different kinds of tics
Tics can divided into few categories: simple/complex and motor/vocal.
Motor tics are movements. Examples: blinking, shoulder shrugging, making faces or gestures, etc.
Vocal tics are sounds. Examples: meowing, barking, saying words or sentences, whistling, etc.
sometimes it can be hard to differentiate between them. I have a tic in which i click my tongue. It is a movement, but there is also a sound to it. I'm not sure whether it's the movement or the sound that makes the pre-tic tension go away.
Complex tics involve a lot of different muscles. They can appear as something done intentionally, but they are never intentional. Examples: saying words or frazes, making gestures, jumping, grimacing, etc
Simple tics are quick, and, well, simple. Examples: winking of an eye, tensing of a specific muscle, sniffing, simple "woo", or a similar sound, etc
Different types of tics can feel very different. They may alleviate the pre-tic tension in different ways. For example i need to hear the whistle in order for the tension to disappear, but I don't need to hear my meowing for the tension to go away.
I may not even notice some of my simple motor tics. but sometimes there is a big cumulation of them and it's awful. Some of the more complex ones feel like i'm being controlled by some alien life force or sth. And some of my complex tics are chill, and idc. It really depends on the day, on what I'm doing and what my tics are at the moment.

the last two paragraphs are based purely on my own experiences. Other people with tics will probably experience things differently.

if you keep eating from the trash, you'll get food poisoning. most of the food is probably rotten, that's why it's in the trash there's also a possibility that a maus got it's saliva all over what you're eating you could also get a virus if the food's contaminated with malware because someone sick ate some of it

Kinda hate when people act like acceptance and accommodation is all we need to stop all neurological disorders from being disabling cause there is literally no amount of social tolerance that would stop tourettes from being an absolutely miserable condition to live with

Random headcanon that is simultaneously kind of funny but also makes a lot of sense.
Wesker with auditory processing disorder. He hears everything way too well and this translates to not understanding what someone is telling him because they were facing away, not enunciating enough and there was a fan on in the next room over and two clocks, which aren’t synchronized, ticking in the room they’re in and down the hall.
Having to ask Chris to please repeat what he said when they were discussing something on a smoke break because a “car drove past” and he only caught the last half of that.
Having to hide the lab’s clock in a soundproof box to carry a conversation with William when tired because it was too loud and Will was mumbling.
Also, sometimes your other senses mess with your hearing when you have auditory processing disorder. And he likely has very sensitive eyes so…
Having to tell Excella to wait a minute because the lights are too bright for him to hear anything, dimming them or putting his sunglasses back on and asking her to repeat herself.
Not actually hearing much of anything Chris is saying while in the volcano because it’s too hot and bright and he can hear the rocks melting and Uroboros squirming.
(In DBD) not being able to hear anything above the sounds of the generators during a match. Some maps being too bright to hear the survivors correctly.
If he wasn’t as prideful as he is he’d probably tell people he’s hard of hearing and needs them to enunciate and speak clearly when talking to him.

I had a really hard time picking the last six favorites for this list because there are just so many pokemon I like! After seeing @haveyouusedthispokemon share a lot of these polls, I wanted to include more of my less popular favs like the Chikorita line and Klinklang, but most of the pokemon I ultimately chose made it in for sentimental reasons.
In no particular order, here are some honorable mentions for the pokemon that just barely didn't make the cut: Farigiraf, Mega Absol, Espeon, Dusknoir, Slither Wing, Alolan Ninetales, Sneasel, Xerneas

What’s Tic’s and Tac’s type?
hmm. that's a hard one
these mens aren't picky
Tac likes someone he can easily fluster, but if you can fluster him, he's putty in your hands. :3 (his Grillby's one of the few that can fluster him with flirts, most ppl will have to get vry sweet with him to get him all red (example: kissing his bite scares))
Tic likes a big sweetheart (and a big flirt), one of his main receiving love languages probably being words of affirmation.
physical appearance wise, they don't really care. in monster culture, it's not common to care about that, with everyone looking so different.
tho Tac might have a bit more fun teasing someone shorter than him, and both might like soft and squishy skin, and soft hair, in contrast to their bone.
(suggestive bits under th cut 👀)
ofc Tac will have plenty of fun with someone who's already easily submissive, but he might have even more fun with someone feisty, someone who plays hard to get, the challenge of getting the stubborn ones flustered/submissive being a fun and rewarding one. (and if someone manages to dominate him, i mean.. he's not complaining. 👀)
Tic does not mind a submissive partner, however he is a lot more receptive to a dominant one than Tac. He's likely to be the one in bindings. (also.. might be turned on by a more. scary/intimidating person.)

1, 4, 9, 21? :]
End of the year ask game - Accepting!
(My apologies in advance, my memory has been really shabby lately so my answers are from fairly recent experiences) 1 - Song of the year?
Not going to mention Spotify Wrapped because the first one is a game soundtrack from a game I NEVER PLAYED that I just liked to daydream to- But now to pick one single song for the year is not easy... Oh wait I know.
The Sound of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel). I can't explain exactly why (RP lore aside), I just find this song incredibly soothing and calming. Soft yet powerful. It gets to the heart. It speaks of loneliness, and, ironically, how the masses are affected by it. I love it lots.
4 - Movie of the year?
I did go more often to the cinema this year, as opposed to the previous one- but nothing that really amazed me to the point of mentioning it here. But I also DID see some movies with friends on Discord, and frankly, one that has stuck with me was "Wallace and Gromit - The curse of the Were-Rabbit". I don't remember laughing so much, the British humor is so on point and SO TOUCHING... Looking forward to watching the next one in early January!
9 - Best month for you this year? This year has been very slow paced- with up and downs (the troubles that comes with self-employment and job hunting) which little by little drew me weary, dull, and, frankly, pretty lonely (that's what happens when you get your diploma in the opposite side of the country AND work as a freelancer).
Anyway, back to the point - I'll cheat and say a month period rather than name a single month : the period from October to November. In October I pushed myself to shove my jobless shame aside to return to uni for an anniversary event- it allowed me to travel, meet former classmates/teachers but also get back in touch with friends in Paris. I also got to spend some awesome time with another friend (hello, that's you!!) on my way back home! It felt like a breath of fresh air, to travel and reconnect with people, remember you're worthy and loved, no matter your struggles, and to build some must needed confidence. Then November came and so started my Simpsons hyperfixation. It may sound incredibly silly, but I do believe it's important because I do not remember feeling so hyped about a show- to the point of getting me back into posting artworks online, something I had completely dropped in the latest years! So really, I do think it's worth mentioning. So I'm taking the opportunity that you sent me this ask to thank you for your hospitality AND for giving me the good old Simpsons virus. ♥
21 - What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?
Had it been the end of last year I'd say my new PC set- that I'm very happy about, frankly. A must needed upgrade, but that would be cheating for this year's ask, so... The only thing new in my room this year? My translation master diploma. I would say it's "not much" but it's not the case - it's the conclusion of a hectic chapter of my life - one that had started in genuine confusion, fell apart with a nasty burn out, then slowly but surely improved as I got back up and started from scratch. And here it is. Sitting on top of my printer, always in sight, to remember what I've gone through and what I've achieved when I feel like I had wasted my time. It's a nice reminder, and particularly empowering considering things have been starting to improve professional-wise, so... I like to think 2025 will be the year my translation career will really start to take off. :)

confused how I fit into the spectrum of intelligence and ability
I relate much to borderline ID experiences but have always been considered exceptionally smart good with words pattern recognition detail oriented etc etc
feels like I'm smart only in hyperspecific situations like with special interests. bad at math bad at communication bad at movement bad at thinking
know I have dyslexia dyscalculia autism tics but don't really fit with any
and system make it more difficult to determine place (alters different ages mentalities skills)
considered savant before but not really fit that either

I forgot we get weird muscle tremors (and a tic in the same muscle) in our throat sometimes but I also somehow didn't realise those muscles can spasm in a way that makes you feel like you're being strangled even though you can still breathe and swallow perfectly fine. what the actual fuck

Hello! First of all, Tic is so cute I would just love to give him a hug! But also have a tiny question.. How does it feel when a tic is about to happen? I could imagine that sometimes it's hard to register before it happens, but I also know you can supress them a litte? So I'm very curious!
Tumblr media
(U get litol Tic hug, bc I felt like it. :3)
Ok, so there is a very specific feeling/sensation, which may be hard to explain, but the closest comparison I can think of is like. the feeling you get before a yawn? but a bit more? tingly?? Most ppl compare tics to sneezes, but I think at least the feeling itself is closer to the urge to yawn. It's also more. in your body, or specifically the part of your body that want's to tic.
(I hope I'm explaining that well. I don't often take conscious notes of how these things feel lol.)
And yes, you'd be right about that. It is sometimes hard to register before it happens. Sometimes we might not even feel it at all before it happens, or it can also be just to sudden to catch.
