hi!!! mouse anon here
sorry it's been so long :3
how are you? I hope you've been doing good!
I've been pretty busy with work and I didn't have a lot of energy to watch the kdramas I had on my list but I've been reading a lot on my commutes lol im past my goal of 50 books for this year!
I did watch good detective season 2 which was honestly pretty good!! I didn't remember too much of the 1st season but they gave enough flashbacks that it seemed familiar idk if you watched it but every character except for the dad character was good. I kept getting reality checks of this is just the problems of the top 1% in society so I couldn't relate or care at times -_-
I had save me on my list for so long but I'm so hesitant to start cause I heard it's kind of a lot 😭 I just know the religious schtick of the cult would make me pissed like you said. I've been wanting some lighter shows lately but I'm not taking it off my list!
I still haven't gotten past the 1st ep of 2521 because of the finale!! how can I sit through a cute relationship only to get that ending 😭😭😭 you're so right, we're over relationships in kdramas! I need a good plot and found family and I'll be satisfied (extraordinary attorney woo had such a good couple even if we'll never know taeoh's backstory 😌)
omg I'm glad you liked the killer's shopping list! it's such a weird mix of genres but I think they handled it very well! (cafe minamdang is also on my list! ooh I'm glad it's similar!)
I've had to skip through many scenes of itaewon class :| the writing was just so weird but ahn bo hyun was done dirty by that show! that dye job/color was just so bad 😭
I'll start big mouth ASAP then! I kept seeing super cute gifsets but then people would comment and say the show's actually dark and emotional lol but I like a good mix of happy and sad (just not too sad)
I still haven't resumed dark too 😭 I haven't been productive at all 😭
my mom watched little woman I think and she liked it and I love the cast! it's also really short for a kdrama so it could be another short and good show!
from the new releases, I've heard cheer up was not what people were expecting and i saw mixed reviews so idk if I want it on my list. I do want to watch rookie cops and I heard glitch on netflix is very lesbian coded so it'll be up my alley! I'm also planning on starting law school soon even though it's been so long since you recommended it! I also heard somebody on netflix was good but I didn't hear as any people talking about it so I'm just basing that off of the 2 reviews I've seen lol
sorry I couldn't give you as any recs as I wanted to but I hope all the good recs find you anyway!!! <333
Mouse anon my beloved!!!! Didn’t think I’d hear from you again after changing the url on this blog actually, hi I hope you’ve been well!!!!
Honestly we’re IN SYNC cause I haven’t had the energy to watch a lot of things lately. And I think it started cause I, too, went on a reading binge since September / October of last year that completely shut off my brain for television. What types of books do you read? Is it the same investigation detective streak as your personal taste in tv? I’d love to talk about it
I haven’t watched good detective 2 yet for the reasons mentioned above…… I’ll def have to read about the plot of season 1 first because even with flashbacks I need to know I’m keeping up with the story as it is. It’s on my list for a unforeseeable future.
Yes save me is a lot honestly. I have an overbearing catholic mother so it was. A difficult series to swallow but for some reason I couldn’t stop watching it. It def awakes some raging feelings in you though, I believe even if you don’t have a strong feeling regarding Christianity in the first place like I do.
Bahahahaahahahha about2521 I FEEL YOU. But it’s also so incredibly in touch with the human experience of love and loss and life. It’s more brilliant because it’s over honestly, it sets the show apart from usual romantic dramas. But it’s still a heavy weight in the chest and something lodged on your throat so I get it if you can’t finish it
I never finished big mouth actually T-T I dropped it off by the few last episodes I believe…. It did got a bit dark by the end but the medical improbabilities of it kind of threw me off. It coincided with me dropping television altogether basically so there’s that
(Honestly it’s been so hard for me to enjoy a tv show lately. I kind of fell down the Thai tv rabbit hole and have occupied my mind with that. Some of their shows are really good. From kdrama I think the last one I truly enjoyed was weak hero class 1. The characters are layered in a way that they feel like book characters, it’s something I don’t usually feel when I’m watching television. It was honestly very very good. I’m trying to distract myself with reborn rich now. It’s better than most things in the sense that I can watch perhaps two entire episodes without exhausting the reels feed on my instagram)
Little woman was good!!! I kept up with it as it came out so I think that’s why I managed to get thru the entire thing. That and my love for Kim goeun. Wi hajoon was his usual extremely charming self also.
I didn’t know glitch was lesbian coded but I can assure you from the 2 and a half episodes I watched of somebody, that one Is heavily lesbian. I’ve also started a few episodes of awaken (Netflix) and it sounds like the type of show you’d like. Not even midway thru tho so I can’t promise it’s gonna be good to the end.
I hope you had a good end of the year and that your job treats you kindly. I also hope that you see this <3 and that maybe I can hear from you again <3

Not sure how many epsiodes are left, it's usually 12 or 16 with K drama shows.
Hope they do a season 2. I can easily watch these three scamming criminals and making money with their fake shaman antics :)
Episode 10 /  📺: Cafe Minamdang 💛💛

TV Recommendation: Cafe Minamdang
Tumblr media
Nam Han-Joon is a legendary shaman.
Able to solve any problem, predict the future, and read people with a near supernatural accuracy, he has been a boon to society- and a burden to the police. You never know if Han-Joon is going to raise you up or strike you down with his prophecy, but people will still pay huge deposits for even a moment with him.
Flanked by his sister, Nam Hye-Joon, and best friend Gong Su-Cheol, Nam Han-Joon is always found at the center of investigations and intrigue.
But Nam Han-Joon is not all he appears to be.
Han-Joon and Su-Cheol are disgraced former police investigators (one a profiler, the other a detective), once idealistic and highly honorable men who were targeted and framed for various crimes that saw a close friend tragically murdered and evidence destroyed. Han-Joon even spent time in prison for his alleged crimes.
As for his sister Nam Hye-Joon- she’s a wildcard former NIS agent whose hacking skills are behind most of Nam Han-Joon’s “Miraculous revelations”.
Using a front as a shaman, Nam Han-Joon and his friends are determined to find the killer from so many years before, avenge their friend’s death, and clear their names.
Into Nam Han-Joon’s life comes the relentless Han Jae-Hui, a detective as brilliant and idealistic as Han-Joon once was, who is not afraid to destroy the careers of the powerful to see that justice is served- the same traits that led to Han-Joon’s downfall.
But Han Jae-Hui is not meeting Han-Joon for the first time. As a child she idolized him, this best friend of her beloved big brother... The very same friend whose murder Nam Han-Joon and Su-Cheol were implicated in.
Han Jae-Hui wants answers- and perhaps revenge. But Nam Han-Joon will do whatever it takes to keep her at a safe distance... while also using her skills here and there.

Ahhh, vacation mode. I’m behind on a lot of posts I want to write, but very quickly wanted to jot down this giddiness:
Finished KinnPorsche and can’t WAIT to write that meta;
Finished Cafe Minamdang and will hopefully have a short review if I can find the time, but jeezus, Seo In Guk! What a perfect KBS gift this show was;
And holy shit, beginning Cherry Magic (THANK YOU, @the-nihongo-adventure, aahhhh!), and just drowning again in the fabulous Japanese BL trope vibes that are just so giggly and wonderful and meaningful and fabulous. I cannot help myself because I’m an old auntie, but I’m loving how I’m seeing a lot of Cupcake in this and just getting all the good feels again. I was worried I’d wake my kids up with my laughing, but I’m through episode 2 so far and I’m already loving the mash-up balance of humor and depth of decency in this show.
I know I’m so behind on Cherry Magic, but -- there’s something really pleasant about discovering something “old” at the time you get to watch it. I have a friend who’s been pushing Broad City on me for years, and her pitch is: I’m jealous of the moment you’ll get to watch that show for the first time. I think I’m having that thing right now with Cherry Magic.
Anyway, back to vacay, but I’m rolling around the KinnPorsche thoughts and I hope the tag will be alright with my little analysis!
(Also, Jesus, Machida Keita. Jesus. Jebus. What. I’ve never watched him before, but. what.)

reveal your watch & rewatch drama list
tagged by these lovely people @koreandragon @moonlightsdream @junghaesin @baek1nho  ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨
Currently watching:
Link: Eat, Love Kill: I just kinda wish it moves a bit faster lol...but it’s still an interesting watch.
Yumi’s Cells 2: /still not over woong he messed up but 😭/  Yumi’s cells are so much fun to watch especially naughty/lust cell lmao. Also idk if they’re merging babi with soonrok or follow the webtoon, oh wells~
Alchemy Of Souls: Started for the eyecandies, stayed for the comedy lolol
Becoming Witch: it’s only 5 eps! interesting how netflix bought this it’s a chosun tv production like wow rare. 1st ep got me interested, the 3 of them have some interesting background and it’s funny and dark at the same time.
Cafe Minamdang: I started for Kwak Shiyang acting dumb but the pacing, comedy and plot has got me looking forward to the next ep!
The Legendary life of Queen Lau: Thanks @storge for alerting me that this drama aired and Jackie Li is the FL. It’s so funny, I love the lead’s dynamics.
A dream of Splendor: I’m so behind on this but the leads are sooooooooo their chemistry are just soooooooooo much
Old Fashion Cupcake: there’s something about full grown adults discovering and experiencing things they never do before and embracing themselves that just tugs at my heartstrings.
It’s Beautiful now:  a relaxing weekend drama (typical conflicts), cute couples~
Double:  I just love the writing for this, it’s different. Yujin reading scripts and analysing it together for takara to finally portray it during the actual acting is brilliant. Bonus: domesticity
rewatching:
none at the moment
looking forward to:
Poong, The Joseon Psychiatrist, D.P 2, Alice in Borderland 2, Unicorn ni Notte and everything else that piques my interest from the gifsets made by amazing creators here hahaaha

Hey @hael987 @liyazaki and @ommited-miscellaneously I'm finally doing the tag game of watch rewatch list
Watching
Cafe minamdang - korean: it gives me lawlwaa lawyer vibes + Seo In Guk and I am loving it
Why her-korean: Seo Hyun Jin is an amazing and our heroine is revenge driven and morally grey.
Eve-korean: Again, the actress, Seo Yea Ji is an amazing actress and the character is revenge driven and morally grey.
(2 shows with morally grey badass women who stomp over trashy men is airing together? Yes, I am indeed in heaven)
Extraordinary Attorney Woo-korean: I was skeptic to begin it because cleaning with passion pissed me off with how it portrayed mental health disorder and how someone lives with them but then I remembered it's okay to not be okay, you are my spring and our blues also exist and I gave it a try and I am glad I did because it seems they have done their research and that's all I ask from all shows. I get it yall can't show all facts but don't spread misinformation (I am looking at you clean with a passion) or romanticise it.
Veep-English: i know its a fictional presentation of vice president of usa but I wouldn't be surprised if this is how the actual day of politicians around the world went
What We Do In Shadows-English: it's ridiculous, over the top, hilarious and I love it.
Community- English: Let's just say it's me reliving my childhood nostalgia. I watched this show on and off when it aired on TV in my college years and that made me start the show.
Rewatch
Kinnporsche- Thai: so usually, I don't rewatch. Hell, KinnPorsche will be the second show I rewatch, first being Bad Buddy. Why am I rewatching? Because KinnPorsche is a show that deserves to be appreciated with the truckload of feels I get hit with when binge watching.
What I am looking forward to:
Vice Versa - Thai: The AU of all AU's. I can feel it.
The Son Of Chaebol: It's Song Joong Ki, of course I am going to watch it. And I quite like the trope of second life.
What I Plan to Watch:
She doesn't need to know: Korean-it just dropped on netflix and what can I say I am basic bitch who is a sucker for office romances.
I tag @snimeat @morathicain @machikeita @petevegas @aponatawin @surajmukhis @negrowhat and any one who wants to play this.

Cafe Minamdang actually kinda reminds me of Leverage (the American TV show), which is one of my all time fave series. There’s comedy, action, crime and even romance. I’m so glad we’re getting 18 episodes!

i have to be honest i'm not completely sold on the cafe minamdang romance, but all the characters are so enjoyable in a very tv-show-esque way that i can't not enjoy seeing them all interact on screen
