I have been writing the Eddie Munson Warm Bodies au!

Wade’s phone vibrated in his pocket mid-fight, right as he finished tossing a grenade at a group of particularly unfriendly henchmen. He had a few seconds before it exploded, so, naturally, he pulled out his phone with a flourish and checked the screen.

[You]: Miss you already! ❤️

A picture followed, and Wade’s heart did a little flip under the red-and-black suit. It was you, sitting on the couch with Dogpool, the tiny mutant dog perched on your lap, both of you looking into the camera with the sweetest expressions. You were wearing one of Wade’s old hoodies, the one that was three sizes too big for you, and Dogpool had a little bandana around his neck that you’d probably put on him. Wade grinned, staring at the picture as the grenade detonated behind him with a satisfying boom. Blood and chaos erupted in the background, but he barely noticed. His phone buzzed again.

[You]: Dogpool’s missing you too! Here’s a video!

He clicked the video, ducking instinctively as a stray bullet whizzed past his head. The video was short but sweet: Dogpool, standing on the couch, wagging his tail and barking excitedly. In the background, you laughed, your voice like music to Wade’s ears, even through the muffled speaker. “Dogpool, where’s Daddy? Where’s Wade?” you asked in the video. Dogpool barked even louder, as if he knew exactly who you were talking about. Wade’s grin stretched wider under the mask.

“Ugh, my heart," Wade muttered to himself, clutching his phone dramatically to his chest. He dodged a sword swing from a very angry assassin and ducked behind a crate for a brief second to type out a response.

[Wade]: Daddy’s coming home soon, babe! Just gotta finish slaughtering these no-good villains and I’ll be back to my favorite girls 💕 PS: you look cute in my hoodie. And Dogpool's killin' it with that bandana!

He hit send just as a goon rounded the corner, gun raised. Without looking up from his phone, Wade raised his other hand and shot the guy square in the chest. He watched him collapse, then glanced back down at his phone, eagerly awaiting your next text. Another vibration. His heart did that funny thing again.

[You]: We’re waiting for you! I’ll have snacks ready when you get home. Also, Dogpool is being too cute. He’s drooling all over your side of the bed 😂

Attached was another picture of Dogpool sprawled out on the bed, tiny paws flopped over Wade’s pillow, his tongue hanging out as he slept. Wade could practically hear your laugh in his head as he stared at the picture. He barely noticed the team of henchmen coming his way until the last second. With a sigh, he pocketed his phone and pulled out his katanas, leaping into action with a series of precise, bloody strikes. “Don’t worry, boys, I’ll make this quick!” Wade called over his shoulder. “I’ve got two ladies waiting for me at home, and I’m not about to disappoint”. As the last of the enemies fell, Wade wiped off his katanas and slid them back into their sheaths. With the job done, he grabbed his phone again, a giddy thrill rushing through him at the sight of another text notification.

[You]: Come back to us soon. We miss you, Wade. I’ll always be here when you get home.

He paused, leaning against a wall as he reread the message. His heart warmed, like it always did when you sent things like that. Sometimes, it still felt unreal that someone as amazing as you would actually wait for him, love him, despite everything. Despite him. He quickly typed back:

[Wade]: I’m on my way, babe. You, me, and Dogpool = Best family ever. See you soon ❤️ PS: prepare for excessive cuddles.

And with that, Wade holstered his weapons, slung his bag over his shoulder, and took off toward home. Because no matter how many jobs he took, how much chaos and bloodshed filled his days, he always had something, someone, to come back to. And that was all that mattered.

Honestly they're currently the cutest damn thing in twst and I can't get enough of them. I'm a REAL sucker for parents who are ridiculously sweet both to their kids and to each other.

They're literally so perfect UGH. Definitely one of the highlights of Book 7, and the only positive light amidst all the Malleus negativity and madness. He should see them. I bet he'll grow even more mad and jealous that someone who isn't him gets to enjoy parents as cute as them 🤣

You had been invited to a halloween party by an old college friend you still kept in touch with. Even though you were a hunter, you felt having a social life was important to, at the least, normalise the insanity a little.

“Don’t you think our lives are scary enough?” Dean groused as he continued his work on Baby. “Why’s this such a big deal to you?” He questioned you over his shoulder as he reached under the hood. You’d been bugging him about it for the last 24 hours, since you got that damn email.

“This is a party full of skanky versions of cute animals and hockey-mask wearing plebs. I don’t think it holds much of a flame to our lives Dean.” You countered. “Besides, it’s good to have fun once in a while.” You shrugged, as if that were obvious.

Dean stood straight and looked at you then, assessing your pout and that doe-eyed-look. The one that usually got him to say yes to anything.

Contemplation. His first mistake. Now all you needed to do was seal the deal. And so you stepped closer to him and slid your hands up his chest and around his neck.

“I promise i’ll make it worth your while.” You whispered, a hairs breadth away from his lips. His eyes widened in curiosity, he was intrigued. Second mistake.

“Please.” You begged once more, sweetening the pot by running your fingers through his short strands. His eyes fluttering at the sensation.

Got him.

“Ugh, fine!”

The power of seduction was such a wondrous thing sometimes.

“Ah, thank you!” You exclaimed excitedly and smushed his cheeks with your hands as you pulled his lips to yours.

“I promise you won’t regret this.” You told him as he stood with his lips still puckered, watching you turn and scurry away out of the garage. What had he gotten himself into?

Halloween Night.

You’d been incredibly secretive about what costume you were going to wear, since he’d agreed to go with you. No matter how many times Dean asked or guessed, he couldn’t get a peep out of you. He’d eventually given up on the third day and decided to just trust it was going to be, “a nice surprise.” As you’d put it.

So he sat patiently at one of the tables in the bunker’s library, waiting for you to finish getting ready. You had commandeered your shared bedroom with him and forbid him from entering until you were done. That was almost 2 hours ago. And Dean was beginning to get impatient.

He pulled uncomfortably at the collar of his white shirt, hating the item of clothing, even when he had to wear it as an undercover agent. But you’d insisted he did, along with a pair of his lighter, blue jeans, convincing him thoroughly the night before with that talented mouth of yours.

It was nearing on 7’o’clock by the time you made your appearance, that fact made known when he heard your voice.

“So, what do you think?” Dean’s head snapped up from his endless scrolling on his phone and he almost choked on his own breath.

Holy fucking shit.

There you were, dressed in a form-fitting little purple dress, with green accents. Knee-high lilac stockings and the highest pair of heels he’d ever seen, to match. Your hair wasn’t its usual colour either, instead it was a fiery orange, falling in soft curls against your shoulders. To complete the look, tied neatly around your neck was that famous green ascot.

Dean couldn’t quite believe his eyes. You were like a childhood fantasy come true.

You made your way over to him. Heels clicking loudly against the wooden floors before you came to a stop before him.

“You’re gonna catch flies, Winchester.” You smirked as your finger tips pressed up under his slackened jaw. He blinked out his stupor and shook his fog-filled mind.

“Y/N, sweetheart. You look incredible.” He told you truthfully and you couldn’t help but feel a little bashful. Truth be told, you were a little nervous for him to see the outfit. Considering Daphne Blake was one of Dean’s top fantasy women.

“To make it even more perfect. I got you a little something.” You reached into your matching purple clutch and pulled out a bright orange ascot tie.

Dean looked at the fabric and then to you and then back at the fabric again.

“I’m not wearing that.” He scoffed humourlessly, shaking his head.

Oh you poor naive fool.

You arrived at the party as it was in full swing. Sam had dropped the two of you off, since you were both planning on having a drink and Dean didn’t feel safe leaving Baby alone over night.

“Have fun kids!” Sam called out the open passenger-side window, snickering to himself at Dean’s warning look. You giggled too and waved at Sam as he pulled away before tugging on Dean’s hand.

He grumpily pulled at the tie around his neck, looking up at the modest colonial-style house, pumping out generic pop music and filled with people dressed even more ridiculous than he was.

“Come on grumpy. Let’s get some drink in you.” You suggested and pulled him along with you.

Once inside, you found your friend quickly and gave her a big hug. It was nearing on a year since you’d last seen her. She was married now, to a big time doctor and children were the current topic of conversation.

You were happy for her, even though a part of you saddened at the fact her life was one you’d never have. You loved Dean with all of your heart, but you also knew you both didn’t get ‘normal’. Which is why you suppose you clung to something as simple as going to a halloween party.

As the night drew on, Dean gradually relaxed, even more so with the help of the doctor’s good whiskey. He’d even pulled you onto the makeshift dance floor when Iron Maiden - Hallowed be thy name, started playing.

When a slower song began to play, Dean pulled you in close by your waist, yours instinctually wrapping around his neck. You were both glistening with sweat and gone were your ascots as you rocked back and forth.

“You know i get it now.” Dean began, leaning in close so you could hear him over the song. “I know our lives will never be all sunshine and rainbows, like Doctor Rob and Shelia’s.” You smiled a little at his nickname for Shelia’s husband. He’d been calling it him all night.

“But,” he continued and you met his sparkling green eyes. “I wouldn’t do this life with anyone but you. Whether that’s hunting demons and ghosts forever, or the white picket fence. Every scenario, i’d choose you.” He confessed and you felt your eyes well up and heart soar.

Instead of words, because you had none. You pulled him down for a kiss worth a thousand of them. However, what started out as a tender declaration of love, soon turned heated as he slipped his tongue into your mouth. You moaned at the feeling and suckled at the talented muscle, making his fingers flex on your hips.

He pulled you impossibly close as you all but made-out like a pair of horny teenagers on the dance floor. And gasped when you felt the hard length of him through his jeans.

You loved to draw, and you became very good in time, enough that the entire lab and some of the village were now covered in your landscapes and your portraits. The people loved you, and your talents, and often urged you to draw them or loved ones, as a way to immortalise a face or a moment forever in time, a priceless gift for them, and one that gave you a place amongst the Na'vi, even different, as you were.

As a human on Pandora, you didn't have a lot of choice of entertainment... or men. But you've never felt the lack... not when you had Neteyam. Your best friend, your confidant, he was always up for a challenge, and, let's just say, he always thought of you as one. In the few years since your 18th birthday, a rite of passage of sorts for humans, you were told, Neteyam made it his purpose to show you that you will never have to miss out on anything on Pandora, that he would make it his life's mission to... be there for you, in any and every way you needed, be it to be a shoulder to cry on, or a shoulder to rest your legs on as his head was in between your thighs, Neteyam was always there - ready to help, ready to serve.

You gulped as you reminisced about this morning, about the moans that escaped him as he was lapping at your folds like he was quenching an unquenchable thirst, like eating you out was for his own pleasure, and not your own, or the way he didn't stop until you were so overstimulated you were crying, something he made up for by showering you in soft kisses and quiet whispers of "you did so well for me, yawne. you always take me so well."

"You ok back there... friend?"

"Yes, Teyam. Just tired. Are we almost there yet?"

"Patience, love. You wanted more inspiration for your drawings, right? I told you I found just the place, and you're going love it, I promise. It's just a little further."

Well, he was right. The little meadow created by a small, clear pond, bustling with little fish swimming peacefully, drowned in warm sunlight, was the perfect backdrop for the painting you had in mind. With a small smirk, you pointed at the water and clicked your tongue at your much larger, beautiful, muscular friend.

"Get in, Teyam."

"Why?"

"I've wanted to draw you for a while, I just wanted the perfect background, and now I have it. Now go."

You chuckled to yourself as you heard a loud splashing noise, and settled on removing your pad and pens, placing them on the ground next to you as you thought about what positions would work best for what you had in mind. You gasped loudly when something soft hit you in the face, removing you from your less than innocent reveries - it seemed Neteyam was ahead of you, as you felt for the object that you removed from yourself and realised it was his loincloth. When you looked back at him, your mind shortcircuited at the sight of his naked body, glistening in the sun as the water dripped down every defined muscle, down his chest and abs, down his v-line, down his -

"You like what you see, yawne?"

Although it pained you, you raised your eyes until they met his beautiful features, tanhí shining brightly even in broad daylight, as they always did when he was overtly happy or amused, and by the wild, mischievous grin and crinkles by his eyes, it was a safe assumption he was both.

"I say you forget the painting for now, and come here so I can show you how... grateful I am you thought of me as your next subject."

It was a no-brainer to you, really, but when you heard a voice you knew all too well screaming, the noise echoing through the trees, heightening the sound, your body stilled in place.

"Neteyam! Are you there, boy?"

"Fuck! I forgot I was supposed to meet my dad for training."

"Quick, throw me the tewn-" you screeched as the instruction came too little too late, and in the heat of the moment and much to Neteyam's dismay, frightened by the quickly approaching steps of the Olo'eyktan, you threw the cloth in the opposing direction, somewhere in the bushes.

"Netey- ah, kid. What are you two doing here?"

You just looked at him, panicked, eyes flickering from him to Neteyam's younger brother, who looked at you suspiciously, eye narrowed as they assessed the situation at hand through a lens of youth and misdemeanour Jake couldn't really see, and you were glad.

"Cat got your tongue, kid?" The Sully patriarch's raised eyebrow did very little to will out of the catatonic state you found yourself in, so you remained quiet as he scoffed, turning his attention to his oldest son, instead.

"You were supposed to be in training at 1400 hours, remember?"

"Yes, sir."

"Come on, out. We need to be off and make up for it."

"I-I... can't."

"And why the hell not, boy?"

You felt Jake's eye roll deep in your soul, and you felt like you should take the blame for this since... you threw Neteyam's clothes away in fear, and everything. You should rectify this.

"Jake, I-"

"Oh, my Eywa! He's naked! He's so naked!"

Your mouth dropped in shock, but it was too late. The cat was indeed out of the bag, and as your and Neteyam's eyes met, listening to his dad's groans of disgust, you were a little relieved to see a hint of a smile on his face, the beautiful twinkle of amusement putting your mind at ease, letting you know it was all going to be ok. As long as you were together, and you had him, it was all going to be ok.

Reaching your hand behind your head to scratch the itchy spot at the base of your neck, you laughed awkwardly as you spoke:

"I'm... experimenting with some new artistic techniques?"

Have you seen that gifset about harbor seals who sleep underwater by wedging themselves between rocks? But then sometimes just freely roll "like a hotdog on the ocean floor"

It just made me think of Nicky in the mer-au for some reason this morning hahaha

Seeing that gifset make it's circles around my Internet presence was a GIFT and I STILL LOVE IT so much 😂 (thank you for your patience with the answer here) they're so cute look at these lil guys they are gorgeous indeed

Can you imagine mer Nicky as the subject of some documentary. I know I have the actual aus set sometime before technology but like. Nicky would be perfect to study and hang out with 😂💕 you're making me want to do a little page pretending to be a mer biologist againnnnn ugh it's so much fun. If you guys have ever thought about doing smth like that you should, it's the best lol

Also while we're talking about water rests; I wasn't gonna bother posting this but hey opportunity arises. Jellyfish are pretty light so they'd also get swept away in currents pretty easy so jellyfish mers absolutely like to wedge themselves between rocks to sleep - but most shark pods are always moving, so jellyNeil and sharkDrew eventually have to find a happy medium which ends up as so:
