My cannon for the condos is that the units are under strict "no wall and flooring changes" rule, but I cracked in Dina's room because it clashed just too badly with the furniture. I can see her being like "so what?! It's not like I actually HAVE to pay the fee, right??" to a facepalming Nina, though.

(Also Nina cares for the plants, Dina would never).

Can they afford it? Just barely, with the scraps of their inheritance/Michael's cash (hence Dina's growing desperation to remarry rich).

Uberhood (64) - Kat & Riley

Not much happened at the Kat family. Tara still wants to marry Andrew Martin and I think I'll fulfill this wish for her. I packed a few items into her inventory and as soon as I enter the Viejo household, I'll let them celebrate a wedding. The Viejo house is way bigger and especially with all these cats I think it's a good idea to let them move in with Andrew instead of him moving in with her.

The Rileys moved to Old Town a few weeks ago. Their former home in Pleasantview simply became too small for them. Especially after Vivian Riley (née Cho) gave birth to twin boys. I'm also sure the family needed this change of scenery after rumors of infidelity circled around. Have a pic of Etsu Cho-Riley drinking milk in the family's new kitchen.

A few days later Etsu celebrated her birthday with a big birthday party. It's so weird to me to see all these Sims grow up and start their lives. I never played an Uberhood before but it's just so damn fun to see all these different Sims cross paths and to play the game like I never did before. I have to admit that it becomes overhelming sometimes to keep track and avoid incest etc. but thank god for spreadsheets, right? 😅

What I'm Doing With The TS2 Universities: The Best-Laid Plans

So because my darling @uberhood teens are starting to go off to school, I'm starting to remodel the universities! Right now I'm thinking about how to make them distinct from each other-- especially since I overdid it and accidentally added every fucking campus in the game and a few modded ones.

So, I'm making this post so I remember wtf I was planning to do with all of these unis. What architectural styles was I planning to use? What mascots was I planning to give them?

Sim State University

Elevator Pitch: Rub elbows with SimNation's best and brightest-- or get invited to their epic ragers-- at SSU.

Inspiration: The College of William and Mary. An old, red brick campus that's split into the Old Campus and New Campus? That's Sim State U if we ever saw it.

Majors: International Relations (modded), Political Science, History, Economics Mascot: The Fightin' Llamas. Rival School: Land Grant University.

La Fiesta Tech:

Elevator Pitch: The truth is out here! Unlock the secrets of the universe at La Fiesta Tech.

Inspiration: New Mexico State's more modern architecture

Majors: The "Four Ps"-- Paranormal (modded), Physics, Psychology, Philosophy Mascot: The Antisocial Bunnies Rival School: Cactus Canyon University

Academie Le Tour:

Elevator Pitch: "Alta cultura, altior drama." If you want to study the liberal arts, there's nowhere better than Academie Le Tour.

Inspiration: Was it ever going to be anything other than Oxbridge? It was never going to be anything other than Oxbridge.

Majors: Languages (modded), Art, Literature, Drama

Mascot: The Magic Dragons. (TS4 Oxbury Dragon)

Rival School: Caelestis University

Land Grant University:

Inspiration: Texas A&M. I don't expect to have to remodel too many of the buildings, because this isn't a Maxis school-- but if I do, I'm gonna use The Agricultural School Par Excellence as inspo.

Mascot: The Ragin' Bulls (AKA: Cow)

Elevator Pitch: "Study the quirkier side of life and find your people."

Inspiration: OCAD University, Toronto. A mix of traditional turn-of-the-century architecture and the most Gonzo Pomo shit you ever have seen.

Majors: Galactic Ambassador (modded), Crisis Management (modded), Fashion (modded), Art

Mascot: The Clackin' Lobster (from TS4 Britechester)

Rival School: Academie Le Tour

Quaddington University:

Elevator Pitch: "Braiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins...."

Inspiration: The entirety of Abandonedamerica.us, but especially the Warner Swasey Observatory in Cleveland (and, by extension, Case Western Reserve University).

Majors: Dead Languages, Law (modded), Drama, Philosophy

Mascot: N/A. Might un-default the Brahmin mascot suit from @davinaojeda's Fallout set-- I think that would be funny.

Rival School: N/A. Quaddington U just opened its doors to the public again, and hasn't really had time to reestablish rivalries.

I was wondering, do you have multiples dowload folders? Do you switch depending on the save? I lurked on your blog/simblr a lot (as a fervent reader of yours) and genuinely wonder how you manage a) so much cc or b) switching defaults/cc depending on the saves 😊

Hello! Thanks so much for the sweet message! <3 There should be a new baby challenge video coming out later today, I just need to finish editing it xD

I do have multiple downloads folders that I switch out depending on the save, kinda! My EA Games folders looks like this:

(I like it this way, rather than switching just downloads, because this way it isn't possible to load the wrong neighbourhood for the downloads you currently have in and mess up your neighbourhood deco, lol! you can also have different collection files, cameras, etc.)

(Putting the rest under a cut since I got way too detailed describing all this, lmao)

So I have:

a "no cc" game folder for building projects (because I prefer building without cc if I am going to be sharing it)

a "low cc" folder for my YouTube saves, Fiero legacy, and a few other things

my "full cc" folder for my Hollyhead BACC & Pleasantview Plus uberhood.

The last one is definitely too much CC (24GB) and it does noticably make my performance quite bad lol! The game lags a fair bit and will start to flash pink if I play for too long, especially if I am loading large and heavily decorated lots. (This is why I go with a lower-cc vibe for Youtube especially, and whenever I start a new hood these days it tends to be a low-cc one).

Hollyhead & Pleasantview Plus both use the same mods and cc (arguably a mistake LOL), but I do switch out the neighbourhood-specific default replacements, the folders look like this:

There's not that much difference here lol, but they do use different plantsim skins, differences in careers, & Hollyhead has some "fantasy" defaults I don't want showing up in my uberhood.

Then, the "low cc" folder is much more limited! Mostly just essential bodyshop stuff, any maxis sets like the life stories collection or the store stuff, objects that have some sort of useful functionality... but then within that I do have more themed folders I swap in and out depending on the save :)

Robin River is my old for a round robin legacy hood, has some desert-appropriate default replacements & a few bits of cc specificly made for that legacy

Honeycoast is one of those indefinite-hiatus projects, has a lot of "European" build and buy cc as well as defaults

Shellcastle Sands is my legacy hood for the Fieros, the town has a beach city look so has a bunch of fun summery defaults

"Sprucestead" was the beta name for Spruceburg and has all the cc I use in both of my Youtube series. Way fewer default replacements in this folder since I went with more of a pure "maxis match" aesthetic

Each of those folders also includes a slightly different aging mod since I like tweaking that depending on how I am playing the neighbourhood, haha! I also have Uberhood_Mods and Spruceburg_Mods which have a few things that are stuff I want in the 8 baby challenge but not in Sprucebug, and vice versa. (e.g. only the uberhood has the playable nannies mod, Spruceburg has the more dangerous fires mod, etc.)

Uhhhhh, in terms of organisation, I just try to label each folder clearly and keep all my not-in-use folders on my desktop so they're easy to find. I think the different icons make it easier to tell stuff apart! I keep all sort of sims stuff (programs, backups, projects, mods I am saving for later, neighbourhoods, etc) clumped together on my Desktop and tidy it up every once in a while xD

As for how to make the custom icons bc I imagine somebody might ask about this lol, you do it like this:

I downloaded a pack of Sims 4 icons years ago (I can't remember where, sorry!) and made them into .ico files, this was long enough ago I don't really remember the details but I found a wikihow article that explains it xD

Sorry this ended up a crazy-long reply lol, I will say that all this is really not remotely necessary and arguably is quite convoluted and messy, hahha. It's like this bc I have been playing for 10+ years 😅 but I really enjoy organising folders and the like lmao, it's so satisfying to me!

Thank you for stopping by :) I'm Enny and I'm a 30-something year old from Sweden.

In this blog, I'm sharing pictures and stories from my custom hood Neptune, in which I'm trying to complete the build a city challenge for the first time. I'm also posting about my uberhood The Pleasant region.

Thanks to rurpleplayssims and melsie-sims for inspiring me to start my Simblr! Also, check out Marmiteprinter and her second blog (they're both great), and persimmonsimmer, my absolute favorite storyteller on Simblr. Her writing is truly something else!

brainstorming a new uberhood setup and trying to reconcile various lore inconsistencies so here's my headcanon:

Sunset Valley is the equivalent to a (small) state / province / region. SimValley (from Bustin' Out / Sims Console) is a specific sub-region / county within Sunset Valley. Pleasantview (Neighborhood 1) / Old Town / Sim City (Downtown) / Studio Town / Bluewater Village / Riverview (Riverblossom Hills) etc etc are neighborhoods / towns within SimValley.

So, the Goths founded the region of Sunset Valley and being the founders they have multiple properties throughout the region and in various towns / neighborhoods. And of course all of them are called some variation of "Goth Manor / Mansion."

Anyways so for me it goes:

Sunset Valley > SimValley > Pleasantview +++ others, and I imagine it as a sort of California-type area since Studio Town is nearby.

THE MISSING SIMS FROM 1 and 4 (Custom Stealth Hood)

This has been a long time in the works. @profesionalpartyguest​ has probably stopped talking to me over it; @justwierzba​ has probably forgotten about it (and me); and @knut-rocketman​ has probably stopped caring about it, if they ever did.

This is a custom Stealth hood, with some townies, and a lot of ancestors, containing sims from The Sims, and The Sims 4. It also has lots for 7/9 families, including the families which you care about the most. For myself I call it Caldera Lessaules.

Continued below the cut: 

From Neighborhood 1 we have the Roomies (bless their sapphic souls). From Old Town we have Claire Charming, and the Hicks. We also have the Snooty Patooties, because they’re iconic and someone had a headcanon.

From The Sims 4 we introduce 3 families from my Willow Creek - Pancakes, BFFs, and Spencer-Kim-Lewis - including the all important Lydia Spencer (she’s a townie). Also say hi to the Sims 4 Roomies (the New Girl spoofs), the only original family in Oasis Springs (unless you count Johnny Zest, but he’s all tied up with the Landgraabs). We also have the Harris family from Eco Living Newcrest Harbour whatever that pack and town are called.

But don’t just think I’ve left you with families with nowhere to live, there's lots too!

The Pancakes, BFFs, SKLs, and Sims 4 Roomies have the strict recreations-within-limitations - without CC - you know and love from Willow Creek. The Cacti Casa is a new recreation for this hood, the others are cleaned exports from Willow Creek.

For the Sim Lane Roomies, say hello to my labour of love ✨inspired✨ recreation of 10 Sim Lane. It has Foundations! The floor and wall coverings are close calls to the original. Claire Charming and the Hicks have their houses also recreated with Foundations. I found all three Sims 1 recreations really fun to build, and I love how their energies have translated across, especially for the Hicks’ Trailer and 10 Sim Lane. There is also an additional variant of Claire’s House I made for personal reasons.

The Snooty Patooties and the Harris family’s houses haven't been recreated - the latter because I don’t actually own the EP, the former because I would have to base it off of Marka93’s as I have no clue how to get the Downloadable Sims into my Sims 1 game. Besides, they’re added extras, just slip them into your Main Hood, Viper Canyon, Downtown, Bin Lots, it's up to your imagination! Feel free to export the lots and plop them in your main hoods, or just delete the subhood, its fine, I guess…

I hope you enjoy this labour of hate and love. Its an essential ingredient in my own Uberhoods. I genuinely miss these sims - especially the Sims 1 ones - so much in my games otherwise.

This version of “Caldera Lessaules” is officially a testing version, however nothing core is expected to change. That said, make a backup before adding it to your game. I am not responsible if your savefile becomes a BFBVFS and you don't have a backup. I may decide to add or tweak things in the hood, like ancestors, additional townies, etc, or roll-out fixes if people find errors which I haven’t picked up, but please do not hold off downloading if this is something which you'd think you'd love!

The creators mentioned in the first paragraph made most of the ancestors between them. ProfesionalPartyGuest also made the Harrises. Without them my hood would be ancestorless, which depending on if you care about Character File Count, is a good or a bad thing.

Before we'll start the next round I just wanted to let you guys know that I revised my Downloads folder. I threw a lot of stuff out (and added a ton as well. 😅) The Sims and houses won't look any different, don't worry. I also integrated the TS3 Traits Project for TS2 into my game. Now, as we go round, I'll add traits to the different Uberhood Sims. Thank you so much for commenting, liking and sharing your thoughts with me. It means a lot to me and yeah, just thanks. 😊

A ship I have with said character: Pascal/Nervous. I quite like them, despite the fact that I do explore them a bit differently in my games nowadays. In my current hood they don't necessarily work out, but there is a deep level of trust, care and understanding there. He might also be pretty fun with Penelope Redd? She reads very Dana Scully to me and once you've watched the X Files or Lone Gunmen you know what I'm getting at here haha. Him and Kayleigh Wintercrest could also work very well together I imagine and if not romantically, definitely as friends.

A BROTP I have with said character: Pascal/Emily Emory or Pascal/Patrick Jones. Some rather odd friendship pairs, but in my old Strangetown they got along quite well haha. Also, of course Pascal gets along great with his brothers. If I played in an Uberhood I also think him and Cassandra could be good friends.

A NOTP I have with said character: Uhhh... Nothing comes to mind atm. Pascal/Lola or Pascal/Chloe I guess since they're siblings. I have no strong opinions on any other Pascal ships haha.

A random headcanon: He had a phase where he wore quite a few leather jackets. Still keeps them in his closet and pulls them out from time to time when he needs to go out and do some things. I also think his and Vidcund's relationship became kind of strained after the whole Tycho thing. Especially since Vidcund has no way of proving that it wasn't him.

General Opinion over said character: I enjoy him! He's a fun guy to play around with in-game cause there are so many different directions you can take him.

So, reinstalling my game broke a few of my old houses, especially apartments. and the brokes for some reason? I don't really play in my uberhood anymore, nor do I really plan to continue my pleasantview story. (if you were waiting for that uh... congrats on/thanks for following me for 3+ years ig?)

I still have a billion headcanons for them, but I just find Arkhelios to be far more compelling and fun and also more original on my part writing wise so 🤷‍♀️

ANYWAYS, I had to move out a ton of sims and back in. and since The Brokes feel more like an apartment family anyways, I moved them entirely.
