I'm looking for fics where they, or one of them, live on an island or in a small village near the sea or in the lighthouse etc. but not on a deserted island, and without pirates, fantasy, knowing each other since they were kids, and tropics. I'm thinking about a colder climate - UK, Canada, north US, Scandinavia, preferably slow built, mystery, but really anything. I already bookmarked Rose Island Romance, Between the Moon and New York City.

The ones you have bookmarked are really good (I’m listing them below for our other followers). The first fic rec is an excellent mystery series set in Seattle (which is located near a bay). The other rec are fics where they are at the coast, mainly on holiday. It seems that everyone likes to write them in warmer climates when they are at the coast. - HKVoyage

Matching author names with Tumblr names

I like to rec fics. I do. I read tons and tons of Glee fanfiction (mostly Klaine), and I can’t help but gush over them, because as a fandom, we are SO spoiled. Glee fanfic writers are so talented, and we’re blessed to have them share their stories with us.

But often, I have trouble tagging an author on Tumblr because their Tumblr name differs from their author name on AO3 or Lifejournal or Fanfiction.net or Scarves & Coffee.

Sometimes, it’s as simple as smushing the name together (Twitchy Squirrel = @twitchysquirrel) or adding a number (Flowerfan = @flowerfan2).

In some cases, though, the names aren’t a bit alike, so you just have to KNOW.

That’s why I’ve compiled the following list of author names and corresponding Tumblr handles. Use it as a reference when reccing a fic, and PLEASE help me out and add to the list if you know of others. Thanks very much in advance!

I have actually had a major breakthrough with The Fic today and only have a few little scenes left to write, but unfortunately the whole thing is entirely hideous and will have to be edited many times. Sigh.

OMG! There was some of that in there, too! There's this one writer I used to follow who mostly writes drabbles, and she's considered a big deal in her fandom, but bless her heart, I don't think she's ever had sex in her life. Oh god no, not for me. I was never bad at it but I never really liked it the way math people like math. And then I just haven't needed to really understand it for any of my stuff so I just use it and plod along happily ignorant. But now i have to explain it in my thesis and it is gross.
