1. Brighid chose to work for Athenril. Both Aveline and Carver favored the Irons, but Brighid wanted to keep her and her brother from the burden of being killers for hire.

Despite being the shadier option, it was also the quieter one. Brighid didn't want to make a name for herself or her brother, not with the overwhelming amounts of Templars here. The fact that it still happened is what's got them in the hot water that demands the Deep Roads Expedition.

2. She didn't go to Ostagar, but she was afraid for Carver when he went. When Lothering was destroyed, her strongest silver lining was that Carver came back.

3. She'd be lying if she said she hadn't wished to be a proper Amell when she was a child. Her mother liked to talk about life as a noble child; and Brighid, who made her coin helping Lothering farmers with their livestock all year, was always jealous of the life her mother left behind.

She's pretty incensed that Gamlen pissed away any and all money and influence they had been entitled to.
