don't ask me how I know this but the whole "aliens said humans are containers for souls" thing has been heavily misconstrued

as human beings we live a very material existence so when we hear "container for souls" we think "food, eat, preserve/age something"

but the thing the "aliens" are "consuming" are not our souls, which are eternal, but our emotions and experiences throughout life

we are sims, we "contain" experiences, which equates to a "soul" as we know it. beings from other places/dimensions observe our lives and gain emotional and psychological nourishment from them in the same way we do when we play video games

we are not fast food, we are cosmic theater
