that's how long you and tyler duke have kept up your fake relationship.

two months and you've got squat for your side of the deal.

"tyler this isn't really fair. you've got your biology grade up and i am no closer to talking to will," you pointed out.

tyler stared at you before eating his ice cream.

he wanted to say something to you but one of the waitresses came by with a banana spilt.

"the guys over there wanted me to give this to you," she gestured to the counter where luke and dylan were standing.

you groaned and hit your head against the table as tyler rolled his eyes at the older boys.

"what are you doing here?" tyler asked, his voice laced with annoyance.

"ice cream," his brother replied, lifting the cone he bought.

luke happily took a seat next to you whilst dylan sat next to tyler. the former took a spoon from the bowl and ate a good chunk of the banana split he bought.

"i also know what day it is and knew you'd want someone other than mini duke to keep you company," he added.

tyler looked between you and luke in confusion. he then looked to his brother with raised eyebrows. "it’s my birthday," you told him sheepishly

"what? y/n/n i’m such a horrible boyfriend!” he exclaimed. truth be told tyler knew your birthday was this month, he just couldn’t remember the exact date.

in his head, he had planned a dinner with you and an amazing night to celebrate your birthday.

you smiled at tyler and held his hand. “it’s okay ty. i didn’t want anyone to make a big deal out of it,” you told him.

luke then proceeded to hand you a small teal bag. you looked at the bag sceptically before peeking inside.

"luke warren hughes, how did you afford this?" you asked.

inside the bag was a teal box which contained a dainty bracelet, the tiffany blue heart dangling on the end.

a small piece of paper caught your eye next "oo, there's a little card!" you squealed.

luke was quick to slam his hand over the paper. "this is personal. it's between me, you, jack and quinn," he emphasised.

your heart melted.

the hughes brothers always wished you for your birthday as soon as the clock struck twelve. it had been a tradition since you could remember

it was definitely more of an effort than your own siblings had made.

tyler could sense that your emotions were running haywire so he intertwined your fingers with his. you looked up sat him and smiled before leaning on his shoulder.

"i really just came to give you this present and wish you happy birthday munchkin," luke wished you once more before leaving the shop.

you and tyler stayed seated at the shop for another twenty minutes before he drove you home.

the next day, after your study session with tyler, the boy had given you twenty minutes to get changed before calling you back to his car.

"are you going to tell me where we're going?" you asked. tyler had told you to get dressed in your best dress and refused to elaborate any further.

the two of you arrived at a fancy restaurant and tyler acted as the best gentlemen he could. "I hope you know I didn't forget your birthday y/n/n. i just got the dates mixed up," he explained.

you smiled and kissed his cheek. "it doesn't matter ty,"

but the duke boy shook his head. “you’re my girlfriend y/n/n and i want to spoil you,”

you never got to ask what he meant until he pulled out a little gift bag, the same colour as the one luke got you.

Saturday night after win the boys always want to throw a party, tonight the Sophomores were hosting.

Tyler told me to come over right after the game, so we could pregame together and see each other alone before everyone gets here.

Tyler and I have been dating for almost 6 months now. It started at the end of last season, only our family knows well except Dylan. We want to keep our relationship on the down low. The boys on the team have no idea but I think they have their suspicions.

I just got to the Sophomores house. Tyler gave me a key about a month ago so I let myself in and went to his bedroom so I could start getting ready. 

Once I changed into some black ripped mom jeans and a cute long sleeve navy blue satin top. When I was done I laid down on Tyler’s bed waiting for him to get home.

About 10 minutes later I heard someone walking up the steps, and Tyler came in.

Once he saw me he smiled. I sat up against the headboard of the bed and smiled at him.

“Hey babe,” he said, walking over to me and giving me a kiss.

“Hey, good game today” i said smiling

“Thanks, i’m happy you’re here” he said

“Me too” 

“I’m going to get changed and then we can go downstairs” he said and i nodded

“Sounds good to me” he gave me a kiss and walked to his closet to get some clothes before going into the bathroom to change. 

When he got out of the bathroom he came and laid down beside me, pulling me to his chest. I started giggling when he kissed my neck.

“I thought we were going downstairs?” I asked

“In a minute, I need to spend time with you before everyone gets here” 

“If you want we can tell the guys, it’s been 6 months. I'm sure some of them might have their suspicions.” I told him, and he looked at me surprised.

“Are you sure?” 

“Yeah, i mean our families already knows, we don’t have to tell them tonight but we can walk down together and see what they say” 

“Yeah, I'm good with that, I don’t want to be away from you tonight, I love you” he said, kissing my forehead before getting out of bed and dragging me with him.

“I love you too, now let’s go get ourselves something to drink” I said as we walked down the stairs holding hands there were already a few other guys here.

When Mark saw us all hell broke loose.

His eyes widened when he saw Tyler and I holding hands.

“OH MY GOD, I KNEW IT” he yelled.

Dylan looked at him confused.

“Knew what?” He asked him, Mark pointed to us.

Dylan saw what he met and he started laughing 

“Hell yes! Ethan, you owe me 20 bucks, Tyler and y/n are dating!” 

“Seriously!” Ethan is annoyed that he owes Dylan some money. He pulled out his wallet, pulled a bill and handed it to a happy Dylan.

Tyler and I just laughed.

I looked up at him and smiled.

“Told you they had their suspicions” I said , smirking.

Tyler rolled his eyes and smiled. 

“Yeah, yeah, let’s get you something to drink,” he said

when the younger duke brother approached you about tutoring him in biology, he had come with the ultimatum of helping you get with his teammate and friend.

you didn't get to say anything else as the bell rang and sarah dragged you to class without the boys.

since the morning you'd only seen tyler twice and never got to talk to him about your arrangement until it was the end of school.

"did you drive?" he asked.

you nodded and he smiled taking your hand in his. you tried staying put but tyler was stronger as he dragged you to the parking lot, gesturing for you to point to your car.

"tyler why the fuck do our friends think we're dating?" you asked immediately.

"jesus women, i don't know. cutter said he saw us on friday and then frank thought we were dating and they didn't take no for an answer," he explained quickly.

you groaned, hitting your head on the headrest.

"oh and my mum might also think we're dating because of the guys," he added.

you didn't say anything and instead continued driving to the duke house. tyler thought about what he could say without meeting his death but decided against anything.

"oh y/n/n, thank you so much for helping tyler," sharon thanked you, giving you a hug.

you hugged the older woman back, embracing her warmth. "of course mrs duke, anything for a friend," you forced the last bit out.

sharon wiggled her eyebrows at the two of you.

"okay mum, y/n and i are going to study," tyler excused the two of you.

not even give minutes later, tyler's mum came into his room with snacks and a question. "sweetie, you and your family are still coming over for thanksgiving right?"

you shrugged, in all honesty, your parents were out of town to celebrate thanksgiving with your sister and her boyfriend leaving you back at home because you had school.

"mum and dad went to see kayla," you answered, not really saying you were coming but also saying not saying you weren't.

sharon nodded. she was about to talk to ellen about making sure you come over seeing as your houses were next door to each other.

tyler knew his mother was going to make you come for lunch but he didn't want to ruin the fun so he stayed quiet, listening to you explain mitosis.

that's how you found yourself sat in between tyler and luke on thanksgiving surrounded by luke's teammates.

"so tyler and y/n/n, what's this i hear you guys are dating?" dylan asks.

you choke on your piece of turkey and luke spits his drink out as tyler tries to help you.

"where are you hearing this bullshit?" you asked.

dylan sealed his lips "i'm not revealing my secrets," he joked.

luke looked between you and tyler, the latter having his arm around your shoulder. the last time he spoke to you, you were cursing the ground tyler walked on. so saying luke was confused was a huge understatement.

"when did this happen?" luke asked, going into older brother mode.

although you were panicking a little as you and tyler never truly discussed the change in your relationship the younger duke brother had everything under control.

"lasy summer. when you guys went out one day, y/n/n and I headed out to get ice cream together. we decided that since it was our senior year we'd put a stop to the whole hating each other thing. after that I asked her out to the arcade," tyler answered.

Mason and I have been dating for about 1 years, I am a junior at Boston College. 

I was hanging out with him earlier but I came back to my place since I needed to finish some homework and I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it at his place. 

By the time I finished my homework it was 11:00 p.m. so I went to bed. 

It’s now 1:45 a.m. and I can’t seem to fall asleep, all I’ve been doing is tossing and turning. 

I groaned and threw my blanket off me, I put on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie. I grabbed my car keys before making my way out of the apartment and on my way to Mason’s place.

Thankfully mason lives 10 minutes away.

Once I got there I made my way inside with the key that he gave me when we had hit 6 months in our relationship and I made my way to his room.

I opened his bedroom door slowly so I wouldn’t wake him up and made my way on the right side of the bed. I pulled the blanket and got under, before cuddling into Mason. On instinct he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer to his chest. 

I heard him groaned before reaching over me to grab his phone, He’s usually a hard sleeper so I didn’t think I would wake him up.

His phone lights up and it shows that it’s 2:00 a.m. He turned it off and put it back down before pulling me close and kissing the back of my head.

“Babe, what are you doing here? I thought you were going to sleep at your place tonight?” He asked softly.

“I wanted cuddles” I whispered.

He chuckled.

“You drove here and came into my room at 2am to cuddle?” He teased.

“Yes… and I couldn’t sleep, please just hold me” I whispered almost embarrassed, even though I know he doesn’t mind. 

He pulled me closer to his chest if that’s even possible, before placing a kiss on my cheek.

“Get some sleep, I am more than happy to give you cuddles” he said.

“Thank you, I love you” 

“I love you more”

It didn’t take long for me to fall asleep in his arms.

james and hannah have a bit of an extensive history

they've known each other for four years after meeting when james moves to plymouth for the usntdp

hannah doesn't really pay much mind to james when they're in plymouth because she's so focused on gymnastics and being at the gym

they only really have conversations in passing or when they're in large groups, but she does know of him

james, however, does notice hannah

the first time she's at one of the games he takes an immediate interest to her and starts asking around to figure out who she is

when he figures out she's tyler duke's twin sister and is good friends with samy, he tries to get an in, but nothing really happens

when the class of 2023 graduates and goes to college, things sort of fall off for a year and hannah isn't really thinking of any of the hockey players

with the olympics that summer, she's focusing on doing well and getting acclimated to her new team at umich

hannah and james don't see one another again until the usntdp play umich and samy drags her to go to catch up with the younger boys and obviously watch tyler, ethan, and mark play

when the game finishes hannah hangs back with samy so they can say hi to everyone

this is when james and hannah quickly reconnect and spark up a conversation with one another while samy talks to teddy and cole

it's pretty obvious they hit it off and hannah agrees to give james her number after him pining over her last year

she finally starts noticing him because they start texting and interacting more on social media

samy still occasionally goes to the dev games when she's free so hannah tags along claiming she just wants to watch the game and definitely not see james afterwards

that next summer after her freshman year, they get pretty busy with hannah trying out for team usa at the olympic trials and james is busy with u18 worlds

obviously james has the olympics on, specifically gymnastics, and watches hannah win her olympic gold medal for bars (her speciality) and team win

they text all that summer while hannah's in paris and james is constantly congratulating her for how well she's doing

they don't see one another until the end of the summer when samy invites people to the lake house for one last get together before school sweeps all of them away again

they talk pretty much the entire night catching up and talking about their summers

by the end of that night, they're kissing but hannah's never really been into relationships so it puts a bit of a strain on their relationship

they're still thinking about one another when they're back at college, so on a whim, hannah flies out to boston with samy to see him when samy goes for her exhibition game

they confess everything in that short trip which finally leads to them getting together!

she's close with all of her siblings but not as close as samy is with her brothers or will with grace

they love each other obviously and they talk everyday, but hannah and tyler bicker more than anything with one another — it's one of those sibling relationships where we bicker, but i'll drop everything for you if you really needed it

her birthday is july 19th, 2005! (so she's a year and 4 months older than james) (yes this is tyler's actually birthday we're just pretending for the fic that he was born in 2005 and not 2004)

she's been into gymnastics since she could walk basically and her mom put her in as soon as she was cartwheeling instead of walking around the house

she really fell in love with it and built a strong community within gymnastics as she grew up and got better and better

she was a level 10 by 13 years old

their family moves to michigan when dylan begins the dev program in 2019, so she joins a gym in plymouth and commits to homeschooling full time so she has more time in the gym

she quickly becomes very independent as she gets older because it's not that she has a bad relationship with her parents, their devotion just gets split a lot because of all of their kids doing different things

her independency is what causes hannah to not really be interested in dating or having a boyfriend because she really learns on how to rely on herself and be there for herself instead of someone else doing that for her

so when james comes into her life it's all very foreign and somewhat new to her, especially when things start getting a little more serious

obviously she's had flings with other guys and "dated", but none of it was ever serious to her and she was just doing it for fun honestly

sort of got the reputation as heartbreaker because she was always the one to break things off

winning an olympic gold medal has always been her dream though and when it finally happens she's in such disbelief

when her and james do become official and she gives him a chance, they decide quickly to keep things more private

hannah has never been once to just announce to everyone what her relationship status is and who she's dating

james helps her not to get in her head too much and gently teaches her that it's okay to rely on people every once in awhile

it's a hard thing for hannah to learn, but she opens up to him more and lets him into her little bubble

everyone calls her a cougar (in a loving way) when they finally find out

him and michael are very close (obviously because michael waited to be able to play at boston with him)

his birthday is november 3rd, 2006!

he's always been really into hockey because of his brother and he really looks up to michael

when he's in michigan for dev program, that's where he meets "the gang" and hannah quickly catches his attention when she goes to one of the games

the older guys didn't necessarily intimidate james, but they were older and he didn't really know tyler duke that well

but he talked around with gabe, ryan, and will knowing hannah was close to samy and maybe they could get him his in

because him and michael have always relied on one another, james was baiscally the opposite of independent

he always liked doing things with people and being around people, so hannah being independent and not needing anyone was hard for him to get through to at first

it pretty much started as a puppy crush and one james didn't have much hope in really taking off

plus, a bunch of guys told him she was a "heartbreaker" and he shouldn't get himself involved if he didn't want his heart to get broken

he was a bit disappointed him and hannah hardly talked before she graduated except in group settings or in passing when he'd try to strike up a conversation with her

he kind of gave up his crush when hannah went to college and he was still in plymouth, but that didn't really last long when hannah occasionally tagged along with samy to one of the games and james was just reminded of his crush all over again

he was beyond excited when him and hannah actually started talking and texting more frequently

some of the guys still kept telling him to not go for it because of hannah’s inability to stick around for long but james brushed their comments off

he appeared at a few of her home gymnastic meets, basically just mesmerized at how good she was at flipping off bars

the more they kept talking, the easier it was for james to break her walls down and make her let him in

he is also a very private person when it comes to his relationships so he doesn't mind keeping it off of the internet either except for the little posts here and there

rutger is a caffeine addict. it doesn’t matter WHAT, as long as it has caffeine, rutger will be drinking it. but he prefers red bull or energy drinks over coffee because he looks lactose intolerant 😭😭 twins 🤞🏼he also physically can’t live without caffeine, he is starting to get caffeine headaches and everyone around him is like “i told ya so”

kinda based on the last one, this man is ALWAYS hype. he looks like the best guy to go out to a party with because HE JUST LOOKS LIKE THE LIFE OF A PARTY? hes def the type of guy to like do the beer chug thingy that people use at parties 😭 hes always just moving around too (because of the caffeine LMAO) so if hes sitting for too long he starts getting jittery and will like, start bouncing his leg up and down because he just needs to be moving, that’s why he hates lectures so much i mean, who actually does tho?

he’s actually very understanding and empathetic. because of his sister i like to think that rut actually is the type of guy to be empathetic towards everyone in general, he’s also just in tune with his emotions and will communicate exactly what he’s feeling to you (and really anyone he cares about) because he knows that communication is key. this man will never hold a grudge either, he’s just the “you only live once” kinda vibe and thinks grudges are a waste of time 😭

Wyatt quietly walked out of his room being mindful to shut his door very quietly and he slowly walked to the room next to his and opened the door to Greyson’s room and closing the door behind him.

It was late at night and everyone else was sleeping but Wyatt had so much energy and was restless from the game he played a few hours ago.

He tried to sleep for the past hour, just tossing and turning until admitting defeat and got out of bed heading to Greyson’s room.

Wyatt has never been more thankful for a person than he is for Greyson, from the moment he met Greyson, Greyson has taken care of Wyatt and truly took him under his wing and showed him the NHL world.

Wyatt has always and will always think Greyson Hughes is absolutely beautiful and he is not ashamed to admit Greyson was the person Wyatt use to look up all the time on instagram and was the boy who made Wyatt realize he likes guys.

Wyatt and Greyson both lived in Toronto during the same time and played at the same arena for many years but being different ages they never ended up crossing paths.

But meeting Greyson and becoming roommates and teammates and eventually friends, Wyatt grew to care even more for Greyson, more than just being attracted to him.

And Wyatt knew the second Greyson smiled at him that Greyson would end up capturing his heart and Greyson has, and Wyatt is more than okay with that.

“Ollie.” Wyatt softly whispered as he leaned over a sleeping Greyson, Wyatt felt a pinch of guilt for trying to wake up Greyson when he is peacefully sleeping.

Wyatt wants to just slide into Greyson’s bed and curl up to him but Wyatt doesn’t have permission to do so and does not want to push Greyson and make him uncomfortable.

Greyson’s eyes fluttered open squinting at Wyatt, “Wy?” Greyson sleepily mumbled sounding confused.

Wyatt cleared his throat softly trying to ignore the thoughts that ran to his head from Greyson’s voice, “Can i sleep next to you?” Wyatt hopefully whispered asking.

Greyson hummed his eyes shutting close once more and he lifted his arm up making his blanket lift and Wyatt beam before he slid into the spot next to Greyson.

Wyatt did not immediately curl up to Greyson even if he wished too.

“Did you come in here to lay all the way over there.” Greyson teasingly mumbled his eyes never once opening but he could feel how far away Wyatt was from him.

Wyatt flushed a soft pink but eagerly scooted closer to Greyson but apparently not enough because Greyson threw his arm over Wyatt’s waist and pulled his as close as possible and burrowed his face into Wyatt’s soft hair.

Wyatt made a suprised squeak but all but melted into Greyson’s protecting arms.

Wyatt toon a few deep breaths trying to find words to get his thoughts out.

“Sssh, we can talk in the morning, sleep now.” Greyson softly mumbled rubbing Wyatt’s back gently making him relax more and more into his arms.

Wyatt nodded and felt himself fall into a deep sleep in Greyson’s arms.

December 2, 2022

Greyson’s nose twitched as he felt something brush his nose, Greyson squinted his eyes open and remember Wyatt had joined him late last night.

Greyson nudged his nose against Wyatt’s hair letting out a soft fond sigh.

Greyson has always been a good sleeper but having Wyatt in arms made his sleep last night become the best sleep he has ever had and he knows it’s all because of Wyatt.

Greyson wasn’t scared to admit he has feelings for Wyatt and they have been slowly growing over the last few months, Greyson has never met someone who he has felt so comfortable with so fast.

He knows Wyatt feels something for him back, it is obvious by the way he flushes pink often because of Greyson and the way Wyatt stares at him with heart eyes.

Greyson has kinda just let their friendship develop not pushing that they both have feelings for each other and he has been more than content to just wait for Wyatt and kinda let him settle into his new life but Greyson has been thinking about confessing soon and then Wyatt came into his bed last night kidna giving him his sign he should confess.

Wyatt shuffled around nuzzling his head more against Greyson as he slowly started to wake up.

Wyatt blinked sleepily feeling a hand scratching his back and being held, He hummed happily and then realized it was Greyson holding him and smiled.

“Morning.” Greyson softly mumbled noticing Wyatt waking up.

“Morning.” Wyatt mumbled sleepily but happily, how could he not be happy by waking up in the arms of the boy he has been crushing on for years.

Wyatt just laid in Greyson’s arms for a good while enjoying the comforting touch and silence between them but he eventually lifted his head up resting his chin on Greyson’s chest

“Sorry about coming in here last night.” Wyatt sheepishly apologized.

Greyson shook his head, “It’s okay, i don’t mind.” Greyson knew that Wyatt has a hard time sleeping after being wired up from a game.

Wyatt smiled pleased and laid his head back down resting his cheek on Greyson’s chest still staring up at him.

Greyson tentatively brought his hand up to Wyatt’s messy hair messing with his little strands.

Greyson and Wyatt just held eye contact as Greyson played with Wyatt’s hair.

Greyson didn’t realize he was slowly leaning in as he stared at Wyatt until their noses bumped each other.

Greyson eyes flickered between Wyatt’s eyes and lips making sure there was no hesitation and took a deep breath before pressing their lips together.

Wyatt inhaled sharply, he had thought maybe they were about to kiss but having Greyson actually kiss him shocked him.

Wyatt desperately kissed him back bringing his hands up to hold Greyson’s face in his hands.

“Woah.” Wyatt mumbled in awe panting as they pulled away from each other.

Greyson smiled and rubbed his nose again Wyatt’s cheek.

“Can we do that again?“ Wyatt looked up at him nervously, he wasn’t sure what he would do if he never got to kiss Greyson again, he’s been waiting long enough.

“Whenver you want love.” Greyson softly mumbled rubbing Wyatt’s cheek reassuring.

“As your boyfriend?” Wyatt added hopefully happily leaning into Greyson’s soft touch.

“Yes. You’re stuck with me.” Greyson softly teased making Wyatt beam happily.
