He never would have thought that he could look back on a moment and remember it with such clarity. Especially one so mundane as sitting at his desk compiling reports on patient check-ins, as sipping bitter, black coffee and making sure all the i’s were dotted and the t’s were crossed.
But it was the moment the alarms began to blare. It was the moment the lights shut off and, above him, the intercom crackled to life.
Horror crawled down Henrik’s spine when a frantic voice- usually indifferent and calm, now it was the opposite- began to splutter words he never thought he would hear. “There’s been a breach. I repeat. There’s been a breach. SCP-218 has broken out of containment. Eliminate on sight. I repeat. Elimina-”
The intercom went dead, leaving only the piercing wail of the alarms. And, if Henrik listened closely, the distant pop-pop-pop of gunshots.
He jolted up from his desk, the grate of the chair’s legs against the floor lost under the alarms and his tipped over travel mug- along with the slow consumption of his paperwork by steaming coffee- deemed inconsequential as he all but ran from his office. He had a feeling he wouldn’t be back for those papers anyway.

The clinic was completely empty, but there had clearly been a hard-fought struggle; beds were overturned, equipment was smashed, sparking wires and glass shards coating the floor.
Henrik ventured through carefully, wincing at every crunching footstep. His eyes darted left, right, left, fearing and searching for any reaching hands or grimacing snarls that might leap from the shadows to seize him.
No one did. He made it to the clinic doors in one piece, snatching up his medical kit along the way and clutching it tightly to his chest.
But it was there he hesitated, hand clutching the ID card pausing mere inches away from the panel as he stared at the doors that seemed to loom before him. They were largely unscathed- which was a miracle considering the state of the rest of the clinic- but that gave him little comfort.
There’d been a breach. Item 218 had escaped, and there was no doubt in Henrik’s mind that others more dangerous than 218 would follow, if they hadn’t already.
He should stay there. In the clinic. Those doors were reinforced, and would likely keep out most things short of Keter.
He’d be safe in the clinic.
But then he thought about the others. If 218 could break out, maybe they could too.
An idea began to form in the back of his mind. He could break them out. Grant them the freedom that never should’ve been taken in the first place.
Henrik’s hand shot out and the light on the panel turned green. With an agonized whir, the doors grated open.

Immediately he dived to the floor, narrowly avoiding the bullets that whizzed over his head. He didn’t see where they went, or who- or what- their targets were, but he heard them connect with the sharp plinks of metal on metal.
Henrik twisted to look, and immediately wished he hadn’t.
Four pairs of flashing red eyes emerged from the smoke, just before four Keter-level androids came marching out of it, looking for all the world like harbingers of death.
And along with them came death: at the center of the group of Keters. A dark figure, its outline flickering black-blue-red as if it were unstable-- which, if what Henrik knew about this Item was correct, it probably was-- and about to snap completely. Malice radiated from it in waves; so heavy that it made the doctor feel sick to his stomach.
Still, he managed to stay hidden as they passed, entering the control room, stepping over the sprawled bodies of guards and faculty alike, as if they weren’t even there.
Henrik noticed, in the precious few moments he saw of the Keters and their Euclid escort before they disappeared into shadow, that one of the androids was carrying someone, limp and clearly unconscious, to its chest, cradling it as if it were something to protect. To keep safe.
Henrik didn’t stop to ponder this; he crouched low— hoping he was hidden enough to go unnoticed— until he could no longer hear the whirring, mechanical movements of the androids or the crackling distortion of their master. Then, holding his breath, he bolted through the clinic doors and into the bleary, flashing lights of the alarms.
The hallways were not empty; there were bodies. Bodies of inmates and guards alike lay strewn over the concrete floor. Henrik paused by some of them, kneeling in congealing pools of blood to press fingers to exposed necks or wrists, checking for pulses he wasn’t sure would be there.
Some were there, most were not. He lingered near none of them, choosing instead to move on, silently thankful that he didn’t know any of the torn, bloodied faces, yet dreading that the worst was yet to come.
Despite this, he reached his assigned wing unscathed, following the same path he’d tread for months. The alarms had long stopped blaring, leaving him in eerie half-silence punctuated only by his breathing and flashing, red lights.
The five-inch thick, titanium door loomed impossibly big before him as Henrik approached, and his hand shook as he fumbled for his ID card, shook as he reached to swipe it, waiting with bated breath as the heavy door grated open-
Henrik immediately recoiled as an ear-wrenching scream tore open the red flashing darkness, as static electricity crackled through the blood-drenched air, as flashes of light and heavy thuds rendered his half-silence dead.
But then as quickly as he’d hesitated he was lurching forward once more, holding his medical kit to his chest as if it were a lifeline. Which it was.
“Hello?” He called desperately, eyes shifting left, right, left, scanning cell doors, some of which stood half-open, and some of which didn’t stand at all. “Chase? Marvin? Anti?”
The gunshots were getting closer. He could even hear the rattling boots over metal grating. They didn’t have much time.
Suddenly a magnificent flame lit up the dark, enveloping a figure as it stumbled toward him, hand outstretched.
“Henrik! It’s you!” Marvin’s voice was hoarse as if from screaming, yet his eyes were alight, glowing bright green, just like the fire that rippled around his shaking form, spouted from his hands in bright bursts. He collapsed to his knees at Henrik’s feet, his flame extinguishing with a sizzle and a hiss. His shoulders shook as he grabbed at Henrik’s legs, fingers frantically clutching his bloody scrubs as if the doctor would disappear if he let go. “It’s back. It never left me.”
“It never did.” Henrik pried himself from Marvin’s grip, then quickly kneeled so he could get a good look at him. Sluggish tears tracked down the magician’s gaunt, bare face, but otherwise he appeared uninjured. “We have to get out of here, Marv. There’s been a breach. Dark is-”
“He’s the one who freed us?” Came a new voice, and a moment later Jackieboy Man appeared, standing tall despite his emaciated frame. Slumped against him was Jameson Jackson, his head lolling, the outlines of his form flickering listlessly.
“Yes. He and the Keter androids.” Henrik helped Marvin to his feet. “We must escape immediately. There are many guards dead but more are coming. They will capture you. Have any of you seen Chase? What about Robbie?”
“Chase is still in his cell,” Marvin said. “His door is still closed. And locked.”
“I need you to go get him. Find Robbie too, if you can. I’m going to close the door. That should keep them at bay.” Marvin nodded, turned, and disappeared, while Jackieboy Man gently lowered Jameson Jackson to the floor, seeming exhausted himself. It broke Henrik’s heart to see him-- his strength sapped, his body malnourished, his eyes sunken and circled with purple.
“Rest,” he told the hero. “I will take care of this.”
He spun, fear urging him onward toward the door, already reaching to swipe his ID card across the panel, ready to shut it and lock it. Beyond it he could see the black-armored shapes of SCP personnel, and the vivid flashes of muzzle fire as they fired at-
“Anti!” Henrik cried, as the hunched figure stumbled and fell, his body spasming uncontrollably, lighting up the metal devices protruding from his body, sending green-tinted sparks flying.
Anti’s left eye glowed neon green as he lifted his head, a glow that stuttered, threatening to go out. He was injured, Henrik realized. Not just by the plugs, which controlled his electric instability and kept him docile, but by one of the bullets arcing over his head.
He had no choice. Dropping his medical kit and ID to the floor, he darted beyond the threshold, making a desperate break for Anti and fervently praying that the bullets whizzing past him would not strike anywhere vital.
His wish would partially come true; he was mere feet from Anti’s prone body when white-hot agony seared his left shoulder.
Henrik cursed, but nonetheless kept going, scrambling more than running the rest of the way before nearly collapsing at Anti’s side.
“Henrikkkk . . .” Anti gurgled on his own blood, fighting to raise his head once more before giving up and dropping it limply back to the floor. His body convulsed once, the plugs fizzing.
“Yes. Yes. Just hold on.” Henrik dared to glance up. The SCP officers were coming. Fast. In moments they would be upon them. He looked back toward the door. It was too far away. There was no way he and Anti would make it in time.
The plugs sparked again. Hissed like releasing steam. And it hit him; he knew what to do.
Henrik reached for one of the plugs. It jutted out of Anti’s shoulder, a metal cylinder tipped with twin wires, not unlike a television antenna.
“I won’t let them hurt you again!” He cried, and yanked it out.
Hot blood sprayed through the air. Anti howled, writhing in pain, but Henrik didn’t pause to comfort him as he reached for another plug, then another, then another.
The moment he pulled the last plug, electricity surged from Anti’s body, the force of it creating a shockwave that knocked Henrik back flat against the floor, his head connecting with a sickening thunk that reverberated pain through his entire body.
The next few minutes were a blurry haze of green. Of screams. Of the death rattles of dying men. Of hysterical laughter that seemed to ring off the walls of Henrik’s skull.
Then, it was over, and Anti’s face-- he wore a vicious grin despite the bright look of pain in his eyes-- entered his field of vision.
“C’mon, Doc. Time to go.” He hauled the doctor to his feet, entire form seeming to vibrate and jerk erratically. “Gotta catch up with Dark before he leaves our asses here.”
Henrik nodded faintly. “Yes. Yes. Let us gather the others.”
Anti sneered as if the very idea of reuniting with the others disgusted him. But when Henrik turned to hurry back toward the door, he followed.

Vince hadn’t slept in days, which was hardly a notable occurrence. The wired, wide-eyed and caffeine-fueled manic awakeness with which he prowled headquarters during that time - instead of, say, at work or writing something or desperately trying to figure out why his memories were so scattered - certainly was.
Not that anyone blamed him. It had been days since they’d found Fabian’s body, nearly disfigured, at the sight of the Prewett twins’ last patrol. It had been days, then, since Gideon had gone missing.
He’s not dead, became the mantra in his head as he pored over maps of London and the surrounding areas, blinking sleeplessly at the magicked films placed over them flickered to show suspected and confirmed Death Eater hideouts and safe houses. They would have left him, just like they left Fabian, if he was dead. He’s useful to them alive. He’s still alive.
He’d snarled all of it to Moody, sobbed it out into Gretchen’s lap, sat through planning missions with the quietest concentration most of his comrades had ever seen from him. Rescue was a top priority, even with Alastor’s forever frustrating pessimism.
So when the tip came in, based on reports of extreme Death Eater activity in and out of a certain pureblood family’s third-or-fourth summer home in the not too distant countryside, Vince sprung at the chance to join the extraction party. He’d weathered the concerned looks - based on his closeness to the subject but with a healthy dose of are you sure, Vince, dueling isn’t necessarily your strongest suit.
If Gideon was there, and if - because - Gideon was alive, Vince was going to find him.
The mission was thoroughly planned as quickly as fucking possible, the drive to get revenge for Fabian’s gruesome end a heavy weight on everyone’s shoulders. In the cover of night, after one more full day of careful scoping of the home (activity was highest there in the early morning, with a skeleton crew apparently holding court overnight), the small group of Order members picked their way inside.
Vince wasn’t sure he breathed a single breath the moment his feet touched heavily warded ground; Frank Longbottom led the charge in silence, Gerard Dubois taking out one of the stationed Death Eaters with an almost frightening (if it wasn’t so goddamn satisfying to watch) grace. Vince’s wand was out, of course, his eyes traveling along the pitch black hallways and over still-snoozing portraits and trying to find any sign of where they’d be keeping Gideon. If he was still alive.
He’s still alive.
The fight erupted in steadier, louder waves as their masked enemies properly joined the fray. Vince managed to subdue and restrain one, watching with a sick pride as the man toppled over backwards and lay flat on the ground, mask skittering off. He didn’t stop to figure out who it was; that was important for later. Vince ducked away, kicking open a door or two as he ran down the halls; all empty, dusty.
One door lead down to the basement. He hit the ground as a curse hit the wall beside him, plaster and ancient drywall spraying over him in an arc. Turning, Vince caught the moment his attacker was taken down by Frank; the element of surprise had certainly been in their favor and the Death Eaters’ numbers were low. Now he just had to find Gideon. Vince scrambled to his feet, wand held out in front of him, and took the stairs in quiet, cautious steps downward.
The door must have been soundproofed - which would make sense, once Vince had more time to think it over, even with the privacy of the mansion there was still no reason to let a man’s tortured screams capture anyone’s attention if they happened to be passing by - because Vince came face to face with a clearly surprised Death Eater. Not that he could see the bastard’s actual face behind the mask, but the stunned beat of frozen silence was as good a giveaway as anything.
The smell of blood was everywhere.
Vince was faster: instinct took over and it was a vicious right hook, with a satisfying crunch and crack of the intricate mask beneath Vince’s fist, that took the man out. Clean out, like a ragdoll flung to the ground.
“Fucker,” Vince hissed, giving the Death Eater a solid kick - never one to shy away from fighting dirty, that Vince Sinclair - in the ribs before making sure to send the man’s wand skittering away into the gloomy, eerie basement darkness.
“Gideon?” He called out, voice far stronger than the state of the rest of him, as he stepped further in. The smell was rank, like a cloud of miserable pain he could feel. Blood and sweat and rat shit, probably, considering the state of the rest of the house. With the door upstairs flung open Vince could still hear the sounds of shouting and spells being cast; but he could easily pick out familiar voices, which was a good sign. Taking a deep breath, afraid of what he might see in the light, Vince shook a Lumos into his wand tip and held it up ahead of him. “Gideon, baby?”

here is a pitch for a playable Lady in Devil May Cry 5 that is probably unworkable and overly complex and nobody cares about but I am posting anyway because I like to do this sort of thing
Lady is a fusion of Nero (charge attacks that encourage striking at the right time instead of mashing, Wire snatch) and Dante (wide selection of available means of attack encouraging you to switch often). She has one melee weapon and four ranged weapons. She’s meant to be a Gunslinger that encourages more stylish and varied and mobile gameplay. She moves fast and has a good dodge but her life bar is only half the normal length because she doesn't have preposterous "let's stick swords in my chest" durability.
T: Close-Range Attack (Sawed-Off Shotgun) S: Basic Shot C: Advanced Shot (Gunslinger Style Action) X: Jump, Dodge (with R1+direction), Rocket Jump
L1: Overdrive R1: Lock-On L2: Explosive R2: Wire
D-pad: Select Weapon
Lady's close range weapon is a sawed-off shotgun with a much shorter range than Coyote-A. Gunslinger style actions go off of the Triangle button, except that Fireworks is spin+T, normal/combo attack shot is T, and tapping T during Gun Stinger turns it into a ground slide with a launching upward shot. Shotgun blasts can parry enemy attacks like a normal melee weapon. It cannot charge by holding down the button, but during Overdrive mode, its shots are much wider and have delayed explosions that increase the length of hitstun.
Lady's ranged weapons heat up while in use, changing their properties and eventually causing an overheat that renders them unusable. The invisible heat bar has 3 visible regions, indicated by the color of the circle around their icon: blue is cool, yellow is hot, red is very hot, and flashing a color with black means that the weapon has overheated and can't be used until it completely cools down to the very bottom of blue. Normal shots increase Heat by a smaller amount, and circle shots or special techniques increase Heat by larger amounts. Mashing the attack button faster than the attacks can come out still generates Heat for the nonexistent attacks (punishes button mashing, but also helps to build up from low heat levels).
Heat dictates the power of the weapon's attacks, so it is like Lady's weapons all charge like Nero's, and all charge automatically like Ebony and Ivory in Gunslinger mode. However, low/blue heat corresponds to uncharged attacks, medium/yellow heat is level 2 charge, and high/red heat is level 1 charge. Heat goes down over time whether a weapon is equipped or not, and Heat gauges over 50% go down faster by accumulating style points.
Thus, Lady wants to swap weapons to keep as many as possible in the "sweet spot" of yellow heat, not using them too much to redline them or too little to cool down to uncharged blue heat. Because it is so easy to put out multiple "fully charged" attacks in a row, the effect of her charge is somewhat less impressive than Nero's. (It's really more like red is level 0.75, and yellow is level 1.5 charged attack.)
Lady has 4 ranged weapons, accessible from the D-pad.
KALINA ANN II: A rocket launcher. Works almost exactly like Dante's version, but higher level rockets have wider explosions with increased knockback, serve as launchers against the targeted enemy, and at level 3 stick to enemies to explode again. Kalina Ann II can still be charged and the effect of Heat multiplies the effectiveness of charge, but not by a huge amount. Generates heat quickly.
MARVIN & TAMMY: Twin machine pistols. Lady's version of Ebony and Ivory or Luce and Ombra. S firing targets one enemy, C firing targets multiple enemies (Twosome Time, Rainstorm, etc, but switching targets automatically). Holding down the button results in continuous fire that increases the heat gauge. The bullets can juggle airborne enemies, deal more damage and stun with Heat, and at level 3 bullets are incendiary, lighting enemies aflame for minor but stacking damage over time. Generate heat slowly.
DIANA: A weird laser crossbow thingy. A de-Deviled version of Artemis from DMC3. S fires a laser bolt. Holding S increases the lock-on targets, and firing against multiple lock-on targets increases the heat gauge by the same amount as shooting one. C shoots slow-moving energy orbs. Holding C detonates the orbs to deal more damage, and circle-C fires an Acid Rain storm from Lady and a much smaller one from each orb. Energy orbs deal damage on collision with enemies and continue to move through them, and normal Artemis shots fired THROUGH orbs deal greatly increased damage (and the seeking aspect tries to be lenient about routing through an orb before turning in midair). Higher charge levels increase the number of orbs out at once and the number of lock-ons. Orbs stay out when switching to another weapon and increase the damage of other shots that pass through, but not by as much. Generates heat at a medium rate.
TYPHOON: A massive .600 Nitro Express revolver. A smaller version of the Spiral anti-materiel rifle from DMC3. This huge revolver was designed for half-demons to use, and normal humans would shatter their wrists from firing once -- Lady uses a mechanical brace and holds it with both hands. S fires implosion rounds that stagger, break guards, and suck enemies into each other increasing effectiveness with heat level. C fires piercing rounds that penetrate right through enemies and ricochet around, and heat level increases the number of times this can happen. Each enemy pierced increases the damage of the next shot. Holding S or C puts Lady in a manual-aim mode like Tomboy + Blue Rose with a corresponding increase in power. Back + S or C "fans the hammer", spraying fire wildly, greatly increasing the heat gauge, and knocking Lady back. Forward + S or C is a slow-aiming shot to a weak point with greatly increased stagger and either a much wider implosion radius or a guaranteed extra ricochet. Can't be used in midair without Wire Snatch. Generates heat at a medium-high rate.
OVERDRIVE: Lady is a full-blooded human and does not have a Devil Trigger mode. Instead, she has an experimental cooling system that is activated by pressing L1 and governed by what is basically the same thing as the Devil Trigger gauge, expanded by Purple Orbs, refilled by White Orbs. During Overdrive mode, all of her weapons fire faster and all have the level 2 effect regardless of their heat gauge. When a weapon would overheat during Overdrive mode, it instead consumes some more of the Overdrive gauge.
EXPLOSIVE: Tapping L2 basically emulates the function of Lady's Devil Trigger replacement in DMC4SE, consuming bars of Overdrive to toss grenades in front of her. The longer the button is held, the more grenades are thrown, in a wider arc. The power of this move is toned WAY down from DMC4SE and now serves mostly as a "break away" measure. Lady can drop grenades at her feet to break out of grabs like Dante can do by activating DT or Nero can by activating Break Away, but it takes at least 3 bars that are consumed instantly to no other effect.
WIRE: Lady has a grappling wire like Nero's, on its own button instead of tied to Kalina Ann. Back + R2 on the ground against a movable enemy performs Wire Fling, where Lady anchors herself to the ground and and attempts to fling a grounded enemy upward or airborne enemy downward and smack it into another enemy without moving herself. R2 in any other circumstance does a Wire Snatch like Nero, but since Lady is lighter and doesn't have devil force, she always moves toward her target instead of bringing it toward her.
Pressing an attack button during the Wire Snatch flight performs a special aerial attack: Shotgun has her perform a point blank shot on impact. Kalina Ann II launches an explosive that detonates when she lands, blowing her away in a backflip. S with Marvin and Tammy slows her approach as she unloads into her target, while C has her twirl about and spray every enemy but her target with fire. Diana fires a batch of lock-on bolts into the target upon landing, firing more bolts the longer the Wire flight was, and then slides away a moderate distance. Typhoon has her arc over the target, fire straight down into them, creating a large implosion effect and landing a little bit away from the target on the other side. The damage increase for heat level on these attacks is greater than normal.
Ricochet from enemy to enemy, blasting them and flying off. Bunch them up with implosions then knock everything apart with explosions. Set everyone on fire so the enemies you aren't attacking still take damage. Dance around to make sure your Diana orbs are between you and your target. Keep swapping weapons to maintain as many as possible in the "sweet spot" of the heat gauge. If a boss gets sick of you sniping it, fling yourself into its face, shooting wildly and bouncing off, or just deliver punishing shotgun combos at close range.

Types & Effects of Thermal Spray Coating
Thermal Spray process is ideal for laying extremely thin, dense and hard protective coatings. In comparison, Arc welding process is ineffective and economical on account of the possibility of distortion and removal of large quantity of metal during machining even when a thin overlay is required.
Even a gas welding process causes unwanted distortions and delays.This makes a Thermal spray process the preferred solution for this kind of applications. In thermal spray method, there are four types of processes.
