Tiger Zinda Hai had the fifth highest opening day of all time but as can be seen with the chart below it is surrounded by films which have a holiday and all are big national holiday. The only ones without a holiday are Bahubali - The Conclusion, Tiger Zinda Hai and Dhoom 3. In terms of Salman Khan starrers its the third highest opener after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan.

It is that afternoon period that the non holiday releases have a shortfall in collections unless it is a craze like Bahubali - The Conclusion where holiday or no holiday does not matter.  It makes it four 30 crore nett plus openers for Salman Khan while Shahrukh Khan and Ajay Devgn have two each. Dabangg 3 box office collection day 2: Salman Khan’s film affected by CAA protests, earns Rs 46.5 crore - bollywood

Salman Khan’s latest film, Dabangg 3’s box office collection on the second day of release was similar to its business on the opening day, says a report in Box Office India. The film has made an estimated Rs 22- 24 crore nett on day 2. The report added that though the film is being well received in the Hindi belt, the ongoing unrest over the Citizenship Amendment Act has hit the film hard. With an estimated earnings of Rs 22-24 crore, the film has to work wonders on Sunday to ramp up the numbers. It said that the earnings could easily have been in the range of Rs 55-58 crore nett over two days, had there been no law and order problems. The overall two-day figure for Dabangg 3 stands at Rs 46.50 crores. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh had earlier tweeted the day 1 numbers and said that the film had made Rs 24.50 crores. He wrote, “#Dabangg3 Fri ₹ 24.5 cr. #India biz. Note: ALL VERSIONS.” He had earlier explained, “#Dabangg3 hits ₹ 20 cr+ on Day 1 thanks largely to #SalmanKhan’s star power... 'Tiger Zinda Hai'' continues to dominate the box-office, crosses Rs 150-crore mark

Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai has completely decimated the box-office.According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Ali Abbas Zafar-directorial has recorded the highest Monday of all time, as far as Hindi films are concerned.

The flick registered Rs 36.54 crore on its first Monday and crossed the Rs 150-crore mark at the domestic box-office.

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Tiger Zinda Hai BEATS Aamir Khan's Dangal and Sultan's opening shows' records

Salman Khan and  Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai is one of the biggest releases this year. The movie helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar is expected to break all the box office records made by Hindi cinema overall.  

The movie which is a sequel to Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger is about India and Pakistan uniting against a common enemy. Tiger Zinda Hai has already recorded the best opening day occupancy report so far after Baahubali: The Conclusion and has now even beaten Aamir Khan's Dangal and Salman's earlier release Sultan in terms of opening shows records.

According to a report on a trade site, Tiger Zinda Hai has easily surpassed Dangal's opening shows record which was also a Christmas release last year. The collection in metros like Mumbai and Bangalore are reportedly a little better than Dangal but in places like Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, the occupancy is said to be double than that of Dangal.  

When compared to Sultan, the morning shows have shown similar turn out as that of Sultan but again Sultan was released on a National holiday. Hence, it will be interesting to see how the movie fares on the upcoming Christmas weekend which is sure to work in TZH's favour- thanks to the positive word of mouth.  

Well, it seems Tiger has finally arrived to rescue the industry from the otherwise disastrous year.
