In 1967, Nikolai Ursin, shot this short independent film which was a slice of life look at a trans woman's life. I've searched through newspaper archives to try and identify the start of the film, but haven't had any luck.
She had the same dreams that many women do, which is to settle down with a partner who appreciates her and who she can appreciate.
According to this bio, Ursin was a film student (MFA '71) at UCLA and was partners with artist Norman Yonemoto when he filmed Behind Every Good Man. Nikolai passed away in 1990, Norman passed away in 2014.

Atomic clocks that excite the nucleus of thorium-229 embedded in a transparent crystal when hit by a laser beam could yield the most accurate measurements ever of time and gravity, and even rewrite some of the fundamental laws of physics. Thorium-229-doped crystals are both scarce and radioactive. A thin film using a dry precursor of thorium-229 shows the same nuclear excitation as the crystal, but its low cost and radioactivity, and smaller size mean its production could be more easily scaled up to make smaller, less expensive, more portable atomic clocks. This summer, UCLA physicists succeeded in getting the nucleus of a thorium-229 atom embedded in a transparent crystal to absorb and emit photons like the electrons in an atom do, ending decades of speculation about whether such a feat was possible. Raising the energy state of an atom's nucleus using a laser, or exciting it, would permit the development of the most accurate atomic clocks ever to exist and allow the most accurate measurements of time and gravity. Such an atomic clock could even rewrite some of the fundamental laws of physics.

TV Noir on the Big Screen
The FNF will co-present Noir Television: Naked City with UCLA Film & Television Archive on Sunday, October 15, 7:00 p.m. at the Billy Wilder Theater located in Los Angeles' Hammer Museum.
The evening comprises two episodes of Naked City, a police drama from the original Golden Age of Television, and an in-person Q&A with FNF board member Alan K. Rode and actor/writer Michael McGreevey between screenings. Based on Jules Dassin's acclaimed 1948 motion picture of the same name, Naked City boasted location photography and a host of New York actors in thoughtful, original teleplays that emphasized character over action.

First, Jack Warden (Twelve Angry Men) guest stars as a fugitive who takes refuge in a tenement rooftop hideaway belonging to a troubled child (Mike McGreevey) in The King of Venus Will Take Care of You (1962). As the police close in, the misfit pair confront each other and their individual life circumstances, which are untenable.
A Horse Has a Big Head — Let Him Worry (1962) plays second. In groundbreaking casting, Diahann Carroll (Julia) guests as an earnest special education teacher searching for a sight-impaired student (John Megna) who, in defiant independence, wanders away on a field trip. Admission is free. Full details and program notes are available on UCLA's website.
