★ Tiger Zinda Hai Set To Be 3rd Highest Nett Grosser Ever !

Tiger Zinda Hai is on course to be the third highest grossing film of all time in terms of NETT collections. The film had a blip on the last day of the fifth week as the Paadmavat problems meant a lot of multiplexes could not screen Tiger Zinda Hai due to the multiplexes having to close for the day.

The fact that Padmaavat could not be screened in places like Rajasthan and Gujarat and many cities of UP and plus the national holiday gave Tiger Zinda Hai a good boost. Tiger Zinda Hai has grossed around 60-65 lakhs nett on its sixth Friday and although there will be a drop on Saturday the films looks set to cross the NETT number of PK in its seventh week..

Tiger Zinda Hai: Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are clean bowled by each other's Swag

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are all set to show off their swag in Tiger Zinda Hai's first song.

Salman Khan is all set to enthrall us all with his Tiger avatar in Ali Abbas Zafar's Tiger Zinda Hai which also stars Katrina Kaif. The movie releases on December 22, 2017.

Before the release of the first song from the movie, Swag Se Swagat, Salman shared a hot picture of Katrina and boy seems like the superstar himself is left clean bowled.

He captioned the image as, "Ufff! @KatrinaKaif ka SWAG toh dekho! #SwagSeSwagat @TigerZindaHai."

A few minutes later, Katrina shared a picture of Salman and captioned it, "Nobody does swag like @beingsalmankhan.......#swagseswagat @tigerzindahai

2017 saw a film get 5 crore plus footfalls and a film get 3 crore plus footfalls with another close to 2 crore footfalls. The top three films managed to get 10 crore plus admissions and this has not been since 1994 and here it was more because of one film Hum Aapke Hain Kaun which topped 7 crore footfalls. It was a great showing by the top three films in 2017.

If 1994 it was all about Hum Aapke Hain Kaun which set the box office on fire then last year it was about Bahubali - The Conclusion which emerged the biggest blockbuster of this century and the second biggest blockbuster of the last 25 years. 5 crore admissions looked like it was never going to happen again but Bahubali - The Conclusion proved it is still possible. The 510 crore nett business of Bahubali - The Conclusion will be beaten maybe in a couple of years or it may take longer but the real target for a film to be a historic great is the 5 crore plus footfalls. That is the challenge set by Bahubali - The Conclusion.

★ Tiger Zinda Hai Has Very Steady Third Week !

Tiger Zinda Hai had another huge week adding 27 crore nett apprx in the third week to take its total to 318.50 crore nett in three week. The film has crossed the NETT business of Bajrangi Bhaijaan but it has to be noted that it is not yet the highest grosser of Salman Khan as there have been tax changes over the past year so the amount collected at the box office (GROSS) is still lower than Bajrangi Bhaijaan (422 crore) and Sultan (414 crore).

The GROSS numbers of Tiger Zinda Hai are 403.70 crore so there is still some work to do reach Bajrangi Bhaijaan and even Sultan. The drop in the third week is 68% which is very strong considering the previous week was a holiday week. The target for the film this week will be to remain the top film despite facing some competition from Hindi films for the first time since it released.

Tiger Zinda Hai showed growth of 50% on its third Saturday to collect around 5.50-5.75 crore nett. This growth was better than the second Saturday which was around 30%. It has probably happened because the collections are at a lower level in third weekend.

The film also hit the 300 crore nett mark and its business is now at a similar number to Sultan and by the end of the third week it will be at the Bajrangi Bhaijaan level or very close. The film is easily going to become the highest NETT grosser of Salman Khan but in GROSS numbers which is the actual amount collected at the ticket window its going to be a a tight call and could even stay below both Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan.

Paadmavat has recorded the 14th highest weekend of all time (first three full days) but if we account for the territories missing and put a real value on the film then the 75.50 crore nett it has done becomes 101 crore nett.

So in real value the film has  a 101 crore nett weekend and this is giving Gujarat a mid estimate when its likely it will probably would have done towards the higher estimate. It makes the film the sixth highest weekend of all time in real value and that is on a worst case scenario. Though an important note that the reason why the all India value comes this high is also the reason for a partial reason and that is the long running controversy of the film with various groups. The controversy factor of Padmaavati can be seen in the figures below. these are numbers for cities which had a clear run and were little affected by protests and violence over the Fri - Thu period. There were issues in Gurgaon and Lucknow on day one (Thursday) but after it went clear.

The figures match or better the Tiger Zinda Hai numbers on Xmas week which pretty much tells how much hype was created as to match the Tiger Zinda Hai numbers on Xmas week is insane. This was simply impossible if the hype and controversy was not there. Actually when the trailer launched of Padmaavat  it would be unthinkable for it to match Tiger Zinda which had a holiday week. Maybe a case could be made for Mumbai but definitely not North. The smaller the the center goes then Tiger Zinda Hai starts to lead as the media hype works less in smaller places. Places like Jalandhar and Amritsar are A centers but smaller compared to the rest on the list and these are the only ones where Tiger Zinda Hai has a comfortable lead.

The film may have not released at many places but these is no doubt that the controversy has pushed this film to a different level especially in the centers below which had a clear run. The year 2017 failed to deliver ten clean hit films which last happened in 2010 and had 18 successful releases out of 240 plus releases. On top the biggest blockbuster Bahubali - The Conclusion was not really a product of the Hindi film industry. This film emerged one of the greatest blockbusters of all time selling 5.25 crore tickets in Hindi at the box office and then smashing every single record on television.

The year was heading for a bit of a disaster but the big HITS did come towards the end of the year which saved it somewhat. Tiger Zinda Hai, Golmaal Again, Judwaa 2, Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Fukrey Returns all come in the last 4-5 months and along with Badrinath Ki Dulhania were the six big HITS from the Hindi film industry in 2017.

Tiger Zinda Hai had another strong weekend at it collected 17.50 crore nett in its third weekend. This has taken the total business of the film to around 309 crore nett in seventeen days. the growth was again huge on Sunday at around 50% as mass centers collected very well.

The film is now the highest NETT grosser ever in Bihar, Assam and Odisha if we take out Bahubali - The Conclosion. Tiger Zinda Hai ois also closing in on the 100 crore nett mark in Mumbai with collection of 95 crore nett in seventeen days. It will become the fourth film to cross 100 crore nett in Mumbai after PK , Dangal and Bahubali - The Conclusion. Both the outright Hindi films PK and Dangal grossed 104 crore nett in Mumbai and there is a chance that Sultan can hit that number.

Tiger Zinda Hai showed around 65% growth on its fifth Saturday to collect 1.25 crore nett and takes its lifetime total to 331.75 crore nett. The film will become the highest Salman Khan GROSSER today as it beats the GROSS figures of Bajrangi Bhaijaan (422 cr).

The film may also cross the NETT figure of PK which is third highest Hindi NETT grossers after Bahubali - The Conclusion and Dangal but it all depends on what happens with Padmavati because if that film gets a restricted release it will allow Tiger Zinda Hai an extended run where it can add 2-3 crore nett to go past the PK number..

Tiger Zinda Hai is closing in on the 500 crore mark worldwide with 487 crore in fifteen days. The film has GROSS figures of 374 crore in INDIA and 113 crore in OVERSEAS . The 500 crore mark should be crossed by the end of the third weekend.

The film is standing seventh after Bahubali - The Conclusion, Dangal, PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Sultan and Dhoom 3 in the All Time list of worldwide grossers for Hindi films and it should beat Dhoom 3 in the list but not the others. The Overseas business of the film is good but not as big as it could have been on Christmas and on top a couple of markets where most Hindi films release did not see a release for this film. The difference between Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan in terms of worldwide business will be mainly down to to the Overseas business.

Bahubali - The Conclusion is a record holder for every day but Tiger Zinda Hai set an all time record by having the highest second Monday of all time going past the figures of Bahubali - The Conclusion which collected around 16.50 crore nett on its second Monday. The holiday factor pushed the film to this record by probably doubling its real value figure. The figures below show that its only the real big grossers in the race when it comes to a second Monday.

It again show how much a difference a big holiday can make as the Bahubali - The Conclusion second weekend number was 65-70% more than Tiger Zinda Hai but it still managed to go ahead on the Monday due to the holiday.
