what's your favorite part about making art?

Getting it out of my head (lol)

To give a more complete answer haha, each step has its own charm! Sketching is nice to have it Out of me, alleviates the itch of having a Thought or Feeling that just needs to be Out and onto paper already

If I'm drawing digitally, lining has gotten rather meditative, or if my sketches are particularly scribbly then it's like a puzzle haha

Toning on paper is a fun exercise in tool usage - I have specific pencils I switch back and forth between to get The Effect I'm looking for, or filling in with the same pencil for the whole piece is nice to just have it done all at once, it's satisfying both ways

Editing has kinda fallen by the wayside for me lately (as evidenced by my lack of uploads - I keep wanting to share, but there's a stopper in my brain that says "No, they're Not Done!" which is like......half correct? It's done when I say it's done, but they haven't been edited "properly" so) but it also has its good points! It took a bit to find the fun again because editing is definitely Not my favourite part of the process - it's not Creative or Exciting or Expressive in the same way as the other steps but it is something I can do for my art that makes it appear how my hand, eye, and brain want it to - my hand is messy, my eye is very particular, and my brain parses between the two, takes away the lines that muddle the final image until there's only The Picture left :) And sometimes it's all I have the energy for! Sometimes all I can do is take my backlog and make it pretty rather than make something new - but it's still Making Art :)

The only part I really don't like is scanning lol, it's just annoying, why can't my pictures be uploaded in perfect quality directly from my sketchbook to my computer haha

And most of this is to do with drawing since it's still my main art form, but a lot of the same applies to writing and papercraft and whatever else I try my hand at - it's nice to Have and Do and see where it gets me :)

I'm doing well! I've been writing more than - ever? I think? I think this is officially my up-to-now peak of Finished Writing by wordcount and time spent on it lol, it's been very fun!! And also a little overwhelming haha I still haven't quite found a New Normal about it, it being The Most haha, but I want to work towards that balance! More practice means more time to implement it so lol

Anyway– I totally understand your stance on that! It can actually totally put me off a fic if I like character X and Y together but Y exists in the fic but X gets shipped with Z 💀💀 I don't actually have any Law ships but just because it's popular I've tagged something as 'very minor background law/x if you squint' although absolutely nothing to that affect has happened yet. And Bepo is still yet to show up in the fic so it's not like he's overshadowed by anyone! Law searching for him is very much a big part of the story 🙈

I just wanted to come on here and mention it because, where this particular fic is concerned, it's very much at a "Law isn't shipped with anyone and doesn't have to be for the plot but boyy would it spice things up if he had a love interest" stage XD I've considered a lot of different characters for that role but never really liked the ideas so far...and then I found your blog, and lwbp is suddenly in my head! 👀

HEY HERE FOR YOU IS SO GOOD oml I adore the way you write Tighnari and Collei's relationship, it conveys such a clear sense of family and care. And Collei, doing what needs to be done (based on things she'd learned from Nari!!) despite her underlying anxiety over how to handle things, is exactly how I would picture her in this kind of scenario!! And her awkwardness when Tighnari is in the bathroom... I really feel for them both TT_TT I love that Tighnari tried to do so much before the illness really hit him, and then tying to clean up after himself later - it just feels so in character. His ears and tail throughout the fic are so well utilized in a sense of body language and just conveying how much he's struggling, not to mention thinking about Cyno 🥺

And just the way that things get so gradually worse for him throughout the fic!!!!!!!! How he goes from "I will prepare everything" to "ugh so annoying I can barely clean up my mess but I must tidy!!" to not even speaking. Such a great way to show the progression of how awful he's feeling. I'm. Struggling to be coherent here I just love this fic so freaking much. I could spend a whole day rereading it if I had time for it. I'm. !!!!!!!!??????!?!?! Can't believe there's going to be whole second chapter 😭 and I'm so excited for Cyno to join the story!!!!!!! The AO3 tags already have me squealing lsdfjdfsjk okay enough of my rambling, thank you a million times over for writing this fic, I'll probably do an AO3 comment in the future with more thoughts once I've read it 200 more times :D

I started out Really nervous to be writing so many new characters at once but once I got passed it a bit I'm Really thrilled with how it is coming out. She learned! she learned from Nari and she's doing her best! It's really hard NOT to feel for them both I think bc this is just a Situation and like it's not... unpredictable in that it was obviously going to happen eventually but like no one. really expects to suddenly be In that position either.

honestly im having so much fun with his ears and tail, tho I did. .. forget about them a scene or two I think im glad you can't really tell rofl. It just. Made sense to me that Nari would be the kind of person used to taking care of himself (when he didn't have Cyno around) because he seems to be the Type:tm:

Useless explanations nobody ask me to provide under the cut, just because short posts and I are a crackship that will never sail.

Gyarados : For people who got to really know the Moon Keeper, it’s no secret that Leviathan is a primal - if not THE primal - Spectral kinda admires. Despite he knows how dangerous primals are, the miqo’te does have a thing for them for various reasons he would keep secret to anyone who is not in his very private circle, knowing how borderlined his ideas are. Let’s just simply say, Gyarados reminds him the Whorleater, and he wanted to have a companion like that on his side.

Rapidash : Strangely, mun and muse does share the same affection towards Lord Haurchefant Greystone. When he saw that fierce unicorn pokemon running, Spectral knew he should just capture one. Rapidash reminds him so much of the Unicorn armoiries of the Fortemps family, it was natural to have one with him. We can’t say if the reason is loyalty towards the Ishgardian family or a way to cope with Haurchefant’s loss though. If you ask him about it, he would just answer, stoic as ever : “ I love ponies. “ Like we would say in french : “ Comprenne qui pourra.” ( I think english would translate that as : Make of that what you will but I’m really not sure about the sentence having the same meaning here so … I’ll keep the french this time xD )

Alolan Ninetails : A fox with a feline appearance made of ice and snow. It was like Spec’ saw himself in a mirror. Plus, they kinda have the same weird and long ears.

Unown : Spectral’s favorite. He won’t admit it, but it IS his favorite amongst all the pokemon of the team. He likes Unown even more than Rapidash. It is weird. Is it a letter ? An ancient allagean symbol ? What kind of ether makes that … thing move ? It just jump or float, turn around and send weird sounds into Spec’s linkshell. Unown is a mystery he wants to solve. 

He would have that Y unown …. It really looks like an alleagean machine or that weird Omega screen with Omega eyes in it ya’know …  ( I’m getting carried away and since I am, here’s a picture of Y Unown. )

He maaaay have that “!” shaped unown, but just because it looks like it’s judging you so hard. Like Spec’s face is a 24h judging face ya know, they became judging-looking-but-not-wanted-look buddies. I can easily imagine a stare fight with Unown, Spec and Shedninja. ( oops spoiler )

Shedninja : Obviously, Spec captures this one because it’s odd … and so so so relatable. It looks like him when he wokes up or during day time.  It floats here with its apathetic face and would sometimes rest on the Keeper’s hair. The pokemon and its trainer could stare at each other for hours ( it is very awkward to assist at this … ), or silently doing their fight without ever doing a sound.  No order, no pokemon shouts … Shedninja has this weird advantage to be creepy silent ( stoic ? ) and yet to look so nice. It’s cute but weird. Cute but it won’t ever tell a word. Spectral is fond of it. Shedninja does not make useless noises, and they somehow understand each other even if they barely vocally interact. Plus, it looks so awkward, just like him during daytime. Totally apathetic cuz sunlight is something Spece does not like or bare at all so he just weirdly close his eyes during daytime like Shedninja does ( It’s funny to see but Spec would prefer to be killed a hundred times that to be seen like that.).

  Torchic: Last, but not least. Whatever sort of relationships you have with the Miqo’te, it is a secret to no one he is fond of his red Chocobo. Torchic is like seeing a red Chocobo chick, and Spectral’s heart has melt. The moment he saw this pokemon, he knew he had to protect it and raise it. I suspect him to name the torchic “ Junior “ and take it into his arm whenever he moves. He would never leave Torchic, nor let it evolves. It’s an eternal chocobo chick to his eyes.

Relationship status: Single. My last relationship was 4 years ago, and I don’t really miss being in one right now. For a good reason (or many).

Favorite color: I’ve loved purple/lavender since I was little. But I also love different shades of blue and green, such as turquoise, aquamarine, mint green, teal etc. Burgundy is pretty sexy.

Favorite food: I’m weird but I like spinach soup with boiled eggs, and blood pancakes. Pizza with pineapple, ham and blue cheese is yummy.

Song stuck in your head: Our Demons (Hive Remix) by The Glitch Mob. If I could make fanvideos, I would turn this song into a Harringrove/Stranger Things music video.

Dream trip: Greece (I visited Rhodes before but I now want to see Athens), Iceland, Norway, Australia, Japan, Austria, Montana/Colorado (USA).

Last book you read: I Can See in the Dark (Jag kan se i mørket) by Karin Fossum. It was a disturbing read all in all, but also pretty interesting.

Last book you enjoyed reading: He Who Fears the Wolf (Den som frykter ulven) by Karin Fossum. I actually read this book many years ago lmao. But the story was also turned into a movie which I happen to have on dvd, which also basically sparked me to buy and read the damn book and, well. I love the story, I really do. I just wish it wasn’t so sad *sniffs*.

Last book you hated reading: I wouldn’t say I hated reading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice since I’m a sucker for period dramas and all, but I also couldn’t finish that book, so.

Favorite thing to cook/bake: I love cooking a lot these days, so where to begin where to start... Maybe some chicken, fried rice and vegetables topped with a sweet sour chili sauce? Or mud cake?

Favorite craft to do in your free time: Jewelry, a little skill that I picked up a few months ago. I can do a bit of knitting as well, but I’m not good at it by any means. :D does gardening count as craft?

Most niche dislike: Can’t stand red onion everywhere. Fucking everywhere. I don’t like onions except garlic and chives.

Opinion on circuses: I haven’t been to one since I was 15. I’m scared of clowns, and I associate circus with animal abuse, so. Not really my thing I guess.

Do you have a sense of direction: Not really but I have always found my way back, sooner or later. :D so I guess I’m not that hopeless yet~

TY for tagging me @bottomvalerius ♥ I decided to dig up something from the most current / finalized drafts of the MRR even though I’m currently taking a  break from that project :”D As always anyone else is free to join, but I’m gonna tag @arcanecadenza and @helpiminwritinghell This one is specifically from Book 6 Ch.1 

“Slow down!” Rosie yelled as she tried to free herself from where her skirt had snagged on a bramble. But the wolf just howled from somewhere ahead, the sound echoed throughout the woods, making her shiver. When she caught up with it, the wolf sat waiting at the edge of a clearing. As she caught her breath, she took in her surroundings. The glade had been torn apart, branches lay broken and strewn all over. Dirt had been kicked up, and gore was splattered all over the grass. At the very center of it all was a hulking figure, crouched over what may have once been an animal. Rosie squinted, trying to see in the low light. The wolf yipped and ran over to the hunched figure. They were impossibly large, and even doubled over; they seemed twice the wolf’s size.

“Inanna?” When the figure spoke, their voice was low and full of remorse. They looked past the wolf to where Rosie stood, their eyes narrowing. “What are you doing here? Leave.”

Inanna, the wolf, barked and nipped at the man’s hand as he tried to push her away. She whined, and grabbed and tugged one of the tattered furs that hung from his shoulders, as if trying to pull him to Rosie.

“Inanna, stop.”

“I’m sorry, I-” Rosie took a small step forward. “I think she was looking for my friend, Asra. But he’s away right now, so I…” She trailed off as the stranger’s hood fell back, revealing a deep gash in his forehead. Half of his face was covered in blood from the wound, and a slow trickle still oozed from it.

“You’re hurt!” She hurried over, surprised when he flinched away.

“Don’t touch me!”

“I just want to help,” she said as she took a step back. The stranger murmured something under his breath as he got to his feet. Rosie stared at the creature that lay dead between them. It was a peryton, it’s chest had been ripped open, reduced to a ragged and empty cavern.

“My god,” she gasped, reflexively clutching her amulet. “What’s done this?!”

The man stooped back down, sheltering the corpse again. “Leave. Before you find out.”

As if to punctuate his command, a sickening, ethereal howl rang out through the forest. Magic crackled over Rosie’s fingers as her eyes darted around the clearing. But there was nothing. Her attention returned to the man as he sank back to his knees as he let out a small, pained whimper.

‘He’s badly hurt, and whatever killed the peryton may come back for more…’

“Please, let me help you,” she said as she offered her hands.

“What?”

“That’s a deep wound you got, an’ whatever did this,” she gestured to the corpse. “Might come back.”

He grumbled, but didn’t flinch again when she came closer. “I can manage by myself. If you stick around, you’ll just get hurt.”

“What, a big guy like you cannae protect little old me?” She said, trying to coax a smile from him.

“No.”

“Oh. Okay,” she said as she awkwardly fluffed her hair. “Well, like I said. That cut looks really bad. I’m a Hedgewitch, see, so I know a thing or two about patching folks up…”

The man said nothing, and just stared at her.

uhhhh actually... been a couple weeks I think lol. I almost cried last week when my GM told me he was leaving.

I always wanted to be a professional/published author, and I mean that kind of still stands? Realistically I’d settle for no customer interaction (which I’m in accounting now so, yay! not much of that anymore)
