Jinkei_bunny is, as one might say, a real one.

I’ve always really liked their art in passing a whole lot so this tweet by them in particular was a very nice read. Whenever nbs draw Black characters, well, you already know how that usually ends up turning out, right? Especially Japanese mangaka. I dropped quite a few manga in the past for introducing caricatures of Black people almost immediately. Like, I should not have had to see that shit. And when some people would praise these things, I’d never see anyone give any warnings about the content. Only from other Black ppl of course but yeah. It’s sad that I’m always shocked whenever I run across a manga or whatever and I’m always shocked to see whenever a Black character actually looks GOOD.

I cant thank tumblr enough for being the sanest and safest place for me to post my art… Aside from one weird blip on here, this has been the most welcoming and nice place to show my works ｡ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡ nice comments and I always check tags.

On other websites I always hold my breath whenever I get a new notification because there are larger chances that its gonna be a weird comment that Im super uncomfortable with (like when I post chilumi art and I get random comments from people going “I hate this ship” for no reason 😭😭 like why did u have the need to share that)

Anyway Im rambling. I just wanted to say that tumblr is pretty great for artists like me :) generally speaking! Its kinder to fanartists ^^ also because even older artworks still get new engagements
