Jaiden absolutely wailing, his eyes enormous, because he actually hurt his pa's feelings and he doesn't know what to do. I'm gonna write that, as just a oneshot I think, because I cannot get it out of my head.
