Background: for those who don’t know, there’s a YouTube channel called Twisted Translations (formerly known as Translator Fails, and before that as Google Translate Sings) where the channel’s creator puts song lyrics, recipes, audience questions, airline safety instructions, or just about anything else through several different languages in Google Translate and then back into English and dramatically performs the results. She’s been doing this for ten years, and I have a running joke with a few of my friends that the resulting impressive collection of videos has a screenshot for just about everything.

So here’s the game: send me an ask with a question. It can be about the characters of the Jailbreak Squad, the upcoming chapter or a past chapter of AWOHO, that universe more generally, or anything else about my writing; it can be about my general TMA headcanons, especially about characters who haven’t made it into my fics yet; or it can be a get-to-know-the-author type of question. I request that you keep it to one question per ask, but feel free (I encourage you!) to send in as many asks as you want. I will respond to each ask I get with a single screenshot from a Twisted Translations video, and nothing else.

Im curious as to how this is going to end but I'm confused about something in most of the twt thread translation it says thst the flowers crept behind yuu or something like that but it is canon that yuu doesn't have magic why would the flower move towards them ???? Maybe I'm just confused because English isn't my first language

Please be cautious if you’re exclusively sourcing TLs from Twitter threads! They tend to give only the gist of what happens; they’re not great for getting the full picture of what’s going on. It can also get confusing because threads tend to be a mix of translated summary plus personal reactions, which can lead to a lot of confusion about what’s actually canon and what is just personal interpretation or fans fantasizing about their favorite character. Threads may not always be complete either, which can lead to bits and pieces of information getting lost. Do also note that Twitter threads are very quick and unedited, meaning there’s a chance the information was not proofread or checked for potential mistakes.

To answer your question; it’s true that the flowers are creeping towards Yuu, but it’s NOT because it senses any magic coming from them. The flowers appear to just advance mindlessly, seeking out magic. It is because the flowers don’t ATTACK Yuu that the NRC boys realize that they only attack sources of magic. Creeping up on someone by itself doesn’t mean anything. In all likelihood, the flowers were heading towards Yuu either because they’re indiscriminately looking for something to drain or because Yuu happens to be standing close to the NRC boys and/or Grim, who are magic users.
