LEARN from yesterday, LIVE for today, HOPE for tomorrow. As i say goodbye to my University of California-Santa Barbara (UCSB) “chapter” of my life, i turn the page to a another “new chapter” sooner than i expected. I’ll always remember my GAUCHO days biking to class (sometimes even in the rain), being surrounded by so many down-to-earth people, going to sporting events at the Thunderdome and Harder Stadium, gaining much knowledge, enjoying the good times, meeting new friends, creating memories, enjoying “Summer  weather” almost everyday of the year....minus the couple days every so often we got our “rain showers”, and much more. No matter where life takes me, i’ll 100% always bleed BLUE & GOLD and will be a GAUCHO TILL I DIE. I think i might have an obsession with college campuses being so close to the water and being surrounded by beautiful scenery. My decision to go to Roger Williams University in the Fall for their graduate school program for their Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program well justifies my obsession. Soon, i’ll be on a plane leaving the west coast and heading to the east coast for a couple years of my life to further my education, meet new people, extend my networks, create new memories, and see parts of the United States i’d never thought i would see myself in.  If you told me when i graduated high school in 2010, that i would’ve attended a great academic and fun school at the University of California - Santa Barbara (UCSB) for 2 great years, and attending GRADUATE SCHOOL pursuing an advanced degree soon after....i would of laughed and said something along the lines of “Psh, yeah right! I can’t do that.” It’s funny how fast those words can change. It really hit me how much i have evolved as a person mentally looking back at “High School Chris”, when i was sitting in my seat at my graduation ceremony on a blistering hot Goleta afternoon (luckily, i wore sunscreen and didn’t burn unlike the day before for one of my good friends graduation ceremony #FarmersTan). Looking around seeing all my successful friends and classmates, really showed how far i made it and how proud i should be of myself. I actually gave myself a pat on the shoulder when that thought came in my mind...It just felt necessary. 

I don’t know which road life will take me from this point on, but i truly believe that i have nothing to worry about. I just need to be me and everything will fall into place when needed to. I believe that God has a plan for me, and i must be patient and keep on doing what i’m doing and he’ll intervene when the time is right. Maybe i’m supposed to go through trials and tribulations before i see green pastures on the other side of the grassy hill. All i really know is that i have a destination, a goal in mind, a passion for serving the public and a hard-working attitude. We’ll see how things play out for me on the east coast, but needless to say, i’m ready for this “new chapter” and adventure in my life and i cant’ wait.
